This is a little bit long - but if you’re anything like me you’ll read lots of reviews before buying! I bought this a couple of weeks ago after reading many reviews on the best cordless handheld vacuum... I have a small-ish flat which doesn’t justify a large upright hoover and with my cats I needed something with a bit of “oomph” to tidy up after them and the hair... I tried a cheap “animal” cordless (*cough*SHARK*cough*) and it didn’t cut it and was forever having to go over what I’d just done with my Hetty which is a pain to drag around. Firstly this vacuum is LIGHT... I mean I’m not made of muscles and I’m not weak... but it’s easy to hold and it doesn’t feel like you’re carrying it around vacuuming at all...I’ve used it all around the flat, got under my sofas, vacuumed my sofas, got into every nook and cranny and it wasn’t a labour...Secondly - it’s versatile... it comes with all the attachments you need... I’ve used each one and it doesn’t lose suction and they all are easy to attach and use... Thirdly and most importantly... It is powerful... I haven’t had an upright that has the power this does... I’ve owned an “animal” Henry, a Hetty, a Dyson upright and a shark... and nothing can touch it... it has fantastic suction and the first time you use it - you will have to empty it out regularly as you use it through your household (now I’m not mucky in the slightest but it picked up all the embedded cat hair that I didn’t even realise was there). Brought up MY carpets like new.Fourthly - the ease of emptying is brilliant... point and slide the red bit (you will have to get your hand in there to pull hair out if it get caught near the top but that can’t be helped sometimes and isn’t a deal breaker in my eyes). I suggest emptying it at REGULAR intervals (after every room) before allowing it to pick up too much as some hair can get caught and it doesn’t let you use it until you empty and unclog. This is just common sense so again - not a deal breaker... The device and the “storage” wasn’t made to deal with the entire house load of hoovered up stuff, so don’t expect it to be like an upright in this department. Fifthly and almost last - the Dock is brilliant... it’s a fantastic way to store it and you can screw it in with just two screws anywhere you like (obviously near a plug socket) it holds 2 attachments to it plus the Dyson and it rests in the cradle and charges. Lastly - and this is the novelty on my part and should be taken in the good humour intended - it makes a really cool sound when you release the trigger while using it... There is a reason Dyson is a household name and the technology in this little handheld vacuum shows exactly why. I haven’t found a single negative in my experience with it. Worth the money - don’t waste money spending on anything else before getting this... it’s a large shorterm amount - but Dyson is quality craftsmanship that will last and is definitely worth the price tag...

I bought this V10 animal a couple of weeks ago, after much deliberating as to whether having to keep holding in the trigger button would be suitable for me as I have arthritis in my fingers. Well I needn't have worried as it is so easy to use and I don't even notice that it is there. I am absolutely delighted with the performance of this machine as it is so powerful. I have four cats, so there is quite a bit of fluff around, also four adults in the house. When I first used it the bin was getting filled up quite quickly and I had to empty it several times in the space of about half and hour. I took to carrying a small rubbish bag around so I wouldn't have to keep going back to the kitchen !I bought this to replace my corded Dyson, which I soon realised had become very inefficient over the years and had become too heavy for me to use easily, especially on the stairs. Although it has 3 power settings I can honestly say, I haven't found the need to use it on any other setting than the lowest one as the suction is so good, even when doing the stairs and using the small motorised tool. I am able to vacuum all of my 4 bedroomed house in one go and the battery has never run out..... so far ! I have heavy fabric curtains and have used the dusting attachment on them to remove cat hairs, which worked a treat. I have carpets in every room, except the bathroom and I find that the normal floor tool is fine on the solid floor covering. I find this machine lightweight and easy to carry up the stairs, it is just so easy to use. I have also used the small "stair" tool on my furniture to remove the cats hairs, which is very efficient. Being cordless and just a stick, it is now so easy for me to vacuum the carpet tiles around my kitchen furniture. I used to have to move all the chairs out to get underneath the table, and then move the table to get to the rest of the floor. Now, apart from pulling a chair out of the way, I can reach everywhere. I just wish I had bought this much earlier, although, I am glad I took my time as I was originally looking at the V8 animal, but changed my mind as the bin on this one is larger. Now, I can go though the house in one go, without having to empty it until I've finished. I do vacuum every day now as it is so quick and easy. Fantastic. I've been a Dyson owner for many years, having bought the DC01, when they first appeared, then the DC07 some years later. I really wouldn't buy any other brand and highly recommend anybody thinking about buying one of these machine to do it. I know they are pricey but in my opinion, worth every penny.

