I'm certainly not a whisky (or whiskey if it's the Irish equivalent) connoisseur (if there's such a thing), but I have had numerous drams, whether it be Single Malts (of different ages), Blended Whiskies (of different ages), or Blended Malts (I haven't had just grain whisky), and ultimately I go off personal taste (as does everybody) and mood (since some drams taste better or worse depending on your mood, as with most other things in life). I do like a peaty whisky, which tend to be on the Islay persuasion. In fact, when I'm in the mood, my favourite all time whisky is probably 'Ardbeg 10 Years Islay Single Malt', which is beautiful both on the nose and pallette. Just ample amounts of smooth, smoky, peats. Now, I like other all different kind drams from different parts of the world, including some of the budget ones from Aldi and Lidl. In fact, I've sampled a 10 year old Single Malt Irish Whiskey, aged in Bourbon barrells, from Lidl, for the first time today - simply beautiful, especially for the sub-£20 price tag.Anyway, this is a review of the 'Johnnie Walker Black Label 12 Years'. It's a blended whisky, which means it contains both malts and grain whiskies combined, but all a minimum of 12 years aged as indicated by the age statement. And I must say, it is probably the finest affordable blended whisky available. Please note, that the operative word is affordable. No doubt, there will be better blends on the market, but at a more premium asking price (such as the 'Blue', 'Green', and 'Double Black' labels, yet untried by myself). But for £20, which 'Black Label's often retails for on a discount, this is fine stuff. Predominantly smoky on both the nose and pallette, but also very smooth as well. If you like peaty and smoky whisky but haven't tried this, then it's worth a punt for the price. The best affordable blend available in my opinion.

Johnnie Walker Black Label, ordered this after being told that it was of a higher standard than its red label counterpart (sorry red label fans, i didn't much care for said bottle) bottle arrived quickly and on time, came in the presentation box pictured and, as is 80% of the time, undamaged and with no issues.Onto the drink itself, if i was looking for a drink to compare to i could take The Black Grouse, a higher end version of its more mainstream counterpart, at a similar price and advertised to be a peaty and smokey whisky, the comparison, for me at least, is a fair one. What's good to note is this is aged unlike The Black Grouse, at least 12 years, which is something i did not realise when purchasing the bottle.Black Label starts off quite sweet and relatively complex in flavour, the peatiness and smoke arrive in the after taste which is light and not very lengthy whereas with Black Grouse the smoke and peatiness is ever present and gives rise to a longer aftertaste. It really does depend what you're looking for in a whisky, certainly i found this Black Label exceptionally easy to drink but then you notice its almost all gone and have to go out and buy a new bottle.

I like the product. Needless to describe it as it is a very well known product. What I would like to review here is the Amazon (or its 3rd party courier) delivery.I understand this is a restricted item (alcoholic) and it requires proof of age. As in other physical and online retailers, common sense prevails. If you don't look underage, no one asks you a proof of ID/age.Not with Amazon though. No. My wife, over 40, was demanded a photo ID upon delivery to prove she was not under 21!She thought it was a prank and was wondering where the TV camera was...Proof of ID for an over 40? Seriously?Next time I will order another one, so my dad can collect it. I will record it and put it online: He is 86!Mind you, an senior proving he is not underage to collect a bottle of whisky!

My Grandad is a big whisky fan, so I usually buy him a bottle of Jack Daniels for his birthday. But Amazon had this on their daily deals at a great price, so I had to get it!The bottle comes in a very nicely designed tin and the bottle does look expensive. There is a hole in the top of the tin where the top of the bottle peeps through with "12 years old" written on it.The item was packaged great, wrapped very tightly in a supersized bubblewrap. You could have thrown it on the floor and it would have remained unbroken, the packaging was that good (not actually tested this).I would recommend this as a gift for any whiskey lover, or if you want to spend a bit more, amazon sell some slightly more extravagant Johnny Walker bottles of whiskey.

