first off, I am not a paid solicitor. I am not employed by Vibram, or their affiliates. Nor was I gifted any merchandise so that I would write a favorable review.that said, I am just a satisfied customer submitting my thoughts about this product.I ordered my pair of KSOs on a Friday morning and they arrived on the following Sunday in the early afternoon. There were still a few hours left in the evening so I put on the shoes while I was taking my dog out for a stroll. Right out of the box they appeared to be well constructed. The seams are tight, I did not notice any flaws in design, and they were delivered as advertised. This is my first pair of 'finger' shoes from any brand. Why I decided to buy the Vibram KSO EVO is because, compared to the other shoes that were advertised alongside them, I wanted to purchase a pair that had a closure/tie off in the front compared to others that either had them in the back or they were just slip on. I did not want to try slip on shoes because it seemed to me like after they got stretched out a bit that they would not fit as well as they once did. I did not want to try ones that fastened from the rear in case I got a blister on my heel and wouldn't want any extra material flapping at or exacerbating the inflammation.I also decided to purchase these shoes because the appeared to have a well constructed tread on the bottom and my dog and I often find ourselves out in the woods or on trails when we go for hikes or jog. After I took them out of the box and put them on the next thing I noticed was how snuggly they fit and how comfortable that they are to wear. I wear a 12 1/2 Wide, and not having that option I guessed like I do with most other brands of shoes that I have worn that I would need to size up a half size to find a good fit. It was either going to be the 12-12 1/2 or the 12 1/2-13. I went with the 12 1/2-13 and scored with a great fit that leaves a little bit of room that I do not mind having as it affords me a bit of wiggle room. I imagine that if the shoes were flush to my feet that there would be some chaffing. I am happy.A word of caution; wearing shoes of this style is just like walking in your bare feet. You will feel things that you might normally walk over without any second thought in a pair of thick-soled shoes, but with these KSO EVO it's more like you are wearing a glove... on your feet. You will feel roots and sticks, rocks and other hard or foreign objects, just not as much as direct contact with a bare foot. That said, you might also notice, like I did this morning when I strapped on my new shoes and went for a jog with my dog, that there is no displacement of energy. It was me jogging at a good pace, my feet hitting the ground and moving me forward. The thought that came to my mind was that it seemed like if I was making the same journey in my regular sneakers that it would have been more like running in sand or through the snow. I would have been making the same progress, but I would have been spending more energy to get there. In my sneakers it seems like, as I hike or jog or just walk, that the cushioned sole is absorbing momentum and minimizing the overall distribution of energy needed to maintain a good stride for any duration. I could immediately feel the difference in my stride wearing Vibram KSO Cross Training shoes as it was my feet in conjunction with the muscles in my legs and back that were carrying me forward and I was not wasting any of the momentum that I was generating with that energy by having a cushioned sole strapped to my feet to disperse the impact or alter my stride.I can feel the tone in my calf muscles and feet working together much more succinctly. Upholding my opinion that committing to same exercise in regular sneakers or trainers prevents my body from maximizing its own potential.I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone that was looking for a simple, well constructed shoe that affords not only a more natural feel to exercise, but will allow for a more natural stride. A++

I decided to transition to barefeet shoes and i went with Vibram because of a friend's recommendation. I was a bit skeptical of barefeet shoes because i have 2 herniated discs in my lower back and i was under the impression that i needed cushioned shoes ALL THE TIME. Boy was i wrong. When you wear barefeet shoes, your feet naturally sends signals to the brain so you can start walking naturally. We are suppose to walk with the feet landing just bellow the toes or on the ball of the feet, NOT THE HEELS! which we naturally land on our heels when wearing cushions foot wear. I LOVE THESE SHOES. The size i chose was perfect for my feet, i can spread my toes,it felt like i was barefoot with some protection at the bottom of my feet.First day i wore them, i took them to the gym and work. It felt awesome. They are especially amazing for the gym when you're doing legs. Since you don't have the cushion sneakers give you, your feet are perfectly flat to help with you balance when you're doing squats, lunges, etc. Not only does it help with balance but, it increases your balance AND makes your feet stronger. I used them for kickboxing too and i also did not lose my balance when i did high kicks. As a helpful tip, do not go crazy in barefeet shoes by running for miles and miles if you have never worn barefeet shoes. Your feet will resent you for it and they will hurt, a lot. Start low and slow. I highly recommend Vibram five fingers to anyone wanting to transition to barefeet or get a great pair of workout shoes.Lastly, if you are on a budget and want to see if barefeet shoes are for you. Try the Tesla Baretrek shoes. Also sold on amazon for only $23. it has a bit more cushioning on the bottom than the vibram but don't let that scare you from getting the vibram five fingers. Definitely will purchase another pair once these wear down.Hope this helps! :)

