I’ve had the original AirRam for a few years and still really appreciate how easy it is to use. It’s so easy to just pick it up and clean without really thinking about it. The mains powered hoover was a hassle to get out and set up, and then you have to get furniture and things out of the way so the hose and flex doesn't knock them over. Instead of wondering whether the floor dirty enough for it to be worth the hassle, now I just grab the Airram, press the switch and clean up in the same time it would take to set up for the corded hoover. In fact, it’s almost fun (it's very manoeuvrable) and I tend to plan the rest of the day whilst doing a quick cleaning with the Gtech. This new ‘Mark 2’ version of the AirRam is redesigned in every area. The overall concept is the same, but it's a bit more stylish (I think) and there are new features. The handle lowers, and in fact the entire handle unit can be removed by a button on the back. Not quite sure how useful this is, but it does mean it can be packed away quite easily should you need to do that. The battery unit is a different shape and has the charge remaining lights on the battery itself, so if you take it out of the base unit to charge you can still see how it getting on. The main switch is now on the base unit, and you turn it on by pressing a large pad to the side of the handle with your feet. The new “airlock” tab feature increases the gap height at the front when pushing the vacuum forward so as to pick up larger objects (e.g. coffee beans, cereal, etc…), and then on when pulling it back the tab along the front closes down which increases the air suction, for picking up dust (flour, spilt sugar, etc.).Comparing this Mk2 with the original Airram:I think the performance is about the same; some people say they prefer the original (Mark 1) AirRam, but I haven’t noticed a difference in terms of how effectively it picks up fluff and bits. Perhaps it depends on what sort of carpets, laminate, etc. you’ve got, and what sort of hair/fur you’re picking up?The brush-bar in the Mk 2 is a one-piece unit, so there isn’t that gap in the hoovering in the middle that you get with the original AirRam (which most brush-bar hoovers have). The really big advantage with the new design is that you take the brush-bar out buy just pressing a button on the side; with the original you had to unscrew 4 bolts to get them out for cleaning or removing tangled up hair.It is quite a bit quieter than the Mk1, which sometimes makes a roaring noise with the brush bars being at such a high speed. This version is a lot more muted. The new dirt container is SUPERB! You yank it out, unclip the side lid over a bin, and then slide the green tab along and it gets rid of most of the fluff in a controlled manner. Sometimes I find that a bit of fluff gets stuck at the end, but sliding the tab back releases this and bin is completely empty. Occasionally I have to pull a bit out, but most of the time, with the woollen carpet fluff I get in mine, all the dirt is out in one ‘forward and back’ slide. The light strip across the front is good, handy when vacuuming behind a sofa or cupboard. It’s not too bright and you can’t see it directly when standing behind the unit, so it doesn’t get distracting or annoying.Overall, this Mark 2 is still a great and effective cordless vacuum cleaners, with a load of new and updated features.

We have been through many different brands and styles of vacuum cleaners, currently we have the Gtech, a cordless Hoover and two Robot vacuum cleaners which are working and a pile of others (vax, dyson, Morphy richards, AEG) that have long since died. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Overall though we are very pleased with the Gtech.Upon first inspection and assembly of the Gtech, I was a little dissappointed, the machine felt very plasticky (d'uh - it's plastic) and didn't have the premium feel to match the pricepoint. Assembly was simple and quick. Charging easy and near enough spot on for 4 hour charge time to full charge. It's light and fairly solid.Nothing feels like it's going to break imminently - but then nothing seems rock solid either. For the pricepoint Aluminium handles would have been my preference.Enough about the aesthetics - this thing will live in the cupboard and will be full of hair and dust after the first run so the cosmetics are a moot point. How does it clean. Our robot hoover goes round every couple of days to clear the main rooms in our house and collects a fair amount of dust and hair, we then go around with the cordless Hoover to pick up what is missed which reveals a small amount of dust and hair, mainly from corners. This time however we used the gtech and were both astounded by the amount it grabbed our of our mix of carpet, antica and wood flooring. it gets pretty close to the skirting, certainly no worse than any other upright cleaner and after a 15 minute whiz around there were three segments left of the four on the battery display so 40 ish minutes sounds about right for run time. It's no quieter to my ears than other brands and slightly heavier to push around carpets as the head assembly is holding the motor, collection bin and filters, but this extra weight helps catch more dust. Talking of dust, the dust ejection system where you 'don't have to get your hands dirty' is a bit of a misleading sales point - I still needed to pull dust and hair out the 'tube' to empty it. Everything slotted together nicely and with a positive click though. In summary the gtech is purely a floor cleaner and can't multi task like some of it's rivals which have attachments- however the battery life is excellent and it does what it does really well. Most people have a handheld vacuum cleaner now anyway and I'm unwilling to mark the gtech down for something it has never claimed to do. It is definitely the king of cordless floor cleaners, however Dyson is still the handheld queen.

