Moving into a new home, with a new vacuum, is very exciting. I luckily had the chance to try out this new addition to the Shark cordless vacuum line in a home prior to, and indeed after, furniture arrival. Our new home needed a good clean of real wood flooring, tiles and carpets. The perfect opportunity to test out the range of this vacuum's Lithium Ion battery and the versatility of its duo clean tech!Out of the box the unit looks neat and tidy, feels light, and above all looks like a solid build in terms of materials and construction. The instruction book is simple, but to the point, making the most of a few pages to communicate troubleshooting, setup options and maintenance.I had some charge already in the battery to check the unit was working, but placed it on charge and had a full battery in 60 minutes. Charging was easy via the adapter and battery itself, but you can also charge the battery on the vacuum to save the need for constant removal.First use and I was very impressed. On the wooden and tile floors it felt light but substantial with the battery and motor weight in the handle. It glides amazingly and was very easy to control. Control was important to me as the kitchen in the new house had bespoke painted units that I was paranoid about our usual vacuum which is bulky would chip paintwork. The Shark unit was easy to guide up to furniture and units, and the outside of the Shark’s vacuum “head” has cushioned bristles to stop marking. In carpet mode it was equally comfortable, with added “pull” with two brush heads fully engaged. I’d had to do some wallpaper stripping in one of the carpeted rooms, so the Shark had a real test to pick up some of the leftover finer wallpaper fragments and dust. It coped well, needing only a few passes over a given section to suck if clean of debris.I’ve always been dubious about cordless vacuums, because battery tech varies so wildly between products and brands, but I’m pretty impressed with the Shark’s longevity and ease of charging. You have two run modes. The first is the standard “extended run mode” which gives the advertised 20 minutes plus of happy vacuuming. However, I confess I used on nearly every room the “max power” mode. Less runtime, but extra oomph…After a few days of cleaning I’m still suitably impressed, with just a few points to note. The first note is that the unit doesn’t really cut in with removing anything adhered to a floor. Loose debris it is amazing on, but stubborn stuck on items required other cleaning methods. The second note is for the maintenance; it’s easy to clean with all filters being removable and water cleansed. Plus there’s a unique cut line groove in the brush head where users can safely cut through wrapper strands of hair etc. that have been caught and wrapped around the brush head.Overall, this unit is amazing for day to day quick cleaning, though I’d advise buying a second battery. Especially if you want to be certain of cleaning a whole standard-sized house in one go. The weight is ideal, the flexibility and maintenance is fluent and not a chore, but I wouldn’t throw out your backup steam mop if you have hard floors for those more stubborn items needing removal. I’m certainly impressed though and this is a minor flaw in an otherwise flawlessly produced item; I’m certainly a Shark convert and would strongly recommend the Shark experience when it comes to cordless tech. I’ve not tried a better cordless unit and while the item at the moment seems quite expensive from retailers, the time you save in cleaning quickly and effortlessly is worth every penny.

