Can Rieker get any better?! YES, they just did!!!! My only gripe on my last order, was that the toe-fastening needed more length - for fat, wide, awkward-shaped, feet like mine. I wrote this in my last review. AND REIKER MUST HAVE LISTENED. Because this time, my order is PERFECT. Not only have they lengthened the toe strap, so that it doesn't come open any more when I walk, they have also seem to have made a more comfy, sweat-resistant insole. I'm difficult to please, coz I'm a perfectionist. But this sandal meets my expectations ... and more. Can't imagine anyone not being satisfied... And what a bargain, too. Where else can you get perfection like this for this price??? Nowhere. I've tried.

I was having trouble finding some sandals which fitted my somewhat awkward feet which are broad and have a high instep. Whilst straps with velcro do help, most sandals I tried on in the shops were either too long - creating a walking hazard, or too short - endangering my toes. If I was lucky enough to find ones that were the right length for my size 5 feet, most ankle straps were not long enough to be secure. These Rieker 68851-60 sandals are what I know as a size 5 and are the perfect length for my feet. The ankle strap allows plenty of adjustment. The sandals are extremely comfortable and I could wear them straight away. Added to all this, they are stylish as well as suitable for walking.

The description on Amazon website is misleading – as you can see from the photo (which matches the sandals I received...) they aren't 'closed toe' sandals! I nearly scrolled past because of that description, so correcting it would be a good move. Also the description of the colour is weird, but again the photo is accurate. On first wear, I had some problems with rubbing, but as soon as possible put plaster to protect the more serious potential blister. Since then I've worn them out and about quite a lot with no further problems (still with a protective plaster so far, but am sure they'll be fine eventually). I've only had them a few days, however,

Would NEVER buy any other footwear but Rieker's. Wore these sandals for the first time on Saturday and walked 2 miles in them. No discomfort, no blisters... Woman introduced me to Reiker a few years ago. "You won't be disappointed," she said. True. I never have been. It used to be a nightmare to find comfortable footwear, as I have wide feet, bunions, etc. Not a nightmare any more... Only little problem is, I could do with a longer toe-strap, as I have such wide feet and sometimes the strap will come open when I'm walking; as there's not enough strap. My friend has the same issue. But really, we're not complaining!!!!

Bought these sandals as I was having surgery on my foot and needed open toes and supportive straps - they are the most comfortable sandals I have ever bought in this style. The leather is a rich cream colour rather than the off white I was expecting but it is a really soft, buttery leather. The footbed and the straps are so comfortable that it's like wearing slippers - no sore spots or rubbing whatsoever. I have worn them consistently for almost two months and they show little sign of wear - my foot healed a while ago, so I think it's safe to say that I will definitely buy these again in the future.

This is my third pair of Rieker sandals and they are sooooo comfortable. I have walked miles in my other two pairs, along tracks in Greece with uneven roads and around ancient sites and they are wonderful! I hope to take the latest pair with me this year as well as being able to wear them here, although the weather is not always up to it. Although they are sandals they are actually quite warm to wear and I love them. Not the most elegant of shoe but they do what I want and as I have back problems I can't wear high heels anyway, not that they would be much good tramping around the countryside!

I bought the same sandals in Germany, in red, and so was able to try them out. Back in the UK, I immediately regretted that I'd not bought another pair or two in other colours! They're so amazingly comfortable, great on hard surfaces. I had bought comfy-looking sandals from Hotter (I usually like their shoes), but I can't wear them, the soles aren't strong enough, and my feet hurt after minutes of walking. Am so pleased with this Rieker sandal!

I am a size 4 and this is my second pair of Rieker Sandals of this style, (purchased to replace a pair that I had worn out) The fit is perfect, they are extremely comfortable and very well made. The sole is very hardwearing and nonslip. The strap that goes around the ankle is very well padded for comfort and the straps over the foot are shaped to give maximum movement of the toes. The colour is a lovely red and would match with jeans perfectly

These look really smart for casual walking sandals and are a nice cheery colour. They are a little on the narrow side - I have average width feet and find them a slightly more snug fit than usual. Nice soft insole and good thick outer sole and able to get a good all round fit by adjusting the straps. Haven't used them enough yet to judge how well they will wear with serious walking use, but feel promising on initial wearing.

I've worn these all summer before reviewing....First, they look great.They are comfy for everyday, and when it comes to hiking they are good for walking on the road or rougher paths for up to 4 miles, then I start to wish that the soles were softer and more padded.I saw someone else wearing the same ones, and they were horribly faded, so I am careful to store mine out of sunlight!Overall, 4/5.

I bought these as a replacement for my well worn, very comfortable, but unattractive walking sandals I wear when Island hopping around Greece. I wanted something a bit more feminine and these do fit that requirement. However I am slightly concerned about the “ pointy” bits on the heel strap, I fear they may rub. So I shall go with plasters, just in case. Otherwise they are very comfortable.

Good value, feminine looking, light walking sandal. Looks good about town too. Wouldn’t do for tough activities, water sports etc. Well made with good foot support - as you’d expect from Rieker - and a lovely deep rich red colour. Cheers you up and looks great with jeans, peddle pushers, shorts. You could wear on active holiday and not worry about blisters/foot fatigue.

I wanted a comfortable pair of walking sandals, and these are excellent. I have one foot wider than the other, which can be problematic to find comfortable shoes. With the Velcro adjustments these are excellent, and have been extremely comfortable from the first time I wore them. I have worn them constantly over the summer. I’m sure I will be buying more in future.

The Red (Fire/Rosso) sandals are smart, good quality and so comfortable. The red is not as bright as shown but more of a light burgundy red. At first I thought they were a little heavy but not so when wearing them. They are open toed and both straps are easily adjustable with Velcro fastenings to suit narrow or broad feet. I would heartily recommend them.

Am sooooooo happy with my new Rieker sandals..they are a perfect fit and I wore them all day when they first arrived with no discomfort attached all. Excellent value abd I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone. I have a bunion on both feet and Rieker is the only brand to accommodate this with their fully adjustable straps. Well done Rieker.
