We currently already own a corded Dyson vacuum cleaner which we have been happy with, but after being offered a chance to own and try one of these Shark cordless vacuum cleaners I thought I would give it a go. To be honest I wasn’t really expecting something as good as this has turned out to be and I must admit that I love it.Everything you need comes in the box, so it only takes a minute or so to put it together, plus you have the usual accessories that you would expect, and a tote bag to keep them in, which you can put the charger and instruction booklet in as well, so everything can be easily found and stored. This comes with a partial charge, so you will need to charge it fully for full usage, although I did immediately have a quick go as there was a bit of a dust web in the corner of the room, on the ceiling. Once fully charged away you go, with so many ways to use this. As the actual main cylinder and battery part can come away from the rest it makes it easy to clean sofas, armchairs, and indeed your car. With this main part added to the rest you have the flexology stick which can bend low under furniture, which is a positive boon, as some things are too heavy or inconvenient to move each time you do the cleaning. You can set whether you need to do hard floor or carpeted floors from the power button, and you even have a trigger to use if you need a boost in power for certain accumulations of fur or what have you. This has anti-hair wrap technology, so is ideal for picking up pet hairs without having to clean the brush head all the time (or if my mum has visited), plus motorised brushes on the main brush head.Follow the instructions, because you are meant to fully discharge this after the first full charge to ‘prime’ the battery. The actual dust collector and filters for this can all be washed when needed, but please remember to make sure that they are left and fully dried before replacing them. It takes about three hours for the cleaner to be fully charged, and this will give you about forty minutes of use, which should be more than enough for most people. This is all logically designed and so really is a doddle to use, and I just love those headlights, which are also an immediate visual notification that everything is connected properly (along with the power light). With the allergy filter and the power of this you know that you are giving the place a good clean and removing particles that can cause problems for some people. In all I am loving this, and as I have never had an issue with doing the vacuuming myself, I think I will declare this as my own personal cleaner and will not let anyone use this. Compared with the corded Dyson that we already own I found this to be just as powerful, less noisier and easier to use in certain places, plus you also have the convenience of this being cordless and thus with this and the fact that it can be taken apart to be used as a handheld cleaner, a greater range of cleaning can be done. I know that some of these types of vacuum cleaners have a charging handle that you attach to the wall and thus hang the cleaner from it, but this one doesn’t. This has a transformer that you plug in via a small socket, so you can charge it wherever, and thus the convenience that you do not have to have the whole cleaner in the same place, plus the fully put together item does fold, making storage easier.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been pretty sceptical of cordless vacuum cleaners until now. Most have featured poor battery life, pretty compromised suction and weighed far too much to move around easily. They’ve been, in short, a poor compromise, compared to their cabled equivalents. I’ve had to now change that view. This 2020 model addresses all of my criticisms and makes a fantastic case for itself. For starters, it’s genuinely easy to manoeuvre, even my spindly arms can push this lightweight around. The illuminated flexible head makes getting under beds a cinch, too, an area that used to get cleaned once in a blue moon previously.Battery life at 40 mins is plenty enough to do the majority of my house. To be honest, after 40 minutes I’m pretty much tuckered out anyway so an even longer battery life wouldn’t actually benefit me. Charging is pretty speedy too and I like the fact that it just uses a standard wall-wart type power supply, not one of those awkward cradles that many alternatives employ. The way it folds down is really neat too, the thing takes up precious little room in the room.In terms of actual cleaning ability, this model is as powerful as I need. And while I don’t have any pets, its ability to pick up human hairs and direct them into the dust chamber is an absolute godsend… no more scrabbling around every few hours with a sharp knife to cut the hairs away from the roller. Downsides? The dust chamber fills up pretty quickly but it’s very easy to empty so that’s not really a bother. Other than that, I can’t really think of anything to seriously criticise. To summarise, this vacuum has changed my view on cordless types, no mean feat at all! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This vaccum is absolutely amazing I can't fault it in any way. I have heard so many things about the Shark vaccums so couldn't wait to get my hands on one however nothing could prepare me for how much I was going to love it.. I get so excited when I get to use it because I enjoy using it so much.. And now look for excuses and things I can vaccum just so I can get it out I am in shock with how powerful it was.. I vaccummed my bedroom the day before with my previous hoover and the shark picked up so much dirt and dust which was left behind. The battery life lasts so long too.. I managed to hoover my entire 2 bedroim house without it running out so I'm very impressed. The anti-hair wrap technology actively removes hair from the brush-roll as you clean which is great in our house as I have super thick, long hair and seem to malt hair everywhere aswell as having a cat and two dogs who also shed everywhere. Since having my baby I've had a bad back and the flexology wand bends with one click allowing you to clean underneath low-lying furniture and hard to reach places without having to bend which is an absolute lifesaver for me. Another help on my back is the fact it is super lightweight and pulls itself along which avoids any strain. However my favourite bit of all has to be the headlights.. I am obsessed with the headlights.. I never knew I needed them until I have them and now I will never go back.. Super good for seeing under the beds, low furniture, seeing all the specs of dirt and well it just looks super cool. Overall I would 100% recommend this to anyone especially busy mums and dad's as this has truly been a lifesaver for me with the ease and convenience of this vaccum