I am currently an owner of a V6 and have been for approx. 4 years. I genuinely thought that all my needs were met by the V6 and only recently decided to purchase a V10 because my V6 unfortunately has decided to give up. Nevertheless, I wasn’t too bothered as I’d been eyeing up the V10 as of late and needed a valid excuse to spend so much on a vacuum without being judged by my parents. Today was the first day I used the V10. It is important to bare in mind that I vacuum the entire downstairs daily and vacuum the entirety of the top floor approx. twice a week. Therefore, I had only vacuumed downstairs yesterday and upstairs approx. 3 days ago. Unfortunately,I don’t have photos or videos to show the contents of the cylinder after having vacuumed downstairs but I do after having vacuumed upstairs. To say that I am impressed with the suction power of this vacuum would be the biggest understatement in the world. Also, the 60minute battery life (on standard rate) is another aspect that made me take the plunge. I never really struggled with the 20minute battery life on the V6 as it only takes approx. 10 mins to vacuum one entire floor, but it feels good knowing I don’t necessarily have to rush. It’s also definitely helpful to be able to see the battery life as the V10 has a visual indicator as to how much the vacuum is charged. Another thing that I like about this vacuum is the tools provided. The mini motorised tool is perfect for stairs and will also most likely be used for when I vacuum my car. And though I know performance is everything, it also helps that the vacuum looks nice and sleek. It took me a while to take the plunge and purchase this vacuum but I’m glad that I did. I read so many mixed reviews and was worried that it wouldn’t be as great as it’s made out to be. I would definitely say that the price point is worth it and don’t regret making a slight dent in my savings.I would also like to point out that I purchased this specific V10 as I have a cat who I actually thought doesn’t shed that much hair (but the vacuum proved me wrong as it picked up so much cat hairs!!!!!)

I have had a cylinder Dyson Animal for about 6 years now, and when I clean the filters, it still sticks to the floor with the suction, it is an incredible hoover, but because of health issues, back pain etc I purchased a cordless Vax 32 volt blade hoover, good for short haired mats, and that's where it ends, any decent size crumbs, and it used to drop them back out, hen the machine was switched off, then it just died and wouldn't charge anymore, so I looked at a Shark and this Dyson v10 animal, even though, there was £130 of a difference, I ordered this, and I am so glad I did, half the eight of my Vax, has 3 suction modes, and even though I have tried all 3, lowest mode is perfect, and I have a dog and an indoor rabbit, who likes to kick her sawdust everywhere, but the hairs and dust are no match for this thing, you get the main shaft and rotor brush, plus four attachments, a great wall holder, which allows you to hide the wire and connect it in such a way, that all you do is drop the Dyson into the holder, and it connects to the charger, the only design fault I have with any part of this hoover, is the holder only has room for 2 of the attachments, apart from that, I can find no fault whatsoever with this Dyson, people have mentioned the fact you have to keep your finger on the trigger while you hoover, as a small problem they don't like, but the trigger is so light, it has caused me no problems at all, and I have painful fingers because of Fibromyalgia, this is truly an amazing piece of kit.

I have arthritis, everything seems more difficult and I fall over cables. I looked at all the cordless vacuums, tried them out, and concluded that they all had a major disadvantage except the Dyson, which seemed to be perfect for me, although the price made me cringe. I put it together myself and it just went click, click, click. I powered it up on a nearby plug and it was ready to use in an hour. I hoovered and laughed with delight as it was so light and easy. I did the stairs with a small attachment to the top. I emptied it into the kitchen bin with no dust cloud. Everything is click, click, click. In time I'll get the wall hook done, but at the moment it leans on the wall near a plug and is no trouble there, although it sometimes slides over so it would be easier hanging up. There are 3 settings and the suction I'd describe as: strong enough/strong/super suction. Obviously the more suction, the faster you run the battery down, but it charges up pretty quickly. I would say it's a perfect replacement for my corded vacuum, and in addition can just be wheeled out as a quick carpet sweeper to pick up spills. I'm expecting it to last a long time for the money, and Mr Dyson says the battery will last 10 years so I won't have to replace that. My only disappointment is that Mr Dyson says he is moving his work base to Singapore which I feel is an appalling betrayal of the British people. Had I known that first, I wouldn't have bought it. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

As a previous owner of the V6 I was well aware of the product limitations, namely:1) short power time (~20mins)2) the need to use a pencil or stick to empty the vacuum3) Lack of suctionIn the V10, Dyson appear to have addressed all of these issues. I was able to vacuum a four bed house, on a variety of floors (wood / LVT / carpet) without needing to recharge. The vacuum had to be emptied five times in total as the capacity is not huge however it empties easily, and without mess or dust flying everywhere. It did get blocked once with some fluff (the unit vibrates to tell you its not working properly) however it was easy to unblock and only took a minute or two.The V10 appears more powerful than the V6 and sucked up everything easily; we used power setting 'I' for the hard floors and 'II' for the carpets which appeared to work sufficiently, and have not had the need to use the 'turbo' yet, however that is likely to get tested when we clean the car!The wall hanging charger has changed from the old model however the screw holes are in the same place so easy enough to switch over. The V10 Animal comes with 4 additional tools however there still does not appear to be anywhere to hang two of them, with the wall charger only having space for two.Overall, this is huge improvement on the V6 and now appears to be capable of vacuuming a house, as opposed to being solely a handheld for small cleaning jobs.

