I'm not a Whisky connoisseur but I own a different range of whiskeys from blends , single malts... Blue label is one of the most smooth whiskeys I've ever drank before, but if you are looking for a cheaper option and yet with good quality I'd recommend the Green Label...Don't get me wrong, the Blue Label is great and with a nice smell but I wouldn't pay the retail price of 144£(current on Whiskey Exchange), I just bought it on Black Friday (with a nice discount on top of it).It is a good whiskey to have it at home, to make you feel special, to make you feel like you have your sh** together, not gonna lie, it had a nice psychological effect just by owning it.

So I read the reviews and tbh this whiskey has got a lot of stick for being overpriced.Let’s get that issue out of the way right now, yes it is expensive but when you consider the blends that I would put this up against it really isn’t imo.I’ve had some of the best (my favourite being hibiki 17-21) and I can tell you now Blue Label is right up there with the best.Straight up there’s an immediate big peat for me that I didn’t expect but welcomed nonetheless, I have to say I was drinking this in a large glass but as soon as I swapped to a smaller tulip glass the peat subsided and a more caramel/coffee taste started to come through, beautiful.If you want to put this on ice go right ahead as that’s when it becomes its most subtle,

Condition:Bottle clip on the inside was broken as seen in many other reviews. Shame really considering the price. Could be looked after better by Amazon.Value:I would say the whisky is more of a £60-80 value in terms of flavour and notes. It doesn't really have the sense of rarity with how readily available it is, however, this is still a very nice whisky and worth trying. I'm happy to have this in my collection and will drink it slow but personally I feel that Green Label is better.Giftable?:Yeah, would be a nice gift as presentation is lovely but unless the gifted person really knows their whisky,

What a treat, bought for me by my wife as a birthday present which happens to be today, she has made this a very special birthday for me! I have the Gold, Green and Platinum labels by Johnnie Walker as I am a fan of their blends, each of them have their own characteristics and stunning flavours, with an ice cold glass of water in a separate glass to wash out the pallet, all the flavours come alive. This blend made to the 1869 recipe has a wonderful deep taste made with great care to be treasured. If all your after is a whisky to get drunk on the stock to the Red or Black labels, if you want a whisky to savour, enjoy and really appreciate then spend the extra and go for it,

Lovely tasting whiskey but far to expensive (at full RRP I wouldn't even consider it) only shame is the new box is absolute crap. My previous bottle came with a silk lining befitting such a high priced item that held the bottle very snugly, roll on to 2015 and it comes with a painted gold backdrop and a peice of plastic (that is supposed to hold the bottle in place at the top) that was already snapped on delivery. I glued it back in but I had to check that the bottle was authentic as the packaging is so poor compared to my original bottle several years ago. I can confirm it is legit and not Amazons fault, thats just how they come these days. Very poor Diageo (the owners of JW whiskey),

I ordered this product as a Christmas gift for my fiancé since he likes to try different kinds of whiskies and this one was on his list..The product looks very nice, with a very good looking box and resistant, the only downfall was that the top support for the bottle fall off after a couple of weeks, which isn't a major issue, just mean we need to be a little bit more careful when handling the box.In terms of taste he also has a bottle of Johnnie Walker Gold Label and between the two he prefers the Blue, as according to him has a more smooth taste opposite to a little bit harsh from the Gold one.In summary I believe this is a very good product to offer as a present since its a very high quality

The ubiquitous Jw Blue label,This is a cracking blended whisky, great complexity and flavour. It’s smooth, with nutty notes. Starts of on the plate with a touch of spice then rolls to oak. Leaves a lingering smooth finish that lasts!PALATEA silky caress. Unexpectedly strong spicy entry, but always honeyed and rounded by some toasty oak. The honeyed malt is beautifully interwoven around the venerable grain, which must be absolutely ancient.The age old question is it worth the price.... to be fair I think you can get a better whisky for this price point... the Balvinie Portwood would be my personal choice over this.Bought this for the collection for the limited bottle.

