I'm glad I read the reviews on these, and bought a half size bigger than I usually need, and they fit lovely. Really like these shoes, and took them for a good test run on a very wet and windy Ingleborough yesterday in the Yorkshire Dales - they passed, but not quite with flying colours. Although extremely comfortable, my socks were a little bit damp when we got back to the car, but I didn't at any point feel cold or soggy. My feet felt warm throughout the hike.The grips are brilliant, and I can honestly say I felt way more confident on the wet rocks than I ever have done in my usual Meindl boots, and nothing rubbed at all. My feet were hugged comfortably and the laces held tight.I can honestly say that these shoes are the way forward for me.

I wear a UK 4/US 6, I’ve a slim B fitting foot and also wear a medical full orthotic so replace any walking/running shoe inner soles with my orthotics. I ordered 3 different Salomon models of walking shoes as I’d heard they’re a slimmer fit than Berghaus which was way too big and they didn’t do smaller than a 4. I ordered the Salomon Ellipse 2 GTX W in 4, really liked this shoe but too wide and couldn’t tighten the laces enough on the forefoot so was quite loose, the length was fine but had to return. Ordered the 4 in Salomon Women’s Hiking Shoes X Radiant GTX W, liked this too but same problem as Ellipse. Ordered the 4 in the Salomon Women’s X Ultra 3 Prime GTX W - perfect!

This is the third pair of this model of Salomon I bought. I have two pairs (for the reason that I lived between two homes) and this time I bought it for my mum as a gift. I have already been using these shoes for more than two years. They're Salomon quality made, meaning you can't fault them on materials and production side. They're light enough and with goretex suitable for any weather. I wear them daily to work/shops/offroad walks. They're rather on a small fit, e.g. if you're size 5 you'd want to have size 6 of those, and so on. I'm size 6 usually and these I wear in 7, so I can fit a thicker sock if needed. Some people would take a start off for that,

first time buying salomon. they are very comfortable and I feel my feet well protected. since i bought them i walked twice with them doing trekkings up to 5h and my feet did not hurt. About the size, I decided to buy half size more based on the reviews i read. it was a good choice since it allows me to use thicker socks. just one negative aspect until now: the sole seems to have poor grip. in one of the usages, I had to go down some stairs made of polished stone and slipped in one of them. I was expecting a good grip with them since I did not recall having this issue with my merrell shoes.

I've tried various makes of waterproof walking shoes, and, without exception, they've all come up tight. This pair too is on the tight side, and l have to point out that l take an AA narrow shoe!! not as tight as l have tried so here's hoping, they feel comfortable walking round the house, but the test will come when l go birdwatching! The size is off, as others have commented, l tried a 5, but my toes were hitting the top, so size 6 it is and these are ok.

I decided to renew my Ellipse hiking shoes and ordered the same 6.5 size. However, the 6.5 size was too short and then got the size 7 which were perfect. The previous pair were made in Vietnam and the new pair were made in Cambodia. The new shoes have a firmer feel with more support and a better tread design. No breaking in period required. They are fantastic boots as were the previous pair. The previous pair worn on both the Camino and Kamano Koda trails.

I have other Salomon shoes (trail running and hiking boots) and also the Ellipse 1. I always buy 1/2 size bigger in Salomon so that's what I did here. But this Ellipse 2 definitely comes up smaller even than the Ellipse 1. Had to go up another 1/2 size, so a full size larger than I normally wear in other shoes. Happy then with the usual Salomon support, lightness and comfort.

I always buy UK 6.5, after reading some reviews I purchased size UK 7.5 for this Salomon Women's ELLIPSE 2 GTX W.I was a little worry that it may be very large, but I found it fits well.I compared this shoes with my asics size 25.5cm, their length are the same...This is a pair of sturdy and comfortable shoes with a friendly price, but you need to find the right size.

I liked the fact they were a sturdy shoe but not rigidI’m usually between a 21/2 or 3 I got the 31/2 I was going to send them back for the 4 but my partner binned packagingI used shoe stretcher as I have a bunion which seems to be affecting my fitting , but these are rather small madeSo far they feel comfortable although not done a long distance walk with them

These are good quality shoes. I usually take size 5-5.5 depending on the shoe but I ordered these in a 6.5 on the strength of other reviews saying they come up very small. These 6.5s fit perfectly with ordinary socks and just enough room for thick socks when needed. Well made and comfortable even on a first wear. I shall enjoy exploring new terrains in them.

Used for daily or twice daily dog walks in all kinds of weather. The previous pair were so comfortable, when they finally started letting in water after three years, I just had to buy identical replacements. My husband says that walking on sand dunes is no good for fabric and membrane shoes. He might be right but hey ho three years ain't half bad.

I had the original ellipse walking shoes which I loved, sadly they are no longer available, so after much searching I decided to try the ellipse 2. I ordered the first pair in a size 6. (I’m a size 5, but 6 in salomons) far too small. So I sized up to 6.5. Thankfully these are perfect. Comfortable and supportive and a great price aswell.

My trainers had worn out and I looked for identiczl replacement, but not available in my size. These trainers are comfortable, waterproof, and should be hard wearing as have been all of my saloman trainers and walking boots. I would recommend this brand for these reasons, and they have a variety of styles to suit most people.

Good quality shoes. I struggle to find shoes that fit well due to having narrow feet and usually have to replace the insoles to get a better fit. These fit perfectly without having to replace the insoles. The only negative is the laces which are very stiff making them difficult to tie so they do not come undone.

When ordered they were about half a size too small, but thankfully a half size up was available for the same price.The only quibble I have is the slippery shoelaces. I think this is deliberate; they are waterproof afterall, but it does mean that I have to double knot them to stop them from untying.
