I’ve been drinking the bird for 25 yrs and if you’ve never tried wild turkey then do so right now ! it’s the Real deal .I could go on about the high rye that it states on the bottle, it’s actually a 13% rye mash mill which really isn’t that high compared to other bourbons, and for the spice that you get and the complex flavours its just balanced perfectly. But what I will advise is sip it neat or with ice, this is blended with aged whiskey and demands respect.Theres no fancy decanter style bottle that looks good in your drinks cabinet made to kid the consumer that your drinking a better whiskey. But real whiskey drinkers don’t care about all that trash.my only other advice is that its strongand if your not careful it’ll knock your socks off and keep you coming back for more ...enjoy and drink responsibly ...I bet you’ll buy again and again just like me .

This is a lovely whisky. I had bought both regular Wild Turkey and also the 101 during the Black Friday sales. I had not tried either before buying. The regular wild turkey is not that nice. You can drink it. But I would say save your money and buy this instead. It just feels slightly harsh. Which suggests its a very young whiskyThis one, however, is one of the few whisky's I have tried that immediately after sipping I have said to myself "damn that's nice" and just got an orgasmic rush of how nice it tasted. This is definitely up there with Four Roses and Woodford Reserve as the best bourbons you can get.If I had to scale them I would put Four Roses first, the Wild Turkey 101 second and Woodford Reserve third and Bulleit fourth of the best bourbons I have tried.Definitely, buy this. Skip the regular Wild Turkey.

My second favourite bourbon after the outstanding Woodford Reserve, this has more rye in the mash and, paired with the 50.5% ABV, results in a drink with a real peppery uppercut delivered alongside the more typical honeyed and floral notes of what I consider a good bourbon. It will also put you on your back very quickly if you don't treat it with respect - that extra 5-10% on a typical whiskey really adds up if you have a few! This is easily one of the best whisk(e)ys of any variety available for around £25, so don't ruin this by mixing it improperly; even an ice cube waters down the flavours to an unpalatable degree. That said,it's the best basis for an Old Fashioned that I know of as the strong flavours still shine through.

If you fancy yourself a bourbon drinker then this needs to be one of the early stops on your journey. Wild Turkey is a fantastic distillery and the 101 has all the fantastic characteristics of a great bourbon without the hefty price tag of something like bookers 7.Honestly I love buying from this distillery not just because of the quality but also for their pro-consumer outlook. The texture is “chewy” and with 50.5% abv it doesn’t leave you wanting more. In addition if you enjoy mixing your whiskey this is also a good choice due to it’s availability. I personally like drinking whiskey neat and this is by no means the best bourbon I’ve had but at this price point it is a clear winner and evenbeats more expensive bottles.

I'm normally a Single Malt Scotch Whisky guy but recently felt that I needed to broaden my horizons for my every day sipping whisk(e)y. I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised, having recently tried Jim Beam I can categorically say this has a more rounded flavour and smoother to drink straight. Being a bourbon it certainly has a sweet note but without being sweet. It has a nice oaky caramel/toffee nose which I found pleasant. I've nearly finished the bottle and it will most certainly be replenished as it fits the bill for an everyday sipping whiskey. It won't replace a good quality single malt but it holds its own and I'll be trying some more bourbons off the back of this.HappyDrinking!

I am not a very experienced Bourbon or Whisk(e)y drinker. The Bourbon's I have tried are Eagle Rare 10 - great, and Woodford Reserve - yuck (too sweet), this was a different experience again. I noticed the extra proof immediately and felt tipsy from the first sip, I had been intending to also open Rare Breed at the same time, but decided I did not dare. I sipped this neat at room temperature and it was good stuff. But the extra strength means that I do not feel this would be a good social whiskey, if I were drinking with friends I would rather open the Eagle Rare. The taste I think I would describe as "a warm fire side in a log cabin".