I'll be the first to admit I am novice in the world of whisky, having tried jack daniels and jameson I wanted to try something new and get involved a lot deeper. After reading reviews and also based on price point I decided to try johnnie walker Black label. I can comfortably say that this whisky is an 8/10 and is now my new favourite. Just to put it into context jameson was my go to, my last bottle lasted me a whole year as I am not much of a drinker, johnnie walker 70cl has lasted me 1 month I have enjoyed it that much. I highly recommend this as a beginner whisky if you want to delve deeper into the fascinating world of whisky.

bought this when on ,todays deals , at bargain price and arrived on time . well packaged and in presentation box . can,t comment on taste due to an unfortunate chemical accident at work ,but i do appreciate the initial warmth on the tongue and the satisfying smoothness slipping down the throat ending with the explosion of that beautiful heat in the stomach warming the whole body . i cannot get a whoosh of woodyness or peaty notes , or apples or roses as my nose is only for breathing or sneezing , but if i can get such pleasure without a sense of taste i can assure you you,re in for a treat .

I bought this for my partner as a birthday present and honestly had no idea what I was looking for! I knew that he had previously tried Red Label and really enjoyed it, but then took the leap of trying Lagavulin straight after (Again another clueless present from myself) and although he enjoyed that, the intense smokiness of it was overpowering. When I read that this only had a hint of bonfire flavour, I thought it may be a nice happy medium. He's told me that it was a great find, easy to drink without being overpowering and that it will definitely be repurchased!

I always buy this scotch from this seller. Its really good scotch for the money, i always pay only £20 with normal delivery and it comes in like two days! Ordered on a wednesday it came friday, they always ship it to you really fast. This is great because if you need it for a special occasion you dont need to pay for fast delivery and can rely on it arriving it two days. I am not a whisky enthusiast or a connoisseur but from my point of view the scotch itself is of very good quality and tastes lovely and for £20 its amazing value.

Perfect if you like blends with a touch of smoke but nothing too overwhelming. Very balanced, great for sipping and one of the best bangs for your buck on the market. I have very rarely met anyone who didn't appreciate this offering even among those more interested in single malts or not particularly fond of branding. Double black is also worth a try if you want something a little more muscular but the 12YO Black Label remains a must have in my collection.

I bought this as a gift and it arrived well packaged. However I was unable to get it delivered directly to the recipient who lives in Northern Ireland. I think this is because of post-Brexit border controls and may be a temporary issue. I had to get it sent to me first (I live in London) and then sent it via the Post Office to NI. So ended up paying a few quid extra and taking longer, but I guess it was nice that I could wrap it like a proper present!

Item arrived quickly and delivery driver left it in a secure location as I was not home at the time.Johnnie walker is a brand known to all whisky lovers, personal one of my favourites. Item came nicely packaged in a box.The taste is quite smooth and you don't get that rough burn that most other whisky gives you. Recommended as a starter whisky for anyone looking to indulge into the world of whisky

Simply the best of the Johnnie Walker series. I've tried a number of blends, from monkey shoulder to famous grouse and this number, along with spice tree (compass box) will remain the staple scotch tipples in my household. at the price point, it's completely unbeatable. perfect nose, smooth caramel, the best of an islay and the best of a deep rich speyside in one bottle. What more can you ask for!

An excellent Scotch at a great price. I'm not a huge fan of scotch in general, but this is has a lovely smooth taste, that isn't overpowering, and leaves your mouth with a great warmth. The taste is excellent on the pallet when tasting, and the aftermath is not only warm, but flavourful. Goes VERY well with some high cocoa chocolate. (Lindt 70% is my recommendation).

Well worth buying when it's on discount, which seems to be pretty regular on Amazon. Somewhat smokey, has sweet overtones and I can certainly taste grain on the finish. Good drinking whisky for when you're not looking for a major malt moment. When it's at the standard price, however, one can easily find superior single malts that are better value than Black Label.