I've only had this cleaner for 5 hours and I'm over-the-moon with it's brilliant design and user-friendliness. It had enough charge in the battery straight out of the box to try it out once assembled and it seemed quieter than any we've had before. Plenty of suction, plus it's light weight and so easy to push around. Battery charged up in 3 hours. The cassette dust box is such a good idea and clean and easy to use. The cleaner came recommended by a friend who has owned one for a few months and they are delighted with it. They told me they'd recommended it to 6 people including me, and all of them had good reports about it. I can only think that those who post up negative reviews on it,with the grumbles being about flimsy weak components must be those who don't know how to treat electro-mechanical things with respect. My motto is "If a lever doesn't easily move from parked position to where you want it to be in use, then consult the manual as there is probably a release catch you haven't read about in the user guide - don't force it unless you want it to snap and breakdown permanently" In other words don't be brutal with it, as it's not an industrial heavy-duty item it's a domestic one. There are plenty of useful accessories and spares offered on sale and a customer service contact. The company is in Worcester and so I'm wondering if it's British made but probably it's one of those products designed in the UK but made under British supervision in the Far East. So summing up - it's superb value for money and makes the task of vacuuming a real doddle. I could even get to like vacuuming floors at this rate and not hope my wife will do it ! Oh and 'by the way' it's so light and easy to push around that I can use it while tootling around in a wheelchair - that information may help anyone who could use it who is confined to a wheelchair but can self-propel.

Wanted one for ages and now I finally have one and I’m so pleased. My previous aeg rapido cleaner had finally given up the ghost so got the gtech to replace. Had it over a week now and I’m impressed on all levels.Suction is very good and for the first time in a long time I have lines in my carpet, and the carpet itself looks so much brighter and I’m not surprised when I see all the grey dust I empty out of the canister . I have a dog and my front door opens into the lounge so sees a lot of traffic. It really does pick up ground in dog hair, which I could see before, and picks up a lot of dust. Cleans fairly well at the edge too.To empty it so easy, take it out, hold over the bin and use the slider.Done! No more putting my hand in it, grabbing all the dog hair and general muck. In a week I’ve only emptied it twice and I vacuum once sometimes twice a day, it holds a lot. Haven’t washed the filter as only had a week but looks very easy and unlike dyson and others the filter is foam which doesn’t take days to dries.Brush roller is easy to access as I have long hair and I do have to remove it often from brush bars. The battery lasts exceptionally well. I haven’t a huge house, small 2 bed but I have only charged it once and I have been all over the house once and I vacuum downstairs throughout once a day plus a quick whip round and it’s still got 3 lights left on the charger.I like the fact it doesn’t have a wall plate charger as I haven’t got anywhere to put it, the battery pulls out easily and I like the illuminated charger symbols so it doesn’t have to be on charge all the time, unlike my previous one.Was very easy to put together, easy to steer and very lightweight and quiet I find and It has filled my expectations, I’m happy

