When it comes to shoes, I'm definitely one for comfort over fashion (you'll rarely ever catch me in heels)...and these Columbia hiking shoes fit the bill perfectly! They look and feel a bit like a cross between a hiking boot and a running shoe, combining the sporty styling and breathable mesh of a sneaker with the thick, durable soles of a hiking boot. The shoes appear to be very well made, and I also find them to be very comfortable. I'm prone to heel blisters, so I typically live in slip-on sandals or mary janes with memory foam insoles. But I've worn these out a few times already, and I haven't experienced any blisters or chafing. They're not quite as comfortable as shoes with memory-foam insoles, but that's probably because they're designed to provide support as much as cushioning...and they really do provide a good balance of both. They seem to be true to size, with perhaps a little extra room to accommodate the thicker socks most people wear when hiking. I tend to fall between a 7 and a 7.5, depending on the manufacturer. The 7.5 fits me perfectly; I can tighten the laces if I want to go sockless or wear sport socks (like the ones in the pics), but I still have enough room to accommodate cushier winter and/or hiking socks. So if you're looking for a comfortable, durable, sporty shoe for hiking and other outdoor activities, these fit the bill! Once our blazing Austin weather cools down a bit, I think these will also become my go-to shoe for biking...I look forward to taking them out for a spin!

I usually wear New Balance walking shoes, but I thought I'd give these a try. Size-wise, they fit me perfectly. I usually wear an 8.5 Wide, and these are great even though they are not listed as "Wide" (which means they are cut wider than a normal 8.5). My foot has room inside the shoe and they're very comfortable. The main difference between these and my walking shoes is how stiff and hard the soles are. This is probably because these are designed for hiking, rather than regular walking. Since we just moved to an area with lots of woods and rugged terrain, I figured these would be a good choice. And they probably are -- I just haven't gotten used to them yet. The soles don't bend easily, meaning the shoes feel stiff and a little odd on my feet. I do plan to wear them regularly, so I'm fairly certain they will "break in." Just don't expect them to very very flexible right out of the box.Overall, I think these are very sturdy, well-made hiking shoes. I'm planning to do a lot of hiking this fall, and I will definitely be wearing these. I'm just hoping they get a little more flexible over time.

I’ve been hunting for the perfect hiking shoes for awhile with key features such as waterproof, light-weight, comfort, and great traction, as I hike a lot with different terrains. After months of looking at different ones and trying on many, this turns out to be the best fit for me! It doesn’t require breaking in, so this was an instant comfort since day one! It’s also great for those looking to hike in rain forest or places with snow as it is waterproof (this was the most important feature for me because I want a shoe that fits like a sneakers and many hiking shoes that are waterproof are usually heavy or are high-tops). The shoe box also got just enough room for thick socks or for those with wide feet.I wish there were more colors but I’m very happy with my purchase.

I’ve been an avid hiker for years and years but have really only hiked in Keens, merrills, and rubber soled snow boots. These are definitely a game changer. I have a true wide foot (which is why I have never really gone for hiking sneakers) but these are insanely comfortable. There’s no pinching of my pinky toes. Usually going down steep rocks I either turn my feet sideways or brace myself but I found myself going down the same rocks straight down with no reservations. There’s also a little heel cup in the back which is amazing, I feel insanely secure in these shoes with no chafing. Very warm- it’s a cool, fall day here in Massachusetts and my feet are toasty warm. The only thing is my shoelaces kept coming untied until I double knotted them.

Over all these shoes are fine and Columbia is a great quality company. I love that these are water proof and tough enough for hiking and outdoor activities. However, I recieved a 7.5, which is the size I have worn since high school, and they are too big. Too wide and too big, so I will have to wear very thick socks with these, and I do not like wearing thick socks. That being said the quality is great and I have had Columbia before and know these will last and be great. I think the gray color is nice, though I would opt for a non-purple shoe string. They soles are comfortable as well. With them being too big though I am not sure how they will work out in the long run. I will give them a go.I would go a half size smaller on these.

