I absolutely love Chivas after I was bought a half bottle by Neighbour a while back for looking after their Dog. I am regular whisky drinker that has reasonable collection of Single Malts but I do enjoy just as much a nice blend, a totally different drink which I like to take with a little ice, I aliken it to having your mates over for tea instead of someone like the inlaws over for dinner, you can dribble and drop gravy down your front and no one bats an eyelid, makes an epic change!I won't bore anyone with my pretentious crap tasting notes except to say that it is lovely, very mellow, reasonably complex (for a blend) and as with other more premium blends the most noticeable difference is less ethanol on the finish,in simple terms it does not burn as much, which maybe an advantage for anyone that is new to whisky, trying to get into it, with virgin whisky tastebuds. It's an ideal Whisky to have in for Xmas to offer your guests as even those occasional whisky drinkers should notice a pleasant difference when compared with less premium blends, even when mixed. Also Chivas often comes in limited edition themed packaging, currently at the time of writing this, it's a metal tin, Globetrotter Suitcase Company theme, with this in mind it also makes a great gift! This is often on Amazon Lightening Deals for less than £17 and at that price is immense value, in fact at 20 quid it's superb!Uninteresting Fact, my wife informs me that one of her Old School Mates, now FB Friends works for Chivas!Slàinte

So it was after payday that i decided i would splash the cash for a large urm splash of something different. I usually drink single malts and when i drink them they are usually not given an age, this is the same with any blended whisky i drink which is commonly not given an age either. There's no particular reason for this, i just like what i like.So as it was i didn't actually purchase this on Amazon as, at the time, it was £29 and as the local specialists was having a sale i went there instead, so you will have to excuse me if i don't mention the delivery etc.I bought a bottle of this for £27 and it came in a silver presentation box and it honestly looked great, the bottle itself is exquisitely designed and artistic and i love this attention to detail, it shows they care about the presentation. As my first aged scotch i can only really compare it to any unaged blended whiskys i have tried. This bottle is pretty Speyside in flavour i.e not smokey and earthy but smooth and sweet (i like both varieties personally) and there is a notable lift in depth with this 12 year old, its a lingering taste and its very very good. For ~£27 or the £25 that may be on offer to you for such a good aged whisky is second to none, its unlikely any aged whisky of this standard will be less than £30 in any shop. So definitely worth the investment.

On that never-ending quest to work my way through everything within my Whiskey Opus Guide, I often overlook the much loved and classic prestigious Chivas Regal. I tend to opt for single malts as I like to really appreciate the craftsmanship and individual notes but this 12 year old blend is one not to be dismissed. Blended from whiskies matured for at least 12 years, this is very well rounded and not over sweet, despite boasting a bouquet which includes honeyed apples, vanilla and butterscotch. While there are more expensive, older blends on offer from Chivas Regal, this 12 year old is probably my favourite. The fruity tones are readily apparent and the warming sensation is a smoother, gentler warmth than that offered by the 18 year old, a factor I personally prefer. I would recommend drinking neat with maybe one cube of ice or a dash or chilled water if necessary but Chivas really needs no fan-fair and the addition of mixers such as cola only inhibits the taste and prevents the consumer from truly appreciating the intricate components which make this whole.5 stars from 5 for this undeniably smooth offering from the Chivas brothers; a treat for yourself or the perfect gift for the whisky lover in your life.If this review has been helpful to you, please take the time to rate it by clicking 'yes' below. When on offer for £20 there is no other blended whisky that comes anywhere near Chivas 12 for quality, flavour, and value. It is delicious neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails. Monkey Shoulder comes close. Triple distilled Jameson is a summer alternative, as is Tullamore Dew, which is sherried. Choices of drinkable blends for £20 or less are very limited and all of those are my favourites along with J&B and Cutty Sark, a superior duo they often seem to bring out in Greece. But of all I've just mentioned I think it's fair to say that Chivas 12 is the best.Go cheaper and you'll end up with Red Label, or Bells, or Famous Grouse, or Haig, or Grants, or Whyte and Mackay, or even worse supermarket specials.None of them are as good, and most are undrinkable unless you just want to get smashed, or kill your drink with too much ice. And then it doesn't matter and you probably won't be reading this.

