First things first; this is exceptionally well packaged and sexy looking. Endorsed by master blender Colin Scott, the signature brown box has a blue edged lid that opens to reveal an equally sexy looking bottle. (Even the inside of the box has 'CR18yo' printed all over it.) It actually seemed a shame to have to open this. However, for reviewing purposes, that's what I was forced to do. It's a tough job but someone has to do it.A lovely golden colour gives way to a more than satisfying golden aroma. I tried this with coke, then soda water, and then just water but I've come to the conclusion that there's only one way to drink whisky; neat. This was very rewarding and didn't seem as 'harsh'as other brands I've tried, if that makes sense. I guess an analogy would be to run your tongue across some rough grade sandpaper, then do the same with the smoothest. Yes, smoother is probably the right word. It's a 70cl bottle so, unless you have your mates round, it should last you quite a while. It's difficult to explain, and the only way you'll really understand is to try it yourself, but this whisky really does taste the part in that it looks expensive and actually has that feel about it when drunk. I rather enjoyed the toffee and honey flavour. As I couldn't detect even a hint of such a thing, forget the bit about there being a 'sweet taste of coconut milk…' (and be thankful it's not coconut water!). If you're a whisky drinker, and chance is you are, or someone you know is, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this, this is one to put on your list of possibles. Now I might need to sample some 12 and 25 year old Chivas Regal to see if I can taste the difference. Right, I'm off to offer the girl up the road a few glasses of this until she finds me attractive.Fabulous stuff.

I HATE whisky, im going to be upfront about it, every whisky i have ever tried has tasted like tcp, the smell and the taste makes me want to vomit, but i drink american whisky, well specifically bourbon, go figure, so i was intrigued to try this. This is a limited edition bottle hand crafted by master distiller colin scott, the presentation is beautiful, the box is solid, bottle is good and heavy and looks classy and elegant. The initial smell that hit me was rich, warming, and bizarrely christmas spices, no tcp in sight, the taste, well im not going to lie i couldnt taste anything but warmth, and honey? im not a conisseur but it was too much for me to drink neat, so i added some water, that made it more pleasant to drink but i think that the complexity of this particular blend may be lost on an amateur like me.Props however as its the only British whisky i have ever been able to drink, ever, im a southern comfort, bourbon kind of person and i dont think this will make me change that . I did comit a cardinal sin and tried it with both lemonade and coke and much prefer it with lemonade, warms the cockles of my heart, and my throat and stomach :@)Im not sure who writes the product description, i mean coconut milk and vanilla for goodness sake, unless you taste whisky for a job, trust me you are not going to taste anything but the whisky.I am very grateful for the opportunity to try something so refined and my visitors are going to love me when i offer them a taste, however not sure the bottle will last that long. Thanks Chivas Regal :)

Your first taste should be a slow sip as it pours from the bottle to fully appreciate the full splendour of this rich, mellow, amber liquid. Add nothing! Whisky not only warms the cockles of the heart, it also inebriates. Water, soda, lemonade and the likes will dilute the spirit and cause it to enter more rapidly into the bloodstream hastening the intoxicating effects. This is OK with an inferior whisky, but, with one of this quality, the greatest reward will be obtained by taking it straight. This Chivas Regal has been patiently maturing for 18 years in great casks and it will pay you to show similar patience. Most single malts reflect the nature of the landscape in which they were distilled. Many can be an acquired taste. This is an excellent blended whisky produced by mixing a variety of single malts and grain whiskies. As such, it is more likely to appeal to a broader range of palates. A good blender is worth more than his weight in gold, and the one responsible for this dram is likely to be a multi-millionaire. If he isn't, he should be. It is not an inexpensive purchase, and some may flaunt it and show it off as a sign of their capability for conspicuous consumption. Others; more discerning and discreet, may put it away to be shared with a close friend and fellow connoisseur. Me? I intend to act like a selfish, anti-social scumbag and sup it slowly by myself! It really is that good!

This is a superbly presented whisky, the box is well made and has a high quality feel to itThis would be an excellent gift to give to someone who appreciates a good whisky.I must admit that I usually buy single malts, and prefer the slightly more smoky and peaty ones. That said this is a very interesting whisky. The box talks of opulent richness and maturity. The whisky has a very delicate aroma, with perhaps a hint of sweetness. This taste is also delicate, one could even say slightly "watery", however the finish is one of mellow honey. This is a sophisticated, mellow whisky, which drinks well and has a very pleasant finish. If you like Lagavulin or the stronger flavoured peaty whiskies then this is not for you.If however you like a more delicate, even floral whisky then you will love this.I was really expecting a little more in the way of character from a whisky of this price and age, however it is very smooth and mellow and that does come with age.I wish I could award 4.5 stars, it is not quite 5 stars due to the lack of character, but 4 stars seems a little harsh...

