Skip to The Bottom Line for a quick opinion. With a 160W motor and 18V battery which makes it less powerful than the MAX version of the Blade 2 (which is 40v battery and 265w). Though it looks very similar to the Blade 2.A Breakdown of What's Included:• Dusting brush useful for blinds, drawers, keyboards.• Crevice tool nice and long but the suction end is a little on the wide side, might be difficult to get into the crevices of some cars it's also not suitable for my dryer vent.• Tool caddy to hold a tool on the long wand.• It has removable battery and a battery specific charging unit, which doesn't require the housing - which is an upgrade on the blade 2.This is a much needed feature as I can have a backup fully charged battery on standby and swap them around, never needing to wait for a dead battery.• Wall mountable.• Lithium iron battery, 40 minutes runtime with a battery life indicator on the battery itself (neat idea!). It takes 2 ½ hours to acheive full charge.• Main cleaning head similar to Blade 2 version. Nice stiff bristles and grooved cylinder which is really good for compacted pet hair. The soft rubber wheels don't scratch my oak, polished and my marble floors.• It also has a clear flexible suction joint leading to the bin compartment such a useful festure to see where a potential blockage is.• I love the lights dust tracking on the front of the head tool - we call them "headlights", I've found this really handy for vacuming under our beds and sofas. I can hone in to a specific area in a dark corner. The unit is very similar to the Blade 2 except for the removable battery which is an improvement. The bin housing has a rubber anti-slip grasp handle. All the parts to the bin are removable so that you're able to give them a good wash including the filter.Easy eject bin from the main housing, unlike some other brands you won't accidentally empty the bin whilst you're vacuuming as it rejects from the side, not underneath like similar Dysons.Very simple to operate on/off buttons on the upper portion of the handle on the housing. Brush 'rotate motion' for the main head, can be switched off so that you can select to use it only on carpets and thick piles. This feature preserves the battery. There's also an 'turbo mode' button which decreases battery life dramatically if used all the time.Tools can be used directly affixed onto the shorter housing or attached to the end of the long wand to make the cleaning more upright and easier on your back. The Negatives:Though the power buttons are conveniently located on top of the hand grip on the main housing, I've found that I accidentally keep switching the unit 'On' when I'm trying to attach/detach the accompanying tools. A bit tedious at times. The tool caddy that attaches to the long wand only carries one spare tool. So you'll have to choose whether the crevice tool or dusting brush gets priority seating. It's a shame these two tools cant interclip and can be stored together. The unit won't stand upright independently with the long wand attached. It needs to be stored leaning on something or in it's wall mount.Im not convinced I can interchange the interchangeable battery for an identical replacement with the newer Vax Blade 4 vacuum cleaner which has just launched, even though it's in the OnePWR range, this one has a 3.0 Ah battery and that one has a 4.0 Ah.Can this be classed as "one power"?In principle, according to marketing, the OnePWR battery fits in the entire OnePWR range. Some clarification is needed here. The Bottom Line:All in all a very good vacuum, a few niggles here and there (listed above). Plus I'm surprised this one is less powerful than it's predecessor. As of writing, the online marketing information doesn't clarify all the specifications in terms of volts and wattage prior to purchase, which makes it difficult to compare to Vax's other offerings. It's a good lightweight and quiet unit, unless you have the habit of turbo-boosting everything!Even as a member of the Vine, you will notice from my past reviews, I don't necessarily leave positive feedback for products. I really judge the item for it's true worth. As I, as a consumer, would also want to read good, HONEST reviews for my purchases. There's nothing worse than feeling disgruntled because you've bought something on the strength of reviews and when it arrives you realise you've made the wrong decision. As such, I am happy to answer any more questions you may have before you decide on this product.

