I am very fussy about vacuum cleaners, for 2 reasons in particular:-1. I have a dog with white fur which moults all year round and I need a vacuum which will lift dog hair2. I am allergic to house dust mite and I vacuum frequently to try and control thisI am already a fan of Vax cleaners and I already own a Vax Air Lift Pet Max. This is an upright vacuum which has superb suction power, indeed I would say it has the best suction power of any vacuum I have ever owned. However, it is quite heavy and bulky and doesn't get into corners or narrow spaces (it has tools and also converts to a hand held but sometimes it is just too much of a palaver to do this).I felt that a lightweight cordless vacuum would be a very useful appliance to have and so it has proved. I live in a bungalow and my husband has fixed the bracket to the wall in the hall, next to an electric socket. I leave it to charge and all I have to do is lift it down when I need it. It is lightweight and manoeuvrable and gets into all those corners and tight spots that my upright cleaner cannot reach. If you just want a quick vacuum, for example, to pick up crumbs in the kitchen, this is ideal. You can just grab it, do the job, and then hang it back up. It has been well designed and is extremely easy to use. You don't need to keep referring to the instructions to remind yourself how to use it. It is very easy to empty the dust container and to convert it into a hand held cleaner. It comes with 2 tools - a crevice tool and a dusting brush but you can also buy a pet/stair tool. Once charged, you get around 35 minutes cleaning time which I found was sufficient to vacuum my 3 bedroom bungalow. It would be particularly handy if you have stairs to vacuum. I also found it extremely useful to vacuum my caravan which is kept in the driveway of my house. I used to have to connect my other vacuum to an extension lead and then run the cable through a bedroom window. This was a bit of an operation and it is now so easy to just take my cordless cleaner and lift it out to the caravan. All in all, I am delighted with this cordless vacuum and I am happy to recommend it to others. I will continue to use my upright cleaner for a deep down clean once a week and will use the cordless cleaner as a top up clean a couple of times a week. I have one grumble about this - it is uncomfortable to hold. The handle is very angular and does not sit comfortably in the hand. It would be much better if the handle was round and covered in something soft like rubber. Apart from this minor fault, I was very impressed with this vacuum.

UPDATE - Feb 2018:The vacuum broke down after just 3-4 months of not so frequent use. It's brush bar got stuck - presumably the bearing jammed. I couldn't buy a replacement one and contacted Amazon - got a new vacuum in just a few days. Amazing service as usual. Still love the vacuum and hope this one will last for years - not months. Also noticed that the filter structure is different, so it seems that Vax were trying to improve the model. Hope that the brush bar also was changed as it's hard to believe I'm the only one who faced the issue.----I bought Dyson DC62 cordless vacuum a few years ago (it was the high end model), was quite happy with it and at one point it fell down from its vertical position and the container cracked.I fixed it, but still - our relationship with Dyson wasn't the same anymore. Then a bit later battery pretty-much died and I wasn't planning in getting a new one. Then I bought another high end cordless vacuum from AEG and it turned out to be quite bad - way less powerful suction that Dyson. It was sturdier, had a way better battery life etc., but none of that matters when your vacuum sucks at sucking dirt. I started considering Dyson V8, but my previous "build quality" experience and its price hinted that I was crazy. Then I started checking for other options and saw this Vax. After reading quite positive reviews on Amazon and reading a few full reviews elsewhere - I decided to give it a go. OK, I vacuumed my 200 m2 house 3 times only, but if compared to AEG - it's amazing. Battery life is great. Wasn't enough for the whole house in its turbo mode though, but 20+ minutes is so much better that those 6 minutes Dyson was able to squeeze out from itself. Then it looks nice and feels solid, but that comes at the price - Dyson was noticeably lighter...but maybe that's why it was that flimsy. So, why 4 stars then? Well, not because of its weight and battery life - it's still quite light and not everyone has such big space to clean. It's because of its brush (which is not easy to clean from hair - Dyson had the same problem) and because of long battery charge cycle. Yes, it's a big battery, but if you have 2 more rooms to clean and battery dies - don't expect to finish the job 1 hour later. But these drawbacks are quite minor, so I definitely recommend the product. Oh, and additional tools for it cost so much less that Dyson expects you to pay.