This is a very impressive device. First off, the design is great! There. Are two lockable elbow joints along the length of the pole, which allows the vacuum to fold down into a much tidier and easily storable shape and the other joint allows the motorised head to be pushed under low furniture without you needing to crouch down or catch the pole on the edge of your table or cabinet. If you are doing stairs, you can quickly remove the pole and re-attach the motorised head to the handset and easily run it over the stairs . Once folded into its storage position, there is a handle to use and carry the vacuum to and from rooms. It also comes with a small selection of nozzles to clean crevices, curtains and soft furnishings although I haven’t had the need to use all of these, they are handy options. There is a carrying bag provided for these tools but I couldn’t see anywhere on the machine to store them . Lastly, another great thing is the removable battery, which clicks into the hand set and can be charged in or outside of the vacuum. It gives the option of buying another battery and simply releasing one battery and slapping in another to get the job done. Spare batteries are expensive, however, at around £70 at the time of writing, but it’s a great idea.Build quality is great with sturdy, heavy duty plastic joints and connections on the long and durable feeling metal pipe that connects the hand set to the motorised head. Both these latter items are plastic but do not feel delicate or easily breakable. I really appreciate sturdy build quality after years of broken catches and connections on the Dyson vacuums I’ve owned. In it’s full upright position, weight is nicely distributed and it feels fairly lightweight to me. When power is on and the motorised head is running, the machine pulls you forward which is helpful but makes pulling it back for another sweep a little more difficult. Not anything I have a problem with but worth mentioning.. the head has a soft sponge roller for wooden floors and a standard nylon brush for carpets so you don’t need to change the head if you move to a room with a different floor covering. Great!Controls on the handle are simple with a toggle switch to turn the cleaner on and off, another to switch from carpet to wooden or tiled flooring and the third to ramp it up to high power for stubborn dirt. There is a three light indicator on the battery to give power levels at a glance. Power lasts for around 22 minutes, which has been more than adequate for my four bedroom house. I don’t use the high power setting much at all as the normal setting gives lots of power.Cleaning wise, this has consistently picked up a lot of hair and thread and fibre and tinsel over the Christmas weeks and the brussh has never been tangled up with it. It always looks like it is doing a good job of cleaning the floors and there is always a bit of dirt to deposit into the bin. Emptying the canister is easy with a press of a button although you may need to get your fingers into the cavity to remove hair or fibre that does not immediately fall out but that is the same on all vacuums.I purchased this Shark cordless stick vacuum for £199.99 and at that price, I think it is.a no brainer for the power and quality it provides and the ease of use with the jointed pole for getting under tables and cabinets. The Dyson competition will sell you their latest V7 cordless stick for £400 more and giving you slightly better suction power but - in my opinion - a less robust machine. I’m a convert to the Shark brand now and I’m not looking back with any regret.

I'm comparing this a bit to my older corded shark rocket which was good, but having the same (or better?) power in a cordless is just great.Being cordless it's perfect for the car, the handheld mode is small and light enough to easily manoeuvre around all the interior. The blue finish even matches our car :)Back in the house the DuoClean rollers really work for combination hard flooring/carpet like ours. My old vacuum just had a single roller that tended to flick heavier dirt around our hard floors, but this one just polishes it all up.I had my first and only blockage when it sucked up some modelling balloons (who put those there?!)which ended up wrapped tight around both rollers - the green light which shows rollers operating normally switched to red as the rollers stopped, clearly showing me something was stuck. The cover was easy to pop off and gave loads of room to get at and clear the problem. Getting inside the vacuum like that you can really tell the quality of the parts. Everything from the buttons on the handle to the way the flex wand clicks into place as you unfold and the way the battery slots in and out, it all feels well made and built to last. One thing I do miss is that whilst having headlights on the main floor attachment are good (especially for cleaning under tables etc), my older model had a smaller light on the handle as well which was perfect for spotting cobwebs on the ceiling when you're using the wand and crevice tool. I've found a cheap led torch in one hand does the job just as well though. The battery took 2.5hrs to charge the first time (it arrives partly charged), from empty it will take around 3.5 hours. That's quite a long time to wait if you just want to do a bit of cleaning so you do need to remember to put it to charge after using. You then get 22 mins in handheld mode according to the instructions - I expected to get a lot less when using the motorised rollers but I think it still gives you about 20 mins. That's halved though when you use 'max power' mode. Most vacuums I ever owned that have had a power setting, I always keep them set to the max otherwise it feels like they're underpowered, but with this, the default 'extended runtime' setting is more than adequate, and less noisy - max power is really too much! Around 20 mins of runtime should be plenty to get around a daily clean, but the fear of running out before finishing still has me thinking about getting an extra battery pack and charging dock ...Overall I think the design, features, and performance of this vacuum are really top notch. Charging a battery is so much easier than wrangling cables, and this has all the power I'm used to from corded models.

