I was in Scotland over New Years and my full size 15 year old Asolo boot soles disintegrated and came away from the Vibram sole. They served me well. Can't fault the Asolo - worked out at less than £10 per year of use. So I had to buy some new boots... Technology has come a long way in 15 years. Read on... So, I decided on choosing some Mid heights as don't want to store 2 or 3 types of boots as I'm not going to need full boots now. I will now be mainly doing forest walks, hills, beaches/dunes, bogs, off piste walks, bit of scrambling and tundra if if season allows. I did a fair bit of research and you need to spend upwards of £75 to get in to the good territory. And yes,

Absolutely best boots that I ever had.I used them daily from autumn till spring, I'm making 15k+ steps and they are fantastic.At first I was a bit sceptical, but after a week of using them I absolutely love it.They were amazing during a winter trip to the Iceland.I will defo buy another pair as I damaged accidentally them at work.

I have already bought 2 pairs of the Salomon X Ultra Mid 2 GTX boots and they are as comfortable as trainers. I went for these boots just for a change and although they are good boots, they are not as comfortable as the Ultra Mid. I feel them a bit ' clumpy ' that's why I gave 4 stars

Too early for a review yet but after a week of use I can confirm the good quality and fit. In my case, the boots needed a little break-in, too -- the stiffness plus seams caused some discomfort and even pain for the first few days, today I didn't feel any of that already.

I got fed up of buying walking boots and shoes in high street discounters that never lasted and were never as waterproof as they were made out to be. These are sturdy but comfortable and I use them for dog walking on the roads and cross country.

Very comfortable footwear, a MID model some millimeters taller than others of the same brand. Soft insole on ORTHOLITE that slows down the appearance of bad odors. Impermeable by the Goretex membrane and with a sole with a lot of traction.

OMG, so comfortable straight out the box, really light. Do rub a little bit on the ankle not painfully but that's normal for new boots, they'll break in, they are narrow but I have narrow feet so perfect

Always order half size extra with salomon boots, apart from that you can't go wrong with salomon, used them for years and these were at a good price so a cheap back up air if my others get wet.

I've had a pair for about 4 or 5 years .Extremely comfortable and worn nearly every day . Just bought a replacement pair . Highly recommend

Very comfy boot to walk in and need no breaking in . Very narrow fitting and seem a half size down . . Not ideal for use on mud paths .

Great shoes with a comfortable shoe for the wide foot. Took to replace almost the same model, departing 5 years. I recommend.

Supportive at the heel with good arch support also, very comfortable and lightweight.. Perfect fit..