I had already bought an earlier version of this cleaner Vax TBTTV1T1 Cordless SlimVac 22.2 V Total Home Vacuum Cleaner, 0.6 L - Graphite Silver/Rose Gold and this new model is a great improvement in performance and operating time.I have however found that the filters seem to require a wash at about the same time as it needs a charge in order to maintain peak performance.Un-boxing, is easy and no tools are required except to attach the wall mount bracket (comes with screws and plastic wall-plugs).It's charger is moulded into a 3 pin main plug and the end that goes into the cleaner has notches on it to avoid mixing your adaptors up.The LED light show on the rear and top of it will keep youentertained during charging as they will during use.The battery in this model seems to be built in with no information provided re removal or replacement (battery 1yr warranty, rest of machine via VAX website 2yr).The press power off/on button is on the rear and I have found some time during operation that I have switched it off with the palm of my hand, no a problem when you get used to it.On power up it starts always in full suction mode with the brush-bar motor off (no last mode memory which is a shame). The floor tool works well and can be fitted direct to the cleaner without the rigid wand as can the crevice tool and dusting brush.Note: Push the Crevice Tool and Dusting Brush in till they click, at first I thought they did not fit properly. The cleaner works well but I have found dust gets past what they call the "Separator" which is just like a plastic strainer in a coffee machine and requires washing along with the foam filter. The instructions says not to wash the "Separator" but it is the only way to get it clean and it is only plastic and rubber. The instructions also say such maintenance is required every 3 months or as needed (I have done it twice in 3 weeks).24hrs are required for the filters to dry.The Brush-bar is belt driven in this model which allows it to get closer to the walls (no drive mechanism at the end) which helps.I have also used it to clean the stairs which you can do from the step centre out with the powered brush head fitted direct to the cleaner. So other than the regular filter washing I am generally impressed, the multi-level battery gauge also helps let you know the charge and charging levels

Living in a house with two young children, the idea of a cordless vacuum cleaner sounds brilliant, and as a concept it really is. However, in reality, this still feels like technology that hasn't quite reached its potential. The first thing I noticed about this item is that it's actually pretty weighty, though the weight is all at the top. The shaft and head are very light, making it easy to manoeuvre. However, I do constantly find that the head seems to 'wobble' when moving back and forth over carpet (see video), which can make it quite awkward at times. It's not a deal breaker, but it is pretty annoying. The second thing I noticed is that the suction is adequate, but not great. When compared to a traditional vacuum cleaner it clearly lacks some suction power, presumably in a bid to extend the battery life as much as possible. With a 45 minute runtime (on this 32V model at least - other models have less than this), the battery life is sufficient, but in a few years' time I expect we'll see models with a much longer battery life than this. It takes four hours to fully charge, which is fine, but again I'm sure this will improve as the technology matures.Really, none of these issues are deal-breakers, but they effectively mean I have to use this vacuum cleaner as a secondary cleaner alongside my traditional one. Once I realised this it actually made using it much more pleasurable. I save the big jobs for the traditional vacuum cleaner, and use this for odd jobs and when the kids are around. In that regard, it really is an excellent product. It saves a lot of hassle, and despite the weight of the handle it's much easier to get this out of the cupboard, especially with the lack of wires. Anyone with young children will also know how much toddlers like to play with wires and plugs, so it makes my life a lot simpler when I need to clean while watching my youngest child. If you're looking for a replacement for your main vacuum cleaner, then I'd think carefully about whether this is the right product. If you live in a small flat it's probably going to be fine, but for anything larger you'll probably need to keep your traditional vacuum cleaner too. However, if you just want to get a quick and easy vacuum cleaner to keep alongside your main one then this is almost perfect, and will save you a lot of hassle, especially around children.

