The more I wear the Kayano 25 shoes, the more comfortable they get. They work for both running and walking. When I first started wearing them, I noticed that my foot was sliding to the outside (probably due to the over pronation support) so that my foot was constantly hanging over the outside edge. Still very comfortable but... I then made a conscious effort to push my foot more towards the inside edge. After a few days, the shoe seemed to naturally adjust and now I find my foot is more centered in the shoe. The first few days I had a few moments were I felt like the heel hadn't quite absorbed the landing shock but after a few days it all seems to have worked out.I like that these shoes are not overly plush.Sometimes I found shoes that were too soft actually rubbed against my foot as my foot slid down into the sole. These feel very supportive. The sole feels softer now that I have worn the shoes for a few weeksAt first I thought there was not much arch support, but after walking and running in these shoes for a few weeks, I found that my body does not ache the way it does with less arch support shoes. I can wear these all day with no problems. The shoe box feels wider than on previous models but still not like the kayanos from years ago. However, I have no rubbing and can easily wiggle and spread my toesI also like that the Kayanos no longer have the thick designs on the outside that rubbed against the side of my feet but rather use exterior thin decal type designs.I would definitely purchase again

I had bilateral knee replacement surgery, (yes, both knees at the same time and no I haven’t been diagnosed with a mental issue) last summer so I am not a runner: I plan on keeping these over priced pieces of metal for a long, long time. I am however physically active and exercise regularly, which is good for my waistline and my husband if you catch my drift, but I wouldn’t be so active if it wasn’t for these shoes!! I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which is worse than a 23 hours of labor with your 4th child and no medication to dull the pain! But with these clouds of comfort I can walk a pretty significant distance on the treadmill, do 5000m on the rowing machine, complete my workout and my feet aren’t barking at me to call it quits!I’m usually not one to buy shoes online, but after going to one of those over priced sporting goods stores, and having the 19 year old woman-child keep trying to get me to buy the same damn brand of shoe just either in a women’s or a men’s, I said to hell with this. I went to a different over priced store, dealt with another woman-child, got the style of the shoe and went home and ordered off Amazon. They weren’t the exact style, but I sure wasn’t paying twice the price at the store for the same comfort.I am in love with these shoes, not as much as my husband or my knees and on a good day my kids, but they come in a close 3rd or 4th!

I picked up running about 2 years ago. Back then I was unaware of running trends, and figured any running shoes would work. I had a pair of Asics Kayano in my closet (purchased because of the colors) and ran in those. I completed a half marathon wearing them. Then I started reading about running trends and switched up to a New Balance shoe (big mistake), and "ruined" my foot. Plantar Fasciitis. Spent several months rehabbing, and spent stupid money on custom inserts, and got into a Mizuno shoe (which I loved). Unfortunately, as shoe companies do, the next Mizuno model didn't work for me and my search started over again. I tried Brooks (and returned them). I had Hokas and these Asics in my cart.Ultimately, I decided to go back to the shoe I started with. I am SO glad I did!I normally wear a 9.5 shoe, so I sized up to a 10 for these. They fit perfectly. I didn't use my custom inserts in these to see how they felt, and found that I didn't need my inserts in these shoes. They don't cause my PF to flair up at all. The toe box is perfect too. The arch support is moderate, and the shoe itself is lightweight. So, I'm back in Asics, and I hope I can stick with these.

I researched new workout shoes for quite a while before I settled on these. I have a unique problem of narrow feet with high arches but my ankles have overpronated ever since I was a little kid. When I work out, especially walk, which I do a lot, the inside of each big toe gets callused from my feet turning inward. My last pair of Asics were the Gel-Excite 4 and while I liked them (and the price), they didn't provide the support I needed. These Gel-Kayano are perfect so far! The toe box is nice and roomy but the shoe itself fits snug and supportive. I normally wear a 6.5-7 shoe, depending on style and got the 7 for these and the fit is great.I saw some people complain in reviews that the insole was too hard and I don't find that to be an issue at all. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars is because even though I've only had them a month, I've noticed the fabric inside the heel starting to pill. I love the nice, cushy heel support because my shoes always wear out in the heels before anywhere else but a little disappointed the fabric isn't holding up a little better. I've probably put about 30 miles on these shoes, so far.

