I bought a pair of Keen Venice II H2 and Keen Women's Newport hydro sandals. I have included photos of both for comparison. I like that I can order them both in a 10 1/2 because 10s are usually too small and 11s are usually too big. There's a lot of companies that don't make shoes in size 10 1/2 so this makes me happy and I believe they're true to size. I like the Venice color because it was neutral, looked natural, and it didn't make my feet look bigger because it wasnt a bright color. Keen Venice sandals were lighter and less rugged than the Newport but both are very supportive. I liked it the Keen Venice also have velcro strap in the back so it can allow me a little bit size adjustments and they're easier to get on and off especially when they're wet.I'm probably going to do a lot of walking in the lake so I will get pebbles in them and so I like the fact that the toe covering is all the way across as opposed to the Keen whisper sandals for that reason. I imagine that Keen Venice sandals will be my favorite go-to sandals because they're lighter in weight and easier to take on and off but where I hike can be rugged so I may use the Hydros more for hiking because they'll stand up to the Ozarkian terrain better.. It's still not summer so I may come back and check in with updates but so far so good.Update! I have been wearing these two pair of shoes all summer and I have to admit I like the grey Keen Women's Newport H2 Water shoes because they give me more support and they're easier to put on. I haven't used them in water much and get an occasional small stone in them but still, they rock the rocks!! I couldn't be more pleased! They hold up well and give me good traction and support when I walk up and down the hilly road. We also have a hilly pea-gravel driveway and they help me get that little edge to help me climb. I wear the straw-colored ones when I want to look a little more dressy. They go with a lot of my clothes, are cute, and are less clunky looking. The footbed support isn't as good as the grey though but not bad. I tend to keep these cleaner so wear them with casual dresses, capris, etc.Update December 2020. These have been good solid sandals. One thing though I wore them on a kayak trip in the newportsand they would get stones in them when we pulled up on shore and walked around. They're really hard to put back on when wet and avoiding more stones, so sitting in kayak. Next time I go on a kayak trip I'll use Beach shoes instead so the stones won't get in them.

About the sizing:If you need these to perform well when wet, I'd say go with your usual size in Keens because these tend to loosen a bit when wet. I ordered my usual size - 8.5 - along with a pair of 9's. Both pairs fit okay, but I decided to keep the 8.5's. Once they saw some water, I was glad I went with the smaller ones. (They do tighten back up when they dry.) Amazon's free returns policy worked flawlessly for the 9's, so it was pretty easy to try them out this way.For flat feet...I find that the arch height is about right - not too high. One of my flat arches does tend to hang over the edge of this sandal, though.I really thought this was going to blister - and maybe it would if I put a few miles on these in a day - but somehow the sandal quickly became more comfortable that way with use, and it hasn't been a problem. However, after my purchase, I saw another Keen sandal that had an arch which looked more built-up just on the side, and that might have suited my flat feet better. I think it was the Newport H2, but I'm not sure.Performance:I wore these for several days on a kayak trip where I had to carry heavily-loaded kayaks over rocky beaches, and the hiking-style soles worked well for this. (I made the same trip before in flip-flops; these sandals were so much better!) As I previously mentioned, the straps loosened a bit when wet, so I did slide around just a little on the soles. I was pleased with them, but my regular hiking shoes were still more stable for dry uses. Also, out of the 2 pairs I originally purchased, one of the sandals had a small knot of thread right at the heel where you least want it. This was just another little glitch that I thought would cause blistering but didn't. Still, I include it for your consideration.Overall:After some initial doubts, I am pleased with these. I would buy them again - after comparing the arches with the Newport H2.

