I bought these after several years of using the Brooks S-257, which I bought from a local company which put customers on a treadmill and video recorded their gaits, and then recommended shoes (sadly no longer in business). Since that time I have been a less-than-serious runner, but in the last 2 years decided to get more serious/consistent about running. 257's got to the point of some pain after I would run a 5K, so I decided to start looking for a replacement. So as a complete novice, I know NOTHING about running shoes. I remember that I'm a mild over-pronator with somewhat flat feet. Time for Google.I started out with Brooks, because after all, they lasted me several years and were comfortable (if a bit heavy).Of course my trusty 257's have since been long discontinued. So after reading a lot of comparisons and reviews, I had to decide between (previous model) Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 (on clearance, good price), or the new model Adrenaline GTS 19. Being frugal, I figured the 18's would be the best bet (saving $40). Also ordered the ASICS Mens Gel-Cumulus 19.The Cumulus are not great at all. They felt half broken-in after the first run, and my feet and hips were in some pain for a couple of days.. NOPE.Next run, GTS 18. Not as bad as the Cumulus, but still had that shockey kind of pain in my feet after running. The pain would last a day or more, so no good. Was really surprised that such a highly-rated shoe would hurt my feet and hips! So, time to bite the bullet and spend the dough-rey-me. Decided I would do my own comparison and ordered the Asics GT-2000 7 and these GTS 19.Was excited about the "rail" in the GTS 19. Revolutionary. Awesome. Best thing since sliced bread... but not for me. They really feel fine for the first mile or so (which I run in around 7 minutes), but then fatigue begins to set in, and I really have to kinda watch my gait. By mile two still ok, but have to begin considering my steps. The shoes are feeling kinda thin. I mean... I'm getting tired, and what form I may have becomes less than professional. Have to pay attention to try to monitor each step. But.. I only have 1.1 miles left. As I draw to a finish I don't care much about my gait. I'm just dragging my tired rear-end across the finish. At this point, I'm more concerned with salvaging my time and trying to finish strong and keep that spring in my step. BUT, my feet are feeling a bit worn (no pain, just tired), and feel like I should concentrate on each step, or I might actually hurt my feet. Also noticed that the tongue area was kind of rubbing the front of my ankle in an uncomfortable way. The shoe never really felt secure on my foot. I personally do not like tight-fitting shoes, but no matter how loose I tied them, the opening around the ankle felt stiff and kinda annoying. Like a stiff collar on a shirt. Is this really my best option?????Yesterday I tried out the Asics GT 2000 7. I ran my second best ever time. I didn't even think much about it. My feet never hurt, I don't remember actively concentrating on how my steps were coming down. I sit here typing this the next day, and my feet or hips don't hurt at all Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the Asics are more like my classic 257's.The GTS 19's will be going back.

I'm sad to say that I'm genuinely very excited about this shoe. The 2019 GTS has had a major redesign of the shoe uppers. And with that I am pleased to say that the stitched toe cap has been removed. For me these nearly always are the first thing to break. The front part of the shoe upper is now one continuous piece of fabric, which I'm hoping will be much harder wearing. I've just finished running this shoe in and the fit and feel is the same as previous generations, if not better. So I am very happy with my purchase and optimistic about how this shoe is going to work out in the long term [UPDATE: 100+ miles, no issues or loss of comfort]. And that's the review, but if you want to find out why I feel so positive then read the epic follow on below.I've been buying adrenaline GTS shoes every year for over 10 years. I run the same distance every week, same pace, same surface. I try to get a year out of them (which puts them on about 1000 miles). My typical GTS experience is that I buy them, after 8-9 months the toe cap starts coming unstitched, and by a year they are dangerous to run in (as my big toe is usually poking out the end). The exception to this is the GTS 11 and GTS 12 which lasted 14 months+ (I still have the 2012 model as my backup pair of running shoes). From 2012 the GTSs (while outwardly seeming virtually identical to previous versions) steadily deterioriated in quality until the GTS 17, which were absolutely awful. I had two 2017 pairs - the sole of the first came unglued in 3 months and the same happened to the second pair plus the toecap came unstitched within 6 months. But the GTS 18 - that was a fine shoe. Mine lasted well over a year (until the achilles padding wore out a couple of weeks back - which I think is one of the honorable ends for a running shoe). In my opinion the GTS 18 was the best shoe they've produced since the GTS 12. But the GTS 19 looks like it could be even better. If you squint you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between the 12 and the 18. But the 19 is a different animal completely - it looks like a modern shoe. I'm hoping that the major redesign is an indication that they have taken feedback and improved the shoe. As opposed to just cranking the GTS handle. As always, time will tell.

