I am now converted to wearing sandals around the house all year and outdoors as much as the weather allows. After trying some inexpensive velcro-fastening Slazenger and Dunlop varieties that lasted me around six months each I decided to look for longer-lived options.My Amazon research suggested that these were the only ones to consider for long-lived outdoor use as they are wholly without velcro. Styles by Clarks and Hi-Tec had velcro at the back of the shoe. Mine were delivered for free within three days of ordering. The slightly crumpled sheets in the otherwise perfect packaging suggested that they had been sent back by somebody else but this did not bother me as the shoes are in perfect condition and seem very well made.

I bought these sandals three years ago. I have a UK size 10, wide feet and bought the men's Keen Newport H2 sandals. As I walk long distances, 100 miles plus for charity, walking boots got too hot and I had blisters, these sandals were a trial alternative. The sandals have had almost constant wear over at least ten months of the year since I bought them, in all weathers. When training on all terrain, hills, trails, urban footpaths, they have saved my toes from bangs and bruises, feet from overheating and blisters. I wear with socks and bare foot, all day, carrying a backpack and afterwards, they go in the washing machine wash to freshen them up.The only downside,

I'm a Keen fan, with that outed, I'm also have a few pairs of various other Keen shoes as well as these sandals. These Newport's on their 5th year of service. They are extremely durable and very comfortable.Things I like:The toe protector. I don't really like open toe sandals as apart from having my toes out for all to see, the protector does exactly that - protects from knocks and bangs. It also stops dirt and water etc getting onto your toes. If you're walking through wet grass for example the toe cap will keep the water off.Walking through the woods with brambles and nettles etc - no problemThey're respectable enough to wear on almost all occasions too.Vents well in the heatDislikes?

My 2nd pair. I love these sandals, the 'waterproof' label makes me chuckle.After 3 years and about a zillion miles (75% pavement) my old pair (on right) are only showing any wear on the heal. These are a very well made sandals. The leather loops are not frayed, the original shockcord lace is still good and the inner sole and liner are also still good.I'm not a fan of the updated design, so getting these ahead of phaseout.A 3-season shoe for me. V comfy. Served me well, best shoes I've ever had.V quick delivery.

I have been using my Keens for over 5 years and only now am I considering getting a new pair as the back of the right heel of one is slightly coming away. I have used them for everyday summer wear at home or on holiday, for long walks over uneven rocky ground, paddling in rocky pools or on the beach, they have been in salt water and fresh water and even in the washing machine, Even the elastic for the laces are just as good as when I purchased them, You pay for quality and that's what you get with Keens

I bought these sandals in the region of 10 years ago, I have worn them every summer at every opportunity. Superb comfort and grip and because of their easy cleaning ( run them under a tap and leave them in the sun) you don't think twice about wearing them in mud, river water or sea water.They also give considerable toe protection due to their design. Just superb.As for the price, really not expensive when you look at the less robust alternatives. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair.

Brilliant!! This is my second pair. I hammered the first pair over about a decade. They went everywhere, in all conditions imaginable. Eventually the elastic failed and they were pretty worn so time to replace. Second pair are proving as tough as the first. They fit well, don't slop, offer good toe protection (for sandles), reasonable tread grip, operate wet or dry, incredibly versatile and very hard wearing. Recomended if you want go-anywhere sandles for your next outdoor adventures.

As I had seen these shoes on someone else, I knew what to expect. They are perfect for summer walking, comfortable (after a few walks) strong and practical. I probably wouldn't wear them for a serious walk but they are great for beach walks, dog walks and probably cycling as the toes are protected. I have difficult feet-wide because of bunions and age so the men's are ideal for me as they are a wider fit. I normally have a 7.5 and the 7.5 in these sandals is fine.

I really like these sanders, I bought them for summer walking, if anything they are a tad on the small side, several previous reviews said they were large for their size and would need socks, but this is not the case. They are quite heavy which should mean the soles are solid, they are easy to slip on and off and secure and comfortable when worn. I'm hoping for a long summer exploring the countryside of South Lincolnshire.

I have a dodgy ankle. These provide excellent support and a good platform for everyday use and walking. Walking boots can overheat my feet and I can wear these with no socks and walk. Like a kid I wore them and then loved so much I put them under the bed to admire the next morning. When everyone else is looking cool in flip flops and ruining there ankles wear these, look equally as cool, but stay upright and don't hobble

Bulletproof, hard to fault, like many others have said, live in them for the summer, been all over the world in them. Yes you get stones in them sometimes, but other than that, great.On a side note, the Keen women's Whisper sandal, don't buy it, the elastic around the ankle is a bad design, it stretches and causes the foot to slide out, go for one of the other women's designs with a solid ankle surround.

I have quite wide feet particularly at the toes, and these fit really well. Took at little bit of getting used to the footbed, but did not really notice that they were new.The are substantial sandals, and quite heavy (heavier than most of the walking shoes) but toes are very well protected, and walking in them was just like walking in shoes, but with a few holes.Delivery very good and prompt.

Love these shoes, but would not have bought them if the dog had not liked the previous pair as much as I did.They are just like having a pair of walking boots that you can wear in the summer heat and can kick off quickly when you have been traipsing through the sticky stuff.Had the last pair three years before their unfortunate end, but they would have lasted me many more.

I wondered if these sandals could possibly match up to the reviews eulogising themm which I read before purchasing them. I needn't have worried - they were all true. Extremely comfortable and suitable for all sorts of occasions. One thing that I would advise against is wearing them without socks for any length of time as that can make the back of the heel sore.

I just bought myself a 2nd pair i love them so much. I do feel they run half size too small, am a 37/4.5 but need a size 5 in these, same as in hiking boots. My old version is nylon upper but this new version has leather upper, makes them look and feel great. I am so very pleased with my purchase. I also think they are prettier than the whisper model.