I never leave reviews but felt compelled to do so for this product. I bought this as a easier option than dragging our Dyson Animal mains powered hoover out of the cupboard. We are both busy working parents and never seem to find the time to hoover as the Dyson is heavy, cumbersome and restrictive (cord length etc).I was considering buying a Dyson equivalent but the price put me off. I had heard bad reviews too about battery life etc. So I decided to go for this model as the battery life seemed to be better (reading other peoples reviews) and they were right. It took a few hours to charge up at first, which was to be expected and managed to hoover the whole of our house downstairs in 5 minutes, losing less than 1 bar of battery. Really impressed. What I didn't expect was how well the hoover picks up dirt and pet hair. We have a Springer Spaniel and our Dyson has always struggled to pick up everything. I was worried reading other reviews that this Vax wouldn't stand a chance, but its great, it was full of dog hair and dust when I came to empty it, which is also very easy 10/10. It is a little heavy at the top end, which is to be expected seems as it houses the battery, but its easy to push around and very manoeuvrable. The little bracket that comes with it to stand it against a wall safely is great too (see picture). The controls are easy to use, feels robust and it looks great as well in the blue and silver colour scheme.Overall very impressed. I have recommended this product to friends too and wouldn't hesitate to buy another in the future to replace this when the time comes. It has changed our life as our house is hoovered regularly without eating into the precious few hours we have free in our day. Thank you Vax and Amazon :-)

I am very impressed with this Vax TBT3V1B1 Blade Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. It takes about four hours to charge initially, but it provides a high standard of performance. It's not really a heavy-duty vacuum - it's hand held, after all, and only has a small capacity dust chamber, and not a greatly powerful motor, but in saying this, for doing hard-to reach areas, such as picture rails and high wainscots, it is excellent - a feather duster will simply knock the dust off - this sucks it up.Also, being the owner of two dogs who seem to spend most of their time moulting fur, it's very good for sucking up fur that makes it's way to the extremities of a floor, such as by skirting boards or next to kitchen cupboards. It's also very handy for sucking up grit out of the car, because of its eminent portability, although you may need some additional tools to the ones supplied to get a more satisfying result. When cleaning out the dust chamber, do so from the right hand side (where the Vax logo is situated). There's also a cleanable sponge in there, too.The cleaner comes with a handy wall bracket, where you can attache the cleaner to the wall above a wall socket to facilitate easy charging. To do this, you should mount the bracket with the long metal nozzle attached so it takes the weight. All in all, this is a very good vacuum cleaner, for its specific purpose - not for doing a whole big house. As a post -script to the review, please see the attached photo - this is a 'cake' of dog fur sucked up by this cleaner (bear in mind this is WITHOUT the pet fur attachment) - one dog moulting it's winter fur - 24 hours after the last cleaning. This Vax cleaner is SUPERB!

This is fantastic, but very expensive at £170. I also have a Bissell Multireach Cordless Vacuum for less than £100 (and their top range are on sale at £170). I am confident that this will cut your cleaning time by 50% because it is lighter and more flexible than traditional vacuums.Key Advantages1. Cordless, so you never have to worry about vacuuming your own electric cord, or going from plug to plug, or tripping up your children when cleaning the top of the stairs.2. Light, so you can vacuum the house without needing a rest to recover your aching back.3. Small and flexible, so that you can get into tight corners and under furniture, and between odds and ends, without having to switch attachments.4.Detachable hand vacuum, so if you spot a mess you can quickly and easily get to it without having to fire up the whole machine from under the stairs or cupboard.5. Longer vacuuming time at 45 minutes by 10 minutes over the 24v version.Key Disadvantages1. Small container, so if you have a big house you may need to empty it more than once.2. Not designed specifically for pets, so you may need to consider a different vacuum cleaner.3. Waiting for the vacuum to recharge if 45 minutes of hoovering is not enough time. But wait, there are a lot more advantages. It is perfect for cleaning the car without having to back your car up to the length of your power cord and extension. You can instantly leave it standing and it will stay where it is, upright. The future is cordless, but this Vax loses a star for the high cost, even though discounted. Make sure you look around before you buy.

The goods -1- it's lightweight and you can use the unit without long tubing - e.g. for stairs and window sills, and those hard to get to places like coving corners where he cobwebs and spiders hang out.2- via using the Boost function the suction is quite strong (in normal mode it seems wanting IMV) but not akin to a good mains powered unit - and this comes at severe impact to battery life - e.g. more like 20mins than 45 cited IME. Mine takes c.3 hours to charge from empty.3- the floor tool, where the head is powered from the battery in the main unit, is effective - it likes to walk itself.4- you don't need to hang it on a wall - i.e. the charger is loose, just akin to other wall-warts.Overall,I find mine is complementary to an aged and very heavy Dyson unit i.e. I used the Dyson for carpets and the Vax where I daren't risk the Dyson falling over and having to play with the plastic tubing and tooling up.The not so goods:a- not cheap but appears far better value than the cordless Dysonb- battery/run time for a lot of us will be shorter than cited and re-charging is lengthy - not very 'Green'?c- the floor head unit can dump dust/grit when turned off, being a reflection of the lower suction leveld- the 0.6L dust tank is small and the filters will very likely needed cleaning out and washing in short order - the primary filter got very dusty and clogged after only 2 runs.Summary - it's good but has limitations and if you have several carpets, I would retain a mains powered cleaner and use the Vax for easier tasks, where greater manoeuvrability and physical reach is required.