If you haven't already used one of these types of vacuum cleaner, they have some differences that may change how you clean around the home. This Vax is a particularly good example and is far more useful and easy to use than a corded version. The most noticeable thing is how lightweight the whole unit is, this makes it far easier to push around than an upright and less tiring than lugging a cylinder around. Because of its low weight it is easy to lift the whole thing and clean high-up spaces, with more reach than a more traditional cleaner.Without a cord it also removes the need to clean spaces according to socket placement in your home, in other words you can tackle a room at a time, rather than an area defined by distance from a socket. The cleaner has three power modes: 'on', 'brushbar on' and 'boost'. I found that with it just on, that it was a little lacklustre and would require several passes to lift some pieces. The brushbar on (i.e. the rotating brush in the head) was much better at getting stuff loose on carpet, so that it could actually be lifted. Finally, with boost on we are approaching something like the power of a corded cleaner and the Vax had little trouble shifting even the most stubborn dirt. With the brushbar activated, a light on the head is switched on, which makes it much easier to see dirt you would otherwise miss, particularly in spaces under the sofa or bed. It will eventually clean a floor, though you may need to go back over on a higher setting bits that it missed. Now, using the power modes beyond simply 'on' has a dramatic effect on battery life, and you'll go from the claimed forty minutes to something nearer ten. This isn't the major problem it seems, if you take into account that it much less hassle to get the Vax out than a bulky corded cleaner. Rather than vacuuming the entire home, I find it easier to tidy a room and vacuum it, then allow the battery to charge whilst working on another room. Also, some rooms get dirtier quicker than others, so getting the Vax out for one room is less of a job than a corded cleaner. Still, if you have a large home or are a professional cleaner, you might want to look for something with a longer continuous use time. The dirt container is quite small and fills up quickly. Emptying it is best done in an empty bin, where you can get it in as far as possible, as otherwise you run the risk of spilling dirt back on to the floor. I found that I needed to manually shift some of the fluff and hair from inside the container, as some of it wouldn't drop out on its own.As well as the cleaning head, there are two attachments: a crevice tool and a brush. Only one of these can be stored on the cleaner at a time, but otherwise can be stored on the cleaner's wall mount. The cleaner can be used in a few different configurations, the handiest of which is attaching the cleaning head directly to the main unit, without the pole, this makes cleaning stairs FAR easier. The wall mount requires screwing to a wall, which could be done in a cupboard or cellar. The cleaner won't stand well on its own and is likely to fall over if you attempt this.Overall, I'm pleased with the Vax and find it useful for my needs, as I have a smallish house and normally find vacuuming a drag anyway. I'd have liked a bit longer on the battery life and a little more oomph, but current battery technology sets the limits at this level of consumer product.

There is a lot to like about this Vax Blade3 cordless vacuum, which I'll go into in more detail below, but a big issue for me is that you have to remove the battery and charge it separately, it doesn't charge on a wall mount, nor can you charge it by plugging it into a socket. The battery lasts about 40 mins on the regular cleaning function, so I'm able to clean downstairs about 3 times before it needs to be charged which is good at least, but it's a faff to have to take out the battery and charge it using the separate charger, then remember to put it back in before you use it again.I know it sounds silly but I have two small children and use a stick vacuum about 2-3 times a day, usually after mealtimes,it's such a pain when the battery goes mid-clean, or if you need to grab it in a hurry to hoover up a spill and realise there is no battery in it, or the battery is dead because you got distracted and forgot to take it out to charge it the last time you used it. It's one of those things which wont bother most people but for a small cohort of busy parents it won't be the most practical.Aside from this, there are many great features of this vacuum. Firstly, it offers several different cleaning functions; you can swap it between regular suction for hard floors, and rotating brush for carpets etc. There is also a boost button which increases the suction power and you can use this in either mode. The controls are easy to use and you don't need to keep your finger on the trigger like some of the older stick vacuums. A really useful feature is a battery gauge button which lights up and is next to the power buttons; it tells you in bars how much battery you have left. It will glow red just before the battery dies to give you warning. The head of the vaccum glides easily across the floor and is very easy to manoeuvre, the head is smaller than other stick vacuums I have used but this doesn't impact its effectiveness. It still feels like a heavy vacuum though, the handle and dust bin is large, heavy and cumbersome and it means that quite a lot of weight is carried in your arm. Another thing I don't like is that if you are in a hurry and want to clean next to a skirting board or narrow space and you unclip the hoover head to do this the suction is terrible. You need to clip one of the attachments on to get proper suction which is a bit of a pain.Although it doesn't have a wall mounted charger, it comes with a wall clip included so you can store it secured to a wall. It doesn't stand independently itself.Overall I really like the suction power on this, even on a regular cleaning function without the boost the power is sufficient for most of my cleaning needs. I really like that it switches easily between regular suction and rotating brush as we have mainly hard wood floors with several rugs so its really easy to clean both effectively. If having to remove the battery to charge separately doesn't bother you then I would recommend this vacuum. However, not having a wall mounted charger you can clip this into is a big no-no for me.

