These are great sandals and they are very comfortable. The reason I said "no" to the question "do they have good arch support" is because they have some support, but not a lot. In fairness, I have extremely high arches and wear orthotics in my regular shoes. Since these are sandals, my orthotics don't work in them, so these shoes don't have enough arch support for me. I'm sure they're perfect for many other people. I can and do wear them all day at work because I sit at a desk. If I had to stand in them all day, they wouldn't have enough support. They're lightweight but firm and the straps are quite comfortable. There aren't any weird places that pinch, poke, or rub. They have the classic Keen elastic bungee type closure that's super easy to adjust. There's plenty of room for your toes, but these shoes aren't as wide as other Keens I own. Also, inside the footbed has slight little bumps all over it - texture that provides traction for your foot within the shoe. A friend has the exact same pair and she finds this a bit uncomfortable, but I like it, so you can judge for yourself. The bumps provide traction and although I've never gotten them wet, I can imagine this would be useful for that. The ribbon on the sandals has reflective properties, so that could be useful in being seen at night. Overall, they're just a great sandal. Cute, cool, and comfortable, I even wear them with skirts to work. They're also good quality and feel like they'll last a long time - and guaranteed I'll throw them in the washer at some point. Well done, Keen. I wish you'd make sandals where people could choose a high arch support model. I'd have 20 pairs of those.

I loved the feel of this sandal, the lining is soft and I don't get the impression it would cause any blistering if laced appropriately, but the sizing was off for me. I wear a women's 9 in athletic shoes, including my Keen boots. Because Keens tend to run wide, which I prefer, I have a little extra space in the toe area in my boots, which is great for wearing wool socks and accommodating the inevitable swelling during long hikes. What I didn't consider when ordering these sandals is that the same extra space in boots would be a hindrance in sandals. I had at least a half inch of space between my toes and the end of the sandal bed, and because on this model the toe-cap only covers the big-toe region,my pinky toe was actually sticking out of one of the holes. I tested them briefly in our gravel driveway, and immediately got rocks in them, something that probably wouldn't occur of they fit correctly.I ended up ordering an 8.5 in the Newport Hydro model simply because it's what I could afford (Ordered the whisper on prime day, so nothing is the same price as my original order. *Internally sobs*) And the 8.5 is definitely a better size in sandals. Although I don't love the overall design of the Newport (Compare lacing) For the kind of activities I will be using them, I do prefer the toe-cap encasing the entire end of the shoe. I can only hope they will be as comfortable as the Whisper once they are broken in.

I bought these shoes to wear on my vacation of hiking and kayaking, and wearing to the pool and water parks this summer. A year ago I suffered a very severe ankle injury and had to have multiple surgeries and lots of physical therapy over the past year. Thankfully, I can walk unassisted now and wanted to have an active summer that made up for last year's summer that was spent in a wheel chair. However, since my injury, my foot is extremely sensitive to the shoes that I wear and I must wear good, supportive shoes that fit securely. No more flip flops for me. These were great for wearing to water parks with my daughter this summer since I was able to walk around the park in them and keep up with her,and also swim in them. I liked them on our vacation for kayaking in the river and the little bit of hiking I was able to do. For the most part, they served their purpose and did exactly what I needed them to do. The only trouble I had with them, was getting stuck in the mud in the river once and trying to come up with my shoe still on my foot, since they did fit a little bit on me. Also, I can't wear them all day, because they are a hard sole, and my ankle will swell and my foot gets a little soar if I wear them too much. I was very glad to have a good shoe that allowed me to enjoy many water activities and my summer this year.

I normally wear an 8.5 Wide. I previously purchased the Keen Venice H2 in an 8.5 based on the majority saying it fit as expected (a friend had a pair of 10's & they seemed quite wide in the foot bed). The Venice H2 was far too tight in the width & somewhat tight in the toe length. Returned those & ordered the Keen Whisper in a 9. The length BARERLY fits my heel (actually appears to be outside the shoe bed looking from above) & in an enclosed shoe would NOT fit. I released the bungee to loosen the heel strap & the width. However, the bungees do very little in releasing the Width since there is a fixed under strap that is not impacted by the bungee - it gives only what was built into it. So,I would say personally the fit is too short (shorter, in fact than the Venice H2 in the 8.5 size) in length & again too tight in width. If you have a truly wide foot I do not think Keen is the right brand for you (or me).NOTE: There seems to be more complaints about the sizing of shoes made in Thailand vs those made in China...of the shoes I received, the LONGER in the heel area & better fitting overall Venice H2 were made in China; these Keen Whisper's were made in Thailand - despite the 'official' description!

