I live on the coast in Florida--lots of sandal weather. I'm just starting on my third pair of Ecco Yucatans. The two previous pairs gave much longer service than I had a right to expect, which took the sting out of the price. These sandals look nice enough that I don't shy away from wearing them with a pair of slacks and a guayabera to church or other summertime "dress-up" functions. At the same time, my experience with the earlier Eccos was that they are quite tough and I have logged a lot of trail miles in them with my sons' Scout Troop. I wear them to the beach and on the boat, and they handle water immersion just fine--although I make sure they get a good freshwater-rinse after dunking in saltwater. The only insult that seemed to stick was a time that I spilled a bit of gasoline on one sandal--the neoprene footbed would not give up the gas smell despite washing with dishsoap, and a small area began to disintegrate soon thereafter. Nonetheless, they continued to serve for many more months. But while the good looks and longevity are nice, the fact is that I have arrived at that point in life where I don't care about the appearance of my footwear nearly as much as I do about comfort. After 50, I refused to wear any tipe of shoe that I couldn't walk or stand in for an entire day. These sandals give my feet an excellent combination of support and cushioning. Of course, feet are highly idiosyncratic and your mileage may vary....Bottom line, in my experience, the Ecco Yucatans are robust, evidence high quality materials and construction, are very supportive and comfortable, and are handsome enough for any event that doesn't require a necktie. I hope your own experience will be as good or better.

Seldom do sandals support your foot where needed but these do for my foot arch whilst also offering a superbly comfortable foot bed and near perfect smooth liner with soft/hidden stitching. At first I thought I felt a tad of abrasion on the top of my right toe but after slackening the tension off on the toe strap it was quite blissful to find, at last, after 2 years searching, a sandal that is a worthy replacement for my hardy Teva's that are no longer made. Velcro straps on heel, instep and toe box gets the tension perfect and they are a doddle to put on / take off. Grip as far as I can tell is as good as other top names, really good quality rubber that I'm pretty sure will give excellent grip and certainly you can't feel anything hard under foot like a hard ledge (practiced walking over conservatory upvc patio door surround in house!), quality leather too and stitching, straps end with an easy to grip rubber puller, so should be easy to pull even when wet. As a keen hill walker for many years I know quality when I see it and I am so proud to now take ownership of these Ecco's.I can't source Ecco or other brand items from where I live, fortunately Prime Wardrobe gave me this opportunity to order 2-6 items, this is a great service and allowed me access to items I could not have otherwise had the opportunity to try/buy. Brilliant idea Amazon, brilliant service too (delivered a day early) thank you so much.

Every year for the past 4, I have purchased a new pair of ECCO Men's Yucatan Sandals. Same size, same color. I proceed to wear said pair for 12 months, then open the new box.I wear them all day long in the summer. . . including while watering my lawn and garden . . . which I seem constitutionally unable to do without getting my feet wet. I just slip off the sandals and leave them on the deck for 10 minutes and they are completely dry and wearable again. In the winter (by which time the straps have stretched a little) I wear them with (gasp!) socks indoors. I only put on regular shoes for wearing outside in the cold months and for exercise at the gym.I am at that time of life when shoes start to constrict and even cause my feet to swell. Sandals solve that problem easily and cheaply (sorry podiatrists and varicose vein practitioners).I buy a men's size 8, although I am a 73 year old woman about 5'7" tall with normal size feet for a woman of that height (size 8 1/2 to 9). I find the men's sandals are a bit wider in the toe area -- which I like. I also think they are a bit sturdier than the sandals made for women.I read some of the previous reviews that state the quality of the sandals has deteriorated over the years -- but I see no difference. I plan to purchase another new pair next year and continue the cycle.

