If you can buy expensive headphones, smart watches and decent kit then you should invest in decent trainers too. I had a pair of Asics Roadhawk FF's bought for around £40 about 8 weeks ago. So far, ran 160 miles in them and they've worn straight through. Also, my lower leg (soleus?) has been aching the last two runs, to the point where I've had to stop and walk. I'd had enough and wasn't at all impressed that 'running' shoes just don't last and cause problems. Then these came along, the Ghost 12s. Yes they're expensive, but as I said at the top - if you can put money into a smart watch or kit or headphones to help you run then you also need to put money in to your trainers.I took delivery of a pair of these yesterday, went for a slow run to break them in. My word, it's like running on pillows. What a difference. When running you feel like the shoes are helping you land properly (not on your heel), you feel very well supported and I felt I was all of a sudden engaging my calf muscles more (not 'slapping' the floor and getting sore shins). This morning, zero pain or discomfort in my legs. If I had to pay £100 just to do one pain-free run, then I'd have done so. I'm looking forward to putting the miles in with these trainers and I'm sure they will more than do the job, with class-leading comfort. Buy them!

Pronation. If you are an over or under pronator in running these shoes are not designed for you. (Do a net search) It basically means you run too much on the inside or outside of your foot. The wrong shoe can cause injuries. A neutral stroke is what I think of as a basic stroke. (Not technical here.) I cut injuries by 50% when I went to a good running store where they evaluated my stroke. Brooks 12 is made for neutral running strokes. For a neutral runner, I think Brooks 12 is with the best of the best! I think it's the number 1 running shoe in America. And for good reason. Good comfort, good cushion, nice fit -- I think a running shoe should last 400 miles at least and I get that.I used to buy a Brooks model that cost more (It had a nice upper) But I went to Ghost and the shoe performs the same. I admit I don't like spending $109 for shoes, but I think I should be able to go to the movies and have some popcorn for about $5.00.I really encourage two things. Go to a running store where they know how to evaluate your running stroke. Spring for good shoes. When I used to buy cheap shoes they did not last as long and so it ended not saving money.

Trying to get back into running after 50 can be really discouraging. I'm fighting an old big toe injury that messes up my right leg and there's just the extra weight, worn out knees, and everything that goes with not running much for 30 years. I realized I had to get more serious about the shoes I was using. Reading reviews and articles, the Ghost seemed to fit the bill for what I need. I have reasonably pronounced arches so I thought I'd try the neutral support with a lot of shock absorption and, holy smokes, is it making a difference. As it was, I needed days to recover every time I ran. Now I feel good the next day and I'm starting to feel the benefits of running in all my other activities.Starting with just getting out of bed in the morning.I had some trouble figuring out what size I needed. It wound up being a half size larger than what I used to wear and in the wide fit. This was really important as the regular width hurt the foot with the bum toe. It was worth the effort going through a couple of sizes to find the right one. I'm not sure I would have kept running without these. Now I'm psyched when it's running day.

I am training for my second triathlon, which is an Ironman 70.3. I wanted to get a shoe that would provide the cushion and support without being to heavy for speed work. This shoe has a great balance at most everything. This shoes does not necessarily specialize in any area, but maximizes its strengths in versatility. It will give you the light and responsive needs for speed work, but will also provide all the support and cushion you need for long runs. Can other shoes beat the Ghost in these individual categories? Yes, but no other shoe can provide the ability to excel in any type of run you can throw at it. I would recommend this shoe over its heavier counterpart the Glycerin 17,as the added weight is not worth extra cushion for most runners. This shoe is great for whatever level of running you want to throw at it. Unless you are aiming for extreme ends of the spectrum in distance (ultramarathon) or speed (short sprints) this is the shoe for you.Possible improvements:-Style. This is not a big complaint, but I added some different color laces to add to the style of these shoes. Overall great design.

Moving from Brooks Transcend 4 to Ghost 12's and it's as comfortable as my previous ones. It's difficult to compare as 500 miles on a pair of runners will no doubt create some comfort changes even if they look new still. With these I am currently running 2 minutes quicker which is a huge difference and comfort has something to do with it. This also wasn't a one off as I have changed between the two and it is constant. These are nice to run it right from day one, I had my best 5k time of the year the first time I put them on and then the following run took off another minute. They of course have been replaced by the 13 now and no doubt the 14's are around the corner but having done 30 miles now I am happy to review and let you know how comfortable and easy to run in they are.I would have personally prefer a better colour but looking to do over 500 miles in the first half of the year will have me looking at the 13 and 14's by July.

I job on the treadmill 2 to 3 times, a week, a few miles each time. I had a pair of Nike's that were not doing me justice, and heard these Brooks ghost 12 shoes were pretty good. I have only used them once so far, and can only give you a small sample size, but of that very small sample, I am very pleased. First of all, I have wide, and flat feet, and nothing usually fits right. These fit almost perfect, which make a huge difference. The cushion, support, were really the difference after about 1 mile into it, felt great, then near the end felt the same. Seemed to have a good feeling while in these shoes, would recommend to the average joggers/ runner. If things change, I will updated, but for now very pleased with the produce, although $130.00 is a bit for shoes, the most important part is the less pain I feel while running in them!

