I am now converted to wearing sandals around the house all year and outdoors as much as the weather allows. After trying some inexpensive velcro-fastening Slazenger and Dunlop varieties that lasted me around six months each I decided to look for longer-lived options. My Amazon research suggested that these were the only ones to consider for long-lived outdoor use as they are wholly without velcro. Styles by Clarks and Hi-Tec had velcro at the back of the shoe. Mine were delivered for free within three days of ordering. The slightly crumpled sheets in the otherwise perfect packaging suggested that they had been sent back by somebody else but this did not bother me as the shoes are in perfect condition and seem very well made. The toe area is well protected by an extension of the sole.Mine are labelled made in Cambodia on the inside. There are yellow labels on the outside including the name Keen but the Newport or other style name is not on them. There is a waterproof tag and an exclamation warning triangle. on the front right of the sole. They match the photos on Amazon. The sole does not say vibram but says Keen and non-marking on it.On putting them on they were immediately comfortable to wear and a perfect fit. Its a good start and I look forward to wearing them outdoors in the summer of 2019.For indoors I have at the same time purchased from Amazon the Vocni Men's Open Toe Casual Leather Comfort Sandals, Brown, UK 9 costing £17.99 and these are also very good so far.

You really can't imagine what I've been through over the past few years. To sum it up, though - let's just say hiking has always been my escape. In 2012, I finally had the courage to put one foot in front of the other and get out of a terribly abusive situation. I spent my last few hundred dollars on the plane ticket that would fly me away to a safer life. Sadly, when I arrived at the airport, my baggage was 23 lbs over the limit, which would require an additional checked baggage fee that I just did not have. So, I had to unload some of my belongings, even my most precious Keens. I will never forget the moment those shoes went into the airport trash can. Ultimately, in that moment,I looked ahead and saw the miles I had already gone to be there, and the distance still to go. Safety was within my reach after all those years and miles - and I couldn't turn back. My Keen shoes have always been the most comfortable pair I have ever worn. Nothing else compares. I have shopped around for decent prices, and could never bring myself to part with $100 plus for a new pair in the midst of rebuilding a good, stable life. I swore I'd never be beaten and financially strapped again. In my new life, I tend to look for good deals that fit comfortably within my budget. I found a GREAT deal on Amazon and finally have my Keens back. They've been on for 10 minutes, and it feels like my feet are home. A celebratory hike is in order!

I bought these sandals three years ago. I have a UK size 10, wide feet and bought the men's Keen Newport H2 sandals. As I walk long distances, 100 miles plus for charity, walking boots got too hot and I had blisters, these sandals were a trial alternative. The sandals have had almost constant wear over at least ten months of the year since I bought them, in all weathers. When training on all terrain, hills, trails, urban footpaths, they have saved my toes from bangs and bruises, feet from overheating and blisters. I wear with socks and bare foot, all day, carrying a backpack and afterwards, they go in the washing machine wash to freshen them up.The only downside, thousands of miles service is starting to show but only slightly. I walked several London marathons, blister free, in them and they have slight wear on the heel. A perfect excuse to get a best pair, so will now buy newer snazzy bright red ones. The bottom line, they are built to last, they are wide, comfortable, toes are protected and cool on warm days on the trail. Keen now has more colour choice, you won't regret it. I should get commission for this, I praise them all the time. ;-)

I'm a Keen fan, with that outed, I'm also have a few pairs of various other Keen shoes as well as these sandals. These Newport's on their 5th year of service. They are extremely durable and very comfortable.Things I like:The toe protector. I don't really like open toe sandals as apart from having my toes out for all to see, the protector does exactly that - protects from knocks and bangs. It also stops dirt and water etc getting onto your toes. If you're walking through wet grass for example the toe cap will keep the water off.Walking through the woods with brambles and nettles etc - no problemThey're respectable enough to wear on almost all occasions too.Vents well in the heatDislikes?Occasionally small stones can get in underneath from the open back, and if you're walking on the beach in sand, they will fill up so you have to take them off, but then again so you should walk bear foot on the beach :)My new puppy had a go at them last year so they are looking worn, when they give up I'll buy another pair no hesitation

