Tried this cleaner on the oldest carpets in the house (hall, stairs & landing) as they hadn't been washed for 2 - 3 years. Followed instructions carefully and result a carpet looking bright and clean, with colours as bright as they had been.Pros: 1. Removes more dirt than you would care to admit too (even though vacuumed regularly and just before using this cleaner, per instructions). 2. Leaves carpet only slightly damp due to impressive suction - soon dry enough for traffic. 3. Light enough to be easily manoeuvred. 4. Stair/upholstery tool convenient.Cons: 1. Assembly instructions misleading - says 'lower top section' or 'slide handle down' 'until it clicks securely'. There was no 'click'.

Having two indoor cats in addition to a well trodden carpet between my front door and the kitchen it was time to give my carpets just a little more love and attention. This carpet cleaner was very easy to set up and is light to carry and maneuver, a positive for my arthritic limbs. I was delighted how all trace of tradesmens' dirty boots and the occasional whoops from a cat's sensitive stomach were eradicated quickly and my carpets returned to 'as new' condition. I had been concerned whether the carpet would feel damp for some time afterward but found that it was dry to the touch thanks to the suction power.I thought I would give the cleaner one more test on a barrier mat at the back door that

Absolutely delighted with this carpet cleaner. I can’t disagree with most of the favourable posts on here. It is easy to put together, no different in sound to any other Vax vacuum cleaner (which are great btw). With regard to a few comments about whether the components last - mine have on all other Vax products which include two vacuum cleaners (with one nearly five years old)! Not difficult to fill, empty, manoeuvre and good cord length. Cleans very well. It would be heavy and possibly awkward when cleaning stairs for someone with arthritis or other hand specific conditions. Background as occ therapist. Nonetheless, if you get someone to position it - you can easily use the more pliable and light hand held washer.

The first one I ordered stopped working half way through cleaning my carpet and shut down the main fuse box! But after inspection it looked like the clean water tank was leaking and water got into the motor!However, Very were brilliant and arranged to have it collected and a new one delivered the next day, so great customer service.The replacement worked suberbly and I was able to finish the job.I am amazed at the cleaning power of this machine, it was used on an old carpet which was down when I moved in 7 years ago but since having my dog from a puppy for 2 years, there were many stains where I had mopped up by hand, so I bought this in desperation!I always thought that the carpet was dark grey but amazingly it is now a lovely,

VAX products, at least in this price category are made of fairly fragile plastic, so my expectations were not high. Indeed, in this case, one should be careful not to put hot water in the clean water tank. Howver, the parts fit well together, and the whole thing is sturdy enough to be lifted by the handle.In terms of actual cleaning, I liked the result, the carpets look a lot cleaner, but where they are even slightly more soiled, pre-treatment is required. I was actually more impressed with the results when using the upholstery tool, both on chairs inside the house and on car seats and interior. All in all, was a good purchase.One thing I am not happy about is the suction power.

I bought this last week and was keen to see how how dirty my living room rug was especially now since I had a golden retriever puppy. The machine was very easy to assemble and set up. I have a very large rug in my living room and was able to clean the whole rug in less than 10 minutes! I pressed the button under the handle to release the solution and dragged it back to collect it and the dirt. I was surprised to see that so much dirt came off the rug although we only are very careful on this rug and do not wear outdoor shoes on it. The rug was quite dry to the touch and smelt lovely and fresh. It completely dried overnight and we were able to walk on it the next day. There was a handy bag to keep all the accessories.

I've finally had chance to use this cleaner after two weeks of taking delivery.We haven't washed our carpets for a little over two years now, and our two year old son and dalmation have made sure that the first clean was going to be a tough one.Before the cleaner was ready to use, it required a little assembly, this was really simply a took only a few minutes.The cleaner itself was a little loud but this maybe down to the dual rollers, which performed brilliantly. The amount of debris that this machine lifted from our carpet was astonishing, and at the same time a little worrying- I had no idea how dirty our floor had become when.on the face of it looked okay!The carpet when finished was hardly wet at all and it dried in a couple of hours,

Due to back problems I could not have anything big and heavy. This one fits the bill. It comes with a bag for hose storage. Having a hose that gathers together instead of remaining stretched taking up less room, yet stretches out to allow 7 steps of cleaning but due to the lighter weight and a long power cord, you can balance the cleaner on the stairs. Having a dog and 3 cats, the carpets do need cleaning often. The 2 brushes work well and bring up the dirt from my cream coloured carpets well.I would like to have had a roller brush on the hose connection for the stairs too and for small animal accidents instead of just a single brush, but it does the job.

