I've been searching for a decent pair of walking shoes for what seems like an eternity! Having tried various brands to no avail and cheaper options that perished far too quickly, I decided that, "you get what you pay for" and purchased a more expensive option. As soon as I took them out of the box, I could see the build quality was very good. Trying them on for the first time, they fitted almost perfectly and felt incredibly comfortable, as if alread worn in! So far, so good. I have been walking to and from work (a mile each way) for just over a week now and they are very comfortable. I cannot speak for the waterproofing as yet, or their longevity (having had other brands that began to perish after only a few months, this is something I will be very interested in observing). I will come back to this review and update it once I have greater experience of their build quality. The only negative I have noticed (and as another reviewer commented), the laces do tend to come loose. Maybe I need to learn to tie them in a reef knot instead! At the moment, top marks, but we'll see how they do after a greater period of time and use and I will update this review accordingly.Update 23 Jan 2021: Well, I've had these over a year now and they have held up well, looking barely worn since I removed them from the box. The undersole has also held up well (though slightly more worn on my right foot due to my walking style). They are just as comfortable and have also provided waterproofing during some heavy rain. Laces have to be double knotted to keep them tied, although even then, after a while become loose. It's a small gripe considering the quality of these shoes. So after a year in, I can still highly recommend these walkers. (Photos are from after a years use).

9.5 UK Fits perfectly with my wide size 9 UK feet. I used to buy 10 UK and tie them tightly but as I've grown up, my ego has receded a little. They look a little plain and straight-laced, as it were, but they might get overlooked if you fancy wearing something comfortable to work and don't feel like trapping your feet between the gentle bondage of leather upper and rubber sole. Speaking of which, the soles on these are very comfortable and make walking a few miles or just standing on your feet all day a breeze.I wouldn't go so far as to say the soles are bouncy like some well known comfort trainers that inevitably wear out after six months. No,these look like they will last the distance. They claim to be both breathable and waterproof which to my mind sounds like nonsense but I'm not a scientist... To that end, I can say that having worn them on a hot summer day and having the sun shine directly on them my feet got very warm and I had to move my foot into the shade. That said, my feet were not sweaty so perhaps that's something. It also indicates that perhaps I should steer away from puddles lest I push the boundaries of science and technology to its limits. So I can't say I've pushed these to the fullest (63km / 37 miles last week) but they have held up nicely, took no breaking in, averaging 9km a day, I didn't even think about taking it steady on day one and once I had the laces tightened correctly on my left shoe, I was foot loose and fancy free, as it were.

I wouldn't normally buy shoes over the internet but as we all know today's circumstances dictate somewhat. I like to try shoes on before I buy as I have moderately wide feet. However I needed new walking shoes so I had to buy some from somewhere. As usual Amazon are the easiest to buy from, being very careful to make sure anything I buy of any value is "free returns" as I've been caught by that before with expensive postage. The shoes: I am so impressed, I was very worried they wouldn't be comfortable until they had been worn in for a bit. We walk around 5 miles everyday with our dog and it's important to have comfy shoes. I needn't have worried at all, as soon as I put them on it was clear the shoes would be fine.I wore them around the house for a short while and an hour later went out for our walk which takes us on pavement, uneven woodland paths and some slippery muddy areas. I'm pleased these shoes coped with all terranes and were very grippy, even on some icy parts of the pavements. After almost an hours walking I realised these shoes were like shoes I'd been wearing for months, no pain, no rubbing of toes, heal or ankle.I can't say how their longevity will be as I've only had these a week but all is well so far but time will tell.I highly recommend these. I bought these in brown because the black one's were £10 dearer for some reason but when they are for walking the dog who cares?