The most amazing vacuum ever! Having used various corded and cordless vacuums over the years I can truly say I've hit perfection with this Shark. I didn't actually buy mine from Amazon, but feel compelled to leave a review all the same. Compared with the Dyson this Shark is simply streets ahead. Where the Dyson ate mats, the Shark glides smoothly across them, pulling itself along in the same fun way you experienced as a kid when you first got a toy motor car. OK, it pays not to stop at the edge of a mat or that edge will get sucked in, but the Shark manages to clean the mat thoroughly without dragging the whole thing up from the floor. I'm talking washable cotton turtle mats here,as well as their cheaper imitations. On hard floors the Shark actually picks up the bits, grit, fluff, dog hairs without spitting any out behind it: that's a first for me, who have usually used upright vacuums in the past. Cleaning is actually fun, so much so that the second day of my Shark ownership I just had to get it out again and hoover up a few crumbs, just for the gadgety feel of the thing. And the little lights are so cool, and do serve a purpose in dark corners. The Shark is also ten times more manoeuvrable than the Dyson which I found heavy and cumbersome. It took me twenty minutes to hoover two quite dirty rooms and a hallway downstairs, a bedroom and bathroom as well as countless spider webs in ceiling corners: I had to do the cobwebs in order to run the battery flat for the first use, as recommended. This is because if you don't empty a Lithium battery completely the first time it kind of remembers how much charge it needs, and the more frequently you charge it without it being totally discharged, the less charge it will hold in future.I have always read the above type of review with a certain amount of scorn, believing the authors to be sad, lonely people who have nothing better to do than write endless reviews. In that case, I'd like to say I'm neither sad nor lonely nor bored: just someone who has found a gadget which fulfils every promise made by its makers. What a rarity in a world of constant disappointment. Thank you Shark for putting some fun in my over-busy life. From one who had learned to hate cleaning, and who now dances round the house like a 50's housewife singing as she plays.

It has HEADLIGHTS!I am not usually someone who enjoys cleaning so it is kind of a big deal for me that I am now looking for an excuse to wheel my Shark vacuum out (and with 3 kids and a Beagle an excuse to vacuum is not hard to find)You don't so much push this thing around, it pulls you so you have to hold it back! The vacuum cleaner is awesome at going between hard floors and thick rugs and also for getting under tables and in hard to reach places. The dust cup does fill quite quickly (granted that might be because I am battling an ever present trail of biscuit crumbs and dog hair) but it is really easy to empty and its the trade off for keeping this a lightweight machine to use I guess.I find that this model copes well with dog hair,I would be interested to see the difference between this and a model designed specifically to tackle the issue of pet debris though. You can find my full review on the Mummy & Moose blog.Upon arrival I found the battery was half charged and took approx 90 mins to get up to fully charged. If charging from empty you should expect a waiting time of 3.5 hours. The only thing I dislike about the IF200UK is that it only comes with a single battery which is a shame (although you can order an additional one along with a dual charging dock). If you aren't using it on its maximum power setting you can expect around 20 minutes of runtime. The aesthetics of this model are really pleasing to the eye and it feels of a good build quality. I am sure this is a product which will last for many years. My sister (usually a fan of the opposition - rhymes with Bison) has already purchased a Shark for herself after seeing how great this is!I really like how easy this product is to store too. The handle folds so it can be stood under our breakfast bar ready for its next outing! It also comes with a handy tote bag to store all of the accessories.I bought a cordless hoover a few years ago and thanks to its seriously shoddy sucking power I presumed I could never be won over. I was wrong. I can tackle the stairs with ease and my car has never looked so clean!

I switched this little machine on, and away it zoomed! I was quite surprised by the small size of this vacuum, but it definitely does not lack any suction. Only vacuuming the floor by the door filled the dust cup to the max fill line! We were wowed by the flexology and it’s low profile meaning for the first time ever we could vacuum underneath the wardrobe/ coffee table/ desks, and we didn’t have to get on our hands and knees!Living in a three storey house used to be a pain lugging a huge vacuum up all the stairs, but it’s so easy to run up and down with it due to it being so lightweight, and small. If I connect the floor nozzle directly to the handheld motor,it’s narrow width makes it perfect for quickly and easily cleaning the stairs. An issue I usually have is that my long hair gets wrapped around the brush rolls and takes forever to remove after trying to be able to get access to the roll in the first place. But on this machine there is a handy grove that I can just snip along on the brush roll, and the panel above the brush that you simply unclick makes the job take only a few minutes.I tried it on the wooden floor using the hard floor setting, and it not only got rid of the dust, it gave the floor a little polish too, so it has a nice shine without any effort. The storage mode is excellent as it can be hidden away in a cupboard easily because it becomes very compact, stands up on its own, and doesn’t have to be an eyesore mounted on the wall or plugged in.My only small negative is that, being left-handed, I cannot see the fill line on the dust cup, the battery level or empty the dust cup as easily. That being said, the world is set up for right-handers, so this issue isn’t isolated to this device. This vacuum cleaner has actually made vacuuming quite an enjoyable experience rather than a chore. I would 100% recommend.