For this money expected a much more well-built structure and stronger suction. My fault from a part that I expected some functions that do not exist because I did not read through the whole description, only looked at images and customer reviews.Positive part:- I can fit in tight areas between wall and bed for example- It does clean carpet nicely though- I can suck with thin tube ending along the wall and carpet meeting properly- Filter and dirt container is easy to clean- cordless- lightweight- wide flat head turns very smooth and easily- battery although run low quick, performance did not changeNegative parts:- long tube is not adjustable in length- part connections feel flimsy, especially the thing long tube ending- needed to use the second level of suction as first did not feel strong enough (perhaps good on solid floor and not carpet)- because of that battery ran low in just a few minutes already, although I charged it long enough.- the wide flat head with the rotatory brush in it is a pain in the... to clean. I never had a hoover with this before so I didn't know how it's gonna work for me - I would not recommend for an allergic person, as I spent at least 15 minutes to cut off all the hair that got stuck on the brush and bar as I just did not figure out another way to clean it and I do clean my hoover after every use so it wasn't even that much stuff on it.- and there is this "lock" key on the side of the head of the rotatory brush head, which indicates that I can lock and unlock the brush movement (?) I did not manage to try it as it is made out of plastic and I have not received any tool for this purpose to rotate it, and when I tried with something metal I have and was a similar size, plastic started to bend and change the shape of course so I stopped.- soft rounded brush is I guess for smooth delicate surfaces, which I am not used to - previous hoovers had thick and strong brushes so I could clean the carpet with it, but I guess now I have the rotatory head for that purposeOverall it did the job, it was the first time I used, so I will update later if any radical change would happen.I expected a better feel and quality for this money. I purchased a similar hoover about 2 years ago for only 60 Pounds and, that was not as effective as this one, but quality-wise, the way it feels in my hand they are very similar but in price. I guess its the suction I pay for, which is a good point though but it would be nice to have in my hands something that doesn't feel like it can fall apart. So I feel it a bit pricy, but if it will last for long, then it did worth, I will see.

The Blade 3 is physically identical to the Blade 4 cleaner with minor cosmetic differences, a blue accent as opposed to the Blade 4's grey, and a silver extension tube where the Blade 4 has a grey one, it is also powered by a less powerful motor and battery. The vacuum cleaner is powered by a removable 3Ah battery (the Blade 4 is powered by a 4Ah one), with a reported 40 minutes run time. Although a bracket is supplied to hang the cleaner on the wall, it doesn't charge the battery, this needs to be removed and charged in the charger which is tabletop only, it can't be hung on the wall. The cleaner comes with a crevice tool and a brush, there is a clip which allows these to be stored on the main shaft; for use these can be fitted on the tube,or, with the tube removed to the motor section. On the handle are the on-off button, a button for switching the brush on and off, a boost button, and some LEDs to show battery charge. The brush head has some LEDs for illumination but these only come on with the brush. The cleaner is very easy to use and manoeuvre, it's well balanced and the brush head is very flexible and small enough to fit under furniture. This is a good vacuum cleaner, it's quieter than the Blade 4, and worked well, both on our wooden floors and carpets; it doesn't have the power of the Blade 4 and the brush stopped working on a thick pile carpet and needed the boost function; I did find I needed to use the boost function more with a consequential reduction in battery life. The main tube is easy to unclip to attach the brush head directly to the motor section for upholstery and stairs. The cleaner isn't free standing, when not in use it has to be laid down or put back on its wall clip. The dust container is easy to unclip from the machine for emptying, there is a small flap that covers the inlet to prevent dust falling out, a nice touch. I did find it slippery and difficult to hold and press the button for emptying, it needs a grip or a handle. I also found that the central metal foil filter got clogged and needed cleaning each time the dust container was emptied; filters are washable. This is a good cleaner, it is outclassed by the more powerful and expensive Blade 4 with its larger battery and longer run time, however, if the shorter run time and need to use the boost function are acceptable, this is a good choice.