This review is for the following item(s):Columbia Men's Woodburn II Waterproof Trail Running Shoe. The shoes in question were sold & delivered by Amazon.I am rating them as a 5 star product. These shoes fit perfectly, look great and have to be the comfiest hiking shoe I have ever owned.... I have had a few brands in my time such as adidas terrex, Reebok & Solomon gortex units as I live in Scotland, so a breathable waterproof shoe is a must for me.The break in time was zero & felt great from the minute I put them on.These units are the waterproof version of this model & boast the following two great technologies: omni-tech & techlite. The hiking trainers in question retail on the manufacturer UKwebsite for £90 so I got a fantastic bargain at the time of this review (09.05.2020).Its important that I have a good quality & comfy shoe with decent support due to a back injury. It is very doubtful moving forward that I will ever change from Columbia for my everyday waterproof hikers unless they change their very high standards.Well done Columbia & thank you Amazon for providing these trainers at a great price. Please note I am not an Amazon vine reviewer therefore the product(s) mentioned are purchased using my own hard earned cash.

Very comfortable and pretty lightweight shoes and of course waterproof (i did not try it in heavy rain yet, still just light rain). For my feet it does not feel tight in any part of shoes at all, it is comfortable wide for me. Shoe sole it quite low that is what i really like, i feel more stable without high shoe sole. I had Merrell Moab FST and i did not like it as shoe sole was high and heavier ,these Columbia shoes are way better. The only con is it gets warm inside so i think for summer or hot weather it would not be so comfortable but in autumn, winter and spring it is fine (UK) but note that i am kind of person who can handle colder temperature better than others so other people would not probable feel warmer with these shoes like me,except this little temperature thing i would give it 5 STARS. Design is pretty nice as well. That is initial experience, just 1 week old shoes. Great value for the price, i hope it last long as some people wrote in reviews !!!! My rating 4,5 STARS !!!!

I've been wearing a pair of Merrell MOAB 2's, which while comfortable aren't waterproof and not much use since December when the wet weather started. My criteria for 'winter' shoes were pretty simple, comfortable, well made and waterproof.I'm glad to say these hit the mark on all three points. I've worn them daily for the last 5 weeks or so, including through todays snow and have no complaints. They were comfortable straight out of the box, they've been completely waterproof and after 5+ weeks of about 5 miles a day they're still as good as new. There are no signs of wear or any manufacturing issues and every sign that they'll last for a long time.Design wise they're not that exciting, but being a relatively plain solid brown I've started wearing them outside of just my daily walk - throw on a pair of jeans and they'll be just fine (if a bit boring) in casual situations. If you're looking for a well priced, well made pair of comfortable, waterproof walking shoes you won't go far wrong.

Really comfy and good looking walking/trekking show which I wanted for mainly walk g the dog in the woods (and which I needed them to be waterproof - and the manufacturarer makes much if this being ‘guaranteed’ with this particular model/style: and so far they have been, but I’ve yet to really test this out). They are very comfortable and come in half sizes (which makes them a perfect fit for me as I fall between and 8 and 9 most of the time). One thing I will say (and which is my main recommendation) is that if you have decided to buy these shoes I strongly urge you to buy the brown/cinnamon version rather than the dark/black ones. I got the black ones initially and they are just so,so plain (and boring). The brown/cinnamon ones are far nicer/more attractive to look at (without being OTT). Unfortunately the better looking ones are (at time of writing ) about fifteen quid more - but I definitely do think it’s worth it.RECOMMENDED.

PROS: exceptionally comfortable and supportive from the first wear, no need to wear them in. I bought a UK size 11 and they fit like a glove despite having one foot that’s a UK 11 and the other which is a 10. Feet stay totally dry in long wet grass and in deep puddles, haven’t tried anything deeper. Excellent grip particularly on slippery mud but also over rocky ground. Bought principally for dog walking but they’ve replaced my expensive full boot walking shoes as they’re just as comfortable and supportive but much lighter. Laces don’t slip. Walked 6 miles per day over the last 6 weeks, often double that at weekends, on a mixture of bridle ways and footpaths and no discernible wear.CONS: none really, save that they’re fairly uninteresting to look at. Hardly a complaint though. They’re excellent value. If you found this review helpful, I’d be grateful if you clicked ‘Helpful’. Thank you

