Bought this after my old vacuum packed up after a number of years of heavy use, and I am glad I bought this because for the price it is amazing! Firstly, I was nervous as I was not sure that this would be powerful enough given the new requirements for vacuum cleaners to achieve certain efficiently and noise standards, but the cyclonic motor is very powerful, quiet and maintains it's suction. The machine comes with a range of attachments which allows you to clean stairs, upholstery and anything else around your house! No other vacuum brand offers so much for your money (if you were to buy them additionally, they'd probably cost a bit) Cleaning performance is excellent,

I've had a Vax Mach Air for several years and loved it - the only negative aspects of it were the hose was inadequately short and the suction pulled up the vinyl floor covering. The Vax Air Stretch Pet Max vacuum though has sorted those problems - the extension hose allows for a longer reach and the air vent allows the suction to be decreased or increased so no more vinyl being sucked up!I'd advise prospective buyers to look at the promotional video because it shows where you store the extension hose on the vacuum when not in use (not shown in the instruction book!) and also I had never considered using the 3in1 tool to clean the shroud.The suction is powerful and cleaned the carpets brilliantly

This vacuum cleaner is one which is hard to beat. I was very surprised by the strength of suction from the cleaner, way beyond my expectations and far superior to current cleaner by well known manufacturer. The vacuum cleaner is light and easy to carry upstairs, and after use is very easy to empty and clean the storage container and internal suction tube. The carpet pile has actually been lifted and now has more spring to it than before cleaning. We have dogs which means extra dirt is brought into the house but not something we can stop. Using this Vax cleaner has shown our previous vacuum was not lifting all dirt out of the pile.

Wow! I may be a convert! The cable means the whole house can be vacuumed from one socket, the fact that it is flat means less tangles too. The suction was VERY impressive. Whilst I have 3 dogs unable to comment on pet fur as they had had a cut last week but I am confident that it will pick up pet fur with ease. It appeared to pick up better than our current upright and being able to easily switch between hard floors and longer piled carpets is a big bonus. A few minor niggles: The hose not being connected to the handle was a bit of a fath. The hose does look a little fragile, time will tell as to how frequently that will need changing - I know the reason why a competitor reduced the length of theirs.

Initially I was unsure about how this Vax vacuum would perform. I needn't have worried. The features on this vacuum really do work and effortlessly. Switching surfaces and adjusting the suction power is a breeze. I have no trouble reaching up my stairs (two bends included) and I never have to unplug throughout the whole house! Emptying is simple, I like how the system strips down providing easy maintenance.If you are deliberately looking for a steerable vacuum or no cable then look to another vacuum however, I have no issues with these features.I wonder if Vax could make a steerable stretch!For a (under £100) vacuum, this Vax really does perform and doesn't leave a drop behind in my house.

After owning another Vax for 11 years, I was happy with buying another Vax. The main reason was that our current one was very heavy, and this model is 3.9kg lighter. We were about to order one of the cheaper models, but on trying out the extended hose in the store, thought the ability to clean the whole of the stairs with the cleaner at the bottom could be a really useful feature.So today I got it out of the box. Wasn't hard to assemble. It was easy to use. The cleaning power compared to the old one was AMAZING! Literally got dirt out of the carpet that could have been there years. I am assured that the carpet had been cleaned 3 days ago and we'd hardly been in the house since.

We didn’t really need a new hoover but I liked the idea of an upright to save on space...Researched lots of different makes and models. Had heard good things about other, more expensive, brands but couldn’t justify the spend. Sold our old hoover but before we let it go I hoovered downstairs. Vax arrived the next day and I thought there wasn’t any point in ‘testing’ as the floors had been done the previous day. Set it up anyway and was shocked!Went over the rug and it picked up so much stuff - embedded pet hair mostly (we have a cat) that I didn’t even realise was down there. So impressed that we did the downstairs of the house again and the rest of the house! The carpets look almost new.