Took these out for a spin in the following areas: kayaked Lake Powell, hiked into Antelope canyon off the lake, hike The Arches (double-arch & delicate Arch - Moab, UT), Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park (Angel's landing). We covered 1100 miles and several 6 hour hikes over 7 days. For comparison to others I am about 110lbs, 5'3", and wear a size 5.5-6.5 depending on the shoe. I chose the green pair in a size 6.Here are the pros and cons:ProsFit as expected (even with bunion on my right big toe that gets sore from rubbing)Did not impact the bunion and was able to hike upwards of 7000 ftHigh arches - my arches are very high and did not hut by the end of the dayBreathable - we went from 110degrees down to the 30sEasily washableGood traction for vertical climbing & flat surfaces (cement)Price - great for this type of shoe compared to othersConsLots of sand where we hiked and it was annoying to get sand between the toes and under the footFeet get dirty due to exposureStrap across ankle - this is something you have to work with as it can become annoying if not fitted properlyBulky to packOverall, these shoes withstood some intense hiking and I am heavy footed. They did very well and I will wear them again. I may try these with socks because the sand is heavy and red - my feet were really dirty after hiking in The Arches & Zion National Park. That is the only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars. Last note, I have not tried them hiking through water - if I hike the narrows I will provide an update as I am curious to see how they handle being wet and if it impacts the skin.

I ordered half size up and they leave exactly the right amount of room. It was a good decision. And I chose this particular model of Keen sandal because I wanted the adjustable strap on the heel, another good decision because I can easily customize the fit with that strap and if I need an adjustment during the day, easily done. The color selection is good -- I picked the blue ones and they are fine.I've been wearing them around the house and garage and front porch -- haven't had them long and I'll add to this review if I'm disappointed, but I thought they fit well and felt good immediately. One thing I didn't want to fuss with this summer were pedicures so the closed toe is nice.I've also found that open toed sandals can sometimes make me trip -- and I cannot have that!I have trouble with one foot particular as a result of a car crash years ago and often have pain in that foot. In fact, I had a lot of pain this morning, switched to these Keen sandals this afternoon and no pain. They are supportive. I'm not a hiker so am not going to give them a ten mile in one day test, but they show every indication of at least lasting a normal day comfortably.A couple reviewers think these are ugly shoes. But I disagree. I think they are stylish in the way that rugged rather than fashion sandals have and I like that about them. The price was reasonable, too. I've paid more for sandals with less support.I could have more critical to say after wearing them longer, but right now, I'm very pleased.

Let me start by saying thatI love these. They are very cute, comfortable, and dry quickly if they get wet (usually from my kids splashing me outside). I wear them doing normal day to day activities and I have also worn them to a major sporting event where I was on my feet ALL day. They have not rubbed anywhere on my feet causing pain. I sometimes require I wide width depending on the shoe and these are made with PLENTY of room width wise. I don't know why people complained about the ankle strap, but I have ankles more on the wide side and they fit my comfortably. You can't undo the strap completely however. So if you have very wide ankles you would most likely not like these! As far as the shoes being odor resistant, I have worn these a lot and they DO NOT SMELL! Most of my other sandles start to smell after a while and these do not!My ONLY complaint about these is that they took awhile to get use too because your big toe will catch on a small piece of fabric on the top of the shoe. Unless you have VERY LONG TOES this will probably take sometime to get use too. It bothered me at first but it doesn't not anymore. (Please see picture to show the tip of the shoe). If you are someone is is super picky about shoes this may be uncomfortable enough that you may not like these.Overall these are great durable sandals! I most highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a durable, water friendly, active sandal that is also comfortable and cute!

Update 5/29/14I returned my size 8 and ordered a size 8.5. MUCH better! I also got the Midnight Navy/Hot Coral color which is way better than the Jade (see below). They're a little grayish-navy blue, which I really like. The color is better than I anticipated. I'm so glad I was patient and tried another size and color before giving up! Hooray for Amazon Prime!!!!So I have owned KEENs in the past, but this is my first pair of KEEN sandals. I tried them on in the store many times, but could never bring myself to pay full asking price for a pair. I bought a pair on Amazon because they were marked down and they had my size in a color I actually liked. For anyone looking to buy the Jade green, the photo on Amazon isn't an accurate depiction. They're actually a lighter color. I am disappointed by the color not being what I expected most of all. I'm afraid they're going to look dirty really easily. I would have picked a darker color if I had known what these actually look like. Also, I usually wear a size 8, but my big toe is rubbing on the top of the shoe. Not sure if I need to upsize or if I just have unusual toes. I'll wear them around the house for a while and see if I can live with them. Hope this helps!

