Rest assured it's far nicer than Captain Morgan or Lambs, fine though they are. Super smooth, hints of maple syrup in the texture, hints of coffee and chocolate on the palette with a smidge of umami. All in all well worth a try if you can/or are prepared to afford it.Never more than one ice cube, 18-20C, the ice is only there for a hint of dilution, like the rules for single malt. Please use a wine glass to concentrate the aromas. This is beyond sip and savour, a drop or two will fill your mouth with flavour, comfort and well being. Swirl the not really diluted essence around your glass and inhale..... Mmmmmmm!This rum does NOT need mixing with anything and should a generous glass be available savour it slowly...

I'm normally a whisky drinker but I bought this as I had some rum drinking friends visiting. Wow, it's excellent!It has none of the coarseness or burnt sugar flavour of some rums. It is instead refined almost to the point of tasting like Armagnac but with more character.It won't convert me away from whisky but for a whisky drinker OR a brandy drinker, I strongly recommend that you try it. I will VERY happily finish off that first bottle and will be buying some more; not just for visitors but for me too.

This is a somewhat bizarre rum. My mum who loves rum whom I bought this for, didn't like it because it tasted too sweet.I as a bourbon drinker, kinda liked it.You can absolutely taste the bourbon which the rum were aged in, it adds a sort of sweetness with a touch of savoury.. Its not like demerarer rum, its kind of unique.If you like say Grants Sherry Cask Whiskey or similar, this should be high on your list, but ensure you like bourbon AND rum.

The planation series of Rum , of which there are several all from the same area, the Caribbean, are excellent Rum with slightly differing taste.This particular one is as good as it says on the bottle and I can recommend it to any person who enjoys a tot.This being the third bottle The Plantation Rums Series that I have personally had over the past year, I can highly recommend them all. first class product.

This was a 60th Birthday present for a good friend, who enjoys a rum or two. The feedback from him was that he really enjoyed it, never having tried this brand before, so much so that he asked where we got it, so that he can get some more! It was very smooth apparently. Came well packaged, and arrived promptly.

Entirely lacking the harshness of a typical Barbadian rum. Quite concentrated with a distinct hint of raisins and sweet to the extent that you might mistake it for a liquer. I wish Barbadian rum producers could do this in Barbados without having to send their rum away to France to be raised to such excellence.

This is up there with the award winning Ron Zacapa 23 priced around £45-£50..... saw this on Sunday brunch programme and the guy on there said its a beautiful rum....... wow, how right he was..... please do not drink this with any mixers...... just 1 ice cube,sip and enjoy.... you will not be disappointed.

I bought this rum as a gift for my sister and brother in law previously as they love the smooth flavour.We had it in Barbados and they usually buy it to bring home from there when they visit.This has been bought as part of their Christmas box so as of yet it's safely away until December.

Drink it straight. My single malt whisky drinking friend on sharing a glass with me promptly went online and bought themselves a bottle... then bought another after the first went. Why 4 Stars? Because there are better out there..... maybe not at this price though

got this for my moms birthday present , she absolutely loved it , she said the taste was amazing a bit towards the brandy side but great with coke. she had a few glasses durning the day she loved it would reccomend also came packaged beautifally

Attractive bottle and it does feel a bit special to drink, like its heritage or something. Not too harsh or dominating flavour. Quite easy to drink straight or over ice. Not sweet as I expected but preferred to Mount Gay XO Rum.

I’ve bought this rum a few years back and thought it was decent for a 5 year old.Saw it in Asda for £ 25 and I’ve bought it again.This is a nice rum, and at £ 25 a bit more affordable than the Amazon price.

Tried this briefly, was a good rum. Present for a friend who is now regretful that he brought the bottle out at a BBQ, went within an hour apparently, everyone seemed to enjoy it!

Well....bought 3 bottles, for me and two friends to take on a weekend away.. We drank very responsibly, cause they lasted until the Sunday! A fantastic Rum at a very fair price !

Beautiful Rum, VERY smooth taste and lovely flavours, with a short spicy afterburn. Sweet but not overly so. If this was not booze I could and sip on it all night .