I had extensive foot surgery about 4 months ago, and my surgeon recommended these shoes as my first pair of "real" shoes as I transition from my surgical boot. I have high arches and a neutral ankle position. These shoes are extremely comfortable; the insole cushions my heel (important because there's a large screw holding my heel in place now), and the shoes support my ankle. I can walk and stand much longer when I wear these (as opposed to being barefoot). I've even noticed several moments when I think, "Wow! My foot doesn't hurt!" That's a huge win for me because I've experienced constant foot, calf, and ankle pain for years. These are even more comfortable than my most comfortable pair of pre-surgery sneakers (which I wore with an orthotic). My only complaint is that there isn't as much arch support as I would like; however, I have extremely high arches (so I'm not a good barometer for shoes with "normal" arch support) AND these shoes have removable soles in the event that I decide to add an orthotic. Right now, I'm just enjoying the fact that I can wear these sneakers comfortably as I slowly return to regular activities.

Started running in these shoes a little over a month ago and I fell in love with them! They made the intermittent pain from Mortons neuroma disappear and they are GREAT for overpronation. My foot is so wobbly and flat but this shoe gave it solid stability. My only complaint right now is that I have developed severe plantar fasciitis in the last 2 weeks and it has sidelined me. I added arch supports and that seems to help but it also makes the shoe itself fit a little too tight putting pressure on the top of my foot. So, I decided to see if a complete shoe change is what I needed and after trying on quite a few pair, I found the Brooks Adrenaline and I was running in no time with ZERO pain then I put these Asics back on,and the pain was back instantly. I want to love this shoe because it was amazing... until it wasn't. Going to let my foot heal 100% and I might give them another try. As far as the color/look goes - I bought that wine red/pink color and it's gorgeous!! Love the look of the shoe and I've always bought black runners before this so getting a color that bright was a change for me but I love it.

These are wonderful shoes for this flat footed lady...I have a hard time finding good shoes because I have very flat feet, so most shoes leave me with aching feet due to too much arch. Add on the fact that I work 12 hour shifts on my feet at work and my feet have not been in a good place...I didn’t want to spend this much money, but the current price is a lot cheaper than usual so I sucked it up and bought them. These shoes feel like I’m walking on clouds. The shoe is supportive to my entire foot and I feel balanced. They are the perfect shoe for being stuck on my feet for long hours. That being said, the look of the shoes are not particularly impressive to me. I feel like ASICS usually has some sort of design, especially around their signature logo but these appear a little blah compared to others and the logo is barely visible. I wanted a mostly black pair so this was my option in kayano 25’s. I’m not saying they are ugly, because they certainly aren’t, just boring. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and will get a few more kayano 25’s at this price so I have them when I need them!

Finally. THIS version, the Kayano 25 is a return to the reason I fell in love with ASICS long ago. I don’t know why shoe manufacturers do this, but they mess perfection and cause some versions of their most popular shoes to disappoint. Why they don’t use the same last from year to year is beyond me. The Kayano versions before this one had become ill fitting, too narrow in the toe box, and unreliable. Version 25 fits like a dream. The toe box is just wide enough without being sloppy. The instep and heel are perfect. This shoe provides the perfect amount of stability and cushioning.I’ve been a runner for a long time. I think the first version I tried was the Kayano 19. I bought 3 pairs of them. They saved my feet and knees from an abundance of pain and kept me running. Thankfully, the 25s have restored my faith and love for this amazing shoe. Unfortunately, I feel like I’ll have to stock up these before they are changed again. ASICS, please stop “improving” the design, and just give us some new colors each season!

Updated April 2020....I have just received my Kayano 26 shoes...Yes!... They are improved even more than than the 25’s... The toe box got slightly bigger which is a plus.... and cushion is even improved!.... And the color choices are great too!....Well I have been a Kayano Gel supporter for many years and these do not disappoint...? I wear a size 10 and they are very true to size. I love the fact that everyone Kayano shoe I have ever bought you can put on and they need no break in period, "they fit!". These are just a tad bit roomyer in the toe box thean say the 23 or 22, 24 was getting there... the forefoot cushion is improved along with the heal gel as well... I am flat footed and the arch support is amazing...Just buy them and try them, I stand on my feet for more than 10 hours a day, I won't say your feet won't be tired just due to "your tired"... but these will make such a difference in your total well being for the day. I don't buy any other shoe... Hope you give them a chance....?