It's been a good few months since I've been using my gtech air ram mk2 so I though that now would be the best time to leave a detailed review. The cordless vaccume cleaner comes in a small compact box and only consists of 3 pieces, the base and the handle which all slot together. It's not the best looking cordless nor is it the ugliest. The one thing which I found really impressive about the gtech is the battery life. I can do my 3 bed house 2 times before needing to recharge. And most of all it runs for the claimed full 40mins The charging time takes 4 hours which isn't long at all.The gtech is light and easy to monouver. It works very well on carpets and even better on hard floors. On hard flooring the gtech creates a solid suction picking up everything in sight. The light is a good feature as it allows to see dust and dirt that sometimes be missed.Cleaning the dust canister was easy. A quick tip after each time after you empty the dust canister pull out the filter and use an upright to suck up all the dust on the filter. This way you do not need to wash the filter and wait hours for it to dry. Also the filter will last alot longer. In my 3 months using the gtech I have also had the following problemsThe red felt protector pads on the bottom of the base have peeled off. New ones have been sent by gtech under it's warrantyBoth the wheels had come off at different times. The actual clip that holds them in place had snapped. Again replacement wheels was sent to me under warranty.Despite the minor problems the Gtech is a marvellous cordless. It had really made my life easier. Cleaning the house takes less time and less effort.

We have had a Gtech K9 for around 3/4 years and have nothing but good to say about it. A year or so ago our cat was diagnose with kidney failure, meaning that she drinks a lot and therefore wees a lot. She rarely used a dirt tray for the majority of her life, preferring the garden, and it is now evident that she is absolutely useless at it! Litter everwhere around her 3 dirt trays, both upstairs and downstairs, and trails of litter all round the house.I got fed up running up and downstairs to get the hoover, so decided to buy a reasonably cheap stick hoover. Probably a good one for 'normal' use - but useless at picking up litter, so I bit the bullet and forked out on this one, knowing from the K9 that it would be good. It is. Brilliant. So much easier. It picks the litter up without a problem, collects fur like a pro, and is there whenever I need it. I'm not convinced it is quite as powerful as the K9, although certainly powerful enough, and the addition of the light in the front is really useful. Easy to re-charge and easy to use. The only thing I don't like about it is that some crazy design person thought it would be a good idea to have a clear cover on the dust container, which means all the dust and bits that it picks up are always on show. I just stuck some 3d butterflies on it - solves the problem and makes it look even better.I use it on carpets, rugs, hard floors and the stairs, and it picks up well whatever the surface although, with small cat litter granules, nothing beats a dustpan and brush on the stairs.

A brilliant piece of kit. I vacuumed using my Meile 'Cat & Dog' only a couple of days before this arrived. My bedroom carpet looked clean but I was amazed at the amount of dirt the Air Ram 2 found! The 'bloom' of fine dog hair and sock fluff (my ex used to hate that) that the Meile always struggled with (and it often resorted to me scrapping a soft rubber soled shoe across to lift it) the Air Ram 2 did away with in a couple of passes. It's too early to decide whether or not it's a vacuum cleaner replacement when used in conjunction with the Multi, which I also purchased, and is necessary to do the skirting boards, stairs, grab cobwebs, etc.The downside? The dust collector is not very big and will need regular emptying. In itself, that's not a problem and all the ads show how easy and cleanly it can be done. Yeah, right! Like all bagless systems (that is the beauty of the Meile although it's quite pricy, the bags are clean and easy to replace) it's simple to empty but not without a dust cloud, especially when knocking out the dust from the filter. So, if you are asthmatic or have a dust allergy you might want to consider this. It's to early to tell what the longevity will be but it looks and feels well made. It will be interesting to see how long the batteries last as well. but apart from that, it's light and manoeuvrable and cleans hard and carpeted floors well. Not being tethered by a chord is a huge bonus too. For me, this is a great piece of kit and a keeper.