Came on time. My husband put it together in just a few minutes. It doesn't seem to release very much solution, and it only does an alright job of sucking up the water on low carpet. I found that I needed to keep the machine fairly upright when dispensing the solution in order for it to come out in more than a few ragged steaks. In order to suck the water up more effectively I ended up pressing on the front of the machine to create more suction. I only had to do that on the very low pile carpet, it's almost like a woven floor covering more than regular carpet, so I think the flooring itself was an issue more so than the machine. I had no issues with shaggier area rugs,

A very easy to assemble cleaner with just 3 screws fixing it together. I found the cleaner very easy to use, not too heavy and it flowed easily over the carpet. The carpet I have is a particularly long pile (purchased before the dog!) and although I thoroughly vacuumed prior to cleaning I was amazed at the amount of fluff and hair that the cleaner sucked up. With this in mind I found it quite fiddly to thoroughly clean the machine after use, it's not the easiest of tasks to get behind the rollers.The volume of water sucked up did not seem proportionate to the amount used on cleaning the carpet, however this again may be down to the thickness of the pile. We have a 5 month old black lab and with a puppy come accidents and mess. Our carpet wasn't really stained or looking too dirty, but I could smell that it needed a clean. This machine was easy to assemble and set up. I tried it on the stairs first and it was a little hard to handle as it is a big machine and the attachment won't reach up all the stairs, but it was okay and not more hassle than with a hoover. I did the living room over the weekend and it is crazy how much hair and dirt the VAX picked up. The only downside is that there is no way to really clean the brush part. A lot of hair gets stuck around there and the only way to slightly clean it is to pick it out yourself.It didn't get out as much water as I expected,

Bought this as we only have the hall stairs and landing carpeted and a few rugs. Upon opening the box I was dissapointed that the cleaning fluid had leaked but vax soon sent more out FOC. After building (took 5 min max) I noticed how light this cleaner was (maybe a downside but will come to that later). I salvaged what fluid i could and tested the cleaner on a rug. This cleaner tend to use a lot of fluid and doesn't suck up that much water back up (can only think this is down to the lightweight build not creating a decent suction), however i did notice a dramatic difference in the rug and the colour of the water shown this. The two tanks are tight fitting and fiddly but after a while you get used to it.

This was bought to replace a much bigger and more expensive VAX machine which totally disintegrated inside after (what I felt to be) rather little use. This one is smaller and neater and so passes around obstacles more easily, but lacks the auto-mix facility so you must pre-mix the solutions, and I guess this means that there is no proper rinsing of the carpets. It also means you need to measure 40ml units and this may require you to buy a measuring cylinder. It is not an easy amount to estimate.The machine itself works fine, and much dirt extracted from some hallway rugs on which two Labradors have trampled. Cleaning the machine is described most cursorily in the scant instructions,

Arrived on time as promised, done excellent job of cleaning my carpet. Excellent Value. Easy to use.As instructed best vacumn before using cleaner, I was surprised how much the Vax Cleaner still picked up.I had read that some customers said it leaked, so I didn't fill the tank too full, so that when the cleaner was on the forward Movement the solution level was below the tank top. I still had enough solution to clean my living room carpet & hallway runner.Make sure you top tank up before it is empty, as the dirt collected around the Brush area can be deposited back onto the carpet.The easiest way to clean the Suction head/Brushes is to unscrew the Belt panel, & take out the brushes,

Brought this to clean my moms carpets so today I set to and cleaned the lounge dining room and hallway well I must say very impressed looks like new. Last time I cleaned them we hired a rug master well the vax did a better job ten times better in fact well impressed couldn’t believe it the Pet hairs it got up the dirt etc. Easy and light to use you have to fill up more as only holds 2.5 litres of water oh that’s a 100ml of vax carpet shampoo we used the ultra one in the green bottle and mom liked that she had a choice of 3 different scents as well. The one down fall we found was after using it cleaning the bristles as you can’t take it off (without unscrewing it)