At last.. a cordless vacuum for hoovering the stairs....!This is a really lightweight vacuum...so easy to take it from room to room...and no cables and unplugging from the mains.Very easy to operate ...flick of a switch. The attachments are easy to swap over...it all seems very well thought out.So you can see the results of your work easily through the clear plastic unit. This is easy to open to empty straight in the bin..no bag either. The other side of the opening is a lockable section which has the filter...so you keep an eye on that and clean up when necessary. The charging doesn't take top long...a couple of hours ..and you can see the progress of charging with an indicator light.can't be exact about time before charge required...depends on cleaning regime....but I guess for a compulsive cleaner doing the works each day...probably a couple of days....but that's if you had carpets throughout..Which I don't.Ok..on to performance......I notice the wheeled attachment works very well on chunkier rug..gets good traction .Stair carpet is thinner...and I found the results not as good. Possibly not quite enough suction power? The motor is quite powerful and seems to cope with our surfaces... we have mainly wooden floors with rugs dotted around here and there. The extension rod can be removed easily and other attachments added more directly to the cleaner unit when required. So far this has proved to be a handy cleaner...it takes up very little space...and no winding power cables and storing long hoses and attachments. Charger is small and fuss free to plug in

OMG!!! What a product. Amazing. I did trust buying this Vax from lots of good reviews from Amazon. I had Dyson before. Couple of year old. We have two dogs and a cat. I tried very hard to clean the house and I'm asthmatic. Not very happy with Dyson. We decided to buy this Vax at last. We already have Vax carpet washer. It works wonder. So with amazing reviews from Amazon we bought this 5 days ago. Wow! Every tiny little dust and hair came inside out from the carpet and the floor. I even clean sofa, bed and blinds with this tools. I bought extra Vax tools from Amazon. Only cost around 25 pounds. When you charged, it's last around 40 minutes. I have to empty 5 times when I used first. Then 3 days after I cleand the house. Only twice I emptied that cylinder. Amazing!! I can see whole house look very clean and dust free. I'm glad we bought this Vax. I have to say Vac is better than Dyson. Very good affordable price too. Every household need this gadget. Honestly I can't live without this Vax cordless vacuum cleaner. Very light weight too. I can wash cylinder parts. Even unscrew that brush to get the hairs out. I ll definitely keep it clean every month or few times a month. Some people unhappy reviews here making me laugh. Few people never will satisfy even this product work wonder. I only read good reviews to buy this fantastic product Vax. Absolutely love this. Thank you very much Amazon. I can highly recommend this Vax for everyone. I like to give 10 stars for Vax.

Finally found the perfect vacuum, or so I first thought. This is everything that high end competitiors should be worried about, and everything that prevented me from spending a silly price on a stick vac. i.e Better battery life, more user friendly and better suction. My Mum has a Dyson cordless, the Blade is superior in nearly every way possible and after a months use, the above positives still stand. However, how the filter system made it to the production line is beyond me. The manual advises that it should be cleaned every 3 months? Complete joke, it becomes completely clogged with dust after one or two uses, to the point where the dust gets as far as the motor exhaust filter. So much for the 'fine dust filtration system'. Now left wondering how long it will take for the motor to pack up with dust getting to it. You'll probably find yourself wanting to clean the filters after every use and it's not an easy or clean task. This issue and the fact that you can never change the battery is the reason for not giving the Vax Blade 5 stars, everything else is near perfect and overall good value for money. I would recommend but also advise any potential customers to be wary of the maintenance needed.Pros:Excellent pick up on both carpets and hard floors.Good battery life.ManoeuvrabilityLightweightBrush bar on or off modeBoost modeCons:Horrendous filtration systemIrreplaceable batteryNot the comfiest handle gripNo built in charge/wall mount

