While raising a family I have gone through a few kettles. I have tried many makes and designs but never spending more that around £25. All of them eventually dribbled from the spout and all of them were noisy, and became worse as time went on. Recently I went on a search for a new kettle as the one I was using was driving us insane..It sounded like a threshing machine and we had to mop the worktop after pouring into a cup. My search still had the spending sum of around £25 to £30 in mind but I ended up very impressed with the reviews on this kettle and of course it looks gorgeous. I decided to dig a bit deeper and buy it. We have only been using it a few weeks but we are glad we bought it.Its worth every penny. I sleep in the room above the kitchen and my husband used to boil his very early morning water for his cuppa in a saucepan because the kettle was so noisy. Now he can use the new kettle and I don't hear it at all. This kettle is definitely worth paying the extra money for and on top of all that, its a real eye catcher. People comment on it. Mindyou, De'Longhi is a good make. I have had a mini oven of theirs for many years and its still going strong.

A while back I had to replace my toaster (bear with me). I ended up buying the De'Longhi Brillant Faceted one as the name is one I trust, it looked stylishly different and more importantly was a good price at the time thanks to Amazon. So when I recently had to replace my kettle I looked into matching the toaster. Well I'm delighted I found one at again a good price here on Amazon. It came well packaged and on time. It matches the toaster perfectly. It isn't the quietest kettle but then that doesn't bother me as I know it's on and working and it's only a short time to boil. I have in the past had a quieter one where the button stuck and it kept boiling creating a lot of steam,so a little noise is comforting to know when it's working and hearing it go off is even more so! It's not heavy. In fact quite the opposite. Perhaps that is in line with why only four and not five stars. I find (and it's the same for the toaster) that the design of the toaster in particular the faceted casing feels very plasticky. But that is all I would complain about. It looks stylish and sits well on my work top. Over all very pleased.

This was one of the presents I gave my girlfriend for christmas, a kettle.See ours leaked and she coveted this thing the day she saw it. It's twice the price of a long list of decent kettles but it is purdy, incidentally when the harsh winter sunbeams hit it in the kitchen it reacts not unlike a disco ball, which is nice, I think. It boils quickly, like well, a 3 kilowatt kettle does. It holds a goodly amount of water but it does have two things that are a vast improvement over the kettles I've had and used. The spout is controlled, even when you're getting the last out of it - this is something you'd never care about, unless you have a whole bunch of stuff to measure out every day, which my dear daughter provides so efficiently with her formula consumption. The other improvement being the nice way the switch clicks up, it makes the normal thunk seem kind of trampy. So it is just a kettle, but it's pretty and seems to be made well, it makes my girlfriend happy and while it was stupid at its original price, I can live with £45 for a good kettle.

Pros:+ Nice design.+ Round base and round socket on that base, kettle can be put on in any way.+ Inside the kettle there is a metal thing, which shows upper limit to fill.+ Also measuring markings on a translucent side on the kettle.+ Powerful, 3 KW, fast boiling.Inside there is a limescale filter, which prevents bits of limescale getting in your tea.+ Flat heating element, no curves.+ Good volume of water.+ I had identical model for 3 years and it is still working.Cons:-Difficult to clean from limescale because of filling hole is relatively small. If you do not have water softener at home, and you have hard water, or very hard water, you might not be happy.-After 3 years of use, plastic will loose its colour slightly, and washing will not resolve it.- Price might be a little bit on a high side. This kettle is pefect for home, but there a plenty models on the market, uglier, with a slower boiling time, for smaller volume of water et cetera.

I have been looking for a new kettle for months purely for cosmetic reasons and eventually bought this one after reading loads of reviews and mooching around lots of websites. It is lovely and I am really impressed by it. It isn't too noisy and produces very little steam when it boils which is an added bonus. It is easy to hold and not heavy, and it pours nicely too without spilling or splashing everywhere. It looks great on the bench and although I would have preferred the white version (but felt that I had to buy black as my tiles are white and I felt that white against white would not look good) I love the black version and am very pleased with my purchase. It's not the cheapest kettle but you get what you pay for.I opted for free delivery and it came 2 days earlier than estimated so that was good too!

I have wanted this kettle for ages, when it came it was wrapped in a little blanket (not quite but a soft wrapper) and I only touched it with this to move it so not to spoil the shine!!!'No one touch the kettle!!!' "Use the old one.... this is for show.. same goes for the toaster!!"Now I have calmed myself, I don't polish the thing hardly ever, I couldn't, I would go insane about people touching it and leaving prints. But, I don't see them, the pattern is really good at not showing too much, unlike my gloss kitchen, maybe that should have this pattern also. Better get the knife and hammer out and start banging some indentations into it!As for speed of boiling..... no problems,I don't notice any issues compared to my old one.It is a loud boiler. But at least I know when it has finished.

