Update: I have now tried the Wild Turkey: Rye Whisky and its delicious. The spices and extra flavours you get from this drink is great and I recommend it 100%. The flavours are unique and different compared to your regular bourbons, and for this being my first Rye whiskey, it has opened my eyes to the world of Rye and I will be trying more in the future!Wild Turkey, I did somehow have high expectations from this bourbon purely because of the reviews I read on here but I wanted to try it for myself and see what it was all about.It's not up to much, sadly. It tastes like bourbon that's for sure. But I don't get any other flavours at all compared to bourbons such as Four Roses' Single Barrel,

Wow! This stuff packs a punch! It's definitely the strongest tasting bourbon I've tried to date, the others including Buffalo Trace, Four Roses yellow label, Woodford Reserve, Elijah Craig, Evan Williams 1783, Knob Creek, Eagle Rare, Makers Mark....Of those the nearest to it in strength is Knob Creek IMO, and this is just as fantastic a drink as that is. So long as you don't mind the kick that comes with it, although I suspect if you're drinking Kentucky Straight whiskey then you won't mind that too much ;)I had previously tried it's watered down brother, the Wild Turkey 81, which although works great in a bourbon and coke is left lacking somewhat as a stand alone drink IMO,

I’ve been drinking the bird for 25 yrs and if you’ve never tried wild turkey then do so right now ! it’s the Real deal .I could go on about the high rye that it states on the bottle, it’s actually a 13% rye mash mill which really isn’t that high compared to other bourbons, and for the spice that you get and the complex flavours its just balanced perfectly.But what I will advise is sip it neat or with ice, this is blended with aged whiskey and demands respect.Theres no fancy decanter style bottle that looks good in your drinks cabinet made to kid the consumer that your drinking a better whiskey. But real whiskey drinkers don’t care about all that trash.my only other advice is that its strong

As a fan of Wild Turkey 101 and also Four Roses single barrel I had been looking forward to trying a new bourbon and this one popped up at an amazing price on an Amazon deal.Although due to the deal popularity causing the item to sell out I was still fortunate enough to order one at the offer price to be delivered when back in stock.It finally arrived today so I poured a glass over a nice large ice ball and sat down for a little drink.It has met and exceeded my expectations. I personally find this superior to my bottle of Four Roses. Although it is 56.4% alcohol (barrel strength - no watering down)

This is a lovely whisky. I had bought both regular Wild Turkey and also the 101 during the Black Friday sales. I had not tried either before buying. The regular wild turkey is not that nice. You can drink it. But I would say save your money and buy this instead. It just feels slightly harsh. Which suggests its a very young whiskyThis one, however, is one of the few whisky's I have tried that immediately after sipping I have said to myself "damn that's nice" and just got an orgasmic rush of how nice it tasted. This is definitely up there with Four Roses and Woodford Reserve as the best bourbons you can get.If I had to scale them I would put Four Roses first,

This is a superb bourbon, make no mistake about that.I usually much prefer single malt's to bourbon's, but this will definitely work its way in to my regular rotation. I've had Wild Turkey 101 before, and i think i do prefer that ever so slighlty because it's stronger (50.5% to the 40.5% here) so it provides slightly more heat. But for having a couple of neat drinks at home on a friday night, this is perfect. It's easy to drink, has a bit of heat to it, and a very smooth after taste.In my humble opinion i would say this is potentially the best bourbon out there at the moment. Wild Turkey have a fantastic range so you can't go wrong with any of them.Do not mix this, or any!, decent whiskey with coke!

