Ordered these for my girlfriend, this is her review:I ordered these shoes for work. My work is kind-of hard to describe. I will just say: I walk a lot...in rain, snow, sleet; I climb ladders, I can be walking around in standing water--any of this--I can be doing all of it for MANY hours.THESE SHOES ARE AWESOME. They're ugly, but they're awesome. To call them awesome, despite how very unattractive they are, one needs experience in the elements I've dealt with, I suppose...with the wrong shoes. So, they're chick shoes...right? When I received them, they had pink flowers in the soles and sparkly black laces. Beyond the size, that's the only indication I have that these are 'lady' shoes. They're ugly. There are no longer pink flowers in the soles, the sparkly laces remain, but their looks are not their purpose. These are work shoes.I can wear them all day without thinking about them...which is the mark of a good working shoe. I cannot recollect slipping in them; yes I do mean in rain, snow, sleet, dust, oil, grease, wet grass, all of thee above. Again I say; THEY ARE UGLY...and again, after working in them for so long, I have to ask: please sir, can I have some more? Other colors, other materials, other ankle heights...can you make me these in a steel or otherwise OSHA approved toe? I NEED ALL OF IT. Amazing shoe for the 'working WOman.'So now you're wondering...FIT:Length-I wear 9.5 typically. These fit perfect. -15F? Thick socks? Fine. 93F? Thinner socks...(or maybe not?)...Fine. Adjust the laces if necessary, folks.Heel-Feels good to me. I have what most would describe as a small/thin heel.Box-Again, feels good to me. I have what most would describe as a broad 'below-toe/box' measurement.Arch-Perfect for me. I have moderate-to-high arches and my feet really still feel great after days, and days, and DAYS in these awesome shoes.Bottom line-I always feel that adjusting the laces can give me a better/proper fit in these shoes should conditions or my preferences change.I'd say the absolutely worst thing about the shoes is their complete-and-utter-ugliness, coupled with stinkiness. I leave this to the end because I understand that personal foot 'stank' can vary. I don't have any other shoes that stink like these, *BUT* I also don't spend so much time working hard in other shoes.Have to work? Don't care about how *pretty* your shoes are? These shoes are AMAZING!

I initially tried these shoes on at a few local retailers, as I was on a short timeline. The stores didn't have the half-size I needed, though, so I turned to Amazon.I was looking for a shoe that could function for day hiking in moderate terrain (trail hiking, not bushwhacking or mountain climbing) but that was also stylish enough to be worn abroad and in my professional office. Essentially I wanted something I could wear anywhere in the world for any dry-ground activity I was likely to take part in without standing out as a typical running-shoe-clad American. My biggest concern going in was the other reviews that said it wasn't likely to be good for hiking, but I took my chances.I'm delighted that I did.Less than a week after receiving my shoes in the mail I went on a trip that ended up including city walking and a five mile hike on a rustic trail with 1500 feet of elevation gain. My feet never hurt once. I'm usually prone to blisters when hiking, but in these shoes none of my usual tender patches flared up - and I didn't find any new sore sports, either. I have a bad ankle (bimalleolar fracture in 2009 requiring four screws, which are still in place) that is often swollen, but these shoes accommodate it beautifully. Despite being laced shoes, I found them very fast to take off and put back on at TSA.And they weathered the hike marvelously. I was concerned that the rubber over the toes would scuff or nick on the rocky, dusty terrain, but they didn't - and I know I smacked them into edges several times. The leather uppers cleaned off easily with a damp paper towel when we got home. The soles themselves proved more than a match for moderate slopes varying from bare rocks to loose sand. I would switch into something else if I was looking to cross muddy terrain, I think, but for your average day hike these are great.

