MORPHY RICHARDS VECTOR PYRAMID 1.5L KETTLE, BLACKPart of a new range of kitchen work top appliances in a rather unusual design. Made from plastic, the outer skin is a 3D "diamond" design in shiny black. I think it will be something that you instantly like or not. I find it a most attractive design but I can see there will be those who prefer a plainer outer. At present in the range there is this 1.5 litre 3Kw kettle, a 4 slice toaster and a rather smart coffee maker.Like most cordless kettles today, it has a round base on which the kettle can sit in any 360 degree position so is equally usable left or right handed. The base has a shortish electrical cord with a UK 3 pin plug and enough flexibility to be positioned where ever you want it.Excess cable is held inside the base. With the outer skin made of plastic, the kettle is light and easy to handle. The 3D surface importantly does not show finger marks even though it is shiny black and is very easily cleaned with a wipe from a damp cloth.The kettle has a wide base at 8.5" compared to 4" at the top which will give you an idea of the shape. With such a wide base compared to the overall shape makes it safe and stable. The handle is large and comfortable in use and does not heat up as the kettle boils water. The top has a large ring for easy removal (with one finger) and is held firmly in place with a gripper ring inside. The spout is quite small but it's shape makes for accurate pouring and the kettle can be filled either via the spout or by removing the top.There is a handy gauge on the right which shows the maximum fill line (at 1.5 litres) and also a 4 cup line and a 2 cup line. Once filled and placed on the base, the switch is on the right side below the fill gauge and is conveniently illuminated. Inside there is a limescale filter which can be removed for cleaning or replaced as required. The manufactures say that the kettle should not be used without this filter as it will keep any loose limescale inside the kettle. Obviously there will be scaling issues depending on your water and as we all know this cannot be avoided. It's something to keep an eye on and when it needs attention, descaling packs can be purchased with a special solution and replacement filters for a nominal sum. Scaling will effect performance of the kettle.Performance is good with a quick boil even for the maximum 1.5 litres and shorter for smaller quantities.The kettle carries the normal 1 year warranty and is subject to "common sense" safety factors being applied plus the normal abuse exclusions.Overall, a well designed kettle, light and easy to use in a very unusual design which I believe will appeal to many.

This arrived today and I love it. I love the shape, similar to my last one which I had for years until the on switch broke yesterday. I like the styling of it, and don’t find it ‘too plasticky’ like some reviewers. It’s lightweight, boils quickly, is quiet compared to my old kettle and is easy to use and pour. I like the handle and don’t have any problems with steam burning my hand. No small electrical appliances last forever, but I feel this a good price and super speedy prime delivery. Thank you Amazon and Morphy Richards!

Was a little dubious about the old fashioned Kettle design, but it is very contemporary Look & goes very well with the matching Toaster, as the markings are all over this Kettle, instead of just halfway down it, like the taller Kettle has,Sum times old designs are the best, because it pours great & because it’s not as high as the other Kettle in the range, it does not steam up the glass further down my kitchen units, like my older taller Kettle did, so that was an extra bonus I never foresaw.Overall this is a great buy!!

The look and feel of the kettle is great and it has a good capacity. The only down point is the fact there's no light, so when you turn it on you don't actually know it's working until you start to hear some heating noises.

I have just received my new morphy Richards kettle and am very pleased. Its a beautiful designed looking kettle, it boils fast and am now enjoy my first cup of (Yorkshire) tea from it. ☺Julia Hardcastle

Wife loves the shape,the colour and the feel of it,she also likes ,that it is economic to use ,as a bonus you can see how many cups you can boil up .So it is a winner for us.Well worth purchasing.

Lovely looking kettle wipes over lovely to keep it looking new. Clear viewing window to fill up so you dont need to over fill measure by cup size. Boils quickly