I was looking around for a kettle, and when i saw this one i fell in love with it, but i still looked around as it was a bit expensive, and i was waiting for it to go down in price, but it didn't and i could not find one that compared. i am glad i read all the reviews so to find out that it was plastic was not a shock. it really is a nice kettle, it looks attractive and what i like about it the most is that it pours like a tea pot. I like it so much that naturally i had to get the toaster too. it makes my kitchen look rich and expensive. but be warned do not fill it past the marker as it will boil over, it boils really quickly and it's quiet, and for the price i paid for it, i am hoping it lasts a life time,as De'Longhi is quality.

This kettle combines style with function and does so beautifully. It's a very fast boiling kettle and manages to boil water quickly without sounding like an aeroplane taking off in my kitchen. I've had numerous comments on how smart the kettle looks in my kitchen. When I first purchased the kettle I was nervous about whether the patterned black plastic body would appear cheap and tacky, but I could not be more wrong. It looks absolutely brilliant. It feels extremely sturdy and looks very good indeed. If you are looking for an extremely well made and stylish kettle that is energy efficient, I can absolutely recommend this product. It goes perfectly with the matching toaster - see photos!

Im unsure whether to rate this 3 or 4 stars. I purchased both the kettle and the toaster as I couldn't resist Amazon's bargain price after eyeing it up for over a year in other big department stores. When it arrived I was absolutely thrilled with the look of it! clean, shiny, not your average kettle and toaster combo and everyone who comes around comments on them HOWEVER, the quality is ridiculously cheap. There is not one bit of metal on the kettle or the toaster at all!! The switches are all made of incredibly thin and light plastic that are not nice to use at all (don't expect any satisfying clicks). Definitely a style over substance purchase as the build feels very flimsy.

Love my new Kettle. Looks fabulous in my new modern kitchen - really lovely quality effect with the diamond shapes round it and of course it works perfectly giving usual great service in 'functionality'. but I just can't stop looking at it as it's so cool in design! all they need do now is PLEASE make some tea coffee and sugar canisters in the same design as you obviously normally keep your canisters next to your kettle and I've been trying to find some that go well with it. well done De'Longhi - also great savings on Amazon - saved at least £10 by buying on Amazon compared with John Lewis or Selfridges. also it's gone down in price. I paid £5 cheaper again than my daughter!

This is a lovely looking kettle. It also boils very quickly and is a smooth pour. I got this after ordering with Next, realised it was £12 dearer on next and had a £3.99 delivery charge!! There was also hassle with delivery SO i looked at amazon, saw the great price, free delivery (i'm a prime member) and next day delivery.....NO BRAINER! Also ordered the toaster and it is due tomorrow. if it's as good as the kettle i will be very happy. Yes, the price is quite high for such products BUT as a treat they are worth it. I had the old kettle for about 15 YEARS! and it cost about £10! I figured a treat was due :} Got the white and it's like a work of art.

Good looking, modern with a hint of retro. Quality manufacture and finishing. Quick boil and the quietest kettle I have ever owned. Full 360 degree swivel base. The lid is a good fit and there is an indicator light on both sides of the kettle. The water level indicator is under the handle. The kettle pours slowly, so while this may be annoying, I haven't been splashed by boiling water, so a safety bonus! I was sceptiical, usually only buying at the low end of the market. A kettle only boils water and usually dies on me within 2 years. I had to be convinced this was worth paying for, all the reviews were 5* and no wonder. I am delighted with it.

KETTLEI love this De'Longhi kettle it looks very elegant on my bench next to the matching toaster.Easy wipe clean surfaceA little heavier than other kettles I have had.I have had mine for seven months and no problems up to now.I would recommendTOASTERVery large takes up a lot of spaceTakes 4 large slices of bread.Easy to wipe clean and has a pull out crumb trayDial for settings.Good quality. These are a little more expensive, but I have found De'Longhi products very reliable and of good quality.I would recommendSorry to put both kettle and toaster reviews together, for some reason it wouldn't let me put separate reviews.

i must admit i really ended up buying this kettle because of how it looked and not because of its features.i read many reviews about it on line and in Which? so i knew the down sides but it just goes so well in my kitchen i chose to ignore them.down sides are: the minimum boil amount is a cup but the minimum water level you can see is about 2 which isnt economical.it also pours very slowly which has taken a while to get used to. you literally have to tip the kettle upside down. it boils really quickly which is great but then you spend twice as long pouring a cuppa!overall i am happy with it! It's so prettty!!!!