This is my third pair of Keens, my second pair of the Venice H2 sandals and I love them. I will talk about the color on this review. This time I bought the Burnt Henna/Hot Coral and the photo doesn't even do it justice. I was worried about the color looking faded out, but to my surprise it is actually a very vibrant and beautiful color, darker in person than it appears on the photo. I feel it is almost like a rust color, very pretty. I almost bought the orange instead, but I am glad I did not, because I feel this color will actually go with more of my clothing items.I also have the Petrol / Twilight Blue Newport H2 and Jade Green / Neutral Gray Venice H2,and they are beautiful colors as well.As far as the function of the sandals, they are sturdy and I don't have a problem at all with any smelly feet as others have posted. They wash well too. The Newport sandals are heavier sandals, I use mine for walking, hiking, everyday use. The same with the Venice sandals, but they are lighter and more airy sandals. I think these are my favorite style and they are very attractive. I bought a pair for my kids and they have gone through three children already and going strong! Best wishes!

I have several pair of Venice H2 sandals that I use for aquatic exercise at the gym. I've had them for a couple of years and though they are still quite sturdy, they are really faded. So I decided to get some new ones and I thought the Celestial Blue was very pretty. I am very sad to report that I had to return them though. These were not nearly as roomy as the older Venice H2s. In fact, I couldn't get my foot all the way into them even after several minutes struggling. To be 100% fair, these are not sold as a wide shoe and I DO have a very wide foot with a high instep just to make matters a little worse. However, Keens of the past fit me beautifully, and folks with normal feet could easily cinch up the bungee for a more snug fit.The reason for one star deduction is the inconsistency of the fit, not because of quality. As I said, the current shoes I own have served me well, and will continue to do so even though they don't look as bright as they once did. I don't know what the heck I am going to do when I HAVE to replace them. I really wish Keen would carry some wide style options.

I love love love love these. I have two pairs and they're almost all I wear all summer. They do run large. I'm usually about a 7.5, and I bought a 6.5 (slightly tight) and a 7 (slightly loose). They are so, so wonderful for casual hikes/walks, especially if there's water involved. They don't work for me for all day, though, I get horrible foot cramps if I walk in them for over 2hrs straight. So I always bring an extra pair of shoes to trade out if needed. The other thing is, if you wear them all day, they start to stink. Like super-strong, super-nasty foot-sweat disgusting stink. And heck, keen might have fixed this in the couple models since mine. So, I don't wear them all day,or make sure that if I do it's for some outdoor and watery activity. I love how these wash in the washing machine. And they're almost in the condition I bought them in, so well have they held up. My husband also got a pair (the men's) and one of the straps is starting to pull up from the leather, but he's really hard on things with his man-ness. He does absolutely love his, too, though.

So, I have been looking for an all leather everyday boot to replace my heavily worn all leather Bogs.I considered many options including Timberland, Keen, Vasque, LL Bean, Dr Maartens, Danner, Red Wing and others. My price range was <$150. The boots had to look good enough for casual work/evening wear and work on the farm, be waterproof and LAST. For a $150 boot I expect a minimum of 2 years of hard use with minimal noticeable wear. I decided on the Rocker II.First the cons:(1) Plan on 2-4 days of break-in with the first day or so being uncomfortable to painful.(2) Almost all my shoes and boots are typically a size 8 and the first pair I ordered was an 8,but they were too big new and I knew the leather would soften and stretch some. So, I sent the first pair back and ordered the 7 1/2 which I should have done in the first place.Pros:(1) After 2 weeks of wear, the Rocker II is really starting to feel good on my feet and break-in.(2) They look great. We'll see how they do in once the fall/winter rains start. Longevity? I hope so.

