More often than not I mix my Rum drinks with MG Black Barrel and compared to that the Appleton is very distinct - much more floral and fruity. Both are great, both very different and both earn their place in the cupboard! Appleton make some really excellent high end rums and while this is towards the bottom of their range it punches well above its weight in a coke or a dark and stormy.

After reading the reviews i was expecting a WOW when drinking this rum. It didn't really excite me at all. It doesnt taste much different to other cheaper rums I've tried.I wasn't the only person who thought this whilst trying it at the time.Unfortunately not one i would purchase again.Very nicely presented, packed well and arrived quickly.

Just came back from Jamacia after two weeks holiday in Runaway Bay. This is where they make this Rum. And i can tell you its something else. Very smooth. If you can afford it i recomend the 21 year old its a very nice drink highly recomended.

I sampled this in Jamaica when I went to the Appleton’s factory I will not drink any other rum Appleton’s is the best they also said not to mix it just have it neat that is they way I have it best advice

A fantastic golden rum from Appleton Estate. Nice soft favours of vanilla and mellow coffee scents. An ideal rum for drinking straight or mixing with a little coke. Highly recommended.

Unlike the 12 yo this is the better mixer for a mai tai,You can literally drink more than one Mai tai and not feel too drunk it is perfect in a mai tai

Hubby and I love rum... Reminds us of the carribean so everytime we pop open an Appleton estate it send us straight to St Lucia and Tobago...

Great favourite of mine, lovely mellow, silky mouth feel. I drink this neat as it seems a shame to mask some flavours with ginger or coke.

Really excellent, this is a huge step up from the standard Appleton. I usually prefer mount gay BB, or angostura, but this is up there.

This rum is beautiful and smooth, and goes down a treat..I have ordered 3 bottles so far, as I think the price is good value for money.

Super tasty, perfect if you're trying to replicate the original Trader Vic's Mai Tai (the only type of Mai Tai you should ever make)

This is a very smooth rum suitable as a sipping rum or with a mixer (I use coke zero and soda water so it is not too sweet).

Loved this, a friend recommended it.So smooth and very moorish.I also made cocktails with pineapple juice, delicious.
