I'm going to start this review by saying I really like this vacuum cleaner. I bought it based on the strength of reviews online as well as reviews on here. A lot of salient points have already been made, so I'll try not to repeat them much.I live in a one bedroom flat that's split on two floors. I have no problems with the battery running out on doing the vacuuming, and not having to constantly move a plug around while vacumming is fantastic. This Bosch is also great on the stairs - which is great as they get a lot of use in my flat. I just plug it in to charge after each use (I've moved to the idea of quick cleans often since buying this) and it seems to take several hours to fill up again. As I said, this isn't a problem for me, but it's worth bearing in mind that there's no second battery pack or any way of swapping batteries - in case you think it won't be able to do your own house. For comparison, I've also used a Dyson V6 that was only a few weeks older than my Bosch Athlet. Their cleaning capabilities are actually pretty evenly matched in day-to-day use, I'd say. Manoeuvrability of both is about the same (due to the weight balance of each, they're quite different in feel but the end results are equally effective). However, the dust bin in the Dyson is better designed in terms of emptying it - the Bosch one has (in my opinion) a couple of flaws in the mechanism by which you empty the bin which mean unless you're careful you'll get dust everywhere. The Dyson doesn't have the same flaw in this regard - but isn't perfect itself. I do like the trigger mechanism more on the Dyson to use it, and think the power switch on the Bosch is poorly placed.Where the Dyson really shines over the Bosch (and in fact even my old corded cheap vacuum) is the push-fit accessories. Okay, the Dyson requires a click mechanism to remove the parts, but you can easily remove or attach the vacuum heads and accessories to work with - say - just the extension pipe. The Bosch, on the other hand, has to be disassembled a bit then reassembled. What is normally a few seconds work to change to a different head is almost a minute of clicks and pulls. It just feels like a lot of faff due to poor design choices. (And this is coming from someone who is an engineer who also enjoys rebuilding cars!)Would I buy the Dyson V6 over the Bosch? If they were the same price, yes. But not only are the Dysons a bit more pricey, I got the Bosch a bit cheaper on Prime day and for the price difference I will happily live with its shortcomings. The difficulty in using other attachments is not the end of the World, it just means I vacuum differently (rather than doing the carpet and edges all at once, I do the carpet everywhere first, then go back and do all the edges). So, what do I think of the Bosch? In all I really like it and highly recommend it - with the caveat that if you like to vacuum up spiders and have lots of other frequent needs for the accessories, you may not get on quite so well with it.One last point; when I unpacked mine, charged it, and then used it for the first time, it was _very_ noisy. So much so that I was considering returning it. After doing a room I looked at the spinning brush in the head, and found it had become loose during transit. It's easy to remove, (perhaps too easy - especially when compared with the bits you're supposed to remove!) so I unclipped it then reattached it and the noise was suddenly much much better!

Purchased this to replace our old Dyson DC40 (which I have always hated) as we have recently moved house and we now have 6 flights of stairs and no plug sockets on any of the landings or half landings. As a result, cordless was an absolute essential. We also have a dog so needed a cleaner which could pick up the vast amounts of fur that she leaves trailing in her wake. As well as carpets we also have wood and stone floors so a versatile vacuum was also very important.I've always like Bosch for large white goods but not tried their vacuum cleaners before. I was attracted to this one by the fact that the battery life seemed longer than other similarly priced cordless cleaners.I wanted one that I could get from cellar to attic rooms in one go. The price seemed good for the quality too.So my 4 essentials - cordless, good battery life, ability to change surface types easily, could pick up labrador fur. The Bosch gets ticks in all boxes. The only thing I wasn't sure of was the size of the cylinder - it looked small in the photos and I wasn't sure if it would do the whole house. But I've been pleasantly surprised. I tend to empty it after vacuuming the ground floor (which is the dog hair heavy area) and then do the rest of the house in one go. I would also say in the interests of full disclosre, that I am slovenly and only vacuum about once a week. For context the house has 10 rooms across 4 levels.I really didn't think this little vacuum would be up to it but so far it's been great! It's quiet, manoeuvrable, does the whole house on one battery charge (battery also charges quickly which is handy), picks up dog fur. Now if it could just tidy up my son's room while I have a cup of tea it would be perfect!Would recommend.