Firstly: I have unusually wide, thick feet, so most shoes don't fit right anyway. If you can comfortably wear a generic pair of shoes, these should fit very well.Secondly: I do not run, so I cannot say how well they work in that regard. I use them as daily shoes for walking and biking.Thirdly: These did not fit quite right, and I knew this when I bought them. But I came up with an easy fix that does not require modifying the shoes themselves. See SOLUTION TO EXCESS LENGTH below. When looking for a replacement pair of toe-shoes, the only variety I could find locally were thick and heavy (defeating the point of toe-shoes, personally), but it gave me an idea of the size I would need (43 was the narrowest I could fit).My previous pair of toe-shoes were only 3.5 millimeters thick, and these are at most 5 millimeters thick. I like the thin soles because they allow my feet to conform to the ground I'm walking on while protecting me from sharp rocks, wood slivers and broken glass.SOLUTION TO EXCESS LENGTHAddressing the fact that the shoes were technically a size too large, I bought a pair of thick insoles (cheap, generic Walmart foam arch supports, about $6), stood them upright in the back of the shoes, marked the highest point, then drew out a half-circle with a tea cup and proceeded to cut (scissors worked best, razors were hard to control while cutting a curved line). This created two "shims" that fill out the extra space, pushing my toes comfortably into the front of the shoe. I beveled the edges to the best of my ability and blackened the foam with a permanent marker. Putting on the shoes requires first putting a shim into the heel, folding that down, tucking my toes into the forward half of the shoe, then lifting the heel into place. Repeat for next foot. Takes about 10-20 seconds apiece after a few adjustments and a little practice.

To start, I love Vibram's FiveFingers shoes and have been an early adopter. I own an original pair of the KSOs and they're still kicking. I've used them multiple times a week for nearly 5 years now and it's only within the last couple months that the holes around the seams at the toes started to develop and necessitated a replacement. However, I expect these to last just as long, if not longer, as the seams seem to be better designed and their fit is even better than the original KSOs.I use these for running, weight lifting, and general everyday use. I also have a pair of the Bikila LS' that I've used exclusively for outdoor running but I've found that they wear out a bit quicker than the KSOs and how these have worn so far.The tread isn't amazing but it's pretty great compared to the originals and it feels significantly more substantial.Another key feature that i like is how easily they pack down. The original KSOs seemed to be a little more rigid based on how the sole was designed but these allow a little more flex so I'm able to shove them in a pocket on my backpack and know they'll fit snugly and compactly. One of the features I miss is that there aren't any heel loops like the originals. The reason for this is due to the fact that these fit significantly better on the heel and feel more like a suction which provides a better fit overall but I liked the loops because I could strap them on the outside of a pack instead of sacrificing a pocket that I'd otherwise use for something else. This is one of the few drawbacks and cons I've encountered so far.All in all, I love these shoes and I'm so happy I bought this replacement when replacing my original KSOs. If you're on the fence about a FF shoe, this is a workhorse and is good for just about anything you may need, or want, to do.

These things are amazing and lots of fun. They are modern gloves for your feet that give your feet a taste of what walking, hiking, and running are like the way we evolved to do so naturally. Barefoot conditioning is almost impossible on a planet covered in concrete and sharp trash plus the modernization of our species has done away with super toughened feet soles. Shoes and work boots help boost productivity and movement. These things are an intuitive evolution of this concept while allowing your feet to perform and feel the environment in a safe way. I can't possibly say enough awesome things to convey how much I enjoy this product. My only drawback is that they get all kinds of funky smelling.I wash mine in a tree oil and peppermint body wash product I found on Amazon that boasts removal of fungal growths and this keeps them fresh and ready for extreme use. As much as they cost, I have been running, cycling, hiking, working, doing yoga and dancing in these things since I got them and my second biggest drawback is that I need to save money for more pairs and styles of these. Plus I got short stubby toes and worried they wouldn't fit properly with this price tag. Wasn't even an issue. These things tighten up and take a little breaking in to get them to go on the feet properly but after some time they will go on like a favorite pair of work gloves.

