The Eureka Swan comes well boxed with plenty of accessories. It takes 2 minutes to assemble without instruction manual reference. The battery slides onto the vacuum unit (this was the hardest part as it has to be slid from the very end to engage the runners) but once it's on, it shouldn't have to come off as it charges by plugging into the unit and not the battery which is much better. It comes with a screw in wall bracket which is optional to use and I have not been using it as I am happy to have the unit balancing in a cupboard. It comes with a long arm and a floor attachment with rotating heads and fairly measly LED lighting. The lights are a bit of a gimmick as they are not really bright enough to provide any meaningful illumination. The spinning brushes are great for hard floors but really not good for carpets as it pulls up a bit too much carpet for my liking. The floor attachment is also not very wide which adds to the time it takes to clean a floor - it could have been another 4cm wide which is a shame. It also comes with an sofa cleaning attachment, good for skirting boards etc. this has a retractable brush bit which is fairly standard. The floor cleaning attachment will plumb straight into the unit which is good for hoovering stairs and higher surfaces. The suction is OK - not great - and having used a Dyson cordless, I have sampled the best. This does pail a little in comparison as the suction is probably about half of that of the dyson but the pricetag is under 1/3 so it's not really a surprise. All in all, the build quality is OK - not fantastic. It is super-easy to use. Adequate but not amazing suction strength. The battery life is good - I have done the whole of the upstairs on a single charge with a remaining battery light pip telling me it was good for more - so that's not really an issue. The floor 'Hyperclean' attachment is too small and the rotating brush is a bit aggressive on newish carpets.I think you get what you pay for and for the pricetag, I think this is a good option.

Swan has opted to use recycled cardboard instead of polystyrene packaging, which is laudable, but they still manage to let the side down by using single-use plastic to wrap every single component, and for some odd reason, a wasteful anti-scuff film was applied to the battery. The parts all click into place easily and make assembly reassuringly straightforward. The battery needed just over three hours to take a full charge - there is a three bar power indicator on the handle), but it only gives you about 20 minutes of continuous use which isn't especially impressive.Accessories include a motorised head with led lighting (the lighting is nice for illuminating under furniture, but the option to switch this off might boost battery life a little), there is also a crevice and an upholstery tool. These can all connect directly to the nozzle on the motor, use you can use the pipe which lets us use it more like a traditional upright vacuum cleaner. The power button is a trigger inside the handle - it's easy to knock on or off accidentally, and whilst it's only a minor niggle, a rethink on the placement might be beneficial. With a full charge, the motorised head pulls forward almost by itself and takes some of the effort away from you when you're running over floors. Suction is fairly good on level surfaces and you'll see the dust filling the waste chamber quickly. It doesn't cope so well with uneven surfaces and you'll need to revert to the crevice tool deal with those and to get right into corners and edges. I found it easy to manoeuvre and lightweight enough to deal with cobwebs, curtains and stairs.Generally, I liked how this performed, and it seems well suited to light routine cleaning or dealing with crumbs after your visitors have gone home. You'll likely still need a more robust machine for deeper cleaning especially if you have deeper pile carpeting.

I hadn’t heard of the Eureka Swan brand before and I have to say that so far I am impressed. The unit comes well packed in a box that is as compact as you can expect. There is quite a bit of internal plastic packaging unfortunately. It is extremely easy to assemble with the main pieces just clicking together. There is a clear illustrated guide if you need it.The battery comes partly charged so you are ready to go as soon as it is assembled. I found it light and easy to manoeuvre and the swivel head makes it easy to get into, under and around tight gaps. Suction is strong and it cleaned up everything both on carpet and hard floor. It is also quieter than most in operation.I could still hear the TV when I was using it. As with most cleaners of this style, the main unit detaches to enable it to be used as a handheld, which gives it an advantage over, say, the Gtech where the handheld is sold separately.I would have liked a longer battery charge but that is par for the course for Lithium Ion vacuum cleaner batteries. Maybe the light on the base contributes to this. The light is handy for seeing under low tables for example but not essential. If you live in a large house, this is ideal to get out to clean up a spill or just to tidy up a room or two but you would probably want a corded vacuum to do a full clean. For a smaller place such as a flat, it is ideal, especially as the compact size (i.e. not as chunky as the Gtech) makes it easy to store in a cupboard. A wall mount is included as well If you require it.I am very impressed with the effectiveness and ease of use of this vacuum cleaner.