Even as a big fan of Ecco shoes I was expecting a little more after the incredible reviews of this sandle. They are comfortable and light, but I wouldn't call it the most comfortable footwear I've ever worn. Quality appears to be very good as I would expect from Ecco. My biggest disappointment is the fact that the width doesn't adjust to my foot. I wear a size 11 in every shoe I've bought for the past 15 years. I've also owned two Ecco Track shoes (44) and they fit perfect and are probably the best footwear I've ever owned. I origionally bought a size 45 and had to return it as it was too big. These Sandals have very little width adjustment, wider or narrower. One reviewer said the toe had no adjustment which is not quite correct, there is some but not much. There is an adjustable outer velcro strap, but it is sown to a non adjustable inner strap. In my case the shoe is too wide for my foot so when I pull the strap tight enough to fit my foot it puts a uncomfortable fold in the inner strap. Someone with a wider foot said the inner strap didn't expand enough to fit their foot. I didn't think I had a narrow foot, but it is probably on the narrow opposed to the wide side. I'm going to keep these because they fit "good enough" but it's not what I had hoped for after reading these reviews.

I bought my first pair of these sandals several years ago, and have been wearing a pair every day for the last two years (moved to Tenerife....). They are absolutely outstanding. When I discovered how much I loved them and tried to buy a second pair online in the U.S., I was surprised to discover how difficult it was to find them. I found it hard to believe that people didn't like them, but when I spoke to a dealer I learned that the problem was that they were the only sandal recommended by an American podiatrist organization (don't remember the title), and so at that time they just couldn't make enough to satisfy the demand. Don't know if that is still true, but these sandals are incredibly comfortable and,I now know, very, very durable. And also, in my eyes, very attractive. I should add, though, that the pair I recently bought from Amazon in the UK were not the ones shown in the picture. The picture showed sandals with some gold trim, but the ones I received were pure black and not as attractive. But still absolutely worth the money.

So for years, I've been pretty solidly stuck in the 'flip flops' camp - because everything else has been just a bit too uncomfortable, and fragile enough that I figure I'm better off focusing on more disposable models. These Ecos, on the other hand, are comfy - and have staying power. They're sufficiently well-fitted to stick to your feet while you're doing active things - you can get them wet, you can sprint, you can climb, and while better suited shoes exist for any particular task, these sandals are probably the best *general* solution I've found to outdoorwear that lets your toes breath without falling off your feet. The only magic that they're not able to work, in my experience, is the 'smelly feet'issue - after a full day of sweaty wear, close contact with the soles is going to bring on some odors, in a way that flip flops or breathable socks with shoes might not be so susceptible to.But for my money (and these *are* a bit on the spendy side) these are the best strappy sandals I've worn for outside activities.

I purchased this as a mostly identical replacement for an model I originally bought at REI several years ago. I’m usually an 8 wide. I have a hard time fitting shoes since my feet are like trapezoids. These have the best position and comfort for my lil toe that usually conflicts with most manufacturers stitching and build. The 8 to 8 1/2 (Size 42) I had ordered is slightly too long but could work. The 7 1/2 (size 41) fits great and the straps fit my feet best. .. I wear these at the beach, river rafting, anytime really.. they work with nice casual attire even to church. If I’m just walking, I don’t usually don’t strap the back heel but just Velcro it to itself.I tried a few variety of the Chaco’s,but the width and arch didn’t fit my goofy foot. I actually paid more here online at amazon than I did at REI on sale a few years back. These also have great tread. The soles of my old ones are actually warn pretty good, but still usable. Actually my big toe worn thru the top fabric, which motivates this purchase.

That's what feet my say when they step into a shoe (or, in this case, a sandal) that is absolutely perfect! For years I had been looking for sandals that had one-piece padding underneath all of the contact points (straps) with my foot. For whatever reason, almost all manufacturers of sandals (even top brands like Teva) have gone to split padding for these contact points which I found to be very uncomfortable. I had worn ECCO dress shoes before and was familiar with the overall quality of the brand so I decided to take a chance on these sandals. Very glad that I did. In addition to the comfortable straps, the foot bed is super-comfortable and after a little bit of wear conforms perfectly to the sole of your foot. One day last weekend I wore them for 6 hours straight and didn't realize I had them on. In my world, that's a big deal and a very great thing! One of the best purchases I've made through Amazon.

