I needed something more durable for asphalt than my favorite Salomon trail running shoes (which wore out after 3 months since I was using them for town as well as trails). They're not as lightweight or flexible as the trail runners, unfortunately, but they're comfortable. I'm female but have trail runners in both a men's size 8 and women's size 8. The men's hiking shoes in size 8 feel a bit bigger than both of those other pairs. I've adjusted by wearing an insole in one shoe (my feet are about 1/2 a size apart). Am tempted to buy another pair of these while they're on sale, but while I like them a lot, I don't love them (mostly because of the weight).

They look the same as in the pictures. They feels rather durable, though I have just worn them ridding bike and doing weight lifting. It is reasonably comfortable. The sole is quite stiff, which I guess is designed with dealing with rocky surfaces in mind. The sole provides good grip to the ground. The GoreTex surface appears to repel water quite well as I wore them riding bicycles in rain shower today and they did not let the water come in.I stick to the tip by former reviewers by choosing 0.5 size larger than my normal size. I felt satisfied with the size. I paid 58.99 including shipping for them from. For the price I can't fault them.

This is my second pair of Salomon Evasion GTX shoes and overall I am very satisfied with the quality of the shoes.I walked hundreds of mile in my last pair with no problems at all. I only bought replacement pair because the soles on my first pair were wearing thin at the heals and ball of my feet.My only concern about Salomon shoe is the sizing because I find them to be a narrow fit across the foot. Also I had to buy one size bigger than my usual size here in the UK. They are supposed to be a standard fit?

i would recommend get a half size larger , i also think ! that the company should change the size they have on these cause they are wrong ,people should not have to order next size up ,the sized wrong i would say i have never had probs with getting size 8s and i always cut my toe nails lol ,,but these are a half size short ,i will break them in and i like snug fitting shoes anyway ! luckily

T-shirt very good finishes both what is the fat membrane and what is the entire sole and the sole system that is patented by Solomon very durable I do not use them for compost in the construction that has but they give very good performance it is worth it very competitive with some of the other brands that are more renowned than it's even say better

I was heading off to the Yorkshire Dales for a holiday and decided to treat myself to a new pair of walking shoes. The Evasion 2 GTX were comfortable out of the box. They're lace ups, have good grip and kept my feet dry as I explored the many wonderful woods and streams of the dales.

Beautiful shoe in all respects. Ideal for walks on dirt roads. The supply took place a couple of days after the date indicated at the time of purchase, however in a short time. The price remains attractive even after paying customs clearance fees for Switzerland.

Good waterproof and versatile shoe. It doesn't disappoint like most Salomon. Being such a sold product maybe they are priced too high to be a product made in China. Unlike the Patagonia brand, they lack some more sustainable company values.

Fantastic shoes that just suit my feet. Only advice I'd give is to order a half size bigger than normal - Salamon footwear tends to be on the small side.I've tried various other brands of footwear, but none are a patch on Salamon!

Perfect shoe, slightly wider and longer than Merrill Mohab Ventilator. The Gortex lining works and my feet are nice and dry. Millettds charge more on their own website than Amazon (July 2017). Great grip from sole unit.

sneakers ideal for walking in the woods or trails. Comfortable and prevent the foot from getting wet but at the same time they perspire. Excellent buy. Very fast service and price without competition. A 10/10!

Very comfortable walking shoe. I normally take my dog walking, about 7Km a day in all terrain come rain or shine. These are very good for more solid ground.I couldn't pick a fault with them.

These are my 4th pair of Salomon shoes - I've worn out 3 pairs!As a make, Salomon shoes are on the small side. So I learned long ago to buy a half-size bigger than my normal shoe size.

Great purchase..I bought my normal size and though a bit narrow compared to other shoes they do not hurt my feet. So in respect as others say go for a 1/2 size bigger..

Everything went well, it took some getting used to that it wasn't in the house the next day. The handling was good and certainly also the pricing of the shoes.
