First, let me state that I am not a bourbon connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I use to detest it (please don't grab the pitch forks just yet). Unfortunately, I became allergic to quite a lot of alcoholic beverages and one of the few options left to me was whiskey. Following two years of sobriety, my friends convinced me to attempt acquiring a taste for Jack Daniels and coke. Eventually, I began to tolerate it but still wouldn't dream of drinking it straight or on ice. A few years later I saw this brand on amazon, reduced for a prime day sale and with glowing reviews, so I bought a bottle. I tried it with coke and wow, it tasted amazing. Then out of curiosity I tried it straight and was shocked by how good I found it. All the harshness that I found with previous whiskeys isn't present here. It's so smooth and even to my newbie pallet, tastes of something other than tree. I introduced the brand to many of my friends and every single one so far has stated that it's the best bourbon they have ever tasted. Now whenever I see that it has gone on sale I stockpile the stuff for occasions throughout the year. Of course, that occasion sometimes is just making it through another week of work but still...

I'd wanted to try this Bourbon since hearing and reading good things about it, and having finally got round to doing so I'm pleased that I did!Being a novice as far as Bourbon goes at my first time of trying this, I initially found it quite strong, however in time I've put that down to the fact that I was indeed a novice when it came to sampling whiskeys, I'd only really drank Buffalo Trace before this (and you can't really compare it to scotch)It didn't take my palate long to adjust however, as by my 2nd or 3rd glass it's lovely, more rounded flavour had completely won me over.I'd definitely recommend it to any bourbon fan out there who's yet to try it,I'm still in no position to say it's better or worse than any other bourbon in it's price range as I'm far from a connoisseur, however I would say that it is a step up from the slightly cheaper however still decent bourbons.

My first taste of Bourbon ever. This was on offer at £20 a bottle and I liked the shape of the bottle and the label. I know I know, never buy a drink because of the packaging. I'm not a fan of Scottish Whisky straight, and would normally go with brandy or on rare occasion a single malt; the latter has never delivered for me. So opening the bottle and pouring into a crystal whisky glass I had no way of knowing what was to happen next.Sniff factor seemed rather appealing then the tiny sip; NICE, then the larger than a sip round the mouth several times and down she went. I could do all the wows and stuff but the easiest thing for me to say is there are not sufficient superlatives to cover how much I enjoyed this stunning Woodford Reserve.I am having a glass as a chaser right now with a beer. Just divine! Shame I cannot give this Bourbon six stars!

I'm not one of these people who can taste vanilla, chocolate and virgin strawberrys and all the other flavours people seem to taste on their sensitive palates. I love this, it tastes silky smooth with a lovely mellow aftertaste.I like it's smooth and tastes of well produced bourbon to me.This is the best bourbon I've tasted so far, to be fair I'm new to bourbons but I really enjoy this. Prices range £20-£30 a bottle, I paid £25 and would have happily paid full price. There seem to be many great bourbons available now so a friend recommended to start with woodfords.Next woodfords is going to be the double oaked as an enthusiastic Londoner has written a hilarious review describing the flavours on his palate.Who knows, sounds like a god buy like the standard woodford.

I drink a lot of Scotch, and an increasing amount of Irish, but this has always been my go-to bourbon. It tastes immediately like expensive wildflower honey, while the flowers themselves blast their fragrance directly up your nose. Then it becomes nutty brandy cream for a while, then it is gone leaving nothing but a faint warming sensation. It's a very subtle and well-balanced experience indeed, one ruined by the addition of ice or water. This doesn't bear anything but the vaguest of comparisons to cheap puke like JD Black Label and Jim White Label, it's a really fine whiskey that is clearly made by artisans who know and love their craft. Despite being a different style,it holds up very favourably to the best that the old world has to offer. A personal favourite.

A powerful Bourbon in terms of flavour and aroma....and 43% so packs a punch too. Very rich taste of sweet vanilla oak, pepper & spice. A sumptuous drink. The bottle is very nice too, great labelling with batch number and bottle number. It's a curious thing but for some reason the bottle doesn't look like it holds 70cl and seems to empty much faster than a typical rounded bottle of single malt....read into that what you will! I'm really enjoying discovering these wonderful Bourbons being a confirmed Scottish single malt man....it's interesting to sample the start of the single malt production line and to get the full power of fresh American oak is amazing. Enjoyed this one,but not as much as Bulleit.