This is a very good vacuum cleaner. After living with a VAX cleaner for a couple of years you can understand why this statement is easy to deliver with some authority on the subject. This way I can cop out of trying to think of all the unique features & benefits of the Dyson 10 and focus on the VAX, and the lack of them. Here we go:the VAX didn't pick up objects larger than an atomic particlemore air escaped from the VAXs random apertures than someone with a continuous bronchospasmthe VAX has a wirethe VAX has more tools than Screwfix but I've no idea what any of them did - or how they attachedHappily the Dyson is better as it presents none of the above. The only small thing...if I was a Vacuum nerd (I'm not)I would be testing the battery life. I say this as I'd really like someone to come over and tell me or my family that I'm using the thing for more than the "battery life of up to 60 minutes in handheld mode" as the thing seems to have run out of gas on a couple of occasions. (by the way - what isn't "hand held mode??" - anyhow, given I'm not looking to lose an hour a day out of my life cleaning carpets, this doesn't seem to be much of a problem if the fully charged battery lasts for 41 minutes only...It's a really good machine. It picked up a crinkle cut crisp yesterday and I was filled with admiration and even told my wife about it.Perhaps I'd better stop now...

We now have a V10 Animal having previously owned a V6.There are multiple improvements over the V6!The house is approx. 130 square metres and the V6 would not cope with this area despite most of the flooring is laid as hard surface, only one room is fully carpeted along with the stairway. It required the use of the mains power Dyson vacuum as well. However, the new V10 manages to cover the whole house on the second power setting with the use of the powered head unit.It also now benefits from a battery charge indicator- so you know how much power you have left.Changing the accessories is now much simpler and naturally intuitive compared to the older V6 machine - removing and inserting theaccessories was awkward and appeared ‘back to front’.The suction on the highest setting with the V10 is truly impressive! The V6 suffered from an inability to completely remove the dust/dirt from the cyclone chamber -no matter what implement was used to attempt the complete removal from around the top rim. The new V10 has no such issues now, as the chamber is cleared automatically when lowering the clear outer chamber from the machine body- no more messy fingers. Well done Dyson. The V10 wall holder unit is also a much-improved version, despite appearing the same it now 'loads from the top' as opposed to inserting from below which makes it 'feel safer and secure' to leave in the unit.

I love love love this hoover it is fantastic, i had the henry before and thought that was good but this is just fantastic it picks up sooo much, i have 3 young children and the carpets where losing the life in them but with this hoover it picks up that much it is actually bringing them back to life i hoover every day sometimes twice a day and there is still loads of dust it picks up that u dont eve realise, it is really good to use from hard floor to carpet as well with no changing settings, you can use a low medium or high setting mine is always on high, and it doesnt take as long as you think to charge neather, after every use i put it back in the holder which also puts it on charge of set up right, then its ready to go when you need it, it is abit uncomfortable on your hand but thats the only bad thing i can say about it but its so light you can swap hands if you want and doing the stairs is so easy now, i love it so easy just to get out instead of messing around with a wire and heavy hoover, i have a 3 bed house with 7 rooms a hall and a landing and it does all that and still has battery left to do another few rooms, great buy (my husband is complaining about the price but it is sooo worth it) i would highly recommend it to everyone, my mum has the v8 one and she says the same best hoover we have both ever bought.

I had the V6 model of the Dyson cordless, which when bought was one of those eureka style moments where I wondered why everyone didn’t have one. The V6 is in perfect working order and after serving me well, through some challenging DIY projects, it has been retired to the upstairs.I bought the V10 hoping for the same quality and ease of use. I have a cat that generally leaves 10% of its fur in the living room carpet, so I needed a successor to the trusty V6.There is a trend in recent times where manufacturers have tried to cut costs and I did research alternatives for comparison. Brilliantly Dyson had seemed to invest and improve their product into an evolution of their design and improve what was thought impossible to better. In use the V10 is very pleasant to use, vacuuming is not a chore anymore. From the moment I pick it up, it’s solidness but light construction offers the feeling that it is ready for business.I tend to keep the power setting on medium as it’s more than powerful enough at this setting, and it’s cleaning power has to be seen to be believed. The cleaning task is dealt with very quickly and effortlessly, job done. The V10 emptying system is a great improvement and impressed me most, with its simplicity and non contact with the dust and cat hairs.Well done Dyson!

