I've had this kettle a couple of days now. It is used quite a bit. I changed my kettle as my old one was working OK, but the lid lifting button only worked when the kettle was warm! Since my husband has carers a lot of them were filling the kettle through the spout, which wasn't any good.Overall I am pleased with the kettle, it looks quite stylish! It boils quickly but is quite noisy when doing so. It is fun watching the bubbles as the kettle boils. It is useful having he ability to boil just one cup of water, very useful if there is only one person making tea. The other thing that would be useful is a slightly longer power cord, as mine has to go behind the toaster ideally and it isn't quite long enough. The water pours well, although filling is tricky as the lid doesn't come up to 90degrees.

I have always liked the look of the glass kettles. Brought this one as a replacement to my old "normal" Kettle. We live in a very hard water area. Things chalk up so quick but this kettle is a dream. Just wipe down with a clean cloth once a day. No chalk line and the only other thing we do is empty all the water EVERYTIME have used it. Easy to do and yes it does boil very quickly. No funny plastic taste you can get with some kettles thanks to the glass. Pretty blue light on base when boiling which looks smart in the kitchen, Easy to fill as has a very wide lid.

this kettle looks good. makes me feel a bit like a child when i boil it i feel like i have to stand there and watch it as it lights up and you can see all the water bubbling away inside. it is a bit noisy compared to my previous kettle. the only downside is that ive had it two weeks and it still has that new kettle smell which i think is tainting the water a bit. if it doesnt go i shall have to return it, dont know if that is just my kettle though. ill have to go back to a boring one no doubt.

I purchased a new kettle a couple of months before getting this one, the first one had to go back Due to a nasty plastic taste even after heavy use over 4 weeks (I did try all the tricks to get rid of the taste but nothing worked). I thought enough was enough and decided to bite the bullet and buy a new one. I went for this particular kettle because it was 1.7ltr and it was glass so I hoped it wouldn’t leave a nasty plastic taste and I was right. Boils fast, looks great and no nasty taste.

Pros:The glass design allows for accurate filling and no leaking. It also allows you see when you need to clean or descale the kettle for best performance. It boils quickly and fairly low noise.Looks good with the blue light.Cons:The power-on switch broke off within a week of use - possibly a design fault as its only held on by a small plastic attachment. The same kettle replacement is holding up so far.The spout is a little small and comes out the top if you pour too quickly.

I bought this kettle to replace its predecessor which I disliked extremely because of the nasty plastic smell & taste to the water boiled in it, the spout was wide resulting in overspill of water when pouring & finally the lid that was difficult to work eventually would not stay shut. This newer design has glass sides which don't taste the water, the pouring spout is narrower, the lid is very workable & it has a mark line for just 1 cup. I've had it a week & am delighted with it!

I bought this kettle as a replacement to a stainless steel one and decided to go for a transparent with lights to match my new kitchen design. Overall I’m very pleased with it. It is noisy when boiling water but not much more than my previous one. The only thing to watch out for is lime scale as it is much more visible and noticeable! But I take it as a good thing as I will have to discale it more often, while it’s still manageable and before it gets really bad.

It's a kettle. It boils water. It looks good. What else do you need to know!?- no needless features, but it does have simple lid-open and on switches.- 360° base: it's easy to pop the kettle onto it from any angle.- glass body so you can easily see how much water is in there. Boiling just the water you need saves time and energy (less money and less CO2). There is a good scale on the side to help judge the amount.I much prefer this to my previous kettle.

If you want a quiet kettle this is not it!Spent more than normal as there seem to be to many with taste issues. I make all sorts of Brown and Green tea. Three rinses first then no issue.Design and handling great. But the spout is quiet small so slower than expected pouring but safe is good. The surprise was that to completely empty turning fully upside down still leaves a bit due to rim between glass and plastic top.Would probably buy again though.

We bought this after our last kettle sadly flipped its lid for the last time.We were a bit reluctant to get a glass sided kettle after always having stainless steel but we thought we'd give it a go. It's a great kettle it isn't loud when boiling and it boils extremely fast the lid is more than big enough to get under the tap to fill it and of course the funky blue light is a great feature (yes you will want to boil it in the dark) and it pours well.

This kettle is good looking on the counter (shame our kitchen accent colour is green and the LEDs are blue- fun anyway but maybe a refinement for future designs!). Living in a hardwater area we're going to have to descale regularly as the smallest amount shows on the glass. The spout is relatively small so when pouring I find water comes out of the lid/seal as well as the spout even if you pour fairly slowly, hence only rating good/4 stars, not 5 stars.

The pictures of the product made it look very desirable and modern for the price which is why I bought it.The kettle boils quickly and doesn't make too much noise and does look great with the transparent plastic and the blue lighting. The only issue is if buying this for aesthetic reasons, the condensation from boiling the water does ruin the effect and make it look like slightly tacky once the kettle is off (the condensation remains).

I have been using this kettle for about two weeks and am impressed with the quality of this kettle. My previous kettle was NOT a Russell Hobbs and was a total health and safety nightmare, which says a lot about buying lesser known/cheaper models. My new Russell Hobbs is a joy to use makes very little noise, looks cheery when blue led lights shine out as the water boils (which is quite quickly) I am very happy to recommend this product.

This kettle does everything you need it to do. Boils water. The lights and full glass give it a novelty factor which lets you prove a watched "pot" really will boil, despite what you've heard. Only drawback is when its off you can see all the condensation through the glass. It bothered me at first but I got used to it. Leaving the lid open also prevents this if its really a problem. Looks stylish and doesn't take up too much room

This kettle replaced an almost identical model which the lid had broken. The glass feature easily allows you to see the water level and makes it simple to fill to whatever level you require. The spout is excellent and gives you a drip-free pour. The noise level isn't great but it isn't any noisier than most kettles. The only bad thing is that the power lead is not very long! The kettle needs to be within 2 feet of the socket.
