ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 7 (4E) Shoes, 10.5XW, Carrier Grey/HabaneroSold by Zappos5 starsThis is the first pair of Asics sports shoes I have bought and will not be the last. They were very comfortable, from the first time I put them on a month ago and every day since.I found myself doing a lot of walking every day with my work, so I switched to running shoes for work instead of work boots, since running shoes are more comfortable. Then I realized I needed new running shoes, because i was wearing my old pair out. I found the ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 7, reasonably priced at $65, and they have the wide fitting I need.I had been buying cheap sneakers from a big box store that would wear out in about a month with all the walking I do,but these have plenty of tread left. The name has "Gel" in it, but I did not find any visible gel pads, so I don't know why they're called that. They are made in Vietnam from synthetic materials, no leather, but they dry quickly when they get wet. All in all I think they are good value for the price.

I am about 60lbs overweight and have been power-walking on a treadmill for the past few weeks (since Covid 19 began). I bought these shoes to help my sore feet. They were a bit firm (almost snug) when trying to put them on for the first time, but I got used to that. However, I think the fact that they are firm (on the sides only) are why they are so great at keeping my feet comfortable during a workout. I went from very sore and tired feet to having ZERO stress or pain at all in my feet. I ought to know, I have had spinal fusion surgery, plantar fasciitis and pain from flat-feet. With these shoes, none of that! I highly recommend these, especially if you can get them in the $45-$55 range. There is absolutely no reason to spend more money on a walking/running shoe, as this will make you happy.

I have work Asics for a lot of years, and had several of this same series or previous incarnations. It's a good shoe, but there's on thing different about the most recent version I purchased. They changed the strings on them and they really kinda suck. They are really thin and two-dimensional, seem slick and hard to tighten up and make a good knot, harder to tie. I couldn't stay they aren't as strong because I haven't had them break or feel like they would, they just feel weird. They used to put must sturdier, rounder, thicker strings on them, good grip, easy to tie. On either set I always have more string than I need and keep stepping on them and getting untied, but these are great shoes for casual wear, walking or hiking parks or fields that aren't too rough or wet.

As someone who considers themselves to be a runner, I take pride in the gear I use, just like I take pride in the food I eat. When it comes to running accessories, products tend to be very expensive, especially with running sneakers. As a college student, I find myself having less money and access to the nicer shoe brands. So instead, four months ago I ordered a pair of these Asics for $55, which is noticeably cheaper than the high end brands. I wasn't expecting much from a $55 pair of shoes, however, I was proven wrong. I live in New Orleans where the roads are broken and take a toll on your shoes quickly. I found that these Asics hold up extremely well in all conditions!Would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a solid shoe at an affordable price.

I used these Gel Venture 7's for 30-60 minute jogs on city streets and rocky dirt trails. They held up well during that time, although the cushioning starts to wear out around 300 miles. The outer edge of the heel rubber wore down around the 11 month mark, and from that point on I think I was often striking the ground with just the foam cushioning.I would recommend these shoes for casual recreational running or general all-purpose outdoor sneakerage, but for serious runners training for races and such, I think you could find something either lighter weight or more durable and supportive. I understand that the Gel Nimbus, Cumulus and Kayano series from Asics are a step up,but they seem to cost 50-100% more than these Venture 7's.

Once upon a time I had plantar fasciitis. That's science talk for my freakin feet hurt! I was a brand loyal Nike guy for ages. I'd wear them out in like 6 weeks. My wife said I need better shoes and pointed me to the Asics Gel shoes.I never looked back.In just days, my feet didn't hurt anymore!I'm on my feet all day. I work in different shoes, but I love my Asics on my off time. This is my 4th pair of Gel Ventures. I don't even shop anymore. I just look for these and click buy now.Comes in all the cool kid colors, and plenty of dad-o-rific colors guaranteed to embarrass your teen daughter when you pick her up at the mall. These shoes even make your jokes funnier.

I've been buying Asics 12 4e/x-wide since I left for basic training in 1989. My feet are so wide its difficult to find a comfy shoe. I've had the luxury of some $200 pairs of Asics and honestly these were just that comfortable to wear. I've actually fallen asleep in them, and that's not me. I'm diabetic and a really big guy. As a former runner, I still walk very very fast and usually my shoes come off first thing when I get home. I can not praise this particular pair enough. Once I get paid again next week, I'll be buying a second pair. Dont hesitate, I almost did because of the color scheme, but would that have been a mistake! Get a pair or two!