I have several varieties of keen shoes and love them, but they do tend to be hit and miss on size .I range between an 8 ½ and 9 .. But based on a variety of sites I decided to go with the 9 ½ on these.I might have been ok in the 9 on these, but the toe wiggle room is nice. The 9 ½ also makes it easier to slip on, since the opening is closed.. Then cinching with the cord makes them fit secure .. Great for the variety of inclines and awkward terrain in Colorado Springs...I was looking for a cooler but comfortable hiking shoe that would also protect, these definitely fit that hunt. They fit secure, give good support,.. They are lighter than I expected, but do not feel flimsy.I took these out on a quick walk the first day I received them, and love them.. So many other other sandals and shoes I have ( teva and merrells) are not supportive or secure enough so my foot slides in them when I go up steeper areas, or rocky terrain.. The Venice seems to love those challenges.Going to enjoy taking them on more walks.

Bought to replace a previous pair that were, literally, falling apart on my feet after years of sterling service. Noted some subtle changes when first tried on so assume the previous pair were the original version rather than the Arroyo II. The tongue is less broad at the top and as a result the area of overlap reduced when the closure cord is drawn tight. I was concerned this might result in rubbing in this area, however, after a week of use, that included emersion in salt water and then a walk of 2km, that concern seems unfounded. The grip provided by the sole on this version seems comparable to the previous pair and the solid toe cap just as robust.Length of the last seems very slightly longer than the older version and hence the fit slightly larger than expected. Overall, entirely happy with this replacement pair, the only reason I provided 4 stars rather than 5 is that I ordered green and the pair that arrived are brown. I, personally, am not bothered by that but appreciate that it might irk others.

These sandals have ruined me - they are so comfortable, I can never wear any other sandals again! I bought my first pair of Keen Venice sandals about three years ago for a trip to Costa Rica, and even though I have a closet full of shoes to choose from, have worn them almost every day since. My neighbor's dog recently decided they make a great chew toy, so here I am shopping to replace them! I am buying the exact same make, model and color as my original pair. The footbed on Keen sandals is wonderfully molded and cushioned; they fit the foot with ease. These sandals stand up to a lot of abuse, too - I trekked through Africa and South America in them,as well as did years of grocery shopping and other errand-running in them right around my own neighborhood! It now occurs to me these sandals never really showed their age, either, no matter how much I used and abused them.I would highly recommend Keen sandals to my family and friends. Hope this review helps you out!

My new dog ate my old Keen sandals I had had for several years. I loved those sandals for their comfort. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find an adequate replacement as shoe manufacturers often "update" to inferior models. Not so with these Keens. These are every bit as comfortable as my old ones.I like the Arroyo in particular for wearing just about everywhere at home. They are adequate for walks and short hikes but I wear them at home for their overall comfort. That comfort comes from the good arch support and wide toe box Keen is known for. But the open design lets them breathe while still giving the support of a shoe, making it the perfect shoe for around the home, for me anyway.I wear sizes 11.5-12 shoes. The 11.5 fits perfectly, plenty of room. I would half size down if you are between sizes. When I get home from hiking, sports, or whatever, I always take my other shoes off and slip these on. My feet always thank me.

These are the most amazing sandals! I am a little overweight and needed something to hike in that could cushion my joints. These didn't even take a break in period! I put them on the first time with socks, thinking that I would need to prevent blisters. NOPE! Didn't need them. The insides are lined with the softest fabric and cushioned. The soles are supportive but cushioned. They are wide enough for my feet but adjustable for socks/without socks days. I'm wearing them everyday instead of just for hiking and they are so comfortable that I'm actually walking further when I take the dog for walks! These shoes are good for me! If you are trying to decided between these and the Teva Dozers (which I used to be just crazy about),these are your shoes. Teva redesigned the Dozers and they are HARD soled now. The first "editions" were just great but they took out the softness. I know, I have both. But I'm wearing these Keens now.