Bought to replace a dyson v6 that died (and like many people I don't want to support Dyson again) I read a lot of reviews before purchasing - most were gushing with praise and few were objective. So here's my take after a few days:Pros:Superbly good at cleaning floors - far better than the dyson ever wasBattery lasts longer than the dysonThe bendy pipe works well and it packs up surprisingly smallThe max power trigger is great - means you have power when you need it without leaving it on and draining the batteryBin is actually easy to empty (unlike the dyson)Almost as cool looking as the dyson - better in real life than in the picturesAnti-hair wrap has worked so far - I must have spent hours cutting long hair off the previous vacuumit's nice and quiet.Probably less than half the noise of the V6Cons:The head doesn't seem to clean as close to the edge as the dyson did and being much larger is a little more tricky for stairs. Of course you can swap to the small nozzle to do the edgesThere's no charging dock or wall bracket. This meant we have to find a space on the floor to stand it and physically plug the charge cable in instead of just hanging it up.It's heavy. The stick part is noticeably more heavier than the dyson but the head is really weighty. Fine for me but some of us get arm ache after using it for a little while. The fact it's so heavy actually made us consider sending it back but in the end the pros far outweighed the cons. I can't imagine finding a lighter one that works so well. If you consider that it's a cordless stick vacuum that has all the capabilities of a really decent upright then you will easily forgive a little extra weight.

Think of handheld vacuums and the chances are that Black & Decker and Dyson will come to mind. But Shark?A relative newcomer to the cleaning scene, Shark is priding itself on delivering top-quality products that feel their weight in the asking price.Seriously, this thing is heavy; perhaps too heavy for those who are used to lighter counterparts. Using the device in its handheld configuration is the most taxing part, as the attachments alone feel heavier than they should. Their usefulness is also confusing, and I've yet to decide which is the most suitable attachment for the stairs. However, the product really shines when you use it in the traditional mode of cleaning the floor, with its long funnel and carpet head. I was surprisingly made up with how effortless it is to manoeuvre the device, especially around tricky corners. I can drive round this place faster than Aryton Senna! There are a few reasons for this; the carpet attachment has its own motorised 'roller' that, essentially, pulls the attachment forwards (so it requires less pushing force), and the gimbal between the head and attachment allows for a wide degree of movement. The suction power is excellent - so much so that I was a bit scared of just how much extra dust this thing was pulling out of my house! And charging times are decent, although the battery unit itself does take up quite a bit of space.Overall this is an impressive product that, although more expensive than the competition, does feel practically bulletproof. It's weight and the ambiguity over the attachments are drawbacks, but will not apply to everyone.

