I bought this a few days ago having got fed up with my 8 month old swan kettle which looked so bad with the limescale build up around the top that I wanted something completely different. This kettle fitted the bill as it has a large top for filling the kettle, it is plastic around the filling apature and the pouring spout so hopefully the limescale problem will not arise. It also lights up blue which is nice,it is quiet and boills quite quickly. It is a nice looking kettle too, I also bought the toaster to match and if you register the product before 28 days the manufacturer gives you an extra year cover which is great .So far am very happy with this kettle.

I bought this kettle following an incident involving my son, milk and our old kettle - the three do not mix. To replace the previous kettle would have been four times the price which I did not want to risk if my son decided to make hot chocolate in the kettle again. I was concerned about ordering a relatively cheap kettle but needs must. We are all very impressed with it. It is far better than our previous expensive one. It boils quickly, it is quiet and looks good. Some comments mention it boiling over - this is only if the user fails to follow instructions and over fills it. The extended guarantee is also a bonus.

it shows water level, dont rust owing to plastic parts around spout, stil scales but not as bad as metal version, which was so poor quality and I so disappointed, why when they has such good regard? But this model did produce a almost toxic smell after initial rinse/wash and first boil then has seemed okay again after a another major rinse out, so be warned. Also has a larger poring spout. I suspect some materials or maker has intentially sabotaged this makers usuall good quality by subsituting for poor quality ingredients. Blessed be the maker or and user that speaks their mind. Amen.

i bought this kettle after returning a morphy richards that i had for less than 3 months when it packed up. i reserved it on line as it was the only one in stock and when i went to pick it up it had been reduced by 50% brilliant! the kettle is really quiet and boils really quickly. the only downside is the filling up, i live in a hard water area and have to use a filter jug and its a little tricky filling up through the top of the jug. i expect its a piece of cake filling via the tap. overall very pleased with the product and would recomend this kettle

Quieter than my more expensive Morphy kettle I had. The red is slightly more duller than the stainless steel one, but that's because of the material of the kettle so it's not their fault it's because it's plastic, and wouldn't have that 'shine' like the steel does. It's quick, great value and for me being s very picky person I really like it, regardless of it not matching my Morphy red bread bin and toaster to 100%, at least it's not green!I would also say my more expensive one did start deteriorating after 2 years(hence new purchase).

Quite a stylish kettle....black finish and metal base take away the fact its a plastic kettle:-) The blue light is a nice touch! Lid opening a little small....but I guess thats what keeps it sleek. Not boiled it full, so not sure if water drips out the spout as mentioned on another review, but it does rock a tiny, tiny bit when left to switch itself off.....Seems to settle though..My negative comments are not worth mentioning really as none of them are an issue to me...... Would not pay full price, but great at half price!

This is our 2nd kettle as the 1st kettle didn't sit in the base properly. It was unsteady and would wobble when boiling. I liked the look and feel of it so wanted to give it a second chance.Argos exchanged with no problem. So far i am happy. It doesn't wobble. It can be quite loud when boiling. It's nice and light and i think the spout seems a tiny bit bigger than others. The only thing i would've liked that i've had on a previous kettle is that it's lit up blue all the time and goes red when you boil - but that's just me!

Bought this kettle to go into my new flat, it matches the new work surface!Basically it matched my main criteria, cheap (half rrp at argos) looks good, powerful (3kw) meaning it boils water quicker than cheaper kettles. After delivery and a little bit of a play I'm pretty happy with it. It looks good, and feels like a quality item. Boils water quickly and not too loudly. And most importantly, when I press the lid release button, the lid opens more than enough to get the water in from the tap.Very happy with it

A reputable brand and I love the design and colour. It boils fairly quickly and I like the attractive blue function light; it's a very sturdy kettle with a strong thick handle. The only thing I would say is that it may prove too heavy for some people who have a weaker grip, as it's not what you would call lightweight, even without the water in it. Saying that it's ideal for the members of our household at present and I like it so much that I purchased another as a gift for a friend and she loves hers too.

This is a great kettle, very stylish in my kitchen. Was bought to replace my old kettle which is 10 years old and was looking a bit worse for wear however still worked so was a bit scared about replacing it. However this does the job it's supposed to do and apart from me pressing the button on the top instead the button on the bottom like my old kettle it works great. It's not that loud and it glows in the dark. Fabulous. Thanks once again Argos. ..... Now I need a 4 piece toaster to go with it !!!!

Although the quality of this kettle is not bad, the design of the handle makes it extremely hard to hold when the kettle is full as it is curved. Had the handle been slightly rectangulat it would have provided some resistance to the weight and it would not have slipped In your hand so much. In large jugs a thumbstop would be used to give this resistance. Unfortunately in place of a thumbstop the designers have the'feature' of the knob which opens the lid which is irritating when pouring liquid.

Good looking kettle boils quickly. Not too noisy. Handle design makes kettle feel slightly heavier than my previous kettle and pop up lid could do with a slightly stronger spring. Note that the kettle body is completely plastic. I have not noticed any problems with water taste as mentioned in some other branded kettle reviews. Blue illumination when boiling ( no colour change just blue). Water gauge easy to see. Chrome band on base looks nice. Cord length 60cm can be reduced to 27cm. Very good.

Had only 2 of these kettles in the last 7 years, both have been legendary, aside from drinking a lot of tea myself and also boiling up the kettle when many guests arrive, this kettle has really been put to the test given that no top of normal use it's also been the main utility in making countless baby bottles up and also for cooking with pre boiled water. I think average usage for the 2 I've owned has been around 30 to 36 months respectively. Don't waste time and money buying anything else.

I bought this kettle as a replacement for a kettle I had had for many years. (Also a Russel Hobbs) I chose Russel Hobbs as a brand I could trust and again, this kettle lives up to expectations. It boils in reasonable time and is as quiet as can be expected. The product quality is good.I chose Argos as my first port of call, as I was sure I would be able to obtain a product of good quality. I had a good shopping experience, with very pleasant staff and very fast service. Highly recommended.

I was after a device that would heat water to a temperature that would make a nice cup of tea. Someone suggested I use a kettle, wow - these things really work! I wanted a black one, and the one I got was black - so that was pretty cool too. When I put water in it and turned it on, the water started to boil. This thing really does it all. Its the best way of heating water I have found, I cant recommend using a kettle highly enough, and this one is brilliant.PS Can I have my £10 now please?