I've a Vax Powerflex vacuum cleaner which i have used for over 7 years so well deserved to retire after my newVax OnePWR Blade 3 arrived. I also deserved an upgrade as everything this days is cordless and to be honest it makes the life a lot easier when you don't need to pull 10 meters of power cable after yourself when you want hoover a 4 bedroom house in one go. To be honest after I've used this new cordless vacuum cleaner for a week and i'm really happy with it but at the beginning I had a bit of a mixed feeling, I thought I thought i will have a lot less suction power than my old cleaner but in the end the performance convinced me. The Blade 3 arrived in a white box very well presented even this was very promising.Inside I found the handheld vacuum cleaner with the powered floor-head and a few extras: ONEPWR Charger, 3.0Ah Battery, Crevice Tool Caddy, On board crevice tool, Soft bristle dusting brush and a wall mount. User manual was also included well written full but i didn't had to use it it's very straight forward how to use it. It comes with 3 years warranty which is very unusual, most of the household appliances this days only offered with 1 year warranty. The battery is removable which is a pro, most of this cordless vacuum cleaners featured with built in battery and it can't be removed if there is a problem with it. After the first charge I managed to use it for about a 30 minutes and still has power left in it. It can be used as a handheld vacuum cleaner to clean the sofa, car etc or it can be used with the floor-head for bigger surfaces such like carpet, upholstery or laminated flooring. I like the design, very modern lightweight easy to use, easy to clean and to empty the dust bin. One of mu best feature is the small led light on the floor-head I can see if i still have my dirt to hoover under my bed :)All in all Vax is a good choice if you look for an upgrade, I always been a loyal customer for this brand because they are products never let me disappointed.

Been looking at another make that's almost triple the price. Then got offered this I have previously had a more expensive chinese version which I thought was brilliant but just didnt have the suction for busy areas. This was really easy to put together altho bit stiff to change parts. It feels strongly made and it definatly has same suction of a 4 year old vax I have been using thats wired. This makes ceilings and stairs a breeze . You have 4 type of settings for hoover 1.normal suction2.normal with brush3 .max suction4.max suction with brush. It's very easy to select and change. You get 2 tools with this hoover that both fit neatly into the long bar to do this attatch holder then long tool andthen slide short tool on top which I find very helpful to have in reach all the times.I've used this hoover on short carpet ,lino and thick rug and it's been great on all. If using brush you have a light come on which is very helpful it's a shame it's not on constant. Using the brush and max suction also decreases the battery life but aslong as your not in a hurry it charges really quick I think. I like that fact you can remove the battery for charging this makes it so much easier to how you store and put the hoover holder up.im very greatful to review this and it's made cleaning the home much more manageable due to joint pains there is some weight but no where near as heavy as a normal wired hoover.I like the fact the collection apartment is long ways as cant be knocked and emptied everywhere which I have done before on old cordless. Everything can be cleaned easily too. This hoover also comes with a amazing 3 year warranty making it great value for money . If you really want a cordless I do recommend this one it's also so handy for between meals as my kids like to always make a mess and I could never be bothered to plug the hoover in every 5 mins