My son is an over pronator and always struggled in sports complaining from arch pain, knee pain and back pain. He was going into a military youth program where he’d be involved in PT several hours a day. I reviewed several shoes and bought the two best ones I could find based on reviews and what fit my budget. One pair were ASICS and these were the 2nd pair. He got the ASICS first and really liked them. But once he got these, he said that these were the best sneakers he’s ever worn. His reasons were that they were extremely light weight as if he wasn’t wearing shoes at all, they look good (he didn’t feel like he looked like a dork in them), arch support was really good and impressive, and the back around below his ankle was soft enough that it didn’t hurt or dig into the back of his foot. It’s been about 2 months now that he’s been away and he still writes me saying that these shoes are holding up well and still his favorite go to pair for PT, while the other pair (ASICS) are good too but these are his favorite. He has no pain and runs 3 miles everyday in these shoes.I was very impressed myself and happy that I found these for him. Size was perfect fit and true to his foot size. These are an attractive shoe, well made, durable and great for people that have a low arch, flat feet and over pronators like my son. I highly recommend these shoes and I will continue to buy them for my son. These shoes stay in my Amazon favorites list. I hope they keep these on the market. My son is 16 1/2 years old, soon to be 17, 5’ 8.5” and weighs 212 pounds.

I work in health care and spend long hours on my feet. I also developed plantar fascitis in my left heel and had to look for supportive shoes. After wearing the Adrenaline 18 for 7 months, which helped quite a lot, I am glad I recently bought the Adrenaline 19. Several small issues that bothered me with the 18 have been miraculously resolved in the new model! These were: Loose heel, strangely shaped at the toes, indentations at the sole under the arch, laces too short to tie a 'heel lock' and a 'flat' feeling overall..(Obviously many people had the same complaints about the 18...) The 19 provides excellent fit, cushioning and stability. It also provides a bit more length for the toes than the 18,and because of that it might feel ever so slightly bigger than the 18.. For me that's perfect.I can honestly say that the new GTS 19 is even more comfortable than the GTS 18, and I feel almost zero pain from the plantar fascitis issue. One issue with the 18 was that the soles of the 18 were extremely slippery in wet pavements. I haven't tested the 19 in that respect, but the soles seem very similar, so I wouldn't expect improvement there.I also don't expect the shoes to provide cushioning beyond the six month mark. But, all in all, the Adrenaline 19 is the best shoe I had for the last ten years at least! Thank you Brooks!21/5/20: Bought another pair of GTS 19, they are even better. Although it is the same shoe, the shoe and the materials seem more streamlined.PS. My plantar fascitis is a thing of the past.

I am hard to buy shoes for and I NEVER get them online. But after New Balance shoes seem to fit worse and worse through the years, I thought I would try these. I do not have big feet, but they are wide, and I normally wear 10 EEEE. But as I've gotten older, my 4th and 5th toes are getting scrunched together and most shoes, not being wide enough, put pressure and sores on my toes. The problem with most "wide" shoes is that the shoe might be wide enough around the ball of the foot, but then the sides angle too sharply toward the big toe. I could not find any shoe in my local shoe stores to properly fit without putting too much pressure on my outer toes and I've tried many brands.I took a chance on these shoes and they are the bomb!On the advice of several others here, I got a half size larger (10.5) and the extra wide width. I have NEVER had a better fitting shoe, not even New Balance when they used to fit ok 20 years ago. The shoe is wide enough not only at the ball of the foot but it does not angle too quickly back towards the toes. I can literally walk for miles in these things and I wear them when I'm on the treadmill. NO blisters or red spots on my scrunched toes anymore. In fact, I liked them so much, I'm leaving a review on them here and buying another pair.