My Raebok sandals were coming apart at the seams so it was time to replace them. After some online research I ended up here reading glowing review after review and decided to join the herd. I normally wear a size 11 but sometimes a 10.5 fits OK but it depends on the shoe. I took the advice of other reviewers and went with a 10.5 (44 EU) and they fit great. They were very comfy right out of the box and stayed that way even after a month of frequent usage. Sometimes you don't notice bad footwear until you get a few miles in them but that was not the case for these ECCOs. I liked them so much I bought another pair in a different color for when these eventually wear out and need replacing.I did buy the 2nd pair from a local retailer since they were $20 cheaper than Amazon which is weird. Go brick and mortar!ECCO sandals are a bit pricey but your feet will thank you...;)

Let me start by saying I was hesitant to buy these for my Husband as he has a wide foot and they do not come in wide. Also, they are expensive. That being said, he never can find a pair of shoes or sandals that are comfortable for walking and a lot of his friends have the Ecco golf shoes or sneakers and rave over them.. After reading the reviews and someof them stating they too have wide feet and they fit great, I decided to take a chance and order them..He got them and tried them on and they fit perfectly! He wears a 9 1/2 , so I purchased the 9-9 1/2 and they were fine. He said they are super comfortable and seems happy with them. Although they are pricey, I am happy he can walk without complaining and no achy feet or legs!I would definitely recommend this sandal.

Unfortunately I was not able to take them on a trip I had planned as I had to cancel my trip to Myanmar. However, I wore them around the city I live for about 2 months, every day, they held up well. Did not test them in water yet, so not sure how that will go.Overall I am happy with them, just a shame there are no small holes for water drainage and they are not waterproof anyway according to the description though many people have used them in water and they seem to hold up.Sizing is good, fit is good. No issues there. Comfort, takes a little bit to get used to them as they have a bit of a different feel to earlier products from Ecco, but overall I like them and would buy another pair if I needed, but I wish they would go back to some earlier designs.

I just got these sandals yesterday so my review has limited use so far. Much more comfortable than the 2 pairs of Birkenstock I tried. They were very hard on my feet, these are wonderful. The only problem is with my feet. I have a rather large bunion on my right big toe which has a pressure point. I think I finally found the correct strap adjustments to minimize this pressure. They did not create a blister before I corrected the straps so that is a plus. The sandals seem to support my feet nicely. They have a soft bed to cushion my feet, but had a very nice sole that has great traction and should wear well. Time will tell. Living in Florida I will use them often. They are nice looking and should fit in well during all activities I partake of.

I purchased these sandals based on the reviews on Amazon. I liked that they came in a wide variety of colors, I chose the grey "tarmac" color which looks amazing even better then the photograph. They were very supportive and comfortable. I wore them brand-new onto a cruise. No foot issues whatsoever. No rubbing anywhere. The part where you place your foot is a soft foam. The straps are easily adjustable and have a neoprene type liner so its comfortable up against the skin. The underside has a good tread that kept me feeling secure in wet areas on the ship, on land on concrete and on sandy beaches. They are more expensive then say Hush Puppies but worth the added cost. Would definitely recommend. One of the best purchases I've made on Amazon.

i wear size 14 sandals, making my choice of sandals somewhat limited to begin with. having said that, i must add that i have been a devout believer in ecco yucatan sandals for many years, as witnessed by the long row of well-worn yucatans lining the shelf in my garage. i have worn them (and practically worn them out) in every sort of terrain and can honestly say that they have never let me down. as i write, i have 3 or 4 new pair in my closet, waiting to carry me along to my next adventure. i walk between 5 and 10 kms/.day and estimate that a pair of yucatan sandals will endure the tread of 185lbs on mainly hard and sometimes rough surfaces for approx. 750 kms. to make a long story short, ecco sandals are, in my experience, unbeatable.

I've had a hard time finding a pair of sandals that I could wear all day on vacations. I've spent good money on Keen's, and Rieker's, and Clarks and they all gave me sore spots on the bottom of my feet after extended wear. Finally I tried the Ecco's, and for the first time I have gone pain free with a pair of sandals. They give plenty of support with a firm base, and are comfortable to wear as well. The one thing I would say is make sure you buy these based on your European shoe size. I'm normally a size 8 here in America, and according to Amazon's sizing guide for the shoe it would put me at a 42.However based on prior experience with European sizing I have found 41 works best which is what I ordered and the sizing was perfect.