I have been really pleased with this product overall. The suction is excellent and tackles my carpet and hard floors really well. This product has replaced a cordless upright and I hadn't used a stick / wand type cleaner before. I had to get used to the fact that you can't just leave it standing and walk away, you need to put the whole thing down, lean it against something or put it in the storage position. It also feels 'top heavy' compared to what I'm used to. I'm sure that would be expected for someone switching from an upright model to a wand, and after using it for a while it's far less noticeable. It's very versatile as it gives you various options from handheld, to handheld with an extension,to upright and it's very manoeuverable (again once you get used to the way the wand works). The flexibility in the wand design is great as it allows you to clean under tables and chairs easily, but also means it takes up less room when it's not in use. It's easy to empty, though not a massive capacity. It feels well engineered, unlike my previous Vax, as everything disconnects and connects easily and is made from good quality materials. The tools are very useful - it's easy to do the stairs and the car. It's a big improvement from my previous vacuum cleaner and I would definitely recommend it to others. We've had our shark about a month and it is so easy to use. We had a Henry before and we were bored hauling it about and having to plug it in, been looking for a cordless and read great reviews of sharks. Very happy with the weight and the height is okay for both me and my husband (5'3" & 6'3"). It's extremely easy to use and to change attachments, I like the wee tote bag too to keep everything together. The LEDs really highlight any dusty areas and the power is terrific, I genuinely feel as if our last vacuum did virtually nothing when I look at the dust the shark had picked up! I can do two bedrooms, hall, living room and kitchen and might have to empty the cylinder twice, which is a bit small, but worth the sacrifice when it's so easy to empty anyway!Used it to vacuum the car and it was so good! The pet hair attachment was brilliant for the mats. The most incredible thing for me though, is the lack of hair in the roller! I have long thick hair and I'm guaranteed to lose about 10 strands a day from just touching my hair, even more when brushing. All the hair is collected around a filter in the cylinder in a neat wee cone shape.I am so delighted with our shark and my husband actually uses it too!

OK - first let me start by admitting a 'pet hate'. I intensely dislike when people take a word and add 'ology' to the end of it to make it sound more scientific or technological. This vacuum cleaner has a hinged main shaft (they call that part the 'wand' in the instructions). This is a superb idea - it allows the vaccuum to more easily clean under low object like coffee tables, it allows it to be 'folded in half' for storage, making it more stable and compact, and allowing easy charging from low-to-the-floor power sockets. It is a GREAT bit of innovation... but please... 'reflexology'?OK - grouse over, back to the cleaner itself.I love it. It's effective, easy to use, with the supplied attachments it is versatile,a single charge does all I need around my home in one go. It's easy to empty, it charges quickly. Great. If I was looking for a complaint, it has a 'trigger' that supposedly give it an extra boost of power if you pull it. To be brutally honest, pulling the trigger makes the vaccuum louder and higher pitched in sound - but did I actually notice much difference in its cleaning? No.Other than that (and 'reflexology' of course - the word, not the concept) excellent. Recommended.

Have had a few Shark hoovers over the years now, and would say that this is probably the favourite. It is very lightweight and easy to move around in the upright position. You actually get a sense with the powerful motor that you are somewhat being pulled along with the brushes, I personally find that an aid when hoovering once you get used to it.It has both carpet and floor modes, and a boost button for those tough areas that just aren't coming up. The flex technology allows you to get right under chairs/tables etc. without any fiddling around, and with it folding right over it packs away as freestanding storage in half the space of a normal hoover. It also comes apart to works as a handheld,so is good for stairs, doing your car etc. There's various other attachments to, so you can do curtain rails...basically, it can do anything you need it to!Battery life is good, I can do a few full runs of the house without it needing a charge at all, and it's back up to full power in few hours. Costs about the price you would expect for a vacuum of this quality, so no real issue there. Great all rounder.

I have a very heavy dyson and a hand held dyson ! The battery lasting one flight of stairs. I have arthritis and my hands are getting worse so I researched the best cordless hoover shark came out top every time. I have a three storey house so I was dubious but I bought one . I love my shark it’s not that noisy it has this great little light that shows up the dirt you might actually miss, it kind of runs away ready to clean when you turn it on, I have used all of the little extras it does a quick clean of the whole 3 floors on one battery charge but if you want a good clean I basically did half the house on one charge - including stairs, stair rise, sofa, upholstery I had a quick cup of tea while on charge then I finished the remainder of the house . Sorry dyson but you have some pretty stiff competition with the shark . Even the cats are not afraid of the shark and it picks up pet hair better than any hoover ! Me and my daughter have longish hair and I got so fed up of trying to take apart my old hoover but with the shark there is nothing wrapped around it’s all in the waste pot .