This was a first time purchase of this sandal. I'll have to admit when I first saw them was in my doctor's office. My first thought "Those ugly, opened everywhere...what do they call them a sandal, opened sneakers, clog, WHAT?" I asked the lady, as both she & her daughter where wearing them (daughter wore green). They told me you can hike, ride a bike, some can walk in water, as they dry quick. They went on to tell me they message your legs & back (no strain) on these areas. Comfortable was the most used word from both as the rest of the waiting room where now looking with snarled noses & giggles. I then said I had never heard of "Keen". To which I was told "they have been out sometime now.I then asked "are they true to size?" Was told it depends on the style. The "Whisper" might need to go up 1/2 size. All the fore mention is true. I Love, Love, Love my Keen Whisper sandals. The curiosity from myself & others won me over & I have already had questions asked of me about what they called an ugly.... & family I have allowed to try on. I plan to buy more because they're a very good sandal. I would & have recommended them to friends & family. Your foot is worth the price!!!

It took my husband years to get me to try sandals. I have bad feet and thought I needed the cushioning of a sneaker. After some trial and error, I found these two shoes and I'm in love. The Newport H2 is bigger and lets your feet move around a bit. They are perfect for me at work, where I stand for ten hours a day. They are surprisingly soft inside, without giving up support. The Whisper looks daintier, but it's been perfect for hiking. We hike off-trail, with lots of rocks, roots, elevation changes and water. The Whispers hug your feet so perfectly that you never slide around in them. And despite looking fragile, they give excellent comfort and support.I've worn my two pairs through literally a hundred miles of hiking in the past year, and they are showing zero signs of wear. Both the Newport H2 and the Whisper have fit me true (I'm a 7.5 and all four pairs I own fit perfectly.). The toe guards have been a life saver on many occasions. After all this time I still can't believe that I can go sock-free in the summer. No more hot feet for me. Thank you Keen!

Bought these for work when the weather is warm. I needed something waterproof, something that would give my feet some fresh air, and something that would not only hold up to the cleaning chores, but be comfortable. By cheap 20 shoes of any sort wasn't holding up. They would fall apart in a matter of weeks or would get ruined and smelly because of the water/ cleaning solutions. We joke at work "this is where shoes come to die"... But when a coworker suggested these I was down to give it a go.They're great! I wore them throughout the warmer seasons last year and they held up wonderfully; So nice not having to wear socks and closed shoes while being outside!I didn't think I would wear them outside of work but they're really comfortable. I found myself putting them on for hikes and well just for every day use during the summer...I just pulled them back out since the weather is warming up again and they still look great.

As a child I read the story of a father who gave his son "wind sandals". In turn, the father bought for him "fire shoes". With this suggestive gift, Dad Fire Shoes and son Wind Sandals set out on the adventure of walking the world. When I bought my first Keen (some Clearwater) last June I found my Wind Sandals. I have used them on my annual 300 km walking trip last year from the Ebro Delta to Lleida. And I kept wearing and wearing them until November, when the cold forced me to change them for less airy shoes. When taking them out now in spring I have seen that I have eaten half a sole in kilometers traveled. For now I have changed the model; Whisper for my new hiking tour because this year is Pyrenean and I need a little more sole.Happy with the sandals, although they were delayed a little in delivery, preparing my Grand Tour from Tárrega to Farrera de Pallars, from 8 to 30 August. www.elgrandtour.net

I was surprised by the feel of the shoes. The print that you stand on, takes a few days of wearing before for the bottom of your feet to get used to it. I normally wear a 9 1/2 or 10, so I bought a size 10. I'm glad that I did. My foot goes all the way to the very back of the shoe where there is a little lip. It is a bit awkward to walk on that lip at first. Other then those miner details, I like the shoes. So light, easy on/off and great for walks. Just last weekend we went on a 4 1/2 mile hike. Because of their great gripping ability, they held up well through steep inclines, tall grassy fields and on a regular path through the woods. I did not have any blisters. And the sandals stayed perfectly dry.My only suggestion would be to wear socks if you plan of going off the path as you could get little sticks through the openings. Oh, and I bought the black/grey. I love the color.

