My review echos many of the other reviews on these boots. I wear a 12 and bought the 11.5 as I have done with 3 previous pairs of the X Ultras. These now seemed to run a hair smaller and narrower then the previous version. So keep in mind that you should try these on in a store first. Not really sure why Salomon is messing around with their already goofed up sizing but it is frustrating.Now - I like my pair and I like them a lot. I wear them everyday and work in the investigation field so they hit the demands of North country salt, snow, slush, and all the other crap I put them through. They are watertight to a inch of water/slush and my feet do not over heat. Best of all if need I can run in these boots...and run well.

I wear a 10.5 in all my shoes. Never needed a wide at all. I purchased the 10.5 black version. These seem well built but they are very very tight. I mean painfully tight. Plenty of room at the toe but extremely tight along the sides. Here is the rub, the 10.5 wide is $42 more than the 10.5 in black. Otherwise, I would have exchanged them for the wide version. There is no justification for the price differential especially when the 10.5 w in green was the same price as the 10.5......Go figure......Update 4-27-20 I had the 10.5 w in my cart and the price went down. So I said, what the heck, I am going to try the wide. The wide fits exactly like any other shoe’s regular.

Regarding TrekkInn delivery - great service, package was sent fast and arrived within 2 days! Shoes - I had a chance to use them for a 10km hike with a 20kg backpack (baby carrier + baby + things) across mostly flat terrain in the forrest. I had a great comparison since a week earlier I went on a similar trip in regular cross-fit shoes. The difference is incredible. The shoes are relatively lightweight (hesitated between these and Quest 4D 3 GTX) for hiking boots and protect the ankles well. Great support while walking on the trail, I was confident I will not fall down with my daughter. You can feel the cushion with every step while carrying a heavy load. At the end of the hike I didn't feel discomfort in my feet.

having ,just completed the kokoda track in png, wearing an inferior brand of boots that failed miserably on the second day of a 10 day trek [merrell], i purchased a pair of salomon x ultra 3 mid wide goretex on line from trekkinn. the moment i unpacked the shoes and slipped my foot into them my feet felt at home, since then i have worn the boots over very rough terrain, both wet and dry, over root riddled inclines and declines without an issue, no blisters or hot toes. i am off to kokoda again next year with my eldest son for his 30th birthday we both have purchased salomon x ultra 3 mid wide goretex the same as the trek leader!

Purchased this boot as a general hiking / backpacking boot. Without much experience with other brands, I love this boot. I ordered a regular width, as some boots are known to be wide (like Keen's), but these are not - they are true to width. After returning and getting a 12.5W, it fits perfectly.Didn't break boots in before going on a 6.2 mile hike (maybe that's breaking them in to some), and they were quite comfortable and surprisingly light. Will update if attitude changes, but these seem to be very well built and will last quite a while. Would highly recommend spending the extra $40 or so beyond it's competitor boots.

My girlfriend ordered these for me for an upcoming hiking vacation. I'm NOT a hiker... But she is. She hikes because she loves it... I hike because I love her.That being said, I would never have invested this kind of money into "hiking boots". Luckily, I didn't know she did. But, wow, these things have been awesome right out of the box. I've worn them pretty solid for about 2 months now and LOVE them! We even did a 12 mile hike to the second highest peak in San Diego county and my feet felt fine.The only thing... I changed out the insoles. The ones they came with were pretty wimpy. But, I'm used to that.

After years of hillwalking and scrambling in heavy leather boots I recently bought a pair of these, Oh my Goodness, what a difference, I feel as if I'm wearing carpet slippers. They are so light and comfortable. I've just come back from a trip to Snowdonia walking and scrambling in these boots and they were very good. The ground was very wet in places and the boots were submerged many times in water but never leaked. If I was doing long days over rocky terrain I might still wear my old leather boots as the soles are slightly stiffer but for most walking and scrambling I will now be wearing the Salomons

When I first tried them on I thought I might need to go down a half size because they rubbed my ankles when I walked but after using them for a bit they fit perfect. Just tie them tight and you'll be fine. Almost all my shoes are a 12 and I ordered a 12. Fit is great.They're very grippy and comfortable, quality construction- they feel built to last. I've read mixed things in the reviews about how waterproof they are. I had to backpack in the rain and mud to get to my spot for camp just last night, they worked fine, my feet were completely dry save for a little sweat.

I saw this pair of boots in a closing sale in a sportswear shop. They were advertised as a size 10 and I am a normal, wide foot 9 always have been, I at first dismissed them but when, in the absence of there being any other quality boots, I tried them on I found that they they were a perfect fit, which was presumably why they were the only pair of Salomon boots left for sale, people saw the size 10 and thought that they would be too big. They have been heavily used for months and are so comfortable. Highly recommended but do buy with care as the sizing is way off.

Truly a performance hiking boot. I used cheaper hiking boots before such as outland and bearpaw for less money but since becoming a more experienced hiker I decided to invest in a better quality shoe. These shoes provided excellent traction in mud and slippery rocks. Water does not penetrate unless your shoe floods and even wet they were comfortable to walk in. I have only taken them on one hike and to put them to the test I went off trail along a creek. These boots are everything they claim. Hopefully they last. I will do an update after several hikes.

Fit perfect out the box, I need wide fit as I have a bunion. These fit super well. I suggest you get 1/2 size larger than you need it you wear thick trekking socks. I saw some say a full size. my feet are 9 1/2 and 10S FIT 100%Quality is top notch on build quality, I have not tested these in wet yet, but these are 100% waterproof by reputation,I would say these are perfect for trekking days on end. I trek mainly in devon, the coast paths, so rocky, slippery rock, mud, standard dusty old paths. these handle all those conditions very well...

I had this same model a few years ago but with some aesthetic changes, although basically the same. Afterwards, I have tried many other prestigious brands with very satisfactory results. And now, I have bought them again. They offer very similar features to other models from other brands in the same scale of technical characteristics, but at a price in my opinion quite tight and appealing. I also consider that aesthetically they are very successful. Therefore I recommend them and value them very positively.

I buy Salomons every 6 months. Property Supervisor and literally walk 8 hours a day. Perfect size and never have feet issues. They take an absolute beating and stand up. Because if the amount of walking I do, a work boot is not an option. Whether it's plumbing, electrical, drywall or HVAC work..they do the job. Customer for life. I take a 91/2 in some shoes or 10. This takes a 10 for me. Once you find the perfect fit, then you can order any style for a good fit. Be patient and give this brand a try.

These are fantastic boots. Best I've ever had. So comfortable and quite lightweight. Great for hiking and walking. I hiked all over the European Alps and Japanese mountains for two years in my first pair before the soles were worn down. This is my second pair - and at such a great price. I am size UK 10 in a shoe but need UK 11.5 for a great fit in a Salomon boot. Salomon are known for their sizes to be on the small side. Highly recommended.

These shoes are of unmatched comfort, the foot is perfectly maintained especially downhill where the big toe does not abut against the wall, the sole is very soft. The seal is perfect even after 18km on wet ground my feet were still dry. The stone guard is very effective: finished to hurt the toes by shooting in a stone at the end of the hike. The hook is breathtaking on dry stone, only downside is on wet stones where the grip is mediocre.