I really enjoy Columbia's products. These shoes feel really sturdy and they are true to the size. The material is water proof. The shoes fit me well and they are the low top hiking shoes, so they are perfect for the day hike. When I put them on, they feel really stable with good grips. The soles are on the stiffer side which is why they serve the hiking purpose rather than just daily walking. The shoes are breathable and they don't make my feet feel super hot, so it is great for spring, summer and fall hike. If you want something for winter hike, you may want to find something warmer. Overall I really enjoy these hiking shoes. I can't wait to hike in them soon.

So far so good. Light weight and fit as expected. I have narrower feet so it may be a little snug for those who don’t. They’ve held up great on trails and around the city and dog parks. I live in Portland where we get a lot of rain. The photo is after a morning walk in the rain, two months into using these. Feet were dry. Happy with the purchase but I also own a pair of Merrell MOAB hiking shoes. Merrell’s are heavy but feel sturdier, like they’ll last longer than these. Grips are good on both but I think superior on the Merrells. Merrells are also going to be better if you have a wider foot or like thicker hiking socks.

Love these shoes. They were comfortable right out of the box. I wore them to town to run errands and to break them in as hikers usually need to be broken in, at least a bit. I wore them with wool socks. Even on a very warm day, they were totally comfortable all day. No rubbing, no sore feet, no sweating. They breathe but they are supposed to be waterproof also. Didn’t try them in any kind of water. Nicely cushioned and my feet were not tired at all at the end of a long day and lots of walking. Frankly, these are better than the new hiking boots that I purchased last spring and at half the cost. Really love these shoes!

Bought these shoes for my wife. She's delighted with them - they seem to be of very good quality and comfortable from the word go; no breaking in necessary. We used foot length measurements and the size chart on the Columbia website to determine the required size, and the size we purchased was spot on. We can't comment yet on the waterproofing, but some reviewers have commented negatively after walking through wet grass. I strongly suspect that, on wet grass, socks will tend to carry water (like a wick) to the inside of the shoe - I think any low shoe would struggle in those conditions.

I'm always a bit wary of buying footwear online but reading reviews I decided to go for these as it would be some time before I could get to a shop because of lockdown. They fit perfectly and feel really comfortable. I'm a size 7 and that's what I ordered. I haven't worn them for hiking yet as I'm keeping them for "best" ie when we can start going further afield, and not just for kicking around in. Columbia have a good reputation and I have every confidence that these trainers will serve me well.

Don't like ordering shoes online, prefer to try them on, but during covid in the UK and no shops open I was desperate for new walking shoes. These fit perfectly, first time out five miles, no blisters or rubbing, enough padding on the soles. Have since done many more miles with no complaints. Great color, not the usual browns or blacks, the plum was a bit more stylish. EDIT: Today I wore them in the rain and unfortunately they are not waterproof as advertised. Shame as this is why I bought them.

They STAY tight, unlike some other shoes, which I love. I usually wear an 11, but I went by the sizing chart, so I ordered a 12, and they are a little too big, so I'm wearing thick socks, and they're comfortable. Haven't tested the waterproofing out yet, but if they're like other Columbia shoes I've had through the years, they'll be fine when I need waterproofing! UPDATE: Walked through some shallow water, but enough that if they weren't waterproof, my feet would've been wet. They WEREN'T!

I love these shoes. Since my foot surgery I have had a hard time finding shoes that don’t hurt and give support. I have wide feet and usually have to stretch them. I didn’t have to do that with these. They weren’t right. My foot started to swell and I didn’t have to rip off the shoe because I was in pain. Wore them for 7 hours while I did errands and work around the house and I was impressed. These actually fit better than the 2 pairs of Columbia winter boots that I have.

Received these today and love them! They are fairly light weight, comfortable, and the cushioning inside is great. Love the gray color and purple trim and they fit true to size, in fact I have a pretty wide foot and these don't feel too tight. They're a very nice looking pair of shoes and I know I will use them both for hiking and for general winter wear on our nasty days here in the Rockies. You really can't go wrong with Columbia products I am never disappointed.

Took awhile for me to get shoelaces, and so forth adjusted on my feet. From beginning insert was good on my arches, just I have a "high" front of foot arch, I guess. Always have a hard time with tie shoes and making them fit at high top. However, I kept adjusting and got these ok. Even fit my ortho thing from before, so now, I pick these as my regular shoes all the time! I feel confident won't slip and slide so much, like sneakers do, in the winter.