26 November 2020 deliveredWill write a review and follow it up after a few monthsSo far so good. Out of the box look well made and sturdy even if a little dad like in appearance to some maybe. But they look smarter than the average affair of walking attire. Leather seems a little thin but appears to be ok quality. On first view it looks synthetic.I’m wearing them around the house to break them in without socks and more comfortable than you would think. Slight pinching on my little toe. Will be wearing them for walking most days and will follow up in a few months to see how they fair. I will be using wax to keep them waterproof and to care for the leather as you should. Some poor reviews may account for the shoes not being looked after? I’m unsureCannot be anymore honest at the moment4 stars given as the leather seems thin (but light) and the leather doesn’t feel Premuim

I have wide feet coupled with arthritis in my toes, so finding a pair of waterproof lightweight comfortable winter walking shoes has been a nightmare! These were my FIFTH try but worth the wait, first time on comfortable and they fit without pushing my toes in or trapping the joints when I walk. I am normally a 11 and had tried several 12,s, all far too small and narrow these I went for a 13 thinking they maybe too big but no, without the gel insole a nice fit but with a new quality ortho gel inner sole, fantastic, snug excellent fit, warm and even more cushioned! The fact that these shoes are almost as light as a pair of trail running trainers I use in the summer, they allow the use of the heavier inner sole without compromise!Highly recommend but still be aware of the up sizing, as to wear, time will tell but I think they should do well.

Bought from other good reviews.Straight from the box, as soon as I put them on I knew they were comfy. Being a Postie, they were going to get well & truly tested from day 1. My round is 10 miles long, it was a cold, rainy & miserable day last week, so perfect to try them out.I walk on concrete, gravel, grass, on slippy concrete print drives, slippy sandstone slabs & thru puddles.I can honestly say, I would never of guessed these were brand spanking new, they were SO comfy, kept my feet warm & dry.I've been using these for a week now & i can honestly say, they are possibly the comfiest trainers I've ever owned, feet feel great after 60 miles in 6 days. I'm sure they'll last, they feel strong & sturdy at the same time.I'm a size 8.5 so I had size 9s as I have wide feet & these fit perfect.I'll re-review in 6 months

I don't normally write reviews just a few weeks after buying something, I usually prefer to let things settle in and see how they work long term, however I felt compelled to write something as these are such great shoes.I'd been a long-time fan of North Face hedgehog shoes, but as my last pair of hedgehogs were dying I spotted these on offer on Prime Day, so thought I'd take a chance on these. Fit and comfort are superior to the North Face shoes. They are also lightweight without feeling flimsy and so far offer surprisingly good grip. No issues with waterproofing either, but without the usual sweaty feet you can sometimes get with cheap waterproofing in shoes.Time will tell whether these last, but all signs so far is that they will - I'll be sure to update this review if that proves to be incorrect.

I have had these walking shoes before and was very pleased with them with one exception that the tread got worn down in about 18 months of regular use. I switched back to my old favourites of Berghaus and their shoes had the same problem. I therefore came back to Columbia as I found them a comfortable fit straight from the box. There seems little wear after 5 months of almost daily use.Sadly after 8 months of regular use and the first significant rain in lockdown I find that both shoes have started to leak. Walking through grass in the rain my socks got wet on the sole line on the outside of both shoes just behind the toe box. I have had this before in one shoe but put it down to a bad bit of quality control as it had not happened with previous purchases. This makes me think again about this product.

I bought these for a walking holiday and so far have been generally very impressed with them. They are very light on the feet, perhaps not offering quite as much ankle support as expected, but certainly very comfy to walk in.I'm usually a UK 9.5 so I ordered the size 10 as recommended. The fit is good on my left foot, but as my right foot is a little smaller it's less good on this one. Once laced up it's fine and doesn't slop around or anything, but there is a slightly annoying farting noise from the right shoe when I walk! But generally very pleased with their comfort, and would certainly buy again.**Update - Now 1 year on and these shoes are still going strong with no signs of deterioration other than the soles, which are wearing down a bit, but then I do wear them everyday. Great shoes.