I have suffered with metatarsalgia for some time. Beware this may be a lengthy review due to my history...I had ball of foot pain (metatarsalgia) throughout my nursing career and finally saw a podiatrist during my pregnancy. I was diagnosed with Morton's Neuroma in both feet and ended up with custom orthotics and a cortisone injection. I had some improvement but still dealt with pain. Fast forward to now and I'm dealing with metatarsalgia after 3 surgeries: two to remove each Morton's Neuroma and then one in between due to a stump Neuroma. Surgeries were indicated due to the fact that custom orthotics, different shoes, and 7 sclerosing injections in each foot had done nothing to alleviate the pain.Nevermind working a full-time job and two young children. I should also mention I am a Registered Nurse and worked on concrete floors for more than 12 years (night shift) and that along with my excessively arched feet were other factors. It's difficult to find shoes to fit custom orthotics and I also need shoes that do not flex in the sole. Danskos are somewhat comfortable but do not offer enough arch support. Did I mention my arches are excessively high? These shoes fit my custom orthotics, have a rigid sole and a wide toe box which provides continuous comfort for my poor feet. I am comfortable and the blue-gray color blends well with my wardrobe. I am tempted to purchase a backup pair to have as it is hard for me to find shoes that meet all my needs. Well done Keen!

I have a bad neuroma between my middle and fourth toe, and I need a lot of stability, support and cushioning. Also, my foot shape is rather narrow in the heel, yet flat and wide at the toe, so I tend to swell and get sore in the toe box.Not with my Keen Presidio shoes! They are literally the most comfortable, supportive shoes that I own, they are somewhat cute, and based on what I've heard, Keen shoes last forever.I am a teacher and if my feet get hot and start to swell, I can loosen the laces. The laces are waxed and hold tight so that they kind of stay where you have them if you want to tighten or loosen them little by little they kind of stay where they are so you can get the front of thelaces to stay put and pull tight the back grommets without warping the laces. This is a full grain treated leather, so you can polish them and make them look new. I can imagine these looking new after 20 years, just softer. The soles cover a bit around the bottom of the shoe so they're really hard to scratch and bang into objects like rocks and door jambs. The insole is nice and contoured to accommodate a lift in your arch and has plenty of cushioning under the ball and heel that you feel protected. My neuroma is bad and I still plan to put a metatarsal pad (wool 1/4" adhesive) where my doc told me to. My kindergarten aide and I both have Keens and we feel on top of the world on our feet for 6 hrs a day chasing littles. I am SO GLAD I found these shoes.

I have to stand all day for my job and I love these shoes, they are so comfortable and supportive and the roomy toe box is fantastic! My podiatrist actually recommends Keens for this reason, it really makes a difference for the overall health of your feet to not have your toes be cramped and smushed together and having better circulation in your feet prevents pain and even infection. My orthotics fit in the shoe without any problem as well. On top of all that they don't make your feet look too huge or wide because of the stitching details on the tops of the shoes. The only thing to be aware of is that it may take you more than one try to get the right size.I read other reviews that made it sound like these shoes run small and I have a pair of Keen hiking shoes that are 1/2 size larger than my usual size as well so I ordered half a size larger than my usual size in shoes (I got an 11 instead of a 10.5). When I wore the shoes around the house I had a problem with my heel slipping, even though they didn't seem to be too big otherwise. I was bummed because I liked the shoes and thought the next size down would be too small but since Amazon has free shipping and returns I decided to just give the 10.5's a try anyway. I am so glad I did, the new size doesn't really feel much smaller but the heel doesn't slip at all and I have been wearing them to work almost every day since!

The fit is excellent, for me. I have ingrown toenail problems and the toe box is wide enough so that I don't have any pressure on my toes any more. I can stand eight hours a day with no problems, the shoes are great and supportive. I have been wearing the shoes daily since November last year, so it's about three months. They are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in years. I LOVE THESE SHOES. Still I have to take off a star, because of the following problem:Sometimes the shoes turn my toes black. This has happened about a dozen times. I do not generally have sweaty feet. But now and then, my feet get a little warm, since I'm standing all day at work. I came home one day, took off my socks and shoes, and the tip of my right sock was black, and to my dismay my actual right big toe and second toe were black too. Something (dye, I suppose), is coming out of the shoe leather and into the sock, then through the sock to my toes. When this happens I have to scrub the black off with soap and water. It doesn't come off easily, either. There is always some left, that takes some time to wear away. This dye can't be good for the skin, should not be happening, and I'm not sure what I can do to fix this. I don't want to mess around with applying fixatives or sealants to the inside of my shoes. I hope Keen will offer some solution. Thanks for reading.