I am 68-yrs-old and work out 3x week, two hours per day. Early in 2019, I added HIIT training on a treadmill that had a setting for that option. The experience was thrilling, eventually alternating between 5.8 mph and 2.5 mph. My knee started hurting after awhile and I was instructed to back off, so went down to 5.4 mph for a shorter period of time. That eased the pain back, but I missed the thrill PLUS this has been great in lowering my BP. In the most recent issue of Men's Health, they recommended and pictured 5 running shoes. The Brooks suggestion especially mentioned it was good at reducing knee pain. I researched all 5 and thought I would give Brooks a try.I really appreciate the reviews on Amazon suggesting to order the shoes 1/2 size larger, which I did. When I received the shoes, it was a tight fit. I'm usually a 9, ordered it in a 9 1/2, but if I were at a sporting goods store, I may have tried on the 10, but would have settled for the 9 1/2. The 9 1/2 is very supportive. I've been running on the treadmill for two weeks now with no knee pain. I have bumped up the speed to 6.2 mph -- and the thrill is back!

I've been using Brooks Ravenna for several years now, and I find them a great shoe, light, springy and feel fast. But recently after suffering from several small injuries I found my toes (mainly 2nd) take a hammering during longer runs to the point where they are swollen and bruised. I think this is a result of over pronation. I can't even remember when I last had normal toe nails on these toes.Anyway I thought I'd try the new GTS 19, which has slightly more support and what a difference.. I've done 2 runs now, one short (7k) and one longer (15k) and I've certainly felt a difference. Firstly this shoe is so comfortable, there is a lot of protection from the hard surface (something I like).Secondly it feels like there is less pressure on my toes during and after running. The shoe feels fast, or fast enough for me. So far so good. I've tried the GTS before (15 I think) and didn't get on with it, but this is a massive improvement. I went 1/2 a size up on my normal shoe size and the fit is perfect. So, if you are looking for a comfortable supportive shoe give this a go.

These were my first ever running shoes and I really loved them. At first I started running in my everyday gym shoes, but eventually my feet and knees started to hurt. Getting these shoes entirely eliminated the pain in my feet and helped with my knees a lot too. After a couple months these shoes do seem to wear off especially when running on the road, the pain in my feet starts coming back and I do have to get the new ones, but all manufacturer's mention the distance-span limit upfront. I am a low intensity long-distance runner doing a couple hundred kilometres per month and right now I'm on my 3rd pair of this exact model. Despite it getting outdated, I don't really have any motivation to switch to the newer more expensive models. My main issue is the longevity because I don't want to be spending hundred $$ every couple months, but newer models don't offer any longer life-spans.The photo shows the condition of these shoes at the end of their running lifespan - so they are still in a perfect condition for biking or regular workouts. All-in-all great shoes.

I bought these for my husband who is an athlete with very flat and wide feet and no arch, who always has trouble finding sneakers that he can wear for more than a few minutes - or to work out in - that don't ultimately cause him to have foot pain. He even has custom orthotics, but they don't help with the pain at all. Plus he's the kind of guy who has trouble sitting still so he's always on his feet and loves being active. He goes through sneakers very quickly because he is a major over supinator and his sneakers always lose their supportive structure as a result. I read the reviews about these sneakers and bought them right away, hoping they would be both cushioned and supportive, and they are!My husband LOVES them. He usually wears Asics Gel Nimbus but the design keeps changing and they have become less and less cushioned with a smaller toe box, so he's given up on those. He has also worn New Balance and many other top of the line sneakers, but these Brooks sneakers seem to be the winner. I am so glad to have found them for him!!