I'd previously balked at spending 3 figures on a blend but a chance deal on Platinum Label and my surprise at how refined it was, gave me the confidence to make a leap of faith on Blue Label.I haven't been disappointed. I've got a few choice single malts... Glenlivet 18, Glenmorange 18, Glenfiddich 18, Jura 21, Glenfarclas 25, Oban Distillers Edition (1996), etc.Blue Label stands up against or beats all of them. It has a sweetness, smoothness and complexity that combines the best of some very select whiskies and a long, gentle burn in the throat that seems to settle for days and leave you begging for another glass.

Scotch preference is obviously a very personal thing-single malt or blended, peat smoke or not, how old, rocks or neat, etc.For my personal taste, this is probably the best all-around nice scotch I've had. My wife doesn't like scotch, but even she likes this one. It's smooth, a hint of smoke, but not too much and just generally great. I'm sure many connoisseurs will each have their own preference and would eschew JW Blue as too smooth and generic, but for me, it's one of the best "treat yourself" scotches out there and one of the ones I could see appealing to the widest audience (if you're willing to share!)

I'm a single malts guy ..my favourites are glenfiddiich 15 bang for buck and drinkability , and Ardbeg ugedail for that dramatic occasion . I've tried over 500 whiskies and I keep coming back to those 2 in particular.(favourite ever was bunnahaibin pedro ximénez cask strength but can't get it! Sniff!) ..anyhow I was super impressed with the flavour of blue label and would buy again at the £100 ish price ..I wouldn't pay the £150 that it normally is . .I've since bought the green label but not a patch on the blue for me . ..really really enjoyable whisky ..very clever blend !

Ordered the London design and got sent the Edinburgh design. Luckily my girlfriend is Scottish and liked it as such. I read only 2500 were made however the bottle is marked as 977/1500 suggesting 1500 was made?The bottle itself is a beautiful design, you cannot fault it and that alone is one of the reasons why I bought this for her. She loves whiskey, it's a limited edition and it's JW blue.The box it comes in is also verry attractive and holds the bottle securely. Now its a decision of does she open it and enjoy or keep it as a display only :)

Bought as a Father’s Day gift for my dad. Very pricy but when it’s on offer I really think it’s worth it, especially if the person your getting it for us a whisky connesiour and really appreciates a good whisky! The bottle and box is very luxurious. The only down side is the first time I ordered this the inside of the box was Damaged and there were bits of plastic that has broken off. As this was a gift I had it returned and exchanged for another and the second bottle came in brilliant condition. A little bit of a hassle but it was worth it.

WoW and WoW again this is an amazing drink. Add a small amount of water and you open up all the complex flavour dynamics.As a whiskey drinker I love this, however if you want to spend less money there are a number of alternatives available for you. For example Oban 14 yr at around £40 and pretty much any Japanese whiskey (expect to pay about £70 for a good one)But if you do have the spare cash treat yourself. Also as an after dinner drink to offer as a digestive to guests it’s a winner every time.

I have meant for years to buy a bottle of JWB - but never got around to it. I was not disappointed, it is like drinking honey, slips smoothly down the throat leaving a slight peaty taste with a hint of sweetness. No burning to the back of the throat that you get with the like of Famous Grouse! It's not cheap so I will be making this bottle last a while - just a glass every now and then.For reference I like my whisky with two ice cubes in a wide tumbler with a thick base. The glass is important!

I love this whisky, I make no secret of that fact, I love the nose, the flavour and the fact that there is no over-powering pure alcohol sensation to it.I like the way it is marketed, and yes I like the fact that it is a premium product.I genuinely think that a lot of the bad press this whisky gets is due to envy, basically "cant afford it, so criticise it"Its the same with watches. Cant afford a Rolex "they are overrated" is the response.A great drink worth every penny.