I bought this pair of shoes in desperation a week before leaving for a 10-day trip to Israel. I had purchased a pair of Keen Presidio shoes at a shoe store months before in my regular size, 8-1/2. I've owned and worn out about 5 pair of these shoes, and have always been able to step into the new shoes and walk for miles with no break-in period, with a perfect fit and great comfort. But the shoes I originally bought for the trip, though they fit fine in the store, did not continue to be comfortable after I wore them for a few hours. I have a bunion on one foot, and even with the wide toe box typical of these shoes, they were too tight and became super uncomfortable after a couple hours.I hoped they would loosen up and get better over time, but they never did. After reading the reviews written by several other purchasers, I decided to try ordering the shoes on Amazon a half-size larger. Voila! Comfort and a good fit as in former days--no break-in, and off to Israel, where we walked an average of about 6 miles a day over varying terrain and cobbled streets. Coupled with Merino wool socks, my feet were supported and comfy all day every day, rain or shine. I'm still wearing them almost every day since returning. Love these shoes!

I am almost always a 6.5, but of course some brands vary in their sizing. These shoes fit perfectly. It took a couple of days to break them in. During that time, they weren't super comfortable--not terrible, but nothing special. I was a little worried that they wouldn't be as great as the reviews made them out to be, but after wearing them a few times, I am a changed woman. I work in a restaurant and I am constantly on my feet. I also have fibromyalgia and tiny ankles. This combination of factors generally leaves my feet hurting so bad that I sometimes have a slight limp by the end of the night. (Yes, I am seeing a doctor.) These shoes have honestly made a significant improvement in how my feet feel after a ten hour shift.I would say that the pain is reduced by about 60%. No shoe on earth is going to make my feet feel like those of a child, so I'd say 60% is a pretty remarkable improvement.I do want to point out that even though I did not buy a "wide" size, these shoes *are* slightly on the wide size. For me, this is okay, but if you have particularly thin feet, you may want to keep this in mind.

Great shoes - absolutely fantastic. I already have the exact same pair in brown that I've been wearing for a year. I have very high arches and plantar fasciitis, so I have to wear orthotics in my shoes. These shoes accommodate orthotics easily because the inside liners aren't glued down and they slip right underneath. The soles are wide and the shoes work EXTREMELY WELL for people who run over (supinate) the outsides of their shoes. And they don't wear down over time - my brown pair has held up to daily wearing for a year and they still don't tend toward running over the outside. Very stable and sturdy shoes - and the most comfortable I've ever owned. I'm glad to have a black pair now - I hope they keep making this style! They're comfortable right out of the box and don't need a breaking in period. There's plenty of room in the footbed for your toes, so if you have trouble with corns, these shoes will help you tremendously. They're a great walking shoe and I find that I hardly wear my tennis shoes at all anymore. I wear them to work every day and run around in them all weekend long. They're perfect.

I have to give these shoes 5 stars....I have TERRIBLE feet, bad knees and hips. I ordered up one size, usually wore a 10 but after researching "bunions" was recommended to up the size one whole number on any shoes. There is also a neat way to "lace" up shoes so that the bunion isn't stressed more. One can check on line to see how that is done, really works!! Right out of the box these shoes were terrific. Put them on and wore them all day yesterday. Keen has become my go to shoe...I have had knee replacement on one knee and will have it on the other one soon. Consequently I have what is known as an "altered gate" . ie I walk funny!!! Today I have thicker socks on to see how they perform..good support,no areas rub. I ordered them in generic black, but will honestly have to get them in a brown color too. I HIGHLY recommend anyone that has "awful" feet to give these shoes a try for everyday....I'm retired, we hunt and fish and hike...needed to find another wonderful Keen to satisfy these needs. I also have their hiking boots, I use them for hunting.....they too are awesome!!! Thanks Keen....

