Vax CCQSASV1P1 Air Stretch Pet Vacuum Cleaner, 1.5 Litre, 900 W, Blue [Energy Class A]In the box.The vacuum cleaner, long hose, flexi hose, small area head, carpet and floor head and various detail brushes for crevasses and instructions and how to register the 2 year warrantee.Set up.Just unpack it and attach a hose and head and its ready to go. Then cord is housed within the cleaner itself.Power.For 900 watts it really does have some power. It out classes our older Vax Pet Vax on power by a long way. In fact on a long pile carpet the head is hard to push across it without turning the power down using the manual control on the metal pipe. It is a bagless cleaner as well so you don’t need bags like the old one.Size.For its power and small size,it is also very lightweight and easy to carry around and use on stairs or in the car.Capacity.It holds up to 1.5 litres of dust in the collection chamber.Filters.It has three filter than have to be cleaned after every few outings. There is on coarse filter in the collection chamber that you remove and pull hair and larger particles out of, this is quite easy to do as it works on a bayonet lock. The next filter is the motor filter that stops fine dust getting into the motor. This is washable and most of the tiny dust particles shake out so washing it does not have to be done that often. I did fine this a bit fiddly to get at as the top where the filter lives is quite tight to fit back on. Finally, there is a exhaust filter on the side of the wheel. This is a foam type filter that taps any dust that get through the other systems. Spare filters are available on Amazon and from other parts dealers.Performance.This is excellent for its size. It really does pick up every last bit of dirt and the turbo head is great for pet hairs on car seats and carpets. The other brushes are useful too. The flexi hose is great for stairs and behind furniture. Compared to our old Vax this one has found dirt that it has been leaving behind for years. Very happy with the performance. My only criticism is that the filters do block up quite quickly and need cleaning. However, ever vacuum is like this and the small Dyson battery one we have is no different.Overall.A powerful and lightweight cleaner with a good range of attachments. Very good cleaning performance but a fiddly filter system in my opinion. I will give it five stars because of its performance along and it appears built to last.

This is the 2nd Vac I've tried out recently...and it's a little cracker. Again another that pretty much works out of the box - no bags on this one which is always a plus if you've got one eye on not messing about with replacement bits n pieces. The vacuum comes with a clever adaptation of the brush/nozzle/dusting tool which has a reversible head held on properly by a small button that you press to slip it off so it won't come off when using it. It also comes with a turbo tool which is brilliant and it comes with two hoses, a regular hose and the extra stretchy one and this combined with the turbo tool made light work of the stairs. The stretchy tube is really long it reached the top of our stairs with the vac still at the bottom,it's also fantastic for reaching up to get the cobwebs out of those ceiling corners. Strangely though it doesn't come with any option to store the extra tools (specifically the nozzle tool) anywhere on the machine itself. The main cleaning head is pretty low profile so will get under most things with 3-4" clearance. The vacuum is very, very powerful but it has only the one setting so to adjust the suction a little you'll have to open the handle vent...I've used lots of Vax products in the past either at work (we had one to clean out printers in my old printing days) or at home from regular vacs, wet and dry vacs and carpet cleaners and I hold my hands up I never rated them, but this really is a little gem and really sucks up everything. The unit is nice and lightweight which is great but that lack of weight at times means when you are pulling it along the front end will rise up very easily...bounce, bounce - not a big deal really but it does bug me a bit. The power cord is a good length and the retract works pretty well, it doesn't snap back super fast but it does the job. Removing the dust canister is easy and emptying it just involves releasing a latch on the side so it swings open on it's hinge and the dirt falls out, it clips back on without having to jiggle or wrestle with it.A belting little vac - I'd give it four and a half stars (if I could) just drops a half mainly for the lack of tool storage and the lack of a lower/adjustable power setting.