We got this vacuum cleaner because our old one was just too heavy and cumbersome to bother carrying up and down the stairs just quickly get rid of some crumbs in the kitchen or small, everyday dust/dirt/messes that you just want to get rid of straight away. The battery life is great, I use it several times before recharging. It gets into corners surprisingly well, though we do have the drag out the old one once a month or so to get into the corners this one can't get to if it can't fit under something or into the gap between two pieces of furniture. In hindsight I probably would have considered purchasing a model that has a handheld attachment to get into all the nooks and crannies but I don't mind too much. The way the head swivels takes a few minutes to get used to initially, but I find I don't have any problems with it once I got the hang of it. The handle can be shortened when not in use to take up even less storage space.Cleaning it is very easy as well, and since buying it I've only had to properly clean the filter once, though it does take a very long time until it's properly dry again so give it at least a day before using it again. This is a very good vacuum, I'm really happy with this purchase, but its reach is limited by its size. If you're looking to buy this as your only vacuum I'd recommend getting something with a detachable handheld - unless you're happy to get those corners with a dustpan and brush

I wanted an easy lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner that did a good job on both laminate flooring and carpet. This is the 3rd vacuum that I have purchased and finally I have got the right one for me. The first one I purchased and returned was the Shark Duo Clean cordless vacuum, it was very powerful and good at picking up but because it was very powerful it was like it was self propelled so good in one way but when pulling the vacuum cleaner back it was hard and my arm started to hurt after a while, also you cant stand the vacuum up if you want to stop and start, although you can fold it in half to stand up but its just something extra you need to do.Then I purchased the Bosch Athlet cordless which can stand up and is quite powerful but in my opinion the brush head is not big enough and it is quite hard to push on carpet, I did however like it on laminate flooring as it picked up well on only the first quiet setting. I then purchased the Gtech Mk2 K9 direct from gtech and I love it, just what I wanted, everything is so easy and it does pick up well on laminate and carpet. I would say that all in all, the Shark was the most powerful vacuum and if you are strong then it is a great option and the Bosch is great on Laminate but for me if you want a really easy to use, lightweight vacuum that picks up well even around edges then this one is ideal.

I bought this is August 2018 and wanted to wait to write a review until after I had it awhile. I did mean to do it earlier.I hate hoovering/vacuuming. Really I do. But this one is so light and easy to maneuver that I don't mind. The fact that it doesn't have a cord also plays a huge part. So, here's what I like:- The weight. It is fantastic to be able to carry it easily with one hand.- It lies flat, so I can easily vacuum under the coffee table without having to move it.- It has a headlamp so in dim light, I can see and be appalled at the amount of dog and cat fur scattered across my hardwood floor at any given time.- The suction power on our carpets rivals that of the $2000 Kirby I had in America (although I did have 6 cats and 2 dogs at the time, and here in the UK I only have one of each).-Anyway, it has powerful suction. I had to empty the canister five times the first time I used it in our small bedroom, even though the room had been vacuumed regularly (by my husband).- Emptying it is easy and doesn't make a mess.- Changing the filter is easy too, and they can be washed. I like to tap them on the outside wall to clean them out before washings. (I bought extras).- It doesn't come with attachments, which is okay with me. If it did, it would lose a lot of the aspects I like about it.

This is my first cordless vacuum after using an old dyson for years. After one wiz around the house i was amazed how many hairs from my girlfriend it had collected as well as all the other dirt the dyson was failling to pick up. After just 2 days and another go around it picked up loads more, making me realise how dirty carpets get. Hair is really easy to remove from the brush, as the brush is removable and they have put a cut out where you can run scissors down it to cut all the hair off. Emptying is really easy too, and now i vacuum more regularly it does the house without needing a mid vacuum empty. The gtech is really easy to assemble out the box and is lightweight to carry up the stairs.Ive managed 3 whole house runs and there is still life in the battery. Ive read some people say it pushed some dirt around. If you want a vacuum that does everything for you pay a cleaner or pay twice as much for a top end dyson or something. For £200 i cannot complain. Also for people who says it feels flimbsy, dont go swinging it around your head and dont bash into things at full speed. I look after things i buy so im not worried about it. Woth buying the Multi with it as well for the stairs and tight places. It did a great job on my car with the car accessory kit.Overall im very happy.