I am not that used to Chivas Regal Whisky, as I usually stay centred around the Ben Bracken malts, (which are exclusively bottled and sold for Lidl supermarket.) As an alternative, this is a fine supplement as for a 12 year blend and I was lucky enough to get a bottle to indulge in over the xmas period. Anyway, with this whisky it's a tad better than the ho' hum sub-standard impressions of Grants, Red Label and others. It's a little short on depth with it's palate and it perhaps lacks an inspirational aftertaste, but stronger I found, than my usual dram.Definitely don't rate this as a top Whisky, but it is certainly very drinkable and OK. Would I buy it again?... Maybe; but price is everything in today's world....and at around £20 pounds this bottle is worth a look, but if superior brands at only a fiver more are around, that maybe enough to sway me.

Scottish whisky is and has been made in so many styles: single grain, blended single grain, blended grain and malt, blended single malt and single malts. The add to that the fact that all of these can be of different ages the various combinations are almost infinite (I wonder if anyone has ever tried to count them from today back down the centuries - that would a truly herculean, possibly impossible task?)Anyway back to Chivas Regal. As far as I am concerned this is one of, if not 'the', best blend of distilled and Scottish Malt whiskies.Another important point. Watch the price on Amazon - it often at a lower price than in UK supermarkets such as Sainsbury's and ASDA.The two bottles arrived very well packed and within 24 hours of ordering. That is service.

I purchased this item as an Amazon deal for £20.00; which I felt is a reasonable price for 70cl of this 12 year old blended scotch.I must admit that I am far from being a whisky buff, but I like a drop from time to time and whilst I can appreciate the various elements of a single malt, I am only able to say whether I like it or not - I am not one to describe the velvet note or hint of caramel, although some can. Basically, I think that this is a very nice glass of whisky, is great with a couple of cubes of ice or a splash of water and is ideal for sharing with good friends. I will buy this again if I can get it on a deal.Nice drink and a five star item at £20.00,at £28.00 a 4 star review and that is what I have rated it based upon.

If you enjoy your Whisky for it's flavour and you like whisky at the slightly more "honeyed" end of the flavour spectrum, I'd try this.If (totally unrelated) you watched and/or enjoyed the TV series Boston Legal and want to try what Denny and Alan used to drink on the balcony, during their "putting the world to rights chats" at the end of every episode, then try this (or try it on your balcony after a hard day!)....It's a really nice, thoroughly pleasant, easy to drink, slightly honeyed whisky which delivers for me every time.I've bought a number of bottles now and it's delicious! Go on, go on, go on, give it a try!

I've had it before and I think it's one of the better blended whiskies I've tried. I am often I.D.'d and I understand why, I'm young and I look quite a big younger than I am. What I can't understand is why the delivery driver demanded to see my fathers photo I.D, as he's in his fifties and very obviously doesn't look anything like under age. The exact same thing happened with another Amazon delivery a few weeks ago to my mother, who is about the same age as my father. Amazon, please apply common sense when it comes to this sort of thing, blanket stupidity policies are never appreciated.

I bought this over Christmas as a little gift to myself, I'd never tried whisky before, and am not really too much of a drinker, but this is definitely by far my favourite drink. It comes in a very nice box as you can see in the picture, and the taste is splendid, it's a rather strong taste (at least I found it to be) but luckily that's just what I like. I would recommend this if you're into strong flavours and fairly strong alcoholic drinks. Even if you're not too much of a drinker you'll probably like this. I advise to take your time with it and savour the flavour.

I must admit I am not whisky connoisseur. Actually very far from it. But lately, I was getting into single malts. I decided to have a go at this blended one as it was rated quite high. After trying it I must admit I still like single malts and I have some of my favourite brands. However, from blended ones this is quite good and I would say it is "up there" for me. It is not too harsh to the taste and overall at the time of purchase, it was quite good value for money. The question is how much more I would value it over famous grouse. And I am not sure about that.

This was purchased as a gift for my Uncle. My Uncle was delighted with the rich flavour of the Scotch whisky. He also commented that this bottle did not disappoint and did not last as long as he had hoped. On that basis I would have no hesitation in recommending this as a potential gift, especially at the price I got it for (£17.90- Amazon Deal of the Day).If you found my review helpful, please click the "Yes" button to state this so I know its been a help to someone. Thank you!

I had been bought this by my mother in law and hadn't touched it for 3 years. She passed away yesterday and out of respect and to raise a toast for her passing I opened the bottle to say "cheers, good health". I was blown away, honestly, what a wonderful taste, the first sip, neat for me, tasted wonderful, sweet, smooth, with ripples of vanilla and apple. Leaving a warm and pleasant after taste. Will definitely be buying another.