A seriously good high-rye bourbon; rich, spicy and punchy. Way better than the regular version. A different drink. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. People praise it for good reason, but it won't be to everyone's taste, especially if you like your bourbon mid and mellow. It's double the intensity of things like Buffalo Trace or Bulleit. After the initial sweetness you get a long, spicy, peppery rye finish. There's not much else in this price range to compare it to flavour-wise. It's much tougher than Woodford Reserve or Eagle Rare. Reminds me of Rittenhouse but it's a tenner cheaper. Great value for money.

One of the best in my opinion, not too sickly or sweet and the taste of whisky isn't overpowered but complimented by the honey. Really hard to find this in the supermarkets so I was delighted to spot it on Amazon. It arrived quickly enough and was very well packaged. Be warned you have to provide proof of age when they deliver it, they insist even when you're obviously a lot older than the legal age limit (my other half was sporting a beard and is quite clearly never going to see twenty again but they still insisted they see his driving license!!!). But don't let that put you off, it's delicious!

Rye should be smooth yet peppery, firey and complex. This is light, easy to drink and one dimensional.Too weak for a good cocktail (Old Fashioned is my go to). Better neat. On the rocks waters it down too easily. Now that's out of the way. Very smooth and easy to drink. Subtle spice, pepper and sweetness from creamy butterscotch. One for the daily drinker who doesn't want to over do it. For the money, it's outstanding. As a drinkers drink, it's lacking.Would I buy again? Absolutely. At circa £25 it's a good whiskey, great for suppin' neat when you fancy a drink but don't want to over do it.

Let's start at the lower end. Wild Turkey; don't even bother, unless you want to make an old fashioned. Wild Turkey 101; an absolute definite every day drink. Full of flavour and character and at a reasonable price, especially for the quality. Longbranch; for the extra money, it is disappointing. Save some money and buy 101, or..........buy Rare Breed!!!! Rare Breed might lighten your wallet a little bit more, but the quality is impressive. After the initial hit of recognising it is strong, it suddenly mellows to this remarkable, smooth finish. So easily drinkable, I have to say I am hooked.

I like bourbon almost as much as I like Scotch. I've often had a Wild Turkey in my cabinet but thought I'd give this a punt for a change. I have to say it's a world of difference. Mellow, rich in flavour...and despite being even stronger than 101, it somehow manages to have less nose burn. I've not tried Long branch yet - and frankly if I did, it would onltpy be because I like the bottle - but I'll never buy standard Turkey or even the 101 again; this is well worth forking out the extra for in my opinion, even if it means you drink it slightly less often!

I wish I had been introduced to Wild Turkey sooner as they really make a fine whiskey - particularly at the price point. The Rye member of the flock is a fine addition to my home bar.Lovely peppery notes and makes a hell of a Manhattan.I quite enjoy Rye with Cola on occasion and this one did not disappoint.I prefer to have this with ice rather than neat, but that’s just my own preference.Lovely bottle design and Amazon does a solid price for the Rye bird.Definitely worth getting into your home bar line up for the Manhattans alone.

Very nice Whiskey; my Grandfather told me this was his favorite when he lived in Canada and used to visit the states so I decided to try a bottle. At 101 proof the first glass nearly blew my head off so it deserves respect if you have not tried it before. I have quite a collection of American Whiskeys now but find myself reaching for this one as a favorite. Jack Daniels tastes like sugar water after this! Wild Turkey is very satisfying and warming and full of flavour. Very well packaged and delivered quickly from Amazon.

This stuff is definitely not for the faint hearted! Prior to trying I'd stated that WT 101 packed the biggest punch I'd ever felt in a bourbon, well this has certainly taken that crown! It needs to be treat with care IMO, after taking my first sip I was delighted by the taste, leading to my next sip being more like a gulp which almost blew the back of my throat right out! However when handled carefully the spectacular nature of this bourbon shines through, it's amazing stuff. A must try for all bourbon enthusiasts.
