I always believed that I'd never taste a better whisky than Blue Label.......BUT.......Johnnie Walker King George V really is mind blowing. The biggest difference is the length of the finish. It just goes on and on and on. And it just seems more powerful that anything else as it hits the palate. Although it's crazily expensive, I'm so glad I've had the privilege of experiencing this stuff. It really does have a wow factor that no other whisky I've tasted has got. Is it worth the money? Who knows.

A friend poured me a glass of this and what a treat it was to be able to taste it. Not something I could personally afford but I would love to have this again and again. I could imagine drinking this at the end of a very decadent dinner party, wearing my black tie and sitting in a leather chair. You want to savour the taste and you have a slightly smokey finish to the whiskey. If you can afford such a bottle please buy it and invite me round for a drink. I love this drink.

Considering this is £603 at my local Bargain Booze, I snapped up a rare bottle of Johnnie Walker King George V in a flash! Result!Flavour-wise, it doesn’t get much better than this. In terms of sheerness, I haven’t had sheerer! Minor criticism: it’s not as thick as it could be, but you can’t have everything, can you? When I drink a good whisky, I want it to be like drinking malty crude oil. So yeah...But, for a monkey (plus change), this is champion!

This whisky is fantastic. I say that, having tried someone else's and not having laid out the £400+ required to determine that it is fantastic. From my vantage point, this is a great whisky. It has both a peaty and a smokey taste, which is often unusual, and it works very well. it goes down smoothly and the taste remains on your pallet for longer than any whisky I've had. What is more, the heritage of this whisky is compelling.

If you're expecting something super smooth do not buy this. But let's face it, for this price who'd want something easy drinking. Fiery, challenging, smoky like a Talisker but with a longer lasting finish and warm apricot, it is truly a privilege to have tried this. Just be sure to drink all your friend's supply first. And if you're quibbling over the price, look at it as an investment piece - it's only going to get rarer.

Very nice, as well it should be for this price - smooth, deep taste, some smoke, complex and lush - BUT really think it's overpriced for a blend and perhaps says more about the power of Johnnie Walker's marketing people than the quality of the whiskies themselves

Very intense and fiery apricots, smoked cedar and sandalwood - I have not tasted many whiskies of this calibre before (actually none), but the concentration and length of flavours is immense

make sure you use genuine branded mixer, as I found that the 'essentials' cola made it go cloudy