I have problems with my feet... Morton's Neuroma and some arthritis as well. This is the second pair of Keen Whisper sandals I have purchased. I've tried all kinds of shoes in an effort to find something that works for me, but NOTHING wears as well as these shoes. I have used them on many trips, walking all day long. They hold up and make it possible for me to enjoy myself without my feet hurting. I've tried other shoes that have a memory foam footbed and they feel great at first, but after a few weeks, the foam compresses and no longer feels as good as it once did. The Keen Whisper sandals provide just the right amount of support for me. I know each person's foot is different, but for me,this is as good as it gets. I recommended them to my friend who has plantar fascitis and she is equally happy with hers. She wears them every day. I definitely recommend these shoes.

I wear a 9.5/10 womens, usually 10 (due to high arches) and so I first purchased a size 10 - far too large. Started return process, and ordered 9.5's - and they are about perfect. I needed water sandals as I have a water dog and the neoprene ones I had were making wrinkle toes which after a couple hours actually can be a bit painful.Surprisingly, my arches feel supported. I can wear these all day comfortably and they have good grip on sand/trees/docks, in the water and just regular walking on pavement and grass. Super easy to slip on (and off).. at least when dry.Things I'm not fond of, they can be a bit difficult to put on when wet - and sand/rocks get into them easily, but do not wash out easily without removing them.I'm still giving 5 stars as the support and traction that I did not expect far surpass having to take them off to get rocks out.

I can be a terrible shoe shopper who will dither over decisions and find all kinds of fussy reasons to dislike perfectly acceptable shoes, so I was pleasantly surprised by this pair of sandals which I urgently needed for a holiday. Once I adjusted the stretchy laces to a comfortable fit, they were fine. The slightly enclosed toe meant that once sand or small pebbles got in, it couldn't easily be shaken out, but this was not an insurmountable problem. I found them somewhat slippery on wet rocks, paving and other surfaces - interestingly, the sole is quite different to the men's version - but the shoes themselves dried out quickly. The footbed is comfortable and I was able to immediately wear these sandals for extended periods of time without chafing. The anti-odour treatment is incompatible with my foot ecology though.

Shoes are very light in weight, airy and generally comfortable. So far, have worn on a 3 mile sidewalk and street walk withno problems. As a walk around doing errands shoe, it is very comfortable all day. The straps flap around while walking, but itis not a problem at all as long as you tuck them back into the straps, which can be done comfortably and securely. My onlypreference is that the shoe insole were a bit softer, but then possibly the shoes would not perform as well in wet situations, I don't know.In very high temperatures, worn without socks they are comfortable and cooling. With a sock, perhaps a bit more comfortable but notas cooling. None of the straps are constricting or uncomfortable as can be on other shoes.Adjusting the straps to fit is easy and works well.I am an 8M with a neutral arch.

So glad that I finally splurged and got this pair of Keen's! a few years ago I broke my toe and the Dr. misdiagnosed it and it never properly healed. Now I have a sometimes painful spur and very unsightly spur on my big toe and I have had to buy shoes in a larger size to accommodate and protect it. I also need proper support in my shoes. While the soles are flexible, the shoe feels more supportive than other active sandal that I have tried so far. Not a big fan of shoelaces and buckles and I am looking forward to being able to just pop these shoes on for bike riding, dog walks and other fun this summer. Fit was perfect - I ordered 1/2 a size down from my winter shoes since I wear thick socks and I have a narrow foot and these fit just fine.I hope that they last a long time!

I usually have UK 8 but these sandals came up slightly larger l probably could have taken a 7.5 saying that they are extremely comfortable l have been wearing them continuously for a week now walking with the dog on rough ground and haven't had any problems at all. Lovely colour green and really well made smart enough to wear when l go shopping, since receiving these l haven't worn anything else really cool in this hot weather we are having in France at the moment. Delivery was excellent l received them in 3 days. I would definitely recommend these Keen Whisper sandals especially if you go out walking they give good support to your feet and even after a few hours your feet feel really comfortable.I haven't experienced any discomfort at all.