I think I accidentally purchased the wide version of this shoe. But I’m still buying another pair this fall to replace these. Maybe I will get it directly from the Keen website. This is a damn good commuter shoe. I’ve been wearing these shoes to work for 9 months. I have a 90 minute commute one way and take the bus, the subway, and walking in all kinds of weather. This is a professional looking shoe that supports a serious dash for the bus in a hurry. I’m not kidding, you could run at least four miles in this shoe easily because the sole is so supportive and thick without being heavy and bulky. Your big toe doesn’t get wet in the rain from puddles or a car splashing water up.This was my first pair of Keen shoes and they are worth the money. I’m converted...even though my shoe was a little too wide. Be ware of models with a “W” in the name. The same month I brought Keen I purchased a pair of Naturalizer shoes that got holes in the soles after 20 days of commuting. I paid almost the same price as I paid for my Keens. And I had to toss the Naturalizer's by the end of October.

So far, completely in love with these shoes. I bought them after a weekend of walking that left my feet in horrible pain. Since I have some events coming that will keep me on the move, I needed better shoes and took a gamble on these.I think they are slightly too big (I went a half size up from my normal shoe size, as suggested by some), but I feel they might be too small if I went down, so I'm good with the size as is. I was also surprised how wide the front of the show is - I can spread all my toes out, which is nice.Just wearing them was fine, but then I had a spontaneous test the other day when I missed a bus and had to walk the last three miles to work and WOW what a change from the weekend! My feet sort of felt a little sore when I walked into the building, but not the unable-to-move way they were just a few days previously. Seriously, was so amazed.Since then, they've been great - I enjoy going for long walks again, knowing I'll still be able to stand afterwards, and I am definitely taking a pair with me on my upcoming vacation abroad. So glad I found these.

Once I got the size nailed down, this shoe is just great. Great fit, build, support, and superior comfort. If you want to order this shoe and have not had the opportunity to try on start with your normal size. I normally wear an 8.5-9, wide if available. In Keen sandals I wear a 9. Most reviewers did well with their normal size. Due to the duck shaped feet I walk around on I had to go down to a size 8 in this shoe to get the proper length. This is more likely due to my odd feet and maybe my true size if I could get true wide widths. Wide forefoot with toes that do not have a great difference in length, thinner heel, high instep, medium arch.Amazon's superb return policy allows me to shop shoes on line and some of the most comfortable shoes are only available to me here. I wear these everyday. The more I wear them the better they feel. Have worn them in the rain and to my surprise the light gray did not stain or discolor, nor did I get wet feet. I love, love, love, them and have ordered another color in this style.

I work 8-10 hours a day, standing on a concrete floor. Even though I have a pretty good mat to stand on at my work table, my feet always ache when I get home. For the past few years, I've worn Nike, Reebok, and Brooks athletic shoes to work, because I couldn't take the pain. They were better than other type shoes, but my son has been wearing Keen shoes for a couple of years, and loves everything about them. I bought a pair of Keen water sandals this summer, and they were great. Since it's a little late to wear sandals now, I thought I'd try a pair of enclosed shoes. I read reviews and decided on the Presidio casual shoe. I worn them for 2 days now, and my feet feel better than they've felt in years.A lot of shoes have good arch support, but that's it. My pain was in the ball of my feet, and most shoes don't seem to have that support. These do. They have support for the entire foot, and run pretty true to size. I'll probably never own another brand after wearing these. Thanks Keen for taking care of my feet!!

I LOVE these shoes! I'm 69, overweight, and have flat feet with extreme overpronation, which gives me major problems with my feet and ankles. These shoes have such good arch support that I can easily two miles in them without my orthotics, much more comfortably than my good sneakers WITH orthotics. I work a couple of days a week in a program that requires a lot of going up and down stairs, and these remain comfortable throughout an 8-hour shift. I normally wear wide shoes, but these came only in the medium width, and fit fine (which might be a concern if your feet are particularly narrow. I personally don't think they're particularly attractive, which wasn't a concern for me (I just needed them to be black),but have gotten compliments on how "cute" they are with the unusual stitching across the top. Can see that I'll be wearing them constantly, and am thinking of buying a back-up pair. (This is the second pair of Keen shoes I've bought, and the first pair also made me very happy.)
