This bottle has changed its traditional oval shape tin bottle packing to a more cardboard Square and I think it adds a lot of class. Old Pulteney is a great glass neat and holds up with water or some gentle ice. This is a whisky I'd have absolutely no problem pulling out amongst my Whisky snob friends to get the evening going.Nose:- Sea air, salty, sweetness from the bourbon casks, little briney.Palate:- Smooth but a little challenging, this is approachable for experienced whisky drinkers or people who are having their first dram.

As a big consumer of Single Malt Whiskies, I found this Old Pulteney a treat. It is smoother than some of the other 12 years out there (Glenlivet which is hard to come across lately, Glenfiddich etc) and has flavours that remind me of the Arbelour 12 or even the Dalwhinnie 15 (!).It is not as expensive as some other similar highland single malt, and when the choice is between an unspecified vintage (such as latest Glenlivet's Founder's Reserve or Dalwhinnie Winter Gold) I suggets giving this Old Pulteney a go.

I'd lived in Wick for ten years and had always dismissed this as a sub standard whisky. Someone bought me a bottle and I begrudgingly accepted...If I were to attempt to describe the taste without resorting to pretentious nonsense I would say "it tastes like the smell of Wick Harbour". Salty air has permeated the whisky and while I now think it's one of the very best £25 bottles, I'm not sure it's for everyone. Try it though!

Currently awaiting delivery of my third bottle of Old Pulteney. If I'm honest, the first was bought because it was cheap and I fancied something different. I loved it, it's smooth and just gorgeous. Yes there is a certain "brininess" to it and I guess this may not be to everyone's taste... Jeez, at this price just get a bottle and try it - you're getting a 12 year old single malt for the price of a bottle of 3 year old blend!

A very popular Highland Dram, with banana and sweet citrus fruit notes alongside a faint whiff of brine.Tasting Notes:Appearance - Deep Amber, red golden (with a slight pink hue) sparkling with a copper glowAroma - Medium to high intensity with a briny hint of sea airPalate - Sweet, floral, citrus: lemon and lime plus dry banana skin. Smooth and faintly salty

I must confess that the Old Pulteney is a distillery I have fallen in love with having visited it in 2018 and since then have considered their 12 year old my go to house whisky. At £24 a bottle this was a bargain. Would buy all day long at that price, however thoroughly recommend it even at it's normal RRP. It's a fantastic whiskey yet relatively unknown.

A Pretty good single malt, is my opinion from light drinker whose usual tipple is Black Label. I bought it as it was on offer and am glad with the purchase. I had seen reviews where one described it as salty, but I could not taste the salt at all and I have very little salt on my food.

I was introduced to Old Pulteney by a friend who occasionally works in Scotland. Unfortunately I couldn't find it down here in England. Finding this was a great little bonus. I'll pass this find on to a couple of friends, whom I know will be as delighted as me. Slàinte.

Coming from a man who loves Mortlach 21yrs, GlenDronach, Imeperials and Highland Parks, this one was a real surprise - love the salty notes and the lingering vanilla, fruity notes... Excellent whisky for a bottle so cost effective!

A stunningly good value for money 12 year old single malt. Has a superb sea salt and caramel / toffee after taste. its now become my fave scotch, just coming in trumps over Bowmore 12, (but not the 18)

As usual an excellent product. Have been drinking this for years and Amazon have fast delivery meaning I could get my drink quicker! Also advise trying a glass with a dash of American Dry Ginger.

Easy to drink, sweet and smooth, great as a go to dram, but not significant that makes it break apart from the rest...good to get when on a good deal (varies between 25 and 36)

Love it. Smooth taste that lingers just long enough between a need to refresh.I enjoyed reading the history and location. Being educated on the shape the bottle is brilliant.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas, he was really pleased with it, I was slightly cautious about it coming in the post, but it was very well packed and arrived safely.