Gorgeous bourbon will be buying again. My main concern is that during this pandemic the delivery is not contactless. I stood at my open window when I saw the delivery van pull up at my house, now I'm no spring chicken I'm nearly 52 and i expected the driver once he saw me to give me the thumbs up or some indication that I'm obviously over 18. But he came straight over to me and asked for ID. I had to hand him my driving license through the window and he took a photo of it before handing me my package. I'm amazed that Amazon are putting there drivers and customers at risk, surely until the pandemic is over a visual conformation of age should be used.

Bought this for a US-themed whiskey taster evening, and was very pleased. Nice looking bottle, to add some interest to my shelf, containing a very pleasant whiskey to pass an evening with. Not sure I could place all 200 individual flavour notes, but there’s nothing out of place on the nose or palate.I caught green apple, apricot, caramelised orange peel and, bizarrely, marzipan, as well as wood notes on the nose. On the palette, it doesn’t taste tremendously different to me – more wood notes, vanilla, brown sugar and maybe a hint of baking spices, with a dry finish.A fair price at £30, and a bargain if you can find it discounted.

Been a while since I've had a bottle of this. It's going to be tough to make it last to a third night. First glass just coats the throat. No burn or loss of breath, it just glides down and leaves a warm feeling with a note of self satisfaction. Tastes better than some that I have paid more than twice as much for. Forget tastless session drinking or delicate snifter drinking, this is one of those drops that you can just enjoy without the pompous ceremony and feel like your on a TV cop show. Get in from what ever and sink a large one, it is the Stella of the bourbon world, and that's a compliment.

Bought on offer for £20 and if I see it for that price again I'll buy three. The bottle is beautiful for a start, and the quality of the whiskey is fantastic. Strangely, the first glass I tried was over ice and I didn't think that much of it, but then I tried it completely neat and was in love. It's complex but very gratifying, and a bit dangerously moreish. I've seen some people describe it as sweet or sickly, personally I don't see that but it does have a strong caramel flavour which is what makes it such an easy drink (despite the ABV). Best bourbon I've tried so far.

I cannot fully explain why, but this is probably the best mixing bourbon I have found. The mash bill is fairly standard (a tad high in the rye content, but not extreme), 45+% is not unusual for a bourbon, NAS but purportedly averages around 7 yo, which is the sweet spot for bourbon. Business as usual, on paper, but Woody makes the best bourbon Manhattan (heresy, I know, but it works alright) and the best Mint Julep I have had. Unsurprisingly, Woody is the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby. It loses a star for not being as stellar a sipper as it is a mixer.

Having tasted and drank most Bourbons out of Kentucky, this is my favourite.Have visited the distillery in Versailles, KY, and experienced the traditional ways this Bourbon was created; one can see why. It's exquisite, rich, chewy, well balanced favours from grain, wood to all the sweet aromatics.Everything to bring you that amazing "Kentucky hug" (Yes, that's a thing) that you get on every sip, providing that you go for it neat; putting stuff in it, would be a bit of a waste.Nothing beat or cures your heart like Woodford Reserve does.Enjoy responsibly!

This whisky is definitely way underpriced for the quality you get. To put this into perspective, my all time favourite whisky is "The Dalmore King Alexander III" which is ~£170. This whisky is a very close second, but as its 1/6th the price of the Dalmore - its a no-brainer. Also the rest of the Woodford whiskys are also brilliant - to the point this is my favourite brand.Every now and then i go on whisky buying sprees, and every time this brand is ALWAYS on the list! Who would have thought the Yanks can make such a fantastic whisky!!

By far my favourite bourbon. Unlike scotch there is little variation between bourbon - and while you can pay scotch level prices for bourbon whiskies they aren't really worth it. You can buy Woodfords for as little as £23 when it's on sale, which is pretty often.Woodfords is a good blend of sweet and spice, enough that you can drink it straight over ice - unlike Jack Daniels which has to be drown in a mixer to get rid of the harsh taste. If you like more spice with your bourbon - go for bulleit, makers mark or Eagle rare.

I am sure there are bourbon’s with better qualities out there but I have been drinking this for years now and have no need to change - those better bottles will no doubt cost way more than the £34 I have been paying and I thought 34 was as expensive as I wanted to go - now I have found my favourite on amazon for £23 !!!! - virtually buy 3 for the price of two !!!! - I drink it with a teardrop of water as recommended to me by the top distillers at Bushmills - it’s warm - smooth - full bodied and fabulous - a true delight