Upon ordering a pair of these I was very skeptical as to how they were going to fit. Many people in the reviews are saying: "Buy a size larger!" Others: "Buy a size smaller!"Due to the fact that trying to find an actually store that sells these shoes is harder to find than a missing Lego (I live in Morgantown WV, I checked four separate stores all of which the Vibrams website told me they sold), I decided to take my chances and order the size that the chart told me. (I wear 10.5, I bought 41s).First couple times putting them on takes a bit of patience. You may contemplate cutting off your smallest toe because you can't get it to wiggle into its spot. For me after putting these on I fell in love with them. They feel great already.. And I'm not even completely used to them yet.Excellent traction, fit very comfortably and feel very unlikely to slip off.Shipping was very fast too. I ordered them Monday morning and received them Wednesday. At these rate I will gladly purchase more in the future.UPDATE:Throughout my life I have always been burdened with getting shin splints every time I ran for extended periods of time. With Vibrams.. Not anymore! Running barefoot will change the mechanics of your form, making perfect sense.

I've been wanting a pair of these shoes for years and I finally bought them! Nov 2, 2020 my first pair of KSO Evos arrived, my first pair of barefoot style shoes. They fit like a glove, totally comfortable, and I got to work right away on getting my feet adjusted to the new feel. They were the all the best things I'd read about online, but then... by Nov 14th, I noticed that they'd fallen apart --less than 2 weeks after they arrived. I'd read about this happening to some users, but now it was my case too. I wouldn't call my usage exactly heavy duty or anything extreme, especially since I was treating them somewhat lightly to allow my feet to adjust. I used them for probably about a half dozen walks in the park, albeit up and down steep dirt paths. I also tried running in them twice for about 3 to 4 miles all total running. I don't know why they fell apart so quickly although my guess is that some gravel bits may have gotten in and then just worked through the toe seems. I'll try another pair and update later. I REALLY hope the next pair hold up better because they feel great. I've never enjoyed running but these made it a completely different experience, like nothing I've felt before while running.

First pair of Vibram's and so far so brilliant! I love em. Got a pair of Trek Ascent's a week later as these Evo's don't hold up against wet British Weather (however, as much as I got soaked, I didn't actually notice they were wet until I took them off). I use these for running in dry weather and down the gym. As per the headline though, as these were my first pair, I went via Amazon wardrobe and ordered 6 pairs over 4 different sizes to make sure I got the right fit. Great service by Amazon, great product by Vibram. Thanks to the middleman for being... the middleman.Note, I did a lot of reading into these before taking the plunge. Please do so as well. You WILL need to change your walking style if you are not already practise in barefoot walking/ running. Being new to barefoot, my first 2 weeks so far have been full of aches which have mostly been DOM's as my muscles are being re-awoken after years of atrophy!Otherwise, they are really comfortable and IMO look really cool (I get some strange looks, but they are a great icebreaker/ conversation starter :) (I've been referred to as the Man from Atlantis hee hee).

Good luck getting the right size for your Vibrams. I was advised to get a size 6 by the Vibram UK store as I am normally a size 9 in trainers and 6 in Vibrams would be most fitting. Amazon had suggested size 9 which I was told would be way too big. I got these in 6.5 to wear barefoot. They were way too tight and made my feet hurt. I ordered size 8 and they are a little loose when barefoot so I guess you need to try the shoes on first before working out your size. The fit is quite wide - which suits my feet. The shoes are very well made and look like they're will wear for ages. I'm using them just for gym and circuits and they are great for that.I have wondered several times if they would come off during exercises like burpees or jumping jacks but they stayed firmly on, though my feet did move a little inside. I never wanted these silly looking shoes before but trainers didn't give me the feeling I wanted and actual barefoot training was causing skin to blister or just scrape off during exercise. These have done the job of filing that space between barefoot and trainers. Great grip too.

This is my first pair of vibrams and I must say I am very pleased with them. I was given lots of advice about getting some. Some people said to get the size smaller than your shoes others said to get the same size and just buy socks so it fits better.I have found that getting my normal shoe size fits just fine, any smaller would be very tight and probably quite restrictive. I do also have some five finger socks and they do add a little extra comfort but don't make much difference. The only noticeable thing is that my feet are much warmer with the socks but as we are coming into summer I don't think it will make much difference. The one bit of advice that I was very good was to get a pair with laces as this gives a much more secure fit which helps when running on the treadmill.I bought these specifically for weight training and I can feel the difference being barefooted gives when performing compound lifts so I am very happy with that.I wouldn't however wear this particular pair if I were to go running on the roads, I think a pair of the more rugged Vibrams are better suited to that.