Vax have always gone in for confusing model names and this is no exception, so I'll try to explain. In the compact cyclinder (aka Dyson-style) range there are two levels, Power and Air. The latter uses slightly more power but has much better suction due to being multi-cyclonic, whatever that might mean. The Power range doesn't lack suction - it is fine and compares well to other vacuums - it is just that the Air range has much greater suction.Within the Power and Air ranges are Pet and Total Home versions. The only difference is that Total Home has a soft dusting attachment. I guess that the Pet bit refers to the Turbotool which is a fantastic attachment that laughs in the face of pet hair.It is on both version. Finally there is Stretch. This refers to the stretchy hose which gives even more range. So this model is: more powerful, standard attachments, stretchy hose.Anyway, as mentioned, the Turbotool is the business and the entire Vax range is worth considering just for this. The suction is a little too good - you can't glide across floors and carpets, so there is a bit more elbow-grease involved, for which you are rewarded with greater dirt and dust removal. The cord is six metres long, so you won't have to relocate the plug often, and the stretchy hose and telescopic extension mean you won't need to move the main unit often either. The two big wheels means it happily follows you around anyway.I'd make one improvement to this vacuum - give it variable power. There is the classic air vent on the hose handle, but I like a proper power control for when you do need less suction - laminate floors for example. It is certainly not a deal-breaker and this is a very good practical everyday cleaner. The warranty is two years.

Along with the vacuum, you two hoses with a handle, a telescopic extension tube, a combination floor head, a three-in-one crevice tool and what they call a turbo tool which is essentially a little rolling brush head which is what you use for the pet hair. There is no bag. You empty the dust straight into the bin.Function wise, this is a nice fairly lightweight, compact machine. It's ideal for stairs and great for the car. I also find it good for vacuuming cobwebs at high level. The suction is terrifically strong. Of course this is a was the case with the new filter but this vacuum really does suck. This machine has a thermal cutout. This means that if the engine overheats, it automatically cuts out.It is often the problem with vacuum cleaners if you vacuum up something like an elastic band. Hopefully this should protect the motor from burning out.Another couple of useful features are the automatic cable wind and the parking slot where you can attach the floorhead the storage or transportation. Noisewise, it has a rating of 78 dB.The dust container is easy to empty. It just twists off and you can empty it straight into the bin. They recommend you replace the filters every 6 to 9 months. That said, you can wash the above-motor filter at 40° but you do need to leave it to dry overnight. The below motor filter you have to take out and shake into the dustbin. According to the instructions, this is not washable. It suggested that you clean this motor every time you empty the dust container and replace it once a year.I'm not generally one for cylinders but this does fit together so that you can hoover in quite an upright position. No complaints.

The vacuum arrived on time and well packaged. The instructions are easy to read and the vacuum was simple to put together. So, the vacuum itself:ProsThe vacuum feels sturdy and well built. I bought this vacuum primarily to hoover up after my two Golden Retrievers and Chocolate Labrador, there's a lot of hair involved in my daily vacuuming routine, but this little machine does the job extremely well. It's small but the dust tank holds a good amount, meaning you're not constantly emptying it. To empty the dust tank is easy, my first attempt was a little tricky but the vacuum has obviously marked buttons to help and after my initial attempt I now find it a breeze. The vacuum isn't too noisy and if you don't remember to keep checking the dust tank the sound of the vacuum becomes high pitched when it's full. The tools it came with are all easily slotted on and off and well built. There are filters which are simple to remove and clean to help prolong the life of the vacuum. The brush head can be switched between brushes for carpets or no brushes for hard floors. ConsAs I bought a stretch version my vacuum came with two hoses. I found the daily use hose quite plasticity and not very flexible but the stretch hose is excellent so I now keep this on my vacuum. The extra tools can't be stored onboard the vacuum. Conclusion All in all, it's a good little machine and does what it says on the box, lifts pet hair with relative ease and no loss of suction, in fact on hard floors it's extremely effective. I would recommend this product and would definitely consider buying it again myself.