My second favourite bourbon after the outstanding Woodford Reserve, this has more rye in the mash and, paired with the 50.5% ABV, results in a drink with a real peppery uppercut delivered alongside the more typical honeyed and floral notes of what I consider a good bourbon. It will also put you on your back very quickly if you don't treat it with respect - that extra 5-10% on a typical whiskey really adds up if you have a few! This is easily one of the best whisk(e)ys of any variety available for around £25, so don't ruin this by mixing it improperly; even an ice cube waters down the flavours to an unpalatable degree. If you fancy yourself a bourbon drinker then this needs to be one of the early stops on your journey. Wild Turkey is a fantastic distillery and the 101 has all the fantastic characteristics of a great bourbon without the hefty price tag of something like bookers 7.Honestly I love buying from this distillery not just because of the quality but also for their pro-consumer outlook. The texture is “chewy” and with 50.5% abv it doesn’t leave you wanting more. In addition if you enjoy mixing your whiskey this is also a good choice due to it’s availability. I personally like drinking whiskey neat and this is by no means the best bourbon I’ve had but at this price point it is a clear winner and even

Very nice barrel strength bourbon, in my opinion a step up from the 101 variation. Not for the faint hearted due to it's 56.4% vol from no watering down (as per standard manufacturing methods). Despite it's high alcohol contents, it is smooth sipping drink and goes down without burning, just a nice warm feeling.Rich, full flavoured texture, with a slight sweet and spicy aftertaste of fruit without being overpowering/sickly.Would certainly recommend as a drink but four stars given based on often higher than others priceI hope this review helped you. I'm normally a Single Malt Scotch Whisky guy but recently felt that I needed to broaden my horizons for my every day sipping whisk(e)y. I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised, having recently tried Jim Beam I can categorically say this has a more rounded flavour and smoother to drink straight. Being a bourbon it certainly has a sweet note but without being sweet. It has a nice oaky caramel/toffee nose which I found pleasant. I've nearly finished the bottle and it will most certainly be replenished as it fits the bill for an everyday sipping whiskey. It won't replace a good quality single malt but it holds its own and I'll be trying some more bourbons off the back of this.Happy

After having a holiday to Las Vegas back in 2014 with a friend, whilst sat at the High Rollers Bar of The Luxor Hotel, the Bar Tender ("Casey" at the time, great guy!) asked us what we normally like to drink... We Suggested stuff like Jack Daniels and Coke.... To which his eye lit up, and Suggested Wild Turkey... but he mentioned about the different strengths available... 71, 81 and 101... Obviously we went straight to the 101 as we're P***Heads... and boy did it blow our minds after a couple..... We love the stuff, and even more so after it came widely available in the UK since about 2016... I love that Marstons stock it so I can get it in work too!

I am not a very experienced Bourbon or Whisk(e)y drinker. The Bourbon's I have tried are Eagle Rare 10 - great, and Woodford Reserve - yuck (too sweet), this was a different experience again. I noticed the extra proof immediately and felt tipsy from the first sip, I had been intending to also open Rare Breed at the same time, but decided I did not dare. I sipped this neat at room temperature and it was good stuff. But the extra strength means that I do not feel this would be a good social whiskey, if I were drinking with friends I would rather open the Eagle Rare.The taste I think I would describe as "a warm fire side in a log cabin".

With most ryes clocking in at £30 plus, for £21.99 on offer I had to give this a try and I'm really glad I did, this is fantastic stuff. From a Wild Turkey rye I was ready for a knockout punch but they've gone the other way. It's not at all what I was expecting ... subtle, smooth, creamy on the palette and dry on the finish, with lots of yummy vanilla and spice flavours quietly going on.... it's a really accessible and unusual rye and a really good one too. I think I got myself a steal here. It would be a very good rye at full whack let alone a bargain price. Be very interested now to try the 101 rye they make too...

A seriously good high-rye bourbon; rich, spicy and punchy. Way better than the regular version. A different drink. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. People praise it for good reason, but it won't be to everyone's taste, especially if you like your bourbon mid and mellow. It's double the intensity of things like Buffalo Trace or Bulleit. After the initial sweetness you get a long, spicy, peppery rye finish. There's not much else in this price range to compare it to flavour-wise. It's much tougher than Woodford Reserve or Eagle Rare. Reminds me of Rittenhouse but it's a tenner cheaper. Great value for money.