My knees sure make a lot of noise considering that I don't think I have any cartilage left. Lots of basketball, running and racquetball. I am 68 but I still try to run a little and I am heavy. I was looking for shoes that could absorb my weight when I landed and not bottom out. Also I wanted cushion to make it a little easier on my knees. These absorb the weight and give the cushion. Very happy with them. My feet are A width but I buy the D width which works fine with the thick Thorlo socks I wear. An added bonus is that I feel like I am running a little faster and these shoes make me want to run more. I was using New Balance Fresh Foam shoes but I wore them out after four months and I went out for 2 miles about three or four times a week. Also should mention that Brooks has a decision tree feature on their web site that helps to decide which shoes are best for you. It steered me in the right direction.

First up, I didn't buy these trainers through Amazon but having used them for the first time this morning, I had to say something about them. I went for a 5 mile run to "break in" these new shoes, having worn my old ones out during a long training stint through the summer. I was expecting to head home with blistered feet & was ready with the salted bath and the sofa to put my feet up throughout the morning. How wrong I was. These trainers were like wearing a pair of comfy gloves. My feet have never felt so good after a first run in new trainers EVER. No blisters, no soreness & above all, brilliant support & comfort throughout the duration of my run.I have to buy Brooks as over-pronate when running so they give me the right support my feet need, but I was delighted with these shoes this morning. Can't wait until the weekend to try them out again.

I don’t normally leave reviews. But I looked forward to reviewing these shoes. I have high arches and have a hard time running because of my knees and joints. But these shoes are fantastic. They’re super comfortable great to work out in and great to run in. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever owned. But again I do have high arches so I don’t know how they would be for people flat feet. But they fit me perfectly. I’ve run a few miles in these already and I have a 1/2 a dozen trips to the gym so far to lift weights. So far so good. My shoe size 13.5, so it’s hard to find the right fit. I would say these run about a half a size small so 14 was perfect for me.I wasn’t crazy about the color options but if you’re looking for a shoe that looks pretty good But more importantly is super comfortable these are them.

I bought this shoe because I thought it was a tennis shoe. It is not. It is an excellent running shoe. It does not give the extra lateral support that a tennis shoe needs but I have been wearing them to play tennis nonetheless. The shoes are extremely comfortable. I have a wide foot and to fit into the usual athletic shoe comfortably, I have in the past purchased a shoe ½ size larger than my foot. The box the fitted well but when playing tennis, I was aware that my foot was moving ever so little within the shoe. This shoe comes in a wide size so I bought exactly my size and the shoe fits great. The supportive insoles are not as supportive as the orthotics I usually wear (no surprise)so I switched them out for the orthotic insoles. This is an excellent, light, comfortable athletic shoe. I highly recommend it.

My shoe size is 13 4E. I had been running in NB's for many years but found in the past few years NB sizing standards have slipped into the unknown. I had to order 14 4E in NB and yet the toe box was still snug. Since I'm 67 yrs old, 6' 5" and 230 lbs, fit, cushion and comfort is paramount to me now. My old feet need all the help they can get and unfortunately NB's just didn't cut it anymore! But the Brooks GTS 19 came to the rescue! So far after a month of running in 19's the fit, cushion and comfort have been fantastic! The shoe is a true 13 4E and fits perfect to size. But what nails it for me is the true 4E width...Its so nice to have a shoe that my feet will give me a high five after every run :-)I'm now hoping the long term wear will match the fit and comfort.

I am extremely flat footed which has caused leg/calf/ankle problems/pains over the year. I am in law enforcement as well as I work as an armed security guard so i am on my feet A LOT.A Physical Therapist recommended these shoes due to the amount of support they give. They fit and feel EXTREMELY comfortable and are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. This is my 4th pair over a 4 year span so I average a pair per year. Considering how much I work out and work in/stand in a years time I feel they last very well. Each pair I actually keep and wear longer than a year. I just purchase a new pair each year. The oldest pair I have is 3 years old and use them to work in the yard and such.Highly recommend these shoes if your on your feet a lot.