We purchased this hoover a few weeks ago now. It was very easy to put together and is so much quieter than my old dyson that I thought it didn’t seem as powerful but it picks everything up and leaves nice carpet lines which I love! The suction is great when no tools are added but it doesn’t seem to have as good suction when the main tool is being used as I have tested with my hand but i suppose the roller helps grab any dirt and as I said it picks every bit of dirt off my carpets and hard floors with no problems so I’m not complaining. The only downsides I have about this hoover is that it is quite top heavy and it doesn’t stand up on its own if you need to quickly stop what your doing etc and I think it may be too heavy for an elderly person as all the weight is in the handle. Also i feel like I’m charging it a lot but I do sometimes use it multiple times a day to do quick crumb pick ups (if you have children you will understand) but overall I’m happy with it and it is a lot more convenient and easier to use compared to my old corded Dyson!

I’ve had this vacuum cleaner for 2 weeks and I have to say I absolutely love it. It’s quick and easy to use and has a high end performance for a reasonable price. The massive pluses for the shark I are;- long life battery that lasts 40 minutes or more allowing me to clean my entire 5 bedroom house without the need to charge half way through. - it’s light and doesn’t hurt your arm when using for an extended period of time. - The anti hair wrap system really works and have had no issues getting my 2 dogs hair off of soft furnishings. - the attachments are incredible and do exactly what it says on the tin.- the flexi hose allows for easy cleaning under furniture whilst the headlights really illuminate any missed dust or hair.- quick and easy Empty I will be investing in a second battery so that I can swap them over for longer periods of cleaning. Amazing product, well done Shark. Highly recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a little gem.Firstly let me note my only bad point - the auction isn’t amazing but that’s it.Anti Hair wrap is worth every penny and more. It’s a miracle addition which will keep me with shark forever and a day.Headlights - so when you think your floor has picked up everything as you would after a normal hoover around. Think again, the headlights on a shark show every spec and your left feeling extra satisfied knowing you’ve mastered every crumb, hair, dirt........The cleaner folds in half very easily with the press of one button. It’s very compact and lightweight which I’m sure would slot into any household easily. As the cleaner will lay flat,I have now cleaned underneath my sofas more than ever - no need to wait for that monthly, let’s find time to pull the furniture out so we can vacuum. Bonus!!!All in all - a fab cordless cleaner suitable for the young to the elderly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

After our Dyson burning out after 15 years and filling our kitchen with smoke, we thought it best to go modern. My Wife decided that the Shark offered the best solution to our cleaning problems. It was then a choice of picking the right one in the range and we chose well. The machine has been nothing but a joy to use. In fact, I have even found out where it lives and have used it myself. It is light and powerful and my Wife has been going over surfaces that the Dyson had done and also my George that I use for the car, which was a temporary stop gap until the Shark was delivered and she found that the Shark found more dust and pet Black Labrador hairs than both the previous vacuums had failedto spot.We were so impressed that Goerge now has a buddy in the garage with a Shark handheld.Great product and fortunatelt for us the Shark of choice was on a deal.Happy vacuuming.

I have had my shark cordless for around a month now and it is fabulous! a decent 45 min run time, compact and easy to use, also came with useful accessories, particularly impressed with the anti hair wrap as my hair is the No1 culprit for breaking previous Vacuum cleaners. At first I struggled to see how it was picking up so much stuff without a huge pressure of suction like on my previous Vac, however the proof is in the pudding with how much stuff it got up (in particular dog hair) out of my room rug that I have vacuumed the day before. I was very impressed and still am, I love not having to stop and plug/unplug between every room and maneuvering round the wires of a plug in vacuum. I love it!only criticism I could make it that it is a little difficult to carry when folded over, could do with maybe a small hook or handle to use so you are not having to grab the tubing.