As with other Vax products this feels robust and made for the job. The charger is neatly integrated into the 13 amp plug and the charger lead is about 6ft long, which is a happy medium between convenience and utility. The LED display showing battery life is clear and attractive. Before you can use the product you should charge it for up to 4 hours. You'll then get around 45 minutes of continuous use. There is plenty of power from the 198W 28.8 volt motor (it's not actually 32v, it would seem) but as with all battery products it isn't light and may be somewhat on the heavy side for some, including the elderly. The blade can be used in a number of different rolls: as a short reach hand-held device with either dusting brush or crevice tool,or with extension added and once again used with either crevice tool, dusting brush or the powered head with brusher. In this mode it would be great for cleaning stairs. All the various parts fits together and separate easily and clip firmly in place. Finally, the dust container (with washable filter) is relatively small but so easy to empty that you'll be up and running in no time when you empty it now and then. So who is this product for? The Vax Cordless Blade is ideal, either as a 2 in 1 device for studio apartments or a very handy supplementary device for a larger home, I would say. It's great for dealing with things like cobwebs and cleaning out the car but it's not bad at vacuum cleaning in general, either.

As I opened the box I knew for sure that this would be an evening to remember. Sleek curves peeked seductively from the ample packaging leaving me a little out of breath in anticipation of the delights to follow. Gently sliding the reach wand into the perfectly formed main body I felt the reassuring click as the locking mechanism engaged, ensuring coupling would be maintained until the whole experience ended. The introduction of the powered head seemed as effortless as a feather drifting lazily in a warm summer’s breeze. With sections finally integrated and battery fully charged, it was time to see what this electronic temptress could offer the discerning gentleman. She responded to the press of the power button with the ferocity of a lion, her brushbar a blur of revolving bristles. With the detritus of several weeks disappearing into her more than ample dirt container, she devoured the hair and dust particles with frightening self-confidence. Swept away with the whole experience, I watched as once drab carpets miraculously appeared as new, their trampled pile restored to its original glory.Alas, as with all good things, the whole encounter had to come to an end. As a gentleman of advancing years, I am unable to tolerate long periods of excitement and with heavy heart I tamed the beast and lay her down to recharge her batteries, reluctantly walking away with a final glance over my shoulder and a memory that would surely last a lifetime.

This is a really handy hoover. We have a dyson handheld, but find this far more powerful and with a much longer battery life. The downside is that the main unit is a little heavier and some may find this too heavy to use for any length of time. For me, it's OK and doesn't detract but it may be worth trying one before buying if this is a concern.Initially, the unit supplied didn't work but after contacting the manufacturer, they quickly dispatched a replacement that has worked without fault. The tools provided are very useful, including the extension tube and powered brush head which, combined with a longer battery life, mean this can be used as an only hoover rather than simply an additional device for cleaning in between a full clean. The only frustration with the hoover is the need to turn on the brush bar each time you turn the power on. Its not difficult to do, but would be nice if it remembered whether you had it switched on last time or not. What is helpful is that the unit has an on/off switch rather than a trigger, so once it switched on you don't have to keep it pressed throughout use.Emptying the unit is very simple straightforward, as too is charging, and the unit has a visual display of remaining battery life in 25% increments.Overall I really like this. It gives the freedom to not have a cord trailing behind and could easily be used as an only hoover in a flat / smaller house.

This comes ready to assemble and is very simple to piece together. The instructions were clear and used a decent set of colour pictures to illustrate how it all fits together. It is a slick design and is moderately light. There is a useful but not overwhelming number of attachments and it is very easy to change the head on the hover. Even with the main broom head on, the fantastic swivel joint means that the hoover gets into all the nooks and crannies and we were impressed by the suction power and how much dust it sucked up from our wooden floor - that we felt was already clean! It was a monster on the carpet, but works best in boost mode, which was noisier than we expected it to be.If you are not looking for a whisperer than this will do the job nicely. It is surprisingly easy to empty the dust catcher and clean the filter, again the instructions are very clear. This is a bagless vacuum cleaner, so whilst initially expensive, it will incur no further costs. This a cordless machine so obviously needs charging before use, so be organised or consider keeping it plugged in. A nice feature was the colour changing charge indicator, which should mean you always know you have enough charge to get through a room.4 stars - whilst the suction is amazing and manoeuverability are fantastic. This Vac loses a star for begin neither as quiet nor as light as we expected.
