I have had a dyson upright for 11years it needed yet another refurb so decided to try something a bit different. Having read reviews wasn’t entirely sure but the positive comments about suction convinced me. Good points: Royal Mail tracked delivered as predicted, lots of suction and pulled up a,ot of dust surprisingly quiet compared to the old school dyson, very light able to sit on step, pet tool was good for my drs carpet got some dried food sta8ns off once I got the hang of it yu need to hold at an angle, removing steel attachment to get just hose to do skirting board carpet edges easy and lots of suction, liked retractable cord.

Ok... SO... I saw some reviews stating this vacuum is horrible because you can't move it easily on the floor and that it would get "stuck" on carpet.Turns out that people who reviewed it like this had no clue on HOW to use it. I had a VAX of 2000 Watts (a wattage that was banned in Europe -unfortunately) that I simply LOVED it... It lasted for more than 6 years when a cleaner decided to block its tube and it "exploded". I trusted the brand and My first impression with this one wasn't very good, until I learned how to use it and noticed it is as potent as my old one, even though it is only 800 watts. It was built in a way that there is almost ZERO lost of suction and when it get's stuck on carpet you just need to open the vent.

Most of the reviews are great on this hoover, the bad reviews mainly say that a) the suction is too strong and b) the hose is too short.My initial thoughts... 'How can suction be too strong ?!?!' but it's quite a workout when hoovering :-PThere is a 'switch' that you can slide up or down on the hose to control suction which makes the hoover perfect. I would say the hose is on the small side but the hoover is so light weight that should you need to, you can simply pick up the hoover as it's very light.I love the attachments that come with it too. I'm a single man living alone in his humble abode. No maid nor companion to call upon for the household chores.Not that I'm a fan of doing the hoovering, but I do want to maintain some cleanliness in case the odd fair lady pays a visit, and this little thing is just perfect to turn my cave into something a little more "homely".Powerful suction - never mind those naysayers complaining it's too powerful - they're obviously not aware that this can be adjusted via the little slider on the hose.And the other common complaint - "oh the hose is too short"; well if it's any longer than it won't be as portable, would it? It's light weight and has wheels, so drag it with you for Pete's sake.Last but not least,

This machine is light and for the price, worth it. Got it for a family member who wanted a light machine and couldn't afford a certain brand.It works well, in fact the suction is good, very good for this brand. However.Be ready to only ever vacuum one room. The filter clogs up after less than 5 minutes of vacuuming. The suction is so good but the dust doesn't gather in the "bin". The dust gathers on the filter, then the machine loses suction. I suggest buying so many filters to replace the clogged one for you to be able to vacuum a 2 bedroom house in one go, budget for a filter per room. For the price of buying more filters,

I bought this on offer to replace a terrible Tesco vacuum cleaner that had lost all suction, and I'm so very impressed. It got so much dirt out of the carpets that I honestly can't believe I didn't notice and the accessories are very easy to use. I have an allergy to house dust mite so making sure that the carpets are clean is really important for my being-able-to-breathe and not-constantly-scratching-my-skin and I've definitely noticed that my allergies have stopped flaring up since we switched to this Vax one.The weirdest thing about it is that the vacuum smells really good? Every time I vacuum the house, it leaves a very pleasant smell.

Fantastic vacuum cleaner.I was looking for a new vacuum cleaner at around £60 - £70. I've been using Henry for the past 6 years and it had finally given up the ghost. I found it really heavy and cumbersome to drag around the house, also the bags didn't come cheap.So, I was kind of relieved when it died on me. My new Vax is amazing - it's incredibly lightweight, small enough to sit on a stair step, good price, a known brand, fantastic suction and the best of all, no bags. The cylinder is so simple and easy to empty.After using this vacuum. My carpets look so much cleaner. I've got cats and it seems to suck up the cat hairs embedded in the carpet easily. I can't recommend this vacuum enough.

We had an old VAX vacuum cleaner and had been very pleased with that so when it died after about 10 years we bought this one. It is lighter than the old one, so easier to pull around. The suction on our wooden floors and carpets is amazing, so much so that you have to have the air hole open most of the time just to be able to move the head.My only complaint is that the cable is quite a bit shorter than our old one so more unplugging and re-plugging is required.

My vac (or vax) came in darker blue color but not that I care, it's a vaccum after all. But it sucks, and in a good way, this things is very powerful, cleans well and for carpets or rug it works wonders. Very pleased with it. Only part I am not so thrilled about after having used it for a while:1. there is no way to attach or keep the accessories together2. the end of the vac gets stuck to tile because there is so much power.. minor issue

A small yet very powerful vacuum that is perfect for our home. It comes with a good array of useful tools and it's always good to have an auto cord rewind. As others have said the suction is so good that it can stick to the carpet, but you can alter the effective power by quickly sliding the adjustable vent at the top of the hose. Ordered late on a Saturday afternoon and arrived early on a Sunday morning thanks to Amazon Prime delivery.

I have lack of Arm strength problems but have managed to use this quite well. It picks up Cat Fur and thrown about Cat Litter very well. Our young Puppy is at the Chewing stage and this is coping with the remains of her Toys, Chewed foam Insoles pulled out of Shoes and it is Fantastic for getting Dried Mud Dust out of the Car. Oh and the Tubes from a Burnt out at 13mths Hoover Pet Cylinder Vac fit this Vax too. Bonus :-)

I love this vacuum ....it is a powerful little machine and the best I have used....even better than my old dyson. You can reduce the power of the suction just by pulling the air flow vent open by the handle if it gets too hungry and trys sucking up the whole carpet. The only down side is they could have made the lead a bit longer.

My old 2200 watt miele died and I was shocked to find it would cost £160 to repair so I decided to invest in a VAX. So far I'm very impressed. Plenty of suction, light weight and not too noisy. Only thing I don't care for is tendency to scratch wooden floors but I believe I can cure that.

Excellent. Had it for over a year. Works well. Powerful. Looks good. Compact. Relatively easy to clean the insides and remove any blockages. Does suck up carpets due to strong suction, but if you push hard enough you can still clean them.

A strong performer, does a great job cleaning and is light weight compared to previous. The cable could of been a tad bit longer but then again that depends on house parameters. Very satisfied with the price paid and quality received!