Needed a good quality (i.e. foot support) running shoe for 13 year old son, who is growing fast. I have bought two pairs for him in less than two years. The shoes are not terribly durable, but lasted just long enough for my son to grow out of (i.e.6-9 months). I have Asics myself now and have owned pairs in the past (for running), and I like their physiological design philosophy. I think Asics is an excellent brand. For an adolescent regular use, the sole and the cloth were pretty worn out by the end of their life but these were always older models, so I was able to buy them for cheap (relative to their normal retail). I would buy again.

Half sizes and 4E widths mean that I can buy shoes that actually fit. This is my second pair of these (actually, the first pair were Gel-Venture 6, but, close enough), and the first pair held up for over a year and about 1500 miles. They lost a star because the 7's came with cheap, flimsy laces.....I took the sturdy laces from the old 6's, and tossed the cheapies that came with the 7's. Also, the foam insoles in the 7's were lightly glued in, but they came out in one piece with a minimum amount of tugging, so I was able to replace them with my Superfeet inserts....which, incidentally, have lasted over 15 years.

Excellent. If you like Asics, you'll like these. Order your usual size. I've had the Sonoma 2 and Sonoma 3, and this pair is far better than both, though more in the vein of the Sonoma 2. The Sonoma 3 is quite stiff but fine as a shoe. This shoe has decent support but the upper is soft enough for a good comfortable feel. I personally like trail shoes for the road because of the extra torsion control in the sole--better on my ankles and knees. I'm not sure why others don't like them for the road but I can imagine it's for the same reason I do like them. Your call. Anyway, great deal, comfortable, cool colors.

This is the weirdest review I have ever done. I had to return these shoes because the size was too perfect. My feet are just a tad over a Size 9; they are also extra wide. I have never ordered this brand before and i have ordered 9 extra wides for years and they have always fit. These however, were too short and my big toe was hitting the front of the shoe. This is NOT the shoes fault. When they say Size 9..they mean Size 9. I suggest getting your feet measured before you order these. If you are even a smidge over what you think your normal shoe size these wont fit. Im impressed with the shoe size accuracy.

I've been a very big fan of ASICS for a long time and when I saw this pair, I knew I had to add it to my collection! It didn't disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my expectations in terms of the actual color, style, and comfort. I think ASICS added a new type of insole foam so it feels extremely comfortable, more so than the countless other pairs of shoes I've owned (and the ones I still own). I also loved the discounted price on Amazon! Im not sure but I think this particular model has been discontinued from the ASICS line this year but if you can still find it on Amazon, grab it! You'll be glad you did!

They are comfortable and stable. My Gel-Venture 6 finally wore out. These are similar but different is some ways, the 7 is:1. Cooler, the mesh is more breathable,2. The tongue is more padded,3. The heel cup is much more solid and stable,4. The sole is a bit less flexible, so it is great for backpacking,5. The insole is glued to the bottom of the shoe and is perfectly flat. I pulled mine out and replaced it with new ones.6. The shoe laces are slimmer and seem to be as strong as any I have used.Bottom line, whoever designed this shoe did a fantastic job of fixing all the mistakes on the 6.

This is my second pair of Venture 7. I have had the first pair about 6 months and they are comfortable, fit well and are wearing as expected. Comment from the first purchase applies to this purchase - Previous ASICS running shoes I purchased online had removable insoles. The insoles on these shoes are glued in. The shoes fit comfortably and look good. The only issue I have are the shoe strings, they are very thin and cheap, they stretch. I will replace them with better quality shoe strings. Would I buy these shoes again, yes - The shoes went from 1 star to 4 stars after they broke in.

I had spine fusion surgery in July and the only therapy I can do at this point is walk. I have the same shoe in another color but walking every day ~2.5 miles means getting the shoes wet and muddy at some point. The new ones are my dry weather shoes and the old ones are for wet days. The others have lasted at least two years though only as casual shoes with shorts. Now that I can walk for exercise again, I needed another pair and liked the first pair so much that I bought these. As long as ASICS makes this model I will buy it. I have a very wide foot and these fit very well.