Bought this to use on all hard floors and be able to reach my high ceilings to suck up spiders. The suction is very strong, I am unable to use it on carpets. Cannot push or pull it along. Still I am keeping my upright for this job. Need to open the slider to hoover the hard floor otherwise the head will pick up my loose lay tiles and my front door mat. The slider could do with something to keep it open as when working it tends to close up because that is where your hands rest on the tube. I am going to try an elastic band around the tube to see if this will keep it open. The extending tube is very good to adjust to your working level. The tube comes off ok to allow for dusting brush. The stair head is efficient, again got to pull towards you not push. The canister is very easy to take off the machine for emptying and releasing the dirt is very easy. Click back into place easy. What is not so easy is taking the hose off. Got to really sqeeze both sides of hose together and wiggle to release, need strong fingers and hands for this. Easy to click back into place. Perhaps a different head on it may make a difference, something with longer bristles so not in too close a contact with the floor. Have to see if other hoover heads will fit.All in all if you know what you want to use it for (hard floors) I would recommend but certainly not for carpets unless you are a body builder with upper body strength.

In my opinion you cant beat a cylinder design for versatility. This is a well built sturdy Vax vacuum cleaner. The bag less design offers a full 1.5 litre capacity whilst not the largest does offer a good compromise for the compact footprint. The easy clip out design allows easy and clean emptying of the bag when needed. The extra long extended cleaning hose offers a full 12m reach, so you really can easily clean the stairs, from the ground floor I can easily clean well past the halfway point and then simply place on the first floor landing and complete the rest, there is no need to awkwardly balance the vacuum on the stairs or the need to hold it. The vacuum has two large rear wheels and a single front wheel for steering. The retractable power cord extends to 6m allowing convenient plugging in to power. The vacuums 900w motor makes dealing with all surfaces be they hard floors linos, carpets with ease, the controllable suction allows you to easily reduce suction power for more gentle cleaning. Comes complete with 3 general multi purpose tools allowing a variety of different cleaning tasks, from upholstery to curtains, blinds etc. The extended reach of the vacuum allows you to easily clean close to the ceilings especially on landing where the reach would otherwise be too great.A great price, compact size and backed by a 6 year limited warranty makes this a recommended buy.

This is a nice hoover that's easy to manoeuvre as it is very light. Strangely it comes with two hoses. There are a couple of attachments including one for crevasses, upholstery and stairs, and one for floors. This is described as being specifically for dealing with pet hairs, however when I used this on a rug with long cat hairs on it, I had to go over the same area several times and there were still filaments of hair left. This was annoying and tiring. I usually use an upright vacuum cleaner and using this Vax to remove the cat hair gave me back ache. I really feel that the hair should have come up after the first or second sweep with this but it didn't.Stair attachment: This has really good suction, but I do feel that this tool could have been another inch wider to make the job quicker. The floor attachment was really good on hard floors and suction was fantastic.I would not be satisfied to use this as my main vacuum cleaner unless my home was mainly hard floors. If you are buying this specifically to remove pet hair from carpet then you are going to give yourself a bit of hard work, as it's not really as effective as others I have tried. In terms of suction I would give this a five out of five, dealing with dust easily, but I had to get out my trusty upright to complete the job on pet hair. I think that makes this a fail in terms of pet hair removal.

I have been using this vacuum for about six days and it does do exactly what it says on the box. The suction is excellent and although it is very difficult to push across my laminate floor I do like the fact that it is picking up all of the small bits which my other vacuum cleaners have not been able to do. After cleaning a couple of rooms just to see how well it works I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of fluff and bits that it had picked up despite not being visible. I also have a dog and clearly the vacuum is no match for his fur where it easily made light work of it. Like a number of other reviewers I did have difficulty changing the hose and altering the brush on the floor tool as the switch was very stiff.I really liked the extension hose as I could easily reach my coving and do the stairs with the pet stretch downstairs whilst I easily did the top stair, the only thing that I did not like was the stretch hose makes a really loud whistling noise which us annoying. The stretch hose, though brilliant is a bit heavy which may be an issue for someone who is a bit frail. Other than that so far I am loving my vacuum cleaner and I am looking forward to many years service.