Let me get something out of the way first.....My daughter and girlfriend cringe when we go out in public. I am not the kind of person that likes to draw attention to myself, but I get a lot of comments from strangers about my shoes (Mostly Positive). Good or bad, I could care less, because these are bar-none the best shoes I have ever owned. It takes a break in period with any five-finger shoes, and I have been wearing different types for about three years now. These are the best, and the closest thing to actually being "barefoot". The soles have just the right amount of protection without being obtrusive, and the rubber is very durable for the thickness. After seeing Vibram put these shoes on closeout,I have purchased and additional 4 pair to have in reserve. As you can get these for a significant discount off the original MSRP, it is worth giving them a try. Please note, that I have a regular to narrow foot and these fit me perfectly, however, I could see these not being a great fit for someone with a wide foot though. Hope this helps!

Where it asks if the product provides good arch support, I selected yes because it does give what it's supposed to. Which is not much. These shoes are truly minimal and allow you to feel everything pretty well while giving excellent grip. They're also extraordinarily light and flexible. While not quite as comfortable as the other shoes I purchased at the same time, the Vibram FiveFingers Mens EL-X (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BCO81S6/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_5), they are everything that I'd hoped for. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that, after a bit of running, the design does start to peel off. This is functionally unimportant, but if you care about how they look, this is a negative. The main difference between these shoes and the EL-X is that these have the speed laces whereas the EL-X has no laces at all. The result is that the EL-X feels more comfortable to me, but they can feel a little loose until you've worn them for a few minutes (I've noticed this sensation each time that I wear them.

Having read the reviews of these shoes, I wanted to use them a while before posting. I found that there is definitely a learning curve with these shoes. When I first got them, it would literally take me five minutes to get them on. Now, my toes just seem to wiggle themselves into place. I use them for strength training, and I got a little sore from doing barbell lunges. I think that was because I was engaging muscles that weren't used to being engaged, which is the intent of the shoes.I also got them to use on rough beach on vacation. The grip on these shoes is remarkable, even on slick/wet surfaces. I was worried about the lack of draining when wearing them in water, but the water just squishes out immediately,so it's not a problem. The craftsmanship is excellent and there's no sign of broken stitches. I will say that they do start out a little tight for size, but there is some stretching with use, so this needs to be considered. These shoes have no insulation value! They're perfect for warm-weather or indoors.

These are my third pair. I like my previous pair a little better as they seem to have better overall construction. They lasted me 6 years. I got my first pair while still in the air force since they had put such an emphasis on fitness and used running to achieve it. After getting hurt by larger and more bulky shoes, a squadron member sent out an article called "Kick off your shoes and run a while". This pointed me in the direction of a minimalist shoe and Vibrams fit the bill. This pair does not seem to be of the same quality as my former pair and I don't expect them to hold up as long but would be happy for a year. I don't run much anymore but use them in a crossfire-type gym for the same reasons as running. The only difference is I seem to be the only person wearing them anymore. These are in black, so I will be wearing them more often along with some men's cotton socks that I got here on Amazon. $16 for a package of 6 and they wick moisture. I like being "barefoot" without having to be barefoot.

Loved these from the moment I put them on... perhaps my favorite FiveFingers yet. The only shoes I own anymore are barefoot shoes: I even had my one remaining pair of dress shoes modified by a local shoe repair person. Also, I go shoeless as much as possible and the KSO EVO is the closet shoe I've found to the totally barefoot ecperience. These look great with shorts or denim. Amazing floor/ground contact: excellent for fitness activities and dancing, They are amazing shoes for drumming as they provide just enough protection yet fantastic contact with the pedals. They do run small compared to other classic Vibram Bakila, Speed, etc. models. I might have benefited from one size larger, however,I prefer shoes with a snug fit and these seem to be stretching enough. If you don't like a snug fit, though, take heed (as others have mentioned in reviews) and order a size larger than usual. Bottom line: these shoes, like the other minimal cushion/sole shoes in the FiveFingers line, are game changers!
