The shoe is sturdy and good looking. My foot seems to have grown lately, I've worn a 9 1/2 forever, my last 2 pairs of sneakers I had to order a 10. I ordered a size 10 of this Columbia Redmond and they are too snug, I'm not even sure if a 10 1/2 will be large enough but I will return for a larger size because I like them and they seem to be a pretty good shoe. The sole has NO cushion at all, they are very firm. The back of the shoe was rubbing a bit on my Achilles but I am hopeful its just because of the fact they are too snug for me. I will update this review once I receive the next size upFOLLOW UP: the 10 1/2 was still to snug even with a very thin sock, they are also more narrow than I had thought,

Firstly, I would like to recommend increasing your size. I fit in 7 1/2s, but normally get 8's for sneakers/boots. The 8 1/2 fit perfectly for this shoe. Once you have the correct size, the shoe was extremely comfortable and is durable and definitively waterproof. To give further perspective, I bought these & immediately went on an 8 hour and several 3-4 hour hikes over several consecutive days through tough terrain in Italy (risky, I'm aware!). No break in necessary (with thicker socks) & when I stepped in 2-3 inches of water submerging most of the shoe, they did not soak through. Awesome hiking boots, would highly recommend!!

I bought these before a trip to Colorado and they were exactly what I needed! I wore them around the house for a few days because I thought I might need to break them in but they were insanely comfortable even the first time I put them on. They have the perfect amount of ankle support without being big and clunky, and the blue accent is super cute. I went hiking every day in these bad boys and the only time I had issues was when I got them caked in mud and lost traction. I just hosed them off after and they were good as new. I'd highly recommend these to anyone looking for a solid pair of hiking boots!

At last, I've found a lightweight walking boot that fits my long but narrow feet. I'm normally a size 8 1/2 but having read the reviews, I ordered a size 10 which fits perfectly. However, the size on the box states that the EU size is 43 which is normally a size 9. Width of the shoe is perfect but I don't think it's over narrow. These will make great summer dog walking boots. It's taken me 3 weeks to find boots which fit my big feet. Great price too. Would recommend that future purchasers check the size chart based on their EU sizing before ordering.

I am only reviewing the general appearance of quality and fit. I returned these shoes because I ordered half a size up and they were still too small. I usually always wear a size 9 in any shoe, occasionally even an 8.5. I ordered these shoes in a 9.5 and my toes touched the end of the shoe, but there was plenty of room in the width (I have a narrow to medium width foot). The quality appears to be fine. For reference, in the lower cut waterproof version of this shoe I wear a size 9.5 and it fits well.

I bought these boots as a gift for my daughter. Based on other reviews I bought a half size bigger but she felt the toe box was still too small. So I returned them and bought a full size larger. She loves them! She has worn them in winter snow - they kept her feet warm and dry - as well as summer hiking. She said they are comfortable enough to wear all day long indoors on winter days and had no problems with 8 hours of hiking. Definitely will buy them again!

These shoes are wonderful, I got them for my honeymoon to Alaska for trails and walking. Be warned you NEED to break these in a couple weeks before and don't be a dummy like me and do it on your vacation. It's been 3 months since the honeymoon and I wear these almost everyday in the MI winter with all our snow and nasty wet roads. I will definitely re-purchase these when the time comes to replace my current pair (which hopefully won't be for a few years).

I purchased these before my trip to Iceland. I didnt do any crazy hiking, but these were perfect for the average walking around from site to site. They kept my feet warm and dry from the rain while being breathable. They would not protect your feet from betting wet if you stepped into a large stream, but for rainfall/waterfall mist they were great. They also come up decently high on the ankle, giving some stability. They fit me true to size.

I love the style, how lightweight they are and the grip on the soles. They were just a smidge too tight- the same day I got them I processed the return and purchased the next size up. But the size 10 fit perfect! Comfortable, light and not clunky. And they’re truly waterproof too- it rained like crazy and my feet were toasty and dry. I work in an environment where I’m outdoors in all climates and there’s no skipping puddles. These are great!

I like big boots and I cannot lie.Those other hikers can't denyBut when you climb a peak you start with itty bitty feetAnd they become swollen, (what a waste).With a waterproof tongue, gotta pull up thoughCause you notice those eyelets got stuffed, yo,By the laces that come with it, so.Deep in those socks I'm wearin"It helps to have two that are pairin'.So use them, abuse themNot a reason I can think of not to choose them.

It's a good shoe. I really like Columbia products. I didn't realize it was a Mid sneaker, but that's okay, maybe it'll be better for harder hiking/climbing. The size is small. I had to return the first pair I bought and that was a half size larger. I ordered a whole size larger and it's a comfortable fit - I have a narrow, size 7 foot. I ordered an 8 (which I'm not particularly happy about).

Bought these for my Inca Trail trek and a couple days in Peruvian Amazon. I sized a half size up because I knew my feet would swell after several miles and the heat. Not much ankle support but they are low rise boots. I slipped on the stairs and hurt my ankle a little but it was fine within an hour or two so I think there is some support. Didn’t slip in mud or wet stone steps/walk ways.

I love the look of these shoes and they performed better than I even expected! I hiked and climbed quite a few trails, mesas, etc., in Sedona last week and they were perfect! The grip on the rocks ( even the smooth sandy rocks) was great! However, they do fit pretty snug! I ordered my regular Size 9 but, I think a 9.5 would have been a little better. Overall, I recommend!

Before I ordered these boots I went to a local store and tried them on (they were cheaper online.) I specifically tried them on on a day I had already been hiking so my feet were at their largest. IN store an 8M fit perfectly. However when the same size arrived they were too small. So as many others have mentioned you need to size up at least a half size.

Purchased for my wife. Per the reviews of the item fitting small, I went up a full size as suggested (purchased 7 1/2 as she typically wears 6 1/2). Ended up being too much. Returned and re-ordered 1/2 size larger (7) and she says they fit well. They appear to be of high quality and she really likes the colors. Hoping they hold up well in Yosemite.