The model I’m reviewing here is the Shark IF200UK. It’s now the permanent replacement for a corded Hoover I previously had & it’s brilliant. It took about 1½hrs to get the battery fully topped up (arrived about half charged) & lasted for a good 20 minutes which is more than adequate for this house! My mum has dementia & a lovely lady (thank you Lynn) pops in once a week to give a top to bottom vacuum (living room, kitchen, stairs & two bedrooms). Her exact words to me were “Oh my god, this is so much easier, thank you”.The rooms have a mix of short pile carpets & cushion-floor & the standard power setting worked perfectly on both.Because of the light weight & flexibility of the Shark cordless it saves having to drag the dining table out to vac under & in-between the legs. The very flexible & slim design made it easy to get to almost all the awkward bits & simply unclipping the brush head & sliding on the crevice tool made it a doddle to get to all the tricky corners (spiders beware :-)By far the biggest benefit (for us anyway), is the absolute ease of vacuuming the staircase. No cable, no silly flexible pipe that never quite reaches & so light. Because the weight (and there isn’t much of it), is all pretty much in the bit you hold, it’s so easy to swing the head across the steps...... Brilliant!!!To sum up: Incredibly flexible in use, light, quiet yet surprisingly powerful, easy to empty & clean; all the clicky bits feel really solid. Simple & extremely well engineered. The most important thing we have is time & this saves some. Love it, thank you.

Read all the reviews before buying one for myself and here is my personal take on ownership,Great lightweight and so easy to use it's a pleasure to duck and dive all round the house, has many great features when in use such as lays virtually flat and the headlamps show up everything, also the swivel action and low deck height enable you to get under most things. I live in a fairly large bungalow with low pile carpets and there is only the two of us here with no pets so the machine does not have to work very hard and haven't needed to use the boost mode yet as ok in standard setting. Through experience have found you need to do a forward and then a backward sweep to get a brilliant result which perhaps many people have not tried and subsequently are disappointed with the results.Overall am very happy with it and the shark has all but eliminated all the dust from my carpets, it's amazing how much dust you clean out of the filters in the first couple of weeks but over time it reduces and becomes minor.Perhaps my only gripe is that the battery does not last long as they say it should and I do make sure it is 100% charged prior to use, even with low pile carpets and not hanging about when using it I just about manage to do all the house. My advice would be if you can stretch to it get a standby battery as you may well need to swap mid use if you want to do every room.

I've spent years trying to find a cordless vacuum that can replace my normal vacuum, but have always been disappointed with the performance or awkwardness. I love my Shark Lift-Away so I knew I'd like a cordless Shark and it's safe to say I'm not disappointed. It's powerful, lightweight and really versatile. The last cordless I tried had to be stored on the wall to charge and you had to bend to change attachments, but with this one you simply flick a switch and it compacts so that it's freestanding to store, and you can remove the battery for charging if you don't want to charge it in the unit, no ugly wall mount needed!Instead of bending over to detach heads you can simply press a small button at the top for the hand vac or pop your foot on the pedal at the bottom to release the long part and then you're ready to grab the cobwebs above! The flexible wand is great for getting under beds without having to move them or pull anything out of the way, and the soft brush at the front of the head seems to get all of the stuck on bits that sit on my laminate floors. The only downside is that I'm now vacuuming more because it's so convenient. It's so easy to just grab and do a quick clean up!I feel like this is the cordless vacuum cleaner I've tried to find for a long time and it's finally here, I won't be using any others now. Well done Shark!!

This model was on offer so I thought I would buy it as I had been looking at them for quite a while as I find it difficult now to manouver my full sized vacuum cleaner. I found it quite light and very flexible. Brilliant at going under tables etc. You need two hands to lift the emptying cannister off the main stem and as this vacuum does not stand upright on its own, I found it a little difficult standing it upright, pressing the release button and pulling the handle on the cannister. I have found a way though, I grab the main stem between my knees and it pull the cannister off.I find it best to empty every time I've used it as the cannister is only small.I find it does not clean right up to the skirting so I have to use a brush to move any dirt away for the cleaner to pick up. It also has a tendancy to drop bits where you have cleaned but will pick them up again as you go over it again. Quite powerful for a cordless and will fluff your carpets up with the roller bars and on full power. I have a messy parrot that drops his seeds and this is ideal for clearing it up. Happy I bought it and delivery was very fast. I would liked to have compared it to another cordless as this is the first time I have bought one.