I LOVE this .. bought it to replace my much loved Henry ..however this is miles better . It is very light and easy to use and I can now hoover every day without having to think about dragging Henry out of his hidey hole. It is very easy to use . the three speeds are brilliant . I normally use the second speed .. I have a black cat and it picks up her hairs brilliantly. The gizmo for attaching the other bits IS a tad fiddly so I don't bother just change the bottom bit and carry the hoover bit around without having to use the strap.. it is that light . I was looking at teh GTech but bought this one as it came with the attachments. I have yet to use it for the car. Pros .. very light and easy to use..the head swivels all over the place so you can get into those awkward corners .. battery charges quickly and the light tells you when it's done .. comes already with the attachmentts so you don't have to buy another hoover .. stores easily upright so you don't have to faff about fixing it the wall... easy to empty . Cons .. attaching the other bits takes a bit of getting used to and the clips are quite hard to get off but I have mastered that .. I have to empty it after every hoover as I have a cat and it fills up quickly .. ( however it is really easy to empty ) doesn't pick up the bits via the side of the head as the Henry does but I just swivel the head round and job done. All in all a brilliant piece of kit

It's probably worth mentioning that I own a pet-friendly B&B (as well as having dogs of my own) and I am therefore quite particular about vacuum cleaners and their effectiveness. I haven't owned a cordless vacuum before and I absolutely love the ease of not having to faff around with a cable (changing sockets, it getting caught on stuff along the way etc). This particular model was very easy to put together when it arrived and I love the lightweight, slim design. It is however definitely lacking so far as power is concerned and when I use it, I can't help but be reminded of those old-fashioned carpet sweepers - this feels like a modern-day version. The pick up is 'so so'even on Turbo (you can go back and forth over the same area and still see the fluff/hair/whatever that you are trying to pick up). That said, it does seem to be more effective on hard floors than carpets and as a plus, it is very quiet. I would conclude that this is a great 'back up' vacuum to quickly 'titify' a room(s) if you e.g. had guests due but realistically, any household with pets ideally requires a good, corded hoover with the additional power and effective pick up to maintain clean carpets in the long-term. The hose and attachments are also a bit of a faff to amend/attach, making a thorough clean with this appliance too much like hard work but for a quick 'once over', it's absolutely ideal.

I'll be honest: I was sceptical about a cordless cleaner. We have 4 cats. It's a constant battle. This was a revelation. The old Dyson was winning in a battle of strength. I have arthritis and am a bit weedy anyway. This is more like a toy than a chore - I whip the cordless out for the slightest bit of dirt on the carpet. It gets right into the edges an the 3 speeds will deal with anything you care to throw at it. I know I'm raving but it is such a gorgeous bit of kit. It whizzy-whizzes round in circles and although it's got a small dust container, it is SO easy to clean out. Plus, you can take all the bits out for a good wash and clean up. Takes ages to recharge but that doesn't matter - just pop it on charge when you finish using it.Really light, although most of the time, no lifting is involved, and a tiny footprint means it's easy to store. Looks great, too. It sucks up everything on the carpet or hard surfaces and, on the lowest setting for hard floors, is unbelievably quiet. The only drawbacks are: 1. Doesn't have a long extension to use on the ceiling corners. (You have to get a duster out, knock anything down and THEN vacuum it up.) And, 2. it is really quite stiff to change from the floor fitting to the hose. I'm hoping that, over time, the two press-in buttons will get less stiff. But I do really love it, regardless.

After checking out Cordless cleaners one stood out from the crowd the Bosch BCH6PET. Ordered from Amazon and delivered a day early here in Spain. Incredible power on all the three settings, the first setting sucks up everything in its path including edges without engaging the roller brush. Setting 2 is ideal for rugs and carpets and although we have a Cocker Spaniel I haven't had to use Setting 3 or use the special roller brush for pet hairs. Charging is extremely simple and unlike some reviewers had little difficulty converting the cleaner for sofa and curtains. The fittings for this are a little on the stiff side as you would expect from a brand new machine and will obviously become less stiff after time. The roller brush is released by a simple button on the side and any accumulated pet hairs removed by cutting along the Grove on the roller brush, it couldn't be more simple. With corded cleaners now being reduced in power due to a EU directive if you are looking for a replacement cleaner, make this cleaner near the top of your list as recommended by "Which". You won't regret it.

I took my time in deciding the right cordless cleaner to buy,I searched different makes on the Which website and also asked previous reviewers questions which they kindly answered. I am absolutely delighted with my purchase, it picks up everything, even my black dog's hairs off a light coloured carpet without any effort! My corded cleaner struggles with this and I usually end up on my hands and knees with a damp cloth to get the hairs off - no more now I have my Bosch, even my husband was impressed. Bought this for our new motorhome as there was grass etc., trodden into the carpets from week-ends away, my Bosch cordless soon made short work of this. I can't recommend this enough.easy to empty when full and once fully charged lasts long enough to clean my 2 bedroom bungalow with charge left, find settings 1 & 2 are plenty strong enough to pick up everything I ask it to, even the dust between the floorboards. Have only converted it to a hand held cleaner once and although the button was firm didn't have any real problems as mentioned by other reviewers,

I run a B&B and self-catering cottages business in France and needed a new vacuum for the house (2000 sq ft) and carpets, in particular, upstairs. It came with a spare filter and rotary brush. One charge will do all the tiled floors downstairs on setting 1. Pet hairs (1 dog and 2 cats) is now a thing of the past. Also all the carpets upstairs on setting 2 - brings back the pile - particularly with guests every day in the summer in 2 or 3 of our 4 bedrooms. Great for changeover days in the cottages.Accessory handle and hose still a bit stiff to fit. I use an old cylinder vacuum cleaner extending handle to reach all the cobwebs in very high ceiling rooms - magic. Easy to empty - better to do it little and often.Wash and dry the filter once or twice a week. The house has never been so dust free.Only downside - would like a small rotary brush for the difficult cat hairs on sofa cushions, that operates like the floor rotary brush but smaller. Perhaps Bosch will make one soon.