Only had this for a day so not an in depth review but the hoover is very easy to put together using the included instructions and once assembled was a pleasant experience to use, my wife even commented it felt like it was pulling itself along which if you read the blurb it does. I've seen some comments that the dust collector is difficult or tricky to remove and empty but we didn't find this a problem at all. feels powerful and as we have builders in it was cleaning dust/lumps of reasonable size concrete and plaster from both carpets and wood floors alike. The lights on the front make it easy to spot your targets and to check the back stroke has cleared bigger bits away.It feels solid and well built and we could easy lift it up stairs using the carry handles.....the lack of cord is very freeing, the swivel handle made cornering and getting under beds and chairs so simple without having bend over too far to get it far into the dusty areas.Just one issue the package contains a green bush bung in a separate bag (label as brush bung on instructions) but doesn't say where how to use it so had to go on line to find out its only used of you use the cleaner without the bottom brush in.... would be handy if that was in instructions.Overall I'm a very happy customer.

Update: Having used this GTech for six weeks now, I have to say it's really bad at picking up dog hair from carpet. It's so frustrating because with each backwards sweep it drops what just been collected back on the carpet, making the whole process twice as long. It's great with crumbs and other debris so the rest of my review still stands but I'd say it's ideal for hard floors or a home without pets that shed fur. We've only had this vacuum cleaner for a week so I can't rate for durability but so far I seriously love it.It does a great job of picking up the bits, including dog hair, and is really easy to manouevre. I was surprised to find the build looks rather flimsy for the cost but I suppose that's to keep the weight light, which it really is. Carrying the Gtech upstairs is no problem at all, and I no longer dread "getting the hoover out".The battery life is much better than a previous cordless brand we had; its performance exceeds the posh, corded, bagged vacuum cleaner we already have; and empyting it is far less messy than others we've used. The sliding mechanism means all the dirt comes out cleanly, with no need to touch it.There are no tools with the Gtech, so nothing to deal with crevices, but I find it picks up pretty close to the edges.

OK, bought this to replace a Henry (heavy) and a Dyson (clunky). The Gtech certainly isn't heavy or clunky. Simple self assembly. It's wonderful to zip along without a cord and it's a joy to operate as it's so light and easy to steer. I can carry it up stairs with one finger which is a welcome change from lugging the Henry up and down. Battery easy to charge and filter easy to change. You will be amazed at how much this machine picks up, far, far more than my previous vacs and a doodle to empty too.The downsides? It comes with a silly little plastic plug to fit in for hard floors, the plug is loose with no where to store it on the machine. Long pile carpets completely defeat it,we only have one but the Gtech gets tangled straight away. My other gripe is a biggy - no way of getting into corners or along the side of skirting boards, where we have cream carpet fitted I can now see a line of grime round the outside of the room, it does make you realise how essential a hose is! The answer, of course, is to buy a hand held Gtech for these areas, wish we'd bought the two together.Where this cordless wizard would shine the brightest is in hotels/offices/care homes as a quick and effective daily sweep through with no cord trip hazard.

I purchased one of these approx. two months ago and have been very impressed so far. Dead easy to set up and use and the charger is not some cupboard hugging monstrosity, just a standard mains adapter that easily will fit in a drawer. Charging takes about 2-3 hours from empty and I can easily do my three bed house 2-3 times without having to plug it in. Construction is sturdy and the lines are clean and simple. The middle handle is a nice touch (both have a slightly textured grip) and I use that when doing the stairs with the main handle unextended. Carrying it is easy with this too and it stores compactly and steadily bolt upright with the handle down too.In use it is quick and manoeuvrable with the advantage of a low profile enabling you to reach places that no Dyson Ball can. That said, the suction power I would say is approx. 80% of my trusty Dyson DC24 but that rarely sees much daylight these days - only when I need to use the tools for skirts etc. Emptying is a quick and painless process. All in all, so far so good and a great device for sub £200.I will update this review with any developments down the line. Please ask any questions and leave a helpful vote if you found this review useful.
