I never thought I particularly liked rhubarb until I realised that this is one of the primary ingredients in Aperol. This explains the slight bitterness to the taste and it is what makes Aperol (brand owned by the makers of Campari) so distinctive. I suspect that many Brits like me first came across Aperol whilst on holiday in Italy. In my case it was around ten years ago in Tuscany when I noticed that just about every Italian was drinking a certain orange coloured cocktail that caught the light in the square in San Gimignano making them look very stylish and sophisticated. I gesticulated to the waiter and told him "I'll 'ave one o' them per favore" pointing at the Armani wearing couple at the next table. He told me it was Aperol Spritz, a mixture of Aperol, prosecco (Italian champagne), a dash of soda water, a slice of orange and some ice. And it cost ten euros even back then. You can now buy a whole bottle of Aperol for a tenner in the UK and mix it with some cheap prosecco (no need for fancy stuff) and make your own (don't bother with the soda water). And it is lovely and you can pretend you are somewhere exotic like Sienna or Cortona rather than your back yard. SalutI!

This is the real deal. If you've never had Aperol before, it's a slightly bitter Italian liqueur that's a necessary ingredient for an Aperol Spritz.I desperately missed my favourite cocktail while in quarantine and Aperol was out of stock in our local Sainsbury's, so I started ordering it from Amazon instead. It's the real deal, full taste, and at a great price.Instructions for an Aperol spritz (I also add a piece of orange peel for an extra kick):Ingredients- ice- 100ml Aperol- 150ml prosecco- soda, to top upPut a couple of cubes of ice into 2 glasses and add a 50 ml measure of Aperol to each. Divide the prosecco between the glasses and then top up with soda, if you like.

Like a lot of people out there I've got a real liking for Aperol Spritz over the last year and more. Im not a big fan of sweet cocktails but I find Aperol spritz isn't very sweet. Unfortunately it's very easy for my to drink it. Haha. It's a prosecco based cocktail. I'm not a big fan of p to prosecco or Champagne (I know how strange!). But regardless Aperol spritz tastes great. To make it you have to mix 50:50 of prosecco and Aperol spritz, then just top up with soda water, ice and orange slices for garnish.

Writing this review I am already salivating thinking about how delicious my Aperol Spritz are! The sweet-yet slightly bitter flavour is great to have on a warm day, or just about any day actually. I present my favourite recipe that I picked up from a great restaurant I used to work at;2 Part Aperol2 Part BRUT Prosecco (Must be Brut)Orange peel, slightly heated with a lighter & twistedSoda water 0.5-1 part (depending on how you like it)Orange supremeLots of iceUpvote if you tried and liked!

In the part of Italy where my wife's family come from you don't ask for an Aperol Spritz, just a "Spritz" - if it is not made with Aperol then you are being ripped off. In the Veneto it is traditional for many people to stop off at a bar for a quick drink on their way home. The choice of drinks is limited - either a Prosecco, a glass of wine, or a Spritz. While we are living in the UK this makes us feel a bit closed to "home".

I couldn't find Campari at a reasonable price, so chose this as a "second best!" Couldn't be bothered with faffing about with Prosecco and Soda, so just shoved it to the back of the cupboard.Well, long story short.........In a tall glass, about half an inch (one finger high) of APEROL, top up with GINGER ALE!OMG that is nice! Just bought another bottle! Mwah ha ha! Chin Chin me maties.....hic burp cha cha cha

Aperol is a lovey drink any time of the year and I would definitely recommend it. It's lovely served with ice, Prosecco and a dash of sparkling water and garnished with a slice of orange. Please make sure you have your ID when the Aperol is delivered. Unfortunately the courier took my order away as I didn't have any ID with me to prove I was over 18. I am in fact 61 years old - I must aging very well!

I specifically chose this as the alcohol content was clearly listed as being 15% so the 1litre @ £20 15% was better value than from a supermarket which sells 11% alcohol content.Imagine my disappointment then when I opened the packaging to find that the bottle I received is only 11% just like those from the supermarket. Could have just bought it next time I went shopping.I’ve been conned.

One should always have the ingredients for an Aperol Spritz to hand (assuming one enjoys the odd cocktail but I don’t imagine this will be read by those who don’t drink alcohol).Amazon’s price is usually competitive and with Prime delivery we save on the fuel we would use to go into town for such purchases.Recently discovered by chance that Aperol is rather nice in its own!

Drink as follows:1 Part Aperol1 Part Wine, (dry)1 Part Soda waterSlice of orange & iceVery nice and unusual taste - very popular in Italy. (If you like Campari; I think you may like this),Little bit expensive in the UK, (I think due to it not being that popular here), but having searched the internet; buying a pack of 6 seems to be the cheapest way of doing it.

I had aperol spritz a lot on holiday and so I had to buy a bottle for myself! It’s a really nice summery drink, great with prosecco on a hot day! It’s very refreshing, citrusy and light depending on how you serve it - though it is a Italian wine I would never have it neat!I also found that Amazon did the best price as opposed to getting it at the supermarket!

Nothing can't beat a cold aperol spritz on a hot summer day and for the price I don't mind to have it in winter as well. Might as well stock up for the summer as the price of this will be a lot more during summer months. For those who haven't tried this Italian favourite cocktail, just look up aperol spritz cocktail. It's easy to make and well worth the try.

What a drink. I've always known about spritz but it took a recent trip to Bologna in Italy (a place I highly recommend) I became hooked. This is the cheapest price I have found it, including all the big supermarkets. For best results split 50/50 with a good quality Italian prosecco, top up with some soda water and add an orange slice or lemon. Enjoy!

Yes, the recipe is on the bottle and if you're still not sure, google it! A lovely drink and any sparkling wine will do really, you don't need a top of the range prosecco to make this taste great.Plenty of ice and sunshine, for preference.A great-tasting drink that makes you think of Italy, summer and the Med.Great price too.