This is a quality blended whisky. However it is worth mentioning that Chivas Regal primarily markets itself towards the less experienced whisky drinkers (which is absolutely fine), since that is the largest profit margin.Personally I’m no single malt snob even though I have a number of wonderful whiskies in my collection ranging from £30-£350 and yet I still find myself enjoying blends such as this. Its not perfect by any means but for £50 it’s hard to criticize. You get aromas of sherry, fruits, oak, leather, toffee and perhaps some dark chocolate. And despite being only 40%abv it has a surprising amount of depth and is maybe a little too easy to drink.Whether you’re new to whisky and want to try something with a little more character or if you’re already experienced I think it’s worth a try.

Although I am far more of a single malt fan than a blend I was interested to give this one a try. It arrives very tastefully boxed and said to have its own unique serial code to trace its journey back to the distillations. The bottle itself I am not so keen on – it really doesn’t need such a thick bottom but the colour of the whisky is a lovely gold. The whisky itself doesn’t have too much on the nose but the taste is smooth, rich with spice, a bit smoky cut with a fruity sweetness and a woody aftertaste. I never would have considered buying this before but actually quite impressed. It’s still not a favourite but should make a great gift for a blend fan.

I wish I could give a real critique of this whisky, however neither myself or my other half are connoisseurs... So all I have to offer is a novice's opinion. On first sight this is very well presented - the presentation box gives the feel of quality and I really like the bottle and labelling. The whisky itself is very smooth and smells slightly sweet. It doesn't make you grimace as you drink it (some may like this, myself I prefer it to be more mellow). There isn't really much else I can say - I'm very pleased with it and will be keeping this for quiet nights in rather than breaking it out at parties!

I'm no great connoisseur of whisky, there are a few that I like but have never drank them on a regular basis. If however I had been exposed to this quality I would perhaps have been a more regular tippler. The presentation carton is a thing of beauty as befits the contents and would make a superb gift. The amber liquid itself is refined and in no way harsh but is smooth and mellow with a delicate honey-like taste.A drink of this quality is not something to be splashed about at parties but is better kept to savour with a close friend...recommended.

Spendid bottle of whisky! I wanted to purchase a high quality scotch whisky and Chivas Regal 18 years certainly did not disappoint. It is very smooth to drink so no need to mix with coke. It has a rich wood and spice flavour without overpowering. I also tried the 12 year old Chivas and did notice a difference with the taste, as the 18 years i found had more spice and balanced flavour, so is worth upgrading if you are a whisky lover. The only negative is the price, would be better if it was slightly cheaper.

This is a really nice smooth whisky. It is quite a dark amber colour and has velvety honey notes to it. It does feel like it has been maturing for a while, but I haven't tasted the younger one in the same brand so I can't honestly compare the two. If you are thinking of giving it as a gift it is also worth noting that the box it comes in is lovely too. I know £40 plus is a lot to pay for for a bottle of whisky but for a special occasion I really would recommend this one.

This Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Whisky arrived well protected and packaged by Amazon, I have ordered several bottles of alcoholic drinks this year and they have all arrived in perfect condition. I must admit I do not enjoy drinking whisky neat, my Dad, on the other hand enjoys a wee dram or two. The presentation box is lovely quality and this makes for a special gift. This is a great blended whisky that is truly meant to be enjoyed neat, or on the rocks. Recommended.

This is a lovely, smooth blend that stands up against similar single malts in the same price range. I love a well mixed blended whisky as much as a single malt, and have long been a fan of Johnny Walker's more expensive (Gold, Platinum, etc.) offerings and Ballatines 17 year old. This has something of the flavour of the JW Platinum in here but it is slightly less well balanced and more nutty in texture.

10.11.2016

This whisky is lovely it is the only alcohol i drink and only do so on the odd occasion Christmas etc. I worked for Chivas Regal some years ago which is how i found my preference for a good whisky over vodka etc. I prefer this to the 12 year old but only just they are both an excellent whisky for the price the bottle i have just now will probably last untill 2018! Im a lightweight.

The presentation box is absolutely lovely and would make a great gift for a whiskey lover. The bottle itself is also a lovely shape and nicely designed. And the whiskey...is beautiful! I am not much of a whiskey drinker (usually a splash of whiskey and the rest of the tall glass is mixer!) but this I could happily sip a small glass in the evening after a hard days work.

I’m not a fan of the 12 year old but I tried this as I bought it as a Xmas gift for my dad as he loves the 12 year old version. I tried this and it’s delicious and so delicate! All you need is an ice cube or a splash of water and it’s perfect! I wish I had bought more bottles as it was bought in sale