Put so many miles in my Keen PCT's hiking boots, I could only buy Keen when it came time for trail sandals. I was worried when I bought online. After reading many of the reviews which stated the sizes run small. I wear a 12.5 so it was either the 12 or the 13. I took the risk and bought the 12 fearing the 13 would be to much room and it would be a problem on the trails. This was not the case. the size 12 was a little big in fact which gives me plenty of room for socks under sandal if needed on trail. I have not taken these sandals off since they arrived. Keen is flat out the best shoes I have ever worn. tried all the competitors and they just do not stand up to Keens comfort and durability. These are the only shoes I would ever recommend to a long distance hiker or a person who works on their feet for ten hours a day.

This is my 2nd pair of Keens Arroyo. I purchased the first pair as I needed something comfortable to wear whilst working as a volunteer at an orphanage in Kenya for educatethekids.com.I wore them until there was no tread left on the sole, I am talking about wearing them almost every day for the best part of 18 months, digging a 30 feet deep bore hole in the village, traipsing through the bush, on the beach & in the sea.The great thing about the keen shoes and sandals is that they are very good for people with wide feet, unlike some other well known expensive items starting with M, I found that I was having to try on size 10 - 11 for my size 9 feet before I could even squeeze my foot in.Not much else to say really, reasonable price, very comfortable, good grip and lasts very well in harsh conditions.

These are great sandals. I wear Keen Voyageurs (with mid weight wool socks) in 8.5 most of the year, so I went with 8.5 for these also. My true shoe size is 7-7.5 wide. I first tried a pair of Keen Newports in boys size 6. They are ok, but tight across the top of my foot (they leave marks) and I find the footbed a little too rough. These are a bit looser (although I wish they were looser still) and I find the footbed to be smoother and much more comfortable. I am diabetic and overweight (also have hammertoes). My feet are fat and very sensitive. Other than being a little tight across the top, I have noticed that they come up a little high on my outer ankle bones. That might be better with a smaller size, but then they'd be too tight in the foot! I am very happy to have found sandals that work for me.

I've been a fan of Keen for quite some time. My last pair have carried me over hundreds of miles of hiking trails, many canoe and kayaking trips, lots of time on the beach and all around town. After 4 years of hard use they are still going strong, but were starting to get smelly. I bought the Arroyo II to replace my old Keens, and I have to say they have improved the design quite a bit. These wear just like a light hiking shoe, but have excellent ventilation. There was no adjustment period, they fit just right and were comfortable right off the bat. I hope to get 4 more years out of my new pair, and will come back to Keen again when I wear these out.

I have had a pair of Keen hiking sandals for a long time and i finally realized that, after about 10 years, the tread had almost worn away. I went looking for a new pair (great for hiking and long walks, but best for airport with easy on/off, no metals, and good comfort). Found these at a discounted price. They are more green than brow, which is fine by me. They fit somewhat snugger than my old keens, but that may be due to their newness and is also fine by me as my old ones had gotten kind of sloppy. Comes in a medium width, but Keens generally run somewhat wide, which I need. Very conformable, with good arch support and grip.

I'll start by saying I like these shoes. I bought them to wear on side hikes while floating through the Grand Canyon and I think they will work for this. I am concerned about the plastic button that cinches the laces up. It loosens up pretty easily and then my foot starts to slide around. The time I wore them, it was pretty much all day, and I started developing a blister which is pretty uncommon for me. Maybe they just need to be broken in. Also, I usually wear around a size 9 so I ordered a 9 and had to return it for an 8.5. I probably could have even ordered an 8 so you might consider ordering a half size smaller.
