After reading lots of reviews, I decided to risk these. I have wide, flat feet and many had said these were more narrow than your average Keen so I was worried. They are a perfect fit, however and don't pinch at all (though they do feel more snug than my other Keens). I am a 9 to a 9.5 depending on manufacturer and took the 9 in these and again a perfect fit. Additionally, they really help me avoid foot pain and back pain, since the foot bed is substantially thicker and seems a bit more contoured than their standard sandal. I use them to walk dogs through the woods and go on light hikes in the Blue Ridge area. There is less open space, so you will get less debris coming in the foot bed on hikes, which is an improvement over my other Keens. The less open space also means your feet will get hotter in the summer, but the extra support is worth it. Also, some reviews said they were terribly heavy. I don't find this to be true at all...they just feel more substantial than standard Keens, and are a tad bit "heavier" but not in a burdensome way. They did take a few walks to break in (no blisters or anything, just leg fatigue as I adjusted to extra support). All in all, a fantastic all-terrain shoe, especially for those of us with occasional plantar faciatus and a terrible lower back.*a little extra I didn't realize: the green details on the brown sandal are actually reflective, so night walks through the neighborhood with the dogs just got a little safer.

I was torn between listening to customers or the "size guide" that assured me these shoes are true to size. I went with the advice of fellow customers and am happy I did. I have three other shoes by Keen that are all 8 1/2 and very good for my bone spurs and high arches. They have a very rigid sole, which is what my podiatrist wants me to use at all times- no toe flexing! I ordered the size 8 and they are roomy. I have feet on the wide side but not wide enough for wide shoes, and a very high arch; I removed the liners, as I have with virtually all of my other footwear, to accommodate my orthotics. The shoes were so loose that I was able to put them back in (much to the delight of my toes, where there is no orthotic. Even then I need to pull the elastic cord to maximum tightness to not feel that they are loose. I am breaking them in indoors and do get some pain at one bone spur at the base of my big toe after an hour or so, but that is my personal issue. Hoping to use these for a NYC trip this summer that involves extensive walking. I may update after I get to use them more.

I like these shoes VERY much, but I have to wear socks with them as they are larger than I'd like. They're very well made and comfortable. They're great in the water on the rocks. I like them enough to order more, but I'll adjust the size I order next time. It's refreshing to order a size 10 instead of an 11, because I was a size 9.5 for most of my life and it's hard to accept that now that I'm nearly 50 my feet are a size and a half larger! Also, these are pretty bulky shoes, which is perfect for what I need them for, which is dog training in the summer months, and playing fetch in shallow, rocky lake shores in Maine. I ordered the Whisper river sandal as well because it looked lighter and more sandal-like,while still offering more support than a regular sandal. For the record, I have chronic plantar fasciitis, and the Arroyo II offers a lot of support. I wish I could wear them to work since I have to be on my feet a lot! I definitely recommend these shoes.

I love these shoes - have owned 4 pairs in the last 5 years & keep coming back for more. They keep changing them every season & are not as nice as the original, but they are still great. The cushioning is great for someone who has to do a lot of walking or standing (I wear them walking around a hospital/university all day), your feet and legs will thank you for it. They do run a bit more narrow than a lot of other Keen shoes, but if you don't have really wide feet, this won't be a problem (I have a high arch & feet a little on the narrow side). I typically wear an 8-8.5 & go with an 8.5 on this shoe because of the large toe, with an 8 my toes are right under that and it's annoying. Overall, highly recommend!

My wife had bunion surgery on both feet. Because of that, she needs a shoe that does not bunch up her toes. Most shoes come to a point, or bunch up your toes. The Keens fit as you would expect. The material is solid. The sole is anchored to the shoe well. This is her second pair of Keens, the first pair is still great but we forgot to bring them with us.Wife wears these to walk, ride bicycle, light hiking or whatever she wishes. An additional nicety is the insole is functional. We do not have to purchase a special insole to make these shoes work.Overall, a well built, solid shoe that allows your toes to sit in their natural configuration.

These were ordered for my partner who is size 6. We mistakenly that that 40 is size 6, but it turns out they are size 7, so are too big. Unfortunately, we didn't notice that the order did state size 7, so didn't have a chance to alter the order. Fortunately, I tried them on and they fitted me perfectly, even though they really are for women and are very comfortable, so we are keeping them. Have ordered the correct size 6 (39) and hope that they will fit. These are a very comfortable sandal and would recommend them. Different manufacturers seem to have different sizing, which is why we thought 40 were the correct ones.

Excellent - very comfortable and am looking forward to testing these sandals out on a bush walking track in the next fortnight. The sole has a great cushioning feel and so far, I have not felt one stone through the sole. Having tried on a size 10 in a local store, felt I needed the 10.5 for a bit more width. However, the 10.5 is slightly too long - the 10 would have been better. Odd that the 10.5 in the Venice H2 is (in my opinion) the same size as the 10 in the Arroyo II.

I used to have an assortment of foot problems common to people my age. Instead of going to a podiatrist, I took a friend's advice to try these shoes (though I'd already tried a lot of other shoes) and I was totally "cured" within a month. The only thing close to a problem with these shoes is that they look like new mo matter how old they are - I know the innards are breaking down when my foot pains return. A new pair takes care of that right away.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Loved them from the first moment. Insole is soooo comfy. Cushions and cradles the foot. Lived in them for 10 days on vacation. Wish I could wear them to work. I did add a sock when hiking to absorb sweat and prevent foot sliding around. It is difficult to snug them down to REALLY hold foot in place with the cords.Believe me, I have problem feet and am difficult to please when it comes to support, but These Keens Do It for me!

This is my second pair of Keen Arroyo II hiking shoes. I absolutely love them. I hiked about 400 miles out west, including into the Grand Canyon. They are versatile in all conditions-wet, sand, rocky, and slick surfaces. The closed in heel area prevents rocks and debris from getting into the shoe. Can't go wrong. The size is slightly larger than my other similar size shoes, but with slightly thicker socks, the fit is awesome.

My wife bought these and finds them a great supportive shoe. She initially thought the rough texture inside shoe would cause blisters but wore them around house with socks for a few hours and was then fine to wear them with just barefeet. The website said UK 6.5/EU 40 but the box when it arrived said UK 7/EU 40/US 9.5 and they fit perfectly. She normally takes a EU 41 so definitely need to order a size smaller than usual.

These are my eighth pair of Keen shoes in one style or another. The biggest reason is the excellent arch support, but they are comfortable overall and I like the way they look. I have not had a chance to wear them on a long hike yet, but they were fine on the short walk. I purchased my usual size 7 and I wear thicker socks and they fit perfectly. I would recommend them especially for the arch support.

This is my third pair of Keen Arroyo, I find them incredibly comfortable to wear all day, they are supportive of the foot and fit well but as many have said I do order a half size smaller, I buy the 5.5 which is a great fit, I usually take a 6 in other makes. They have lasted really well, my only complaint is that we do not get any colour choice I would love it if Keen made them in a new colour.!

This is a sandal/hiking shoe hybrid. It is exactly what I was looking for to hike Mt Rainier. I have a bunion on my right foot and have no problems with it. Roomy and comfortable right out of the box. I measured my right foot on a sheet of paper and its 10” exactly. This size was slightly large but it works out. Can wear socks with them too without being too tight(bunion) Love them!

Bought to replace Keen Whisper sandals which, though cute and lightweight, really do not afford sufficient protection for hiking. These Arroyo II sandals are the real deal-- rugged, comfortable, and the insoles come out so they can be replaced with orthotics or thick footbeds for serious arch support. I've really liked them so far, though I've yet to take them on a challenging hike.