We bought this after having one of the cordless had held vax vacuum cleaners which we were really happy with. We were unsure at first but as we started to use it we were very impressed. It is extremely light weight so easy to get up and down the stairs. All the attachments fix on easily. The suction is strong and stready. With 2 dogs and 2 cats pet hair is a constant battle. This vacuum removed more pet hair from the carpets than our previous (non-vax, very expensive) vacuum with little to no effort at all. The turbo tool was fantastic on the stairs. My only complaint is the attachment did come off a couple of times so I had to be careful whilst using it.

I have been using this for a week and I love it. It is a lot lighter and a lot more efficient that my previous well named vacuum cleaner. It is also a lot quieter. The only difference to previous machine is that the cylinder is smaller so therefore requires emptying more often however, that is no big hardship. I have two large dogs so it fills very quickly. I get the impression that the VAX is getting dirt out of the carpets which has been there for a very long time! The other benefit is that you can dismantle the whole cylinder so that it is very easy to clean and wash out. The only other thing I would like to see is a larger cable hook for the cable as it is too small to hang the very

I purchased this a month ago and have used it many times. This was a transfer from a pull along Vax hoover which I have had for 7 years. The significant differences for me was the fact of the weight, getting used to increased weight in the movement was something I had to adjust too. The tools that attach on the area on the back of the upright does not seem to hold very well and can fall off quite regularly which is inconvenient when hovering large areas. However if you do not require them for the intricate spaces then removing them whilst hovering is not a major drama. The suction is very good and as with all Vax very easy to clean and buy additional filters. I have owned a Vax now over 7 years and will continue to do so.

I'm always cynical when a product claims to be better than any other in its field but I was really delighted when I used the Vax Air Stretch Pet Max. It is a well designed cleaner with everything thought through; from the extra length hose, to how all the tools fit together so well, and it's also really easy to use. It easily deals with cleaning skirting boards, the extending handle reaches the coving and ceiling with no problem, and does a really efficient job of cleaning carpet, floor tiles, lino etc, with its sliding adjustor. In addition, this cleaner is very good at getting close to the carpet edges. It is lighter than other similar types of cleaner but still does an excellent job.

bought this hover yesterday for my Father, he is 92 years young and wanted something lightweight, this fits the bill and he can do the stairs and leave the machine at the bottom of the stairs....no lifting...brilliant, the only Gripe I heard from him today and I agree as I have one, is that the cable is very very long and the cable grip is not substantial enough to hold all the cable, you can just about do it, needs a bigger hook on the hoover to compensate for this, of course my DAD is old school and asked about a "beater Bar", well with this hoover one is not needed, its brilliant at picking up ingrained dirt from deep pile carpets, oh! and he has a cat, which molts furiously everywhere,

The Vax is powerful, quiet & efficient. It comes with a good selection of tools and has long enough reach to do the whole flight of stairs. Like many modern vacuums, it can be a bit hard to push due to the powerful suction, but there is an adjustment for this. We have two pets that shed like crazy and the Vax had no trouble completely removing all the hair from carpets & rugs. Personally, I don't really rate turbo brushes for furniture as they tend to stall with only moderate resistance & this one is no exception, but the Vax performs excellently without it. A great feature is the button to switch off the brush bar while cleaning hard floors to prevent damage.

I bought this to replace the previous vax that I had had for 10 years. I was dubious as to the power as the old one was 2000w and this is 800. I'm pleased to say that the new one cleans just as well except that it's not so good at the edges. The power cord is too long and it's impossible to only unwind the length you need as the rest falls off anyway. Also not all tools store on the cleaner so it's a pain to find somewhere to keep them and then you have to find them when you need to use them. On the plus side, it's light and easy to use and the extending hose is brilliant for doing the stairs. Overall a very good cleaner although I'm not really a fan of purple.

Bought this hoover a few weeks ago as my old hoover (that we had been given) finally gave up and just stopped working... had Vax hoover before which is why we looked at them again. I can't believe we stepped away from this brand.... the suction on this hoover us superb and picks everything up... it is genuinely better than the Dysons we have had previously which goes to show you dont have to spend a lot to get more value for your money... the only thing im nit happy with is the holder for the tools doesnt hold them securely and they fall off im not fussed if i need them ill grab them from the cupboard. Definitely money well spent!
