This is my second pair of salomon quest boots. First pair lasted 3 years. Went on a gear test trip overnight prior to long distance trail and found them to have sprung a leak. Being that I was comitted to the hiking trip I wondered what to do. I went to a shop and tried several different brands of boot but none fitted as well or seemed as robust as the salomon quest. I'm not sure whether three years is a good lifespan for a pair of hiking boots. My previous leather pair lasted about 10 years. Prioritising comfort I ordered this pair of boots as I would have had to cancel my trip.They are wide fitting and I wear a size larger than my show size.

These boots are great!I have had these for some time now and wear them hiking and hunting. They are warm and keep my feet dry even when completely submerged in water! Can't say enough good...best boots I've owned!I bought them for a trip to Colorado and I have been wearing them for a couple weeks getting them broken in. They require very little to break in, they were super comfortable out of the box. They are sturdy and seem well made. The laces are a little slick though so you have to double knot them or they do not stay tied but they also don't seem like they will fray or stretch and have to be replaced if you use them! All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with them.

I went hiking for six days and these boots are really comfortable and great..The waterproof worked really well and they actually didn’t let any water in...Then I jumped into a river on the third day and got water inside of the boots. but the problem is that the waterproof worked so well that it kept all the water IN and didn’t let it escape so I walking in

Comfortable from day one and waterproof even in tough conditions. Because these boots fit quite high above the ankle there is no movement of the heal within the boot, even with heavy mud trying to seperate you from the boot! However I have found that they rub my bone above the ankle a bit - solved by turning over my socks to add extra padding there.

Size down a half size at least! That being said these are fabulous. Good support and cushioning. The lacing system really keeps my tiny heel in place - usually I'm slipping all over the place. Breaking them in, in advance of a multi day hike and no issues no far. I do add insoles to all my shoes, so can't speak to the original insole.

Have done some homework on hiking boots and these are the right ones! Especially love the extra space in the toes. I’ve taken them on some longer hikes, through streams and on steep grades. My feet remain dry, comfortable and I never slip on any slopes. My boyfriend also bought a pair of Solomon’s and he loves them.

Best hiking boots I've ever had. They're super comfortable to wear all day, and I never got water in them even when I walked through soggy fields, shallow rivers etc. Never had blisters or anything, which was quite common with my previous boots from Solomon and Lowa. They're good looking too.

Best fitting, most comfortable hiking boots ever. Room in the toebox, doesn’t slide up and down my heel... plenty of coushion for long hikes. The only thing I can mildly complain about is the laces... they are slick and come untied. That’s no biggy.

Wore these when I hiked the Inca trail. I had no blisters and they were super comfortable. Additionally they had great cushion and ankle support. I highly recommend them. Note: I wore them around and to work for about 1-2 months before the trip.

I’ve only taken them hiking once but they had decent grip in the snow and on ice. The sole is a bit stiff, incoming from a pair of Merrill’s with Vibram sole so it’s a totally different animal. GREAT ankle protection, very well made.

Worn twice and really like these hiking boots. The first time was a steep climb with 2 hours walking and not a blister. They are not too heavy either and the toe box fits my wide foot just fine. The tie system works easily too.

I bought these books because reviews said that they fit well and took little breaking in. The first time I wore them, they fit properly and I and I had no hot spots or blisters. They are comfortable and look good.

Bargain tun out model, substantially cheaper than the Mk3. Only issue with these is Gortex is never as waterproof as they claim and these will absorb water when continually drenched, e.g. in long wet grass.

I’ve been hiking in these for three months now and I’m in love. Lightweight yet ultra supportive. I love the lace system because my laces seem to stay tied more than any other boot I’ve owned.

Salomons just fit me well and are always my go to shoe/boot; these do not disappoint. From day one they were awesomely comfortable. Can't wait to snow shoe and hike in these.