This was delivered promptly from Vax.Very easy to put together.I see people having a jibe about the suction on other reviews.I like a vacuum with good suction even if it does make it harder work vacuuming. It does a better job in my opinion , and if you open the vent it decreases the suction anyway.I own 5 large dogs that all reside in the house so this was a good vacuum to purchase. My reason for giving it 4 Stars and not 5 is because I had to keep emptying the dust tank after a relatively short space of time. This wasn't because it seemed full it was because it felt like it was losing some suction power as the debris collected around the filter.I am an upright kind of girl but I was impressedwith this machine. It was very light and the hose was long.I haven't got round to trying it on my stairs yet but I'm sure it will be a lot easier with this one than my Vax Upright.I have also tried it on my dining room floor which is stone flags and for this I was most impressed. The cracks between the flags that get full of debris, well this machine sucked everything up in one go.It was brilliant and I can't wait to try it out on my car.Another good product from Vax.

It seems that most brands have now moved over to cylinder technology and moved away from bags. This model from Vax looks very Dyson like in design but with one stand out feature – the price! In use the suction is second to none, with little effort it gets every bit of dust, crumb, pet hair. The long reach tools and hose make it really easy to get under low furniture. The hose again comes into its own when doing the stairs or even reaching the cobwebs in the top corners of the room. If you do need less suction there is a vent that can be opened or closed on the on the hose handle.Moving around the home with this vacuum did initially take a bit of getting used to as I’m used to using an upright,I do find an upright covers more area faster but when it comes to versatility this Vax wins hands down.If I had one criticism, it would be that it doesn’t store away as well as an upright, the unit isn’t that big but combined with the lengthy hose you need to allocate a bit of cupboard space.Pro’s and Con’s weighed up at £99 this Vax is a winner.

I've only used my Vax Air Stretch a couple of times so far but have been very impressed by the suction taking up cat hairs on the stairs which other vacuums have struggled with in the past. I love that I can reach the whole staircase with the extra long hose without having to resort to carrying the vacuum up and down the stairs. The only negatives that I would mention is that it's quite noisy at times and makes a weird noise like a seal barking. I assume this is to do with the suction and may just be specific to when doing the stairs. I also found the plastic on the hose very rigid which it makes is a bit challenging to change the hoses over.I do have concerns that this rigidity might mean the parts are more likely to perish sooner than they should.Personally I prefer upright vacuums but this was bought specifically for the stairs and it does the job required very well. I've had Vax products for many years and have always been very pleased with them.

Got this cleaner last Tuesday but had to wait to the weekend to use. The instructions are basic . The suction is very powerful so much that it is nigh on impossible to push and pull the floorhead over the carpet (have to reduce the suction by opening the control in the handle by one notch. The power cable is long we have a large lounge, average dinning room, large kitchen and a hall. I can reach all rooms down stairs and clean the stairs all from the one power socket in the hall. swapping the hoses is a bit tricky and the is nowhere to stow the tools onboard the cleaner. The telescopic extension tube could be a bit longer, My wife and I are average height but found it gave us a bit of a back ache when hovering. It is very easy to empty and clean, however there is a ring of dust inside below the multicylones that I can not see how to clean. The turbotool works well and the stretch hose is excellent. I was amazed at how much came out the carpet!

I like this cleaner for a number of reasons.Firstly it’s very lightweight and easy to carry upstairs, in fact for me, it’s ideal for cleaning the actual stairs as my main cleaner is a heavy upright and not as manoeuvrable when it comes to staircases.Secondly it’s bagless, you just remove and empty the dust chamber whenever necessary. Thirdly, the stretch hose lets me easily reach around and behind things.I prefer to use my upright Miele for my routine cleaning because it’s fast and has exceptional suction, but this is perfect for on the spot cleaning jobs like food crumbs on the sofa, doing the stairs, and for getting into small spaces.Easy to use,the only negative is the slightly annoying noise it makes on the hard floor in my kitchen, so I stick to my upright in there.

a very strong well made vacuum cleaner that is almost perfect. It is lightweight and great, especially for stairs and the car, plus it has the right tools for this. The long reach hose makes it possible to stretch to the top of the stairs without having to move the vac from the bottom. The suction is very strong and picks up every bit from carpets and floors. It is easy to empty and put back together, takes up little space though not that small. It pulls around easily. I have only one little gripe and that is that it can be too strong a suction for rugs, it tends to pick them up instead of running over them. The handle has some control over the suction but not nearly enough.I won't mark it down for this because it cleans carpets so well. It is a very good buy.