This vacuum doesn't have the power of a corded vacuum but it's handy for a quick once over of a floor that needs a quick hoover. To be honest it's not really that great for our house of 3 boys that doesn't get cleaned as often as it should. Battery life is short(ish), though I don't have much to compare it to. I manage to do two rooms and the stairs before it ran out. (Note: The nylon bristles of the brush I used on the stairs started to fray after one use, which isn't brilliant.)It changes between flooring types really easy and is easily light enough to suck down cobwebs, if necessary.Changing attachments and emptying the 'bag' is a doddle.I have mostly used it for a quick, jobs that then don't necessitate the unraveling of the flex and using the heavier cleaner, which actually means I probably use this one more, than my corded hoover. It's great, if you want to keep up with your dust and debris situation. Though in many ways this makes it little more than an expensive carpet sweeper. (Though a carpet sweeper than can do the stairs and the car if necessary). This is a great budget cordless vac. If you're on top of your vacuuming, it's probably all you'll need. If, like me, hoovering is one of the jobs that always moves to tomorrow's to do list. You may find that the Eureka Swan helps you tick it off the list today! (After an initial clean with a corded hoover!)

I’ve tested other lightweight vacuum cleaners and this is definitely my favourite. Everything about it is just a little bit better than the others I’ve tried:1. Slightly better suction, in my opinion.2. Charging levels clearer (blue lights giving an indication of how close to fully charged it is).3. Much easier to clean and empty. Like others it has a drop-down ‘door’ to release the dust - however, this cleaner also has the option to simply twist and remove the dust chamber so it can be emptied and rinsed, (this is great because these things always seem to get dust-clumps that are unreachable through the drop-down opening. The filter also lifts out and can be tap-washed.4. Finally, the long tube between the handle/motor and brush can be removed, then the brush head can be attached directly to the handle ... perfect for vacuuming stairs etc. The three pieces press/click apart quickly and easily. The additional fitments for upholstery and inside the car are also easy to interchange. If you’re looking for a vacuum cleaner that’s light enough for an elderly person to use, yet doesn’t compromise on power and user-friendly practicality, this is the one!

I have had a long list of hoovers over the years and had access previously to a more top end brand version of one of these. I can safely say that so far, I do in fact prefer this.It maintains it's charge for longer, it looks nicer and it is very durable in comparison. It fits together easily and even without instructions it is fairly obvious where things go (There were instructions, I just didn't use them!)The main hose is detachable easily enough too so that you can use the main unit as a hand held for the stairs and hall or for the car etc.Very easy to use and very nice. It is lovely not to have to mess about with plugs and getting it in and out. Even my 5 year old son is excited by this,he uses it to clean up his own mess too... a first for him believe me. Very handy, very easy and very nice.

I have quite a small home, 2 bed semi-detached, so I have wanted one of these small battery vacuum's for a while, and this is a pretty good fit for me.It is quite light and easy to use, and the 20 minute run time is perfectly adequate for the size of my house. The suction seems to be pretty good as well, and the motorised head seems to have decent power to it as well. The forward pointing led's are a nice touch.I put the stand on the wall in the cupboard under the stairs, and it does hold the vacuum in place very easily and when mounted it has quite a small footprint. You do get a couple of extra parts with the kit (crevice tool and upholstery tool) which seem to work fine, and the assembly of the unit in the first place is very easy.

Just clips together and the battery has a partial charge so you can get to try it straight away. After a 3.5 hour full charge you get up to 20 minutes use which for what we use it for is ideal (quick run round and grandchildrens mess) , this is a very light easy to use vacuum cleaner with lights on the front to get a look at those dark corners . It comes with a screw to the wall holder which is ok if you have a cupboard or garage to fit it to otherwise it will lean against the wall.