I love these shoes. I have problems with pronation and my arches, and this is literally the only brand or model that feels comfortable. I've had at least 6 pair of these over the years starting with the Kayano 18 or 19. The earlier pairs I had were bad to wear through at the toes, which I also heard was a problem from several other people, but this hasn't been an issue since the Kayano 22s. I bought two pair of the 22s and alternated one pair for daily walking and one pair for running. Three years later, one pair looks like a bald tire on the bottom but the other is still functional, which I suppose is a good lifespan for a shoe.I've been wearing the new pair for a week now.I work at a university where I'm routinely walking up to 3-5 miles a day just between classes and they're amazing. I always pair them with the SofSole athletic inserts for women and they work great.I'm heavily considering buying a second pair as a backup. Maybe I'll get another 3 years.

Podiatrist recommended this style of shoe. I went up a half size due to reviews and am glad I did. The shoe only comes with an insert, like all other shoes with no real arch support, I did not try to shoe alone without orthotics. I switched them out with orthotics which make the shoe a bit tighter on my injured foot. The non-injured foot fits snug and toe box is narrow for a "normal" size, I would have gone with a Wide shoe box I had know. With the insoles, the shoes feel supportive, hold my feet correctly for walking and give me support for my back. If I would have gone to a size bigger and a wide toe box they probably would have provided a better (correct) fit.I haven't broken them in and wonder if that's what the shoe needs or it should already fit correctly from the beginning, I believe it's the latter. I like the color and the look of the shoe. For the price, it would be nice for more information on how to correctly choose the shoe be on the description.

I've never had the proper kind of shoes for the way I walk/run, and these made it so much more comfortable for the awkward way I put weight on my feet. I do 5-10 miles a day, and since I've started wearing these, my feet are never sore. The only issue I had was the 2nd day of wearing them in (which wasn't really a problem since I kind of expected some pain). It ripped apart the backs of my ankles pretty badly to which the inside backing was full of blood when I was done with my run... Hydrogen peroxide got the stains mostly out, and bandaids helped make more room, so I'm not concerned. So basically, be prepared to wear bandaids on places the shoes may rub so you don't get sores from it (totally my dumb mistake). Now they fit my feet and everything is perfect with them! It's been about a month now, and it's still like walking on a cloud every time I wear them!

I initially bought these in a 7.5, but went up to an 8 after realizing some foot issues I was having was likely due to the toe box being too small. I am a relatively new runner, but I'm training for a 10K. These shoes provide excellent support to my knees, ankles and feet. I went with the sea glass color and I am OBSESSED with them. I am not having the foot issue and can run 4+ miles at this point with very little soreness. Although I love these shoes, I highly recommend going to a running store and getting fitted before purchasing. How I came to these shoes was that I went to a running store where a clerk had me try on like 15 pairs until I found one that felt good then she tested my stride to ensure it was correcting any pronation issues I was having.I purchased my second pair via Amazon, but I had peace of mind that the shoe would work for me.

Love love lovee this shoe. I used to wear kayanos for years, it was the only show that worked for me. But then the most recent models were very different from typical Asics kayanos. This model is fantastic, there are a few minor things I would change but I'm just so glad they brought their style back more to the way it used to be.I switched to Brooks for s while and they literally fell apart and started to disintegrate after 6 months. I called customer service and they said "that's their expected lifetime and we use environmentally friendly products"....while I support environmentally friendly products and using the least amount of chemicals possible, 6 months? And I only ran a 10 miler race in them.So happy for these kayanos coming back more to their original style. Perfect running shoes, I hope they stay that way.

** Updated** beware the new technology and fit as this seems to have impacted me and caused a injury to my tendon (6 weeks out so far). Im not totally blaming these new models as these are my 7th model upg in this range over the years IVe gone form model to another with small issue...However my physio has advised that it has contributed to it. I need to be careful going forward that the change is not too big for me. The past few versions of the Kayano have been a slight narrower fit that has suited me however Ascics have now gone back to the traditional style shoe again slighter more space in the front end this is ok for me but i do have narrow feet. Good shoe good fit stick to the normal size. Not sure about the new technology yet but they feel ok after about 20k so far.