Had this product for about two weeks now. It’s a dream. Exactly what I wanted from a vacuum. I got it at January sale price with free delivery and this made it even better value. It’s easy to assemble, the battery charges quickly (and you have the option to buy a spare), it is versatile and very manoeuvreable around various spaces.I don’t have any carpets but I do have a three-bed semi and I can easily do the whole house from top to bottom with one charge, including the stairs, and still have battery power remaining. The regular suction function works perfectly for the job.It is easy to empty and the style means it dispenses straight into a bin or bag; no mess. This Shark folds down neatly to make storage more convenient.I also liked the bag to store the different attachments. It’s relatively lightweight but the battery does make the handle part heavier. Not overly so but, if you might struggle, I’d suggest testing one before buying. My mum tried it and agreed whilst it wasn’t heavy it was still weighty.I love the design and function of this vacuum. It is simple, yet complex because it can carry out a variety of tasks. It looks good and is easy to keep clean. I have high hopes for my Shark!

Got this after our cordless vacuum made by the famous British brand packed in after just two years. I have to say this Shark is superior in every way and I got it for about £100 less than the equivalent D____.Battery life is good, i have managed ten rooms without being even close to empty. The on/off button is better than a trigger - no hand fatigue. Also great that you can change from carpet to hardfloor at the touch of a button too.It is surprisingly quiet on normal setting (gets louder on boost). The duo roller design seems particularly good at lifting big crumbs. When I used to do carpeted areas with the previous cordless, I always felt " that will do until the proper (corded) hoover..." - however, using this Shark on the boost setting does a really good job of leaving the carpets spotless and has negated the need for the corded vacuum! The fold-over storage design is great and the headlights are a fancy touch.Overall, I think this is excellent and would recommend Shark over you-know-who to anyone!

In terms of versatility, this is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. It is light and easy to use whether cleaning the main floors or the stairs or reaching cob webs. It will clean both carpets and hard floors with no problem whatsoever. Why other vacuum cleaners don't have the fold down shaft to allow cleaning under coffee tables and other furniture, I don't know? When finished, the fold down shaft allows the vacuum cleaner to be stored in a very small area. The only downside is the single battery and charger which gives about 20 minutes usage. I have since bought a second battery and double battery holder / charger which allows me to charge two batteries to give ~40 minutes of usage. If you buy the more expensive model, you will get two batteries and the dual battery holder / charger. Whether you buy this model and add the extras separately or buy the more expensive model, the price works out at about the same.Shark DuoClean Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Flexology [Single Battery] IF200UK

This is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever bought/used. It's SO lightweight that I use it so much more than I ever used my heavy Dyson (which made vacuuming such a chore). Now I can just get it out the cupboard so easily and vacuum for a few minutes if something needs doing quickly. The handheld section is really useful and powerful and gets into all the nooks and crannys....I use it round the edge of the kitchen floor every day. The battery life is really good and I can just about do my whole house on one charge (which is a 4 bed) if I do just straight forward vacuuming the carpets and floors. And I like the fact the battery comes out so you can just charge it discreetly in a corner without making the place look a mess! And it's so easy to empty and clean.... unlike my previous one which needed me to go outside and pick bits out and bash it and just making a general mess.I've recommended this product to so many people. I don't think I'll ever go back to a heavy brick of a vacuum ever again.

The story goes like this:My mother's vacuum was not picking up her budgie seed from the carpet very well, and when it did, it dropped them out again once it was turned off. My brother ordered her one of these Shark vacuums, even though I wanted to get her a Dyson. My brother convinced me that these Sharks are good and explained he already had one.The day my mother's Shark arrived I went to give it a try. By the time I left her house, I had already ordered one for myself (and I already own two very good Dysons). This thing isn't the be all and end all but I was very impressed. My brother is an electrical engineer and I'm very fussy with structural design and build quality. We both rate this vac very highly. It's only been a few weeks but so far so good, but with a 5 year guarantee I feel quite confident. Should this Shark ever let me down and the guarantee turns out to be useless then I'll never stray from Dyson again, but until then, I've been converted.