I bought the one power as a replacement to my older model vax that had the battery built in and I can say this is a perfect example of how to upgrade a already brilliant bit of kit.SoAdding the removable battery means the bulk of the body is a lot lighter this battery also works with other vax one power appliances such as the carpet cleaner. Also this means that you no longer need to have a power source close to your vacuum storage for charging up the battery pod can be placed anywhere to charge leaving the vacuum to.be tucked away safe and out of sight. While it is battery you don't lack the power like you might expect the online description says 45minuits of constant use one a charge guarantee you can double that if not longer. The light on the front while seemed a bit daft to me at first glance actually joking saying it's for cleaning in the dark however words eaten because as I hoovered under the bed the light made any items in hoover range show up easily (also if you wanted to clean at night very very bring light and remarkably quiet)The motor runs very quiet so no more shouting to be heard while it's in use. Mine came with an accessory kit lots of wonderful toys to use with main body Nd also the crevice tool holder that attaches to the main pipe/tube is brilliant saves the day's of sticking tool in pocket of hunting for it in tool storage bag two seconds change over as it's right there attached to main body. Honestly can't rave about this product enough and for the price too its a ridiculously brilliant bit of kit for a low price and I'd definitely say it would run rings around competitors

Assembly was very easy: Personally I assembled it completely without any hassle just by reading the users manual for 2-3 minutesGeneral Overview: 160W motor and 18V batteryBattery: 18V battery is meant to work for 40 mins on normal mode (And it does) However if you prefer to use the power mode is it lasts 20 mins (Which is more than enough). It is very easy to remove the detachable battery and charge it to be used for next time).Motor: 160W is powerful, believe me. In the video, I have attached you will be able to see that without putting hardly any pressure of the mat is removed most debris with one stroke.Cons:I LOVE the headlights ....we noticed how much we can see better compared to our ordinary hooverPOWERFUL suction its great for carpets. The ROTATING head is such a clever idea. The dust bin does not need a single-use bin bag which is great.Pros:Well, my house is wood floor and this vacuum cleaner head does not have the ability to be raised slightly so the dirst can be pushed into the suction hole so it just pushes the dirt to the front and there is not way it can suction the dirts. Unless you contantly pick up the head to allow suction. Which can be very frustrating. The unit won't stand upright independently as well but its not a biggie. You can use it and the dock it in its place.Room for improvement:The battery could be improved to last longer for TURBO modeAllow head adjustments for wood-/porcelain floor as well as carpet. Please take a second to hit the helpful button it makes taking the time to write the review worthwhile :)

I've always been a bit more of a Dyson, as opposed to a Vax, person in the past. However, my last Dyson has been a little bit of a disappointment, so I was keen to try out another Vax.Overall impressions are pretty positive. I start from the position that a cordless can't yet get close to the performance of a corded vacuum and set my expectations accordingly. We have a mix of hard floors and carpets along with two dogs, so set any vacuum a decent challenge.Out of the box, quality feels good. It is easy to assemble, and although "plasticy", it fits together well and feels robust. The battery charges quickly and has sufficient capacity for our mid-size property. Cleaning power is good, the brush head gets into the carpet pretty well and pulled out a lot of dust and dog hair. As with all portables, the waste container isn't huge, so for our environment it required a couple of empties. The normal range of tools is supplied, and I particularly liked the stair attachment, which is also very effective for furniture and car cleaning. One small niggle for me is that the battery needs to be removed for charging; I would much prefer this was incorporated into a docking station. In summary, I think this is a decent lightweight, portable cleaner. It will struggle in more challenging environments. We shall keep it for upstairs use, which will be less demanding and also save us the effect of lugging the mains cleaner up the stairs.

Impressive!I am really pleased with this Vax. I have limited mobility and painful joints so anything heavy is nigh on impossible to use. I have a gtech, which is a brilliant cleaner and very lightweight. However, it doesn't have attachments and doesn't get right into the corners, and without buying extra parts it isn't great for the stairs. So, i ordered this Vax to see how it compares.Obviously it isn't as easy on my wrists, the main unit is quite heavy (if you have 'normal' wrist strength you won't have any problems with it at all), and the machine as a whole isn't as disabled friendly. However, the cleaning power is superb! Guineapigs make an impressive mess at times and this Vax deals with it instantly. It's very quiet, very easy to put together and charging the battery is a doddle. The hand held function (ie just the main unit not the stick bit) is as good as I hoped, the stairs are going to be so much easier to keep clean.I won't be able to use it when my hands are very bad, but then again I can't use a pencil when my hands flare, so cleaning is bottom of the list! It's easy to see when it needs emptying and that job is also quick and easy.So far I think this is a brilliant cleaner.I will pop back in a couple of weeks when we have both used it more, and update as necessary.Currently priced at £179.99I hope you find this review helpful, thanks for reading.