As a vacuum cleaner this is good. Excellent suction and handles well. Stores in a small space and is light to carry. The bagless dust store and filters are easy to clean and relatively low-faff.A few points to note are that when the suction is on TURBO the machine is far more difficult to push, manoeuvre. I am a 33 year old woman who is pretty robust so I am ok, however if I was 60+ or had weak arms/wrists I would proceed with caution. The fact that the cleaner is rechargable is great as you can whizz round the house or to any small mess without having to plug in. However, the charge does not last long...especially when using the boost function.I live in a small-medium sized two bedroom bungalow and I can only just get round it once on a charge. And that is not moving furniture and doing a deep clean. A few times it has run out of juice on me and I have had to revisit. Not the end of the world, but annoying...

In one word, excellent! Have been using a Miele "cat and dog" model for past few years but have not been over impressed with the build quality nor the cleaning effect so decided to take the plunge and buy the Bosch. The unit is easy to assemble, about 10 minutes out of the box and the cleaning power is a revelation. First used a day after the house was cleaned with the Miele it managed to pick up a substantial amount of dust etc. Off the carpets and was equally adept on our tiled kitchen floor. The unit is quite lightweight and very manoeuverable. My wife announces each time she uses it that she now enjoys vacuuming! As recorded in other reviews disassembling the unit into it's hand held components is not the easiest of tasks, but as a reviewer on here stated silicon grease on the interlocking parts rectifies this greatly.

After deliberating for weeks, I decided on the Bosch. I can honestly say it`s the best vacuum I`ve ever had. I can do all the rooms, plus the stairs (three bedroomed detached house) on the one charge. We have four dogs and it picks up all the hair perfectly. When it arrived I found that the spare filter was damaged. I `phoned Bosch`s helpline and two days later, my new filter arrived. I cannot fault this vacuum and would recommend it to anyone. I must admit I haven`t tried to `take it apart` to fit the attachments, but then I have found I don`t need to, I can easily vacuum the stairs without any attachments. It is also a much nicer looking machine than the Dyson, but that`s just my personal opinion.I`m really glad I bought this vacuum, and the house is now vacuumed every day!

This vacuum cleaner exceeded all my expectations. I wanted a light, easy to use model that I could carry around the house easily. One that had plenty of suction to remove pet hairs as I have a long haired cat (Birman). The tools aren't too difficult to connect and remove, it is just a knack and a bit of understanding how the clips work, not enormous amounts of strength. All in all this has been a good purchase and knowing what I do now I would make it again.I can now vacuum the bits that my cat trails from her litter tray all round the hallway on a daily basis, sometime more than once daily. The floors have never been so tidy.Recharging is easy and fairly quick. It can be stored just in a corner of my kitchen which makes it convenient for use.

Great machine(ordered 23/5/16 and arrived 26/5/16)-BUT -attempting to click buttons to remove handle and brush section is almost impossible on my own as the release buttons for each section are so tight and don't depress easily at all that I have be sure my husband is around when I need to alter machine to accommodate tools and indeed even to release foot section to make it easier to clean the brush.I have had (and still have) a good number of Bosch appliances so I am bitterly disappointed by this one which has so many excellent points (much better than the G-tech original) but defeats me when I need to alter the mode of operation.I am planning to contact Bosch directly with my concerns.I note other purchasers have found similar problem.

We originally where looking to buy a Dyson, but read some reviews on how good the Bosch was. After getting messed around we ended up with this model as we wanted a hoover that was lightweight and rechargeable.ConsIt doesn't sweep up to the edgesThe charger is good for around 30 minutesSmall capacity dust bagProsLightweightGreat suctionportableOverall this is much better than we expected, given its size it is picking up things we where missing with the old Vax hoover, especially pet hair, cleaning the stairs is a 10 minute job now not a 30 minutes on hands and knees. The teenagers are actually using it to tidy their rooms as well so must be a good thing.

I love it. I can pick up so much stuff. However, I can see a few improvements in the design:It could be a bit higher as it is not great for your back if you are tall. Also, as mentionne din some of the reviews, it is very difficult to remove the bottom part of the hoover (required to use the attachments). I had to do it with my feet on the hoover and pulling it upwards. This is silly, even my partner had issues removing it.Another thing, I found that the battery can only be removed by a Bosch engineer .... I wanted to get a spare battery so I can use the hoover for longer just by changing the battery, but this is not possible. Shame.