I know this sounds ridiculous but I almost (I did say ‘almost’!) enjoy housework now! This vac is simply the best! We have gone through countless ones in the past...they’ve either broken, been pathetic or needed filters/bags every five minutes. This new cyclone is incredibly powerful; it is terrific at picking up our black spaniel’s long hairs which turn our oatmeal carpets grey. We borrowed my son’s corded ‘animal’ version beforehand because he was raving about it but we fancied cordless because I have various health issues and didn’t want to lug the thing up and down the stairs. This new cordless one is SO easy to use AND the small hand-held bit is flipping amazing on the stairs; I kid you not ,our stairs get very bad and when I first used this on one stair, it was like the old Flash advert, with a clean stripe in the middle! I do have to empty it a lot because Sweep’s hairs are everywhere but in rooms where he doesn’t go, emptying isn’t so bad and it’s a small price to pay for such clean carpets. My husband has mounted it on the wall and it’s really easy to just pick up and use for just little areas now, a thing I didn’t do before. I love it! (Still hate housework but this goes a long way to making me smile!)

Simply cannot believe how good this vacuum is! Pondered over which vacuum to choose, Dyson, G Tech, Shark, Vax but so glad l trialled the V10 Animal as it's unbelievably good. Intially would never have considered a cordless but now so glad l did.The machine is so light and easy to use, just take it out whizz round and all done in a fraction of the time from my previous corded machine. So manoeuvrable, gets into all the places my old one couldn't without pulling off the hose and attaching brushes, the V10 gets everywhere, so close to skirting boards, under radiators, tables, and chairs. Doing the vacuuming is no longer a chore, simply a treat, even my cat doesn't run away now but just sits and watches as it's so quiet yet so powerful, even on the normal power setting. Battery life is more than enough to do the whole house, lounge, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, three bedrooms, hall and vestibule and can be fully charged in a couple of hours. Can't recommend the V10 highly enough other than that my wife and l all but argue who's using it! Intially my wife was against spending so much on a vacuum but now that she sees how easy and versitile it is she considers it great value for money.

I spent a long time debating whether to buy this vacuum or not... I spent hours researching this vacuum and others along side it. I’m so glad that I bought it!My mum recommended this vacuum and let me try hers out. I was very impressed, hence why I chose this vacuum over all others. I’m a new mum and I need something I can just whip around the house with great ease. It does not disappoint! The charge is good and I don’t feel that I need to put the power up, so I use it on the lowest setting. The first time I went around my carpeted rooms, I had to empty the bin numerous times per room. I was gobsmacked to see how much fluff and dirt it pulled up! I’ve use it as a hand held vacuum for the stairs and to get in hard to reach areas,it is fantastic. I’ve also used the handheld in the car. I’ve been impressed with the battery life. Using on higher power obviously impacts on the battery life. I also find I don’t have to vacuum every day, as it is so efficient at picking up the dirt. The height of the wand is just spot on, one doesn’t have to bend or be hunched up. I find it very light too. Overall I’m delighted with my purchase and I would have highly recommend this vacuum.

Before it arrived I'd already vacuumed that day with my old compact bagged unbranded vacuum. On the surface my carpet looked clean and the bag had filled up but it didn't feel like it really did much . Once this was charged up I tried it out and it picked up loads and there was a huge suction difference between the two. My only concern is that it picked up a few long hairs that got wrapped around the silver filtery bit and I can't get it out. Getting rid of the rest of the dirt really is quick and easy though, waay better than the bagless my grandma has. It's doesn't hurt my hand keeping my finger pressed down on the button to vacuum either. To reiterate, at the moment,my only concern is the hairs wrapped around the silver bit that I couldn't eject. Once I figure that out it will be full stars from me. Also as I rent I didn't use the docking station in the wall, but I still put it together (without any of the screws etc) and put the charger through it. I remove any attachments and use it as a docking stand on the table horizontally. Also I love that I can vacuum my laptop keyboard with it (with one of the attachments)

It’s a fab Hoover. I absolutely love it. Had a heavy Hetty that I used to drag about the house and lug up and down the stairs so this is a god send. The power is great. So easy to use. Attachments fit easily and it’s pretty light, and not mega noisy. It doesn’t do that long on high power and so a spare battery would be good. It’s my first ever cordless and totally lived up to my expectations. Just a few tweaks however would be welcomed. There’s no on/off button and so your finger is permenantly on the trigger as mentioned, It would also be nice to be able to get one that isn’t purple too. I don’t mind purple but would be nice to have other colours to choose from, as can choose colour of spare wand.I chose copper which I love. I also have the purple wand( that wasn’t a choice!), but would be good if could choose both colour of wands but also the actual colour of Hoover itself apart from purple. Purple, red and grey are lovely colours but clash a little. A little more sleek and modern in colour would be welcomed. However top marks for a fantastic Hoover. Thank you so much I’m very very grateful and happy with it.