I bought this a couple of months ago and overall I am really pleased with it. It cleans really well though debatable that it beats the cleaning power of a corded upright. Its light weight and really easy to use and maneuver, you just glide it feels great. I also love the wall mount which I installed easily myself. I would have given five stars if not for a couple of minor details. One is price point. I think it a little overpriced, I did get a free tool kit though. Also perhaps a bit of a design floor in emptying. When you push open the cylinder door I expect the dirt to just fall out easy like it shows in the demo video but the reality is, it often stays stuck and you have to dig your fingers in to giggle the dirt out, yuk! My friend who bought this hoover also said the same thing but I have a work around. I just open up the other end and pull out the filter unit and tap the dirt off into the bin, it falls off much easier. The tool kit is great, especially the flexi nozzle. Though the most important tool of all has not been invented yet, a finger like gadget to giggle the dirt out of the cylinder so you don't have to get your hands dirty :-) Vax if you can make this tool and send a fat cheque in the post for my idea I will give five stars! LOL. I do love this hoover and am glad I purchased it.

This is the first VAX cordless vacuum Ive had and Ive been extremely impressed with its performance, amazing power considering its cordless. Its not the prettiest looking vacuum but it certainly does the job, leaving a good deep clean and even tackles pesky little bits of cotton that cling to carpets. Weight wise its a bit heavy compared to some but I dont mind that due to it excelling in other areas and its nicely balanced, especially when using it to clean up high, cobwebs etc. Its great on hard floors as well, no loss of suction at any point and the run time on a charge is more then enough, even on boost...which itself is very powerful. The lights are very useful when doing under the bed and the motorised rollers fair whizz along, you can feel them pulling you along the carpet, boy do they want to move and get the job done. Very easy to get the hang off and the parts clip together easily and firmly. My one gripe is the lack of attachments, you get a couple but not many compared to other makes. The detachable battery makes it easy to charge, only need small space for charger and the machine itself can go in a cupboard and no need to be near a power point.Great vacuum, one of the few that brags about power and does actually deliver, first rate.

I love the removable battery and the fact that it charges up fast. The led lights on the head are extremely helpful to see under furniture, the brushbar is easily removable to clean. The fact that you could use the main body with the floor nozzle means I could clean my stairs with these. I like the size of the crevice tool. It is good to get in the side of the sofas the dusting brush is nice and soft and you can use it on your TV. The bin is easy to empty. Filter access is easy which makes maintaining the vacuum simple. The vacuum cleaner works great on carpets it does have the option of a boost mode but that will reduce battery time.On hard floors it is okay even if I use boost mode it still is not as good as on carpets. When using in hand held mode the main body is heavy, someone with arthritis in their hands will find it difficult. I just wish this vacuum would stand up on its own that way when you need to pause your cleaning your not having to look around thinking where to leave my vacuum. The battery is actually quite good but more often than not I needed to use the boost setting as I have 2 little kids that make a lot of mess boost mode just takes up a lot of battery. I will be investing in a new battery.

After years of lugging around a corded vacuum cleaner and countless hints to my husband, I finally decided it was now or never! Having read the reviews and dithered for weeks I did it! I finally had my Vax cordless Blade 3. I never thought that I would ever be in a position to say that something is too efficient!!! This cleaner has removed years of well trodden carpet and floors of dust and dust and yet more dust!!! I was utterley amazed at the power of this machine. I have only had it for a month and haven't used any of the attatchments yet but I use it regularly for a quick once over. I have found it a tad heavy but once I got my handgrip right it was much easier. The swivel head is so efficient, turns on a sixpence. What I would like to see is a small brush of some kind in order to remove the years of dust which have accumalated in the bin. The battery charges very quickly and is easy to remove and replace. I am intending to purchase a spare battery so that I will always have a charged battery at all times. I would not hesitate at all to recommend this to anybody still comtemplating purchasing a cordless vacuum. This is the one that ticks my boxes, I will update review once I have fully used all the attatchments.