I am in love with this fabulous shoe. As others have noted, it has the famous Keen comfort right out of the box, but is much lighter and less clunky than many of their other similar styles. The Clearwater CNX is wonderful for city walking, travel, and lighter hiking. Plus it looks stylish. I picked the black with yellow accents, and I ordered a half-size larger than my usual size. When I first put these shoes on, I found them to be extremely comfortable, but very snug, bordering on too tight. After the first hour or so of wear, however, the straps loosened up and the fit became just right. I expect to wear these shoes a lot, and to get a lot of wear out of them (my first pair of Keens from several years ago is still going strong).I would reorder again and again. One of my favorite shoes of all time. My only suggestion to Keen relative to this and some of their other sandal styles is to figure out a way to put some kind of buckle or velcro opening on the back strap so that the shoe is a bit less of a struggle to get on.

I have somewhat narrow (not super skinny--a narrow-ish "B") feet, and although these sandals will adjust to my foot if I pull enough, I end up with a absurdly long"tail" ---so long it has to be tucked under and then looped again into a loose knot. (see images of the tail attached) This is not such a huge deal unless you are in India going in and out of temples every five minutes. If you have REALLY skinny feet (like a true AA, or AAA, find a different sandal--you will break your neck on the endless laces)So, these shoes are somewhat short in length (go up 1/2 size) and really wide (I would call the normal short lace tuck as in the marketing pictures a "C" width) . They are however,*supremely comfortable*, so I'm keeping them and dealing with the long pull and "tuck and loop".(I just notice, that Amazon states above that I bought a 5 B, lol. I have no idea where that came from. Try doubling that and more--I bought a 10.5 "B" (in reality "C") I am normally a 10 B/AA.

We live in a rural area and did not know that this water shoe even existed until we found one floating in the lake. My husband just fell in love with it!. It looked comfortable. So I hunted it down on the net and bought it. They have good arch support and best of all, great traction.Last year, I had thongs. When I walked out on the concrete boat ramp, it was like ice. I fell back and got a giant goose egg on the back of my head. I bought some cheap, local boat shoes. The ramp was less slippery, but not perfect. With these sandals, I don't slip at all!I did buy a full size bigger and they were too big. I returned them and got a full size smaller, which is the same size as my New Balance shoes. The people at the company were most helpful. They had the smaller size on the way as I shipped the large ones back. This involved a double charge on my credit card until they got the big shoes back. As promised, they issued a refund for the returned shoes.

These are well-made, functional, sports sandals — but they were too tight for me, so I gave them to my daughter. They’re the same size as my 2-yr-old Venice H2s. The length isn't bad; but, they’re narrower and the straps are considerably tighter than my 2 previous pairs. I’d say they run about a size smaller than my 10-yr-old pair, and at least half a size smaller than my two-yr-old pair. (I ended-up buying a pair of Newport retros for myself. They’s a bit heavy; but they have a more supportive footbed, and more give around the ankle.)My daughter and I have 8 pairs of Keens, and have been happy with everything but the lightweight Whispers (thin sole, no arch support to speak of,and our feet slide too far back in the heel). There seem to be sizing issues, though. The centimeters don’t always add-up properly on Keen’s size charts; and depending on the shoes, I wear between size 8 and size 9. (Normally I wear a European 39 or American 8-8.5.)

Comfy out of the box! Color is more teal than blue for the ones I selected. Looking forward to using for upcoming float trip but great to slip on to wear around house on hard tile floors and for trips to the park, store, etc. Seem to be very well made and I expect them to take me on many adventures! Would recommend and would buy again. Planning on getting them in other colors. My new favorite "shoe" though I would like a bit more arch support ( I have high arches). There is some but I often add orthotics to my shoes. The width is fine and somewhat adjustable for my medium foot. Plenty of toe room, no pinching on the sides like Converse, for example. Length seems true to size.I wear a nine and these nines fit very well. The foot bed has some cushion to it and I do not feel like my feet slip in these like some synthetic soled shoes. Thanks Keen! My first but not my last pair!