Best running shoes ever for a neutral runner looking for good support and cushioning. I have had for a year and run 3-4 miles every other day. Love these shoes and have held up incredibly well.UPDATE: ordered a second pair and the fit is not consistent at all. My first fit perfect but the second pair same size (10.5M) are too short. Unfortunately I thought it was just because they needed to break in and stretch but not the case. Now I’ve run several times and can’t return them. Very disappointed in Brooks lack of quality control on the sizing. Still a great show design and overall quality. Will be trying my luck with the Ghost 13 and donating these. If you get these and they are a little snug in the toe, don’t make my mistake of thinking they will stretch after break in. I’d return them and get a 1/2 size up.

So, I usually wear a 13 and occasionally a size 12. I bought the 12.5, and they fit like most 13's. I got the wide shoe, but it was actually regu6width even though it was marked wide. Bought the 12 5 x-wide, and they fit, but they are n ou t extra wide 4e as marked. Because of the thin insoles CurRex has an excellent option for arch support.https://www.amazon.com/Currex-Dynamic-Insole-RunPro-Profile/dp/B079HZN6W7/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=curex+insole&qid=1570637862&sprefix=curex&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=ATQVZ5XOTVSSN&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE1OUhPQU9RR0tSNVYmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAxNTQzMjUyS0U1MURJU004MkIxJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA3Mzc4NTY5VjNNMUJTMEQ2SUEmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

These shoes have lasted around 1000km, which is about right according to Brooks - The seam has just split on the outer edge of both shoes and sadly, they are off in the bin.Bought these for long distance work as reviews were decent. Performed pretty well cross country and not a bad shoe, can’t really fault it. Comfort started to wear off in longer runs towards the end.Not exactly “must buy again” material. I’d probably recommend something a bit more techy. I feel like a decent pair of shoes adds a level of psyche as you put them on and even as far as psyche from the feedback each foot strike. However, I can only describe this shoe as having a beige personality.

The cushioning is fantastic. I also like the reinforced patch in that spot where the big toe often pokes through the material ruining a lot of my trainers. The only issue I have is that they run rather narrow at the midfoot. The toe box is plenty wide enough, as is the heel area. What's unusual is the huge difference between the width of the toe box and the width of the midfoot area.I bought the regular width ones a size larger than my usual dress shoe size. So lengthwise I have plenty of space, which makes it all the more surprsing how narrow they are in the middle. I'm still keeping them but it's not 100% comfortable.

I am a Muay Thai kickboxer and and Type 1 Diabetic. I am constantly running, shadow boxing, and performing rigorous activities. I have never spent more than $60 on a shoe for excersize. After Losing a couple of toe nails and constantly getting calluses on my feet, I decided I needed some better, high quality technology based shoes. While the Ghost 12 may be more expensive than you average shoes, They are spectacular for my running and other excersizes. The shoe fits me very well and I feel protected on my runs. These shoes have helped me push my lower body through harder training sessions. Love these shoes!

Having run with other leading brands the past few years, I find Brooks to be my preferred. Quality and comfort seem to be far superior. I run these Ghosts as an alternative to the Ravenna, which is more of a stability shoe. There was hardly any breaking in period for either. The durability of these shoes is fantastic. I may be able to stretch the life of them beyond 600 miles. With regard to fit, the toe box seems a little short for me on the pinky toe side. I generally wear a 10.5, but may go with 11 on my next pair, as one of my toes is rubbing a little.Definitely sticking with Brooks going forward.

I had spinal fusion surgery. Comfortable shoes for walking and exercise are EVERYTHING to me. Brooks Ghost is by far the best sneaker I've ever worn, and I've literally walked in every sneaker possible. It's so important to me to feel pain free - that's not going to happen. But with this shoe, I've never felt more comfortable. I used to swear on Asics Gel Nimbus until they changed the format of the design and it went all downhill. From now on, as long as Brooks keeps this design, I will use my old pair while doing yardwork and my new pair everywhere else. Ghost 12 is such a winner. Cannot say enough.

Great shoe!! I always had heard of Brooks shoes but never had a pair until I got a pair of Ghost 11’s that didn’t fit my Dad right. They were a few months old but I was amazed at the comfort despite already being molded to my Dad’s foot. So I took the leap to buy a new pair and WOW! Amazing comfort and support in the Ghost 12’s. I’m such a fan and this is hard for me to say because I love Nike’s so much. I have to admit Nike is more for show now that real comfort. I only tried the Ghost style of Brooks, but I’m totally hooked on them and I’m not even a runner. I wear them for casual and working out.

I've worn Asics and New Balance for years and have heard so many good things about Brooks Ghost and read so many rave reviews about them that I decided to give them a try. All I can say is that they more than live up to their stellar reputation! Great padding for a smooth ride, great support, fit true to size, aesthetically pleasing and classy, quality workmanship. I read on a popular website that reviews running shoes that they are one of the highest rated (95/100) and most popular (top 1%) of running shoes in America, and I can see why. Highly recommended!!!
