I've had a lot and lot of rums and wasn't really that expectant of this 'Forgotten Casks' version. I just wanted to get it over with it and move on. Like most rums they're only ever going to be 40% volume, as this rum is too. But, I got to tell you this rum has an extra punch for me that I wasn't expecting. LOLMaybe it's because I don't drink rum every day, or maybe it's because my taste buds have been completely knackered from previous exposure to over-proof white rums, I dunno (?). This rum will never have it all for me (far from it), but it has something and, it's worth a look-see (taste). ;)The only thing I really didn't like was the bottle's diffuser (a sort of plastic internal duct limiting its flow).

The rare forgotten cask from Chairman's reserved you can't go wrong with this rum. A great drink, smooth on palette a joy to enjoy that can't be purchased on the high streets in the UK.

Very different flavour, quite dry but thats not to its detriment. A decent tipple but I prefer a stronger demerara taste.
